I've been seeing everyone go to Da Vien Coffee, and I finally got to try it. Now I understand why people love this place. It's real Vietnamese coffee strong, sweet, and simple. They use Vietnamese coffee and mix it with sweet foam or matcha, and it works so well. I'm shocked that matcha and Vietnamese coffee goes well together because matcha is usually strong and a little bitter but here it blends perfectly. They also have a math drink, and it's really good. The server was super nice, too. I love that the drinks taste consistent and refreshing, especially since I love cold coffee that wakes me up and keeps me awake. I'm definitely coming back. This place serves legit Vietnamese coffee.
Let me start by saying I love da vien and have had multiple great experiences, but on my recent experience they lacked customer service. I always recommend ordering online thru the app so you can customize the order and it's on record. I ordered 5 drinks, 4 drinks with less ice and 1 bottled black coffee. When picking up the marble drip coffee was over 50% full of ice! I also questioned the girl who said she made it why that one drink had significantly more ice than all of the other drinks. She said that was less ice and she made it correct, and wouldn't remake the drink to how all the others were made correctly. I was there in the evening when the store was empty. I was also given the incorrect bottled coffee, which I told them before I left so they exchanged it. I sent them a message and they responded with a generic they will follow up but didn't , and then an email which they haven't responded to. So if they get your order wrong you are out of luck. Disappointing lack of customer service!
We ordered the Strawberry Cream Oat Matcha, the Lychee Jasmine Tea, and the Einspänner Latte. The Strawberry Cream Oat Matcha was an easy 10/10 according to my daughter..and trust me, she's tried just about every strawberry matcha out there. My husband ordered the Lychee Jasmine Tea. His first reaction was that it was a little too sweet, but once the ice melted a bit, he said it was perfect. Then there was the Einspänner Latte... I don't know what was in that latte, but the caffeine hit me after the first sip. The flavor and sweetness were BOLD (to say the least), and I swear the caffeine was off the charts...and that's coming from someone who drinks coffee every day. I really wanted to keep drinking it because it was so good, but I just couldn't. My body was like, "Absolutely not." She was STRONG. I saved the rest, hoping the melted ice would mellow it out a bit, but it was still strong the next morning! I just noticed you can choose the caffeine strength on the menu, so I'll definitely be trying that next time. Needless to say, we'll be back!

It was the perfect lunch time pick me up. It was perfectly sweet and it helped me work throughout the day. It was super clean and simply decorated. I defintiely would come back to work there too.

TURNAROUND TIME the turnaround time was quick when i visited on memorial day before 11 am. SPACE & SEATING the interior design and furnishings of the cafe lean warm brutalist. there are a few tables that can seat 2-3 as well as an oblong table tucked away in the corner that can seat a larger party of 5-6. there are 2 gender neutral restrooms are available to visitors.
Great matcha experience! Easy kiosk for ordering however missing the human interaction of service was non existent. Ambiance is clean. Shop has AC which was a plus!

The darker and thicker the better. I end my work day with 2 cokes. Caffeine is in my blood, my mom trained me at 7 hahahah (not kidding). I don't know what coffee they use here. But theirs causes me to be uncomfortable. Like chest palpitations and this weird feeling in my chest I can't describe it. No but really tell me so I can avoid it in the future! With that said drink at your own risk. The coffee tastes good, it's flavorful. Not as sweet as I like it but creamy and rich. The foam on top is delicious. If I could just have that I'd be happy. If you are coming from Rosemead Blvd. You cannot turn left into the plaza. I got parking right in front with no issues. Customer service is definitely lacking. Came in and basically it was: give your order, pay and leave. This was my first (and last) time here. I also got a lychee jasmine tea. That was delightful. It saved this from being a lower rating.

I usually go for the egg coffee or strawberry tea, but this visit I decided to try the sesame latte ($6). The coffee itself was bold and strong as always which I appreciate. I just wish the black sesame flavor stood out a little more, but overall it was still tasty and gave me the perfect energy boost. Highly suggest ordering online for pick up - quick and convenient!
I had their viet coffee and matcha cream coffee. The matcha, I tasted cream mostly. The barista makes the coffee here better than Arcadia location for some reason.
More and more Vietnamese coffee options available in town and they all start expanding and getting more accessible! Da Vien isn't an exception with more outlets across town now. Offering large-sized cup, it's pretty good deal for what you get. Bold coffee taste yet balanced with creaminess from the milk. I personally would go with Marble one given the Vietnamese one prolly's bit too strong for me. But if you're more into the really strong one, it's def the right pick! Got our orders for to-go, and I could finish the cup in probably 3 rounds LOL. Highly recommend online pre order since there might be line during busy hours.

Super packed upon arrival. Now we understand why! Matcha looks like what they are pretty popular for. They import their matcha. I need to go back to try it! They have seating inside (limited) and some tables outside. Bit of a newer store, but the buzz about it looks like they have a following. My coffee was soooo strong it made me do all the things!! Normally I get my fix from lee's...... this place is now REPLACING THAAAAT. Soooo yummy QUICK SERVICE and you can mobile order ahead also use their app for points towards free drinks. I highly recommend installing their application if you do not already have it. This will allow you to place mobile orders, which can help you avoid lengthy queues. A significant benefit of providing your phone number is the opportunity to receive their promotional offers. The queue was not as extensive as during the previous promotion, but a considerable number of individuals were certainly awaiting their banana lattes. I definitely enjoyed their banana latte!
COOKIE MATCHA OBSESSION CONTINUES! I finally got my DaVien cookie matcha again, and YES... I'm still obsessed. The matcha is smooth and creamy, and that cookie crumble on top is what takes it to another level. I love mixing the crumble into the drink so you get little cookie bits throughout every sip. And today was BOGO, so of course I got TWO. Because when your favorite drink is buy one, get one... you simply don't say no. One cookie matcha down, one waiting for later. 10/10 would absolutely get this again. read more

First time trying a banana latte (or banana flavored coffee of sorts). My boyfriend got this and I took a few sips. I think the coffee was great and personally not a fan of banana-flavored things. The banana pudding-like thing in the drink was quite unique. I'd stick with the other standard options next time and skip the banana. Was super busy here on a Saturday early afternoon. read more

Very, very worth the hype. Honestly some of the most delicious coffee I've had in a while, and I already know I'm going to be coming back. The staff was super friendly and helpful, especially because I couldn't decide what to order. They helped me narrow it down and I ended up going with the banana latte and HOLY MOLY. It was SO good. Super creamy, smooth, and perfectly balanced, with the banana flavor actually coming through without tasting overly sweet or artificial. It almost had this rich, dessert-like creaminess while still very much tasting like coffee. And it was only $5??? In this economy??? That is an absolute STEAL, especially for a specialty latte this good. The inside is also SO cute and has such a fun, cozy vibe. It's definitely somewhere I'd want to sit, hang out, and enjoy my coffee instead of just grabbing it and leaving. My only wish is that they had more pastries or actual food options because I would absolutely stay longer, grab something to eat, and make a whole morning out of it. But the coffee alone is enough to bring me back. Great prices, genuinely friendly service, adorable space, and a banana latte I will absolutely be thinking about until my next visit. My favorite place to get Vietnamese coffee in this area has been Da Vien. It is a little out of the way, closer to the 60 freeway, but ordering on the app is very convenient. I also love that I'm earning points with my purchases. They often have BOGO deals on a random weekday between 2-4 PM. These are really nice deals but who drinks strong coffee in the middle of the day T.T They are certainly expanding as I saw on Instagram that they are opening a new location in norCal (Milipitas?) as well as Alhambra now. read more

Da Vien is a well known modern Vietnamese coffee shop from Orange County, and so glad they made it to SGV. They have REALLY strong caffeine in their coffee and matcha drinks! Like won't sleep until 2am strong, if that's up your alley. There's usually a crowd on the weekends so expect to wait around 15 min. The bustling atmosphere is a good sign of how much people love this spot. My favorite drinks incorporate ube, though I like to lower the sweetness and ice (there's a ton of ice normally). Unfortunately, the strawberry cream top on my matcha tasted artificial and overly sweet. read more

Amazing ! Puts starbucks Dogwater coffee to shame ! It's my new favorite goto coffee shop. I like to my coffee to taste like coffee! This place can make it.super strong without the inflated overpriced starbucks cost. Extra espresso shots are only .85 cents... only bad thing is NO DRIVE THRU... its a nice facility, staff are friendly and helpful. I go almost everyday for my coffee fix. Suggestion..use the app to order online ! No wait just pick it up super efficient bc I hate waiting, and this.place has a healthy crowd. I love that this location is a bit closer to home. I've been going to the Garden Grove location. This is a clean busy location. There are seating both indoors and outdoors. Parking can be difficult since it's in a plaza with other eateries. Luckily there are street parking. Servers are friendly and quick. I really like their drinks! I'm never a Ube person but this is the only place I would order Ube. Their Ube Cream Coffee is amazing! It's not too sweet and so flavorful. The Marble Drip is yummy as well. I see that they're opening new locations and hoping really hard they will open one in Rowland Heights area. For my cravings, I will drive the distance! read more

One of my go-to coffee/matcha chains in the OC an 626 areas. This time, I got the egg cream coffee and it was great! I liked the coffee flavor which was perfectly sweetened for me. I also liked how the flavor wasn't too strong like almost alcoholic in taste I've gotten from other Viet coffees. However, the caffeine level is still strong and my friend was jittery all day so be warned. However, you can lower the caffeine levels upon request. I also got it at regular ice so my drink stayed cold and could dilute a bit which I liked. I also enjoyed the egg cream top which was fluffy and tasted liked a pastry. The interior is pretty clean with some tables and chairs. We went on a Saturday morning so it was quite busy. I'm unsure if there is wifi and outlets, but I did see some people working here. They also having parking in front for free, but it can get packed. read more

Tried the einspanner matcha latte and it was delicious--I really enjoyed the flavor. The ladies I was with were all in the mood for coffee, and we happened to stumble upon this plaza. I'm not much of a coffee person, so I appreciated that they had great non-coffee options too. One thing I'd tweak next time is the sweetness--it was just a bit sweet for my taste, so I'd ask for it to be adjusted. Overall, highly recommend this spot! read more

*Note: TDLR at the end of the review Coconut Matcha: 10/10 Super refreshing! Great on a hot day and nice and light if you're not looking to feel milk heavy. Consistent with other locations I've tried. Service: 7/10 I used the self-service machine, but while I was waiting, they asked me if I needed any help. Everyone seemed super busy. Ambiance: 8/10 Didn't stay to sit, but theres a handful of tables on the inside and a few on the outside on the patio. It looked clean. The music was a bit loud so if you want to study, I'd say bring some headphones. It was also a little chilly inside. Parking was okay. A bit crowded when I went, but I found a spot. TDLR: Super super busy location. Consistent quality with all other locations. May not be the best place to study, but you definitely can. Tables indoor and outdoor. Loud music inside and kinda cold. im so glad they have da vien in the sgv now! they have the best vietnamese/egg coffee that will keep me energized and happy the rest of the day. i always get the coffee at 30% sweet, less cream, more coffee, which is perfect for someone like me who needs strong caffeine and cannot handle things too sweet. egg cream coffee - generous amount of egg cream, a bit foamy. perfect for days i want to indulge. einspanner cream coffee - my other to-go order if i want something less sweet than egg coffee. vietnamese coffee - perfect for days when i just need that hard caffeine kick with nothing else overshadowing it. marble coffee - good for if you want something less strong sesame latte - i couldn't taste the coffee and it felt too diluted. id go to other cafes (cafe de mama) for a good sesame latte. cold brew - diluted, not strong enough for me. read more

This is one of the newer Da Vien locations and it's in the SGV, so I don't have to drive out to OC anymore for it. One thing I like about them is you can adjust the sweetness since Vietnamese coffee can sometimes be overwhelming sweet. My favorite here is the egg coffee, but I've tried quite a few drinks and everything has been solid so far. The place does get really packed though, and the parking lot is small and tight so it can be a hassle, especially when they run BOGO promos. My tip is to just order on the app. Most of the time my drink is ready when I get there, and on busy days I order early and pick it up about 20-30 minutes later with no issues. read more

Good, quality Vietnamese coffee. What more can I say. Da Vien is really setting the standard for me. I stopped by this location on the way to LA on a Sunday afternoon and it was packed. Even with the crowd, ordering on the kiosk was super easy and we were out in about five minutes, so no complaints there. I wanted to try the new strawberry cream oat latte and it was so delicious. I really love a good berry and espresso combo, and this one hit the spot. Definitely something I'd get again. This location is an easy stop for me whenever I'm heading into LA, and I'll for sure be back the next time I'm in the area. read more

My husband and I are positively addicted to Da Vien so we've had to limit our visits to weekend mornings. Their matcha is the best fit for our preferences and their banana cream is unmatched. Any time I try another Banana Matcha Latte from elsewhere, I'm disappointed and disgusted. Their new strawberry cream options are also a sweet addition to their menu! I love that I can tailor to less espresso or 50% sweet and ordering through their app has been the most convenient app ordering experience I've had. The menu is extensive, so whether you're in the mood for a classic latte, something more specialty, or even non-coffee drinks, they've got plenty of options to choose from. It's a great spot if you like trying something new each visit! This place can get pretty busy, but the service holds up well considering the volume. The staff keeps things moving, and orders come out at a reasonable pace even during rush times. There's also plenty of seating if you want to hang out, catch up with friends, or get a little work done. It has that nice balance of being lively but still comfortable enough to sit and chat for a while. It was so busy! I went on a Saturday afternoon hoping to get some work done, but I kept getting distracted by how bustling the place was with customers constantly coming in and out. The ube matcha was good. I first tried DaVien in Westminster, so I'm really glad they opened a location in the 626 area. I love their Vietnamese coffees because they're super strong and very authentic. There are tables inside and one outlet in the corner. It's more of a social gathering and grab-and-go kind of spot. I recommend trying any of their drinks - they're all so good. Parking can be a bit difficult since the plaza is small and gets busy. read more

I went to this location on a late night. Parking is ample as it's a big lot. The venue is nicely decorated with plants & ambient lighting. A nice spot to do some reading or chat with a friend. Ordering can be done via kiosk or in person. I went with the strawberry matcha with boba & my friend ordered the peach tea. Strawberry matcha was a 8/10 as it was a bit too sweet. The boba itself was yummy. I will definitely come back to try the actual coffee itself in the am since Vietnamese coffee is strong lol. read more

Ooooh, the caffeine here gets me every time! I was avoiding this location because the parking seemed limited when I drove by. Good thing they have an app where you can pre-order and pick-up! The establishment is on the smaller side, but still modern. Nothing fancy... Just simple and clean. As it mainly serves coffee, it's more of a pick-up and go kind of place. The matcha foam taste really great blend with coconut water is quite great balance! In the summer time, if you pursue the light but creamy drink this is the drink you can go to! As for the croissant, it is always taste the best when it just serve in the spot. My go-to for Vietnamese Coffee when I'm not in the OC! Love that they opened a location in the SGV. I always get the ube cream coffee and it's everything you could want - super strong, sweet, and good ube flavor. Recently I discovered the coconut matcha and it's my new favorite thing! It's matcha foam on top of fresh coconut water. It's surprisingly a very refreshing and delicious combo when the flavors mix together. I was originally apprehensive at first but don't worry, it tastes nothing like the artificial sunscreen coconut flavor. Also pricing is good for a solid size drink and not extremely pricey like some trendier spots. read more

Nope Ube is a coconut cream and matcha is a matcha cream. Cream is the dairy fat from milk. However, there may be cross contamination from other products like the egg cream, in case you are worried about severe allergies.
