Drinks were great and is what kept it up at 4 star review but service was quite odd.. Long story short, staff need more training and only 1 staff (Kyle) was helpful and made my entire experience more than better that I would still come back. Staff taking our order needs a ton of training, we visited on a Wed 5/13/2026 around 9:30am. She had a hard time finding most of the buttons on the POS system, which was understandable since it was a new coffee shop that just opened last week. Asked if she liked the Matcha Einspanner, her response was quite off putting. She awkwardly laughed and hesitantly said "uhh yes..? I think it's ok" Ordered 3 drinks, she said the total was only about $14. I confirmed if she got all 3 drinks for my order, she repeated and confirmed my 3 drink order but also went ahead and added my 3rd drink. The final total made more sense. However, after my final total she rendered my order for me to pay. All my cards were declined, not sure what happened. I tried 3 different cards and 4 different times (3 taps, 1 final inserted card). Luckily, my colleague came with me and she added another drink to the order and she was able to tap to pay with no issues. I thought something had happened to my entire wallet and all my cards were jeopardized, that was not the case. My card worked fine at the Ralphs in shared plaza about 5 minutes after. There was also a mix up with my order. The staff that took my order went to an older Korean staff to have them correct the order. They were both very confused with each other. Kyle stepped in and explained to both of them how to correct the order. Not only did he help correct and explain what was wrong to them while he was busy making other drinks, he also made sure to ask if rest of my order was correct. Without Kyle today, I don't think I would be returning. If Kyle is there every time I visit I would be extremely happy. Matcha Einspanner -first time ever seeing Matcha cold foam over espresso. Surprisingly the matcha shines through the expresso and you can takes both. Slightly too sweet but still enjoyable. Matcha Latte -solid matcha drink. Also slightly too sweet. Purple Sweet Potato Latte - really good, tasted as I expected it to. Black Sesame Einspanner - as expected, strong black sesame and good coffee. Onyx Latte - tasted like watered down Cacao water, not creamy or a even a trace of coffee flavor. Would not order this again. Jeju Green Tangerine Matcha -wow soo good and refreshing. Love the carbonation. Not too sweet. Dark Chocolate Latte -topped with chocolate shaving and added a some texture to the creamy chocolate milk. If you need to grab something for a kiddo this might be good. Not too sweet. read more

I was intrigued to see this Sydney-based chain take over the old Starbucks on Atlantic Blvd. With locations in NYC and Seoul, it's a bold addition to the neighborhood, even if it feels like a bit of an "odd" fit for the area. The aesthetic is ultra-modern -- crisp white walls and minimalist furniture. Indoor seating is tight, though there are a few tables outside. I tried their signature Einspanner ($6.95), a cream latte recommended by the staff. Unfortunately, it missed the mark for me. The cream was so thick it wouldn't incorporate into the espresso, and the presentation felt a bit messy with the heaps of cream sitting awkwardly over the ice. It's clear the shop is still finding its footing. While I'm happy to see more variety in Monterey Park, there are better coffee spots nearby. I came twice for the 1 dollar promotion during their opening week and I thought it was great! I got the matcha einspanner both times and I think they make a great cream top however I will say their consistency needs work. The first matcha einspanner I got was great. The cream top had a perfect consistency and the espresso woke me up instantly. However the second time I got the matcha einspanner, the cream top was clumpy and not as well presented it is their morning rush though! I can appreciate the drinks coming out quick and fast ! It only took 2 mins or so after I ordered. I will say if you're looking for a less creamy drink then I would opt for the lattes. The einspanner drinks are very cream and milk forward. I think this place is pretty aesthetic and can double as a study spot since they open early or a place to catch up with friends. read more

This new coffee shop just opened up in the Atlantic Square in Monterey Park, replacing the Starbucks that used to be in the plaza next to Yogurtland. They specialize in quality coffee and the signature Einspanner, with locations in New York City, Seoul, Taiwan, Vietnam, Manila, and now Monterey Park. They're currently in their grand opening week (May 2 - May 8) with their $1 promo deal for their signature drinks (Einspanner, Onyx latte, Matcha Einspanner, and Espresso cream latte) to the first 100 customers. They open at 7am, and I came on Monday around 8am and was able to claim the $1 deal. The first 100 was claimed by around 8:30am. It was pretty busy in the early weekday morning, but started to slow later in the morning. According to their website, this coffee shop originated from Sydney, Australia with the name 10000' originating from the "10,000-hours" their team invested into creating the perfect cup of coffee. Their NYC, Sydney, and Decaf coffee blends are crafted from hand-selected, specialty-grade beans at local roasting facilities in Brooklyn, N.Y. I got their Matcha Einspanner which is an espresso latte with a matcha cream top. I got this with almond milk which was an additional $1 charge (but worth considering the drink itself was only $1 from the promo). The espresso flavor was really well-balanced and I enjoyed the flavor of the drink with the almond milk. The matcha cream was sweet with some flavor of matcha, though not that strong. I really enjoyed their mini mango lattice pastry! It had a mango filling that was not too sweet inside a flaky, lattice-topped crust, and it was only $1.50. I had it warmed up, and it was delectable. I was one of the first 100 people that got their $1 drink special. I decided to try the matcha einspanner and my friend got the einspanner. For their syrups , it is only $1 extra. The good thing about their drinks is that it could come either hot or cold. The lids are to the side when you go to pick up your drink. Tried this place in New York before and loved it, so I was really excited when they opened one right in Monterey park and honestly, the exact same thing, still loving it. I came during their grand opening special where certain signature drinks were only $1. I got the Onyx Latte and the Einspanner latte, and both were really good. The coffee flavor was strong and blended really well with the drinks without being overly sweet. Honestly a perfect balance but I do wish they had an option to reduce the sweetness for the Onyx latte though. There's a good amount of seating but it does get busy during the morning (maybe because it is new?), and they offer free WiFi for an hour, making it a nice spot to get some work done. Have only been aware of Ten Thousand coffee in New York when I was done with my trip and haven't had any chance to go back there and paid a visit. Uberly excited knowing it's now here in LA! They're still offering $1 coffee for first 100 visitors in the day. Visiting at noon obviously I was no longer entitled to it within the quota, but hey not a showstopper from trying. The coffee shop was aesthetically designed and provided nice sitting spaces with plenty of plugs. They did call out that wifi use's limited to an hour for the guest, good initiative so people didn't sit forever and enable turnaround with other guests for sure. The baristas and servers were all super friendly and attentive, making the busy cafe able to still serve the guests efficiently. I got their signature Onyx Latte, which was basically their house cold brew with chicory and black cacao, coming in 12oz or 16oz size option. I went for the big one and they did offer dairy substitute for additional $1. It tasted quite peculiar to my palate, somewhat like smokey-ish #IYKYK. The drink I got was neither coffee nor matcha. It seems like they are know for their einspanner. Maybe I'll try that next time but after reviewing the menu for a couple of minutes, I decided to go for one of their non caffeinated drink, a sweet purple potatoes latte. First sip, leaves a smooth creamy taste in your mouth. It tastes like some kind of cereal. They added dry slices of the potato as decor on top of the cup. The only bad thing I can say is that you must drink your drink fast because it loses its taste the longer you take to finish your drink. Will not taste how it did in the beginning as the flavor subsides. Service was friendly and patient since a lot of people asked them the same question. Small but cute shop with an outdoor patio. I love when a new coffee shop opens up near me so I had to give it a try. First of all, I love that the menu is so simple. It definitely has charm and a chill atmosphere. It's not like Starbucks, overcrowded, overpriced and noisy. Hopefully it stays that way. That being said, I wasn't too impressed with the taste. I'll definitely have to give it another try. I got the dark chocolate latte (non coffee drink) and it just tasted like cold chocolate milk. Which is fine . My sister got the tiramisu einspanner. It looked delicious and she enjoyed it. Personally not a coffee connoisseur so I added extra sweetener to my Einspanner - foam/cream was so yummy! Strong coffee flavor alone. Had a sign up on the window and at the counter for $1 drinks for first 100 customers, no employee or manager said anything that the deal was over until I ordered and had to pay at the register. I felt completely misled. If a deal is over let customers know or take the sign down once the limit is reached. Leaving it up all day is a cheap trick to lure people in. I happened to be the first customer during their soft opening--I drove by and noticed they had replaced my usual, convenient coffee stop on the way to the freeway (it used to be a Starbucks). It looked like they were open, so I decided to pop in, and I'm so glad I did because the coffee was delicious. This is definitely going to be my new go-to spot. Hopefully they add an order-ahead option soon so I can grab and go more easily I loved it so much that I went back the day before their grand opening, and they were offering free drinks while training new employees. I stopped by on May 5th in the afternoon, and I have to say the customer service was amazing! Chantelle was incredibly helpful with recommendations, and the whole team worked so well together. I believe the other two employees working were Ashly and Ky from what I heard across the counter, and they made such a great afternoon crew. You could really tell they pay attention to detail and support each other, especially during the rush. Everything came out quickly and tasted amazing. If you're looking for great service after a long shift, I definitely recommend stopping by and getting helped by this team. I'm so glad that another cafe has opened up in this big coffee boom Monterey Park is experiencing. That being said, Ten Thousand Coffee does not match the quality of its competitors. The Good: - An absolutely gorgeous space with a very refined clean aesthetic. The Bad: - The barista who took my order was on the impatient side and didn't seem to know a lot about their espresso. - The lobby was cramped, it feels like they haven't quite figured out where to have customers wait for drinks. - It isn't clear where the order pick up is. I figured it would be at the end of the bar past the pastry case since it was the only empty part of the counter, but no, I had to weave past people in line to pick up my drink next to the espresso machine. - The drink itself: I ordered a Cortado as its a very espresso forward drink and I wanted to get an understanding of their NYC blend. There's just no other way to put it, this is some pretty bad espresso. For the snobs out there, I was unable to get the info on the bean origin and roast level from the barista, but what I can tell you is that it was under extracted and over roasted, leaving an almost soapy taste in my mouth. The barista who made my drink also added far too much milk for a Cortado, this was bordering on a wet flat white. Cleanliness: - They are pretty good at appearing clean, though time will tell (today was their grand opening) - I did notice that at least one of their steam wands was unwiped and had milk crusted all over it. I know that one will be irritating other baristas. If I had to take a guess, Ten Thousand hopes to rely on their specialty coffee menu to mask the putrid taste of their espresso, but that's okay. For the uninitiated, Ten Thousand will do just fine; for the coffee snobs, just cross the street. It's fitting that Ten Thousand is in the old Starbucks location since it seems that they too will be selling sugar in a cup; though without all the bad ethics (I hope). read more

5 stars for the vibe, 3 for the drinks. The iced Americano tasted very similar to Starbucks. The Einspanner was a bit underwhelming on the espresso side and leaned heavily on milk and cream. The Onyx had a very strong chocolate flavor, you'll probably either love it or not like it at all. Overall, the drinks just weren't my personal preference. That said, I can definitely see this place becoming popular since this side of MPK doesn't have many coffee shops. read more

Stopped by during their grand opening and ordered the matcha einspanner. The drink itself is made of coffee and a matcha cream top which is different from your typical matcha einspanner which is matcha only. The coffee flavor was average but the cream top had an authentic strong matcha taste. The service was fast and the inside of the shop is decorated nicely. read more

Unfortunately I was disappointed by the coffee and pastries at Ten Thousands. We picked up an Espresso Cream Latte and the Oynx Latte. The barista did inform me that the Espresso Cream Latte only had espresso in the cream. Regardless the latte only tastes like milk with the slightest hint of espresso flavoring. Think of a coffee you finished and let the ice melt then you taste it. That's exactly how the latte taste.Really disappointing when you pay $7 for something to just taste like milk. As for the Oynx Latte. The latte had a bit more flavor inside of it but still was disappointing. Reminded me of the burnt ends after you remove a brownie from its tray. The matcha chocolate macaron was okay. I wouldn't really get it again as it didn't really taste like matcha or have any chocolate either. Finally the best part was the Oreo Castelia which was still average but better than everything else. Just a standard chocolate cake with Oreo creme. Aside from the food the service was lovely and extremely fast. I had my drink within 3-4 mins. Restrooms were also very nice and clean. Unfortunately I don't think i visit again until maybe a few months down to see if they improve. read more

I asked if it was an actual matcha einspanner (matcha as a base and cream top) since the pic they had on counter looked like a coffee drink, the guy told us that was not the actual drink and that it was green a lot greener than the pic so I assumed it was a regular matcha einspanner like every other place but nope it's basically just coffee with matcha cream top.
