    Einspänner

With everything going up in price, it's hard to not have a reaction with hefty price tags, and this place is no exception. I will say, it was a very tasty and decadent cup of calories. I had the Einspänner and it was delicious. The place was simple, clean and nice. The service was good - informative, patient and friendly. I would go back for a treat here and there, but can't afford to be a regular. I would say you gotta give it a try and see how you like it.

Ten Thousand Coffee? Never heard of it. Seeing that this chain has locations all over the world, I knew I had to try it soon. We arrived to this spot this past Sunday at around 10:35 AM. We were greeted immediately and the girl working the register went ahead and explained all of their top drinks since it was our first time. We ordered the following: **Onyx Latte: The top of the drink tasked like water with a hint of chocolate. When mixed up and drank with a straw, it tasted like watered down chocolate. Not only did I not taste any cold brew, the whole drink was watered down. Easily the more disappointing cold brew based drink I have ever had in my life. Did they forget the cold brew or was it prepared very very poorly? (0/5) **Einspanner: You can taste a hint of espresso within the drink but it was so light. It was semi sweet and the cream was nothing special. The presentation was also not appealing. I generally like einspanners from other spots but this one was absolutely subpar. (2/5) What a huge disappointment, Ten Thousand Coffee. We paid $15 for a watered down chocolate drink and a you-can-barely-taste-espresso einspanner. The cups were also terrible - the lid is poorly designed that you need to use a straw unless you want to spill all over yourself with the opening being towards the middle of the cup. The only good thing from this visit was the excellent customer service and the subtle interior aesthetics.

#189 in my Coffeeshop Chronicles. Ten Thousand Coffee is an international specialty coffee brand that originated in Australia but was popularized in South Korea. The brand essentially combined the tenets of South Korean cafe culture with the specialty roasting techniques and coffee bean profiles of Australia. As for the brand name, it was inspired by the amount of time their team invested into creating their menu and perfecting their specialty coffee. Ten Thousand Coffee recently opened their first West Coast franchise storefront in Monterey Park, located where the Starbucks used to be. My friend and I stopped by a week after their grand opening, and luckily there was no line. We tried the Black sesame einspanner and the Jeju green tangerine matcha. The espresso in the einspanner was a bold dark roast that paired perfectly with the sweet and nutty black sesame cream. The tangerine matcha was a citrusy sparkling beverage with just a hint of matcha, and it was pretty refreshing in the afternoon heat. We enjoyed both drinks, and will likely return to try out the rest of their menu. ****************** My Ratings: 1 Star: Terrible; just thinking about it makes me angry. 2 Stars: Wasn't a fan so Not likely to return. 3 Stars: Meh. Average. Might return if others drag me. 4 Stars: Yum! Likely to return. 5 Stars: Amazing! Would plan my day around it.

This new spot in Monterey Park is really nicely designed. I love the aesthetic of the interior, and the coffee was honestly impressive. The black sesame Einspanner and the Onyx latte were both really good and unique. Their specialty drinks definitely stand out and feel like a step above the usual coffee shop menu. There's plenty of indoor seating along with outlets and wifi, so it's a solid place to get work done. The wifi only lasts an hour at a time, but you can reconnect easily. They also charge an extra dollar for additional cups, which probably won't matter unless you specifically need one. There's outdoor seating as well, and the location is super convenient since it's in a plaza surrounded by different food spots and markets. I would definitely come back again for both the Onyx latte and the black sesame Einspanner.

I was intrigued to see this Sydney-based chain take over the old Starbucks on Atlantic Blvd. With locations in NYC and Seoul, it's a bold addition to the neighborhood, even if it feels like a bit of an "odd" fit for the area. The aesthetic is ultra-modern -- crisp white walls and minimalist furniture. Indoor seating is tight, though there are a few tables outside. I tried their signature Einspanner ($6.95), a cream latte recommended by the staff. Unfortunately, it missed the mark for me. The cream was so thick it wouldn't incorporate into the espresso, and the presentation felt a bit messy with the heaps of cream sitting awkwardly over the ice. It's clear the shop is still finding its footing. While I'm happy to see more variety in Monterey Park, there are better coffee spots nearby. I might return eventually, but I'm not in any rush.

$1 for this cup. My nephew paid for it. I would have never paid for it...

Tried the Einspanner. It looked decent, but the coffee was weak. My aunt took a sip & said Danbi in Pasadena was way better ! ---------------///-----------:///////---- Charged $1 for an empty cup! Stupid place ever!! I don't care if your coffee is good. Ridiculous!!

So get there a tad early before they open (7am)and wait it out. :) Credit Cards: They're accepted Restroom: There's a restroom available. Even though it has a number pad, it doesn't require a code for now. WIFI: They do have wifi. I just haven't tried it out yet. They also have some oulets to plug in. Visitation Rights: 2 times to get a $1 Onyx drink and drip coffee. You gotta maximize on the promo! Yes, I'm a earlier riser! :) Location/Parking: Located in the Atlantic Square plaza. It use to be a Starbucks location. Plenty of parking for all. Ambiance/Decor: Neat ambiance with modern furnishings. There's seating inside and outside in their outdoor patio. Service: Service is great. Kei (store manager) and staffers are like a well oiled machine. They're quite friendly, informative about their shop, and drinks come out at a decent time. Drink Of Choice: I've had the columbia huila drip coffee and the Onyx (House blend Cold Brew, infused with Chicory and Black Cacao). Both of the drinks were quite good. Please note that they charge $1 for a extra cup. Same goes with asking for a cup of water. So if you need water, bring your own bottle and ask for water. Pastry Of Choice: Pastries are made in-house. I got the ham and cheese and thought it was good. Flakey and tasty. Ten Thousand For Thought: I wouldn't mind coming back to enjoy a cup of java. :)

On a recent Monday in late afternoon , I took the opportunity to try out this new cafe in Monterey Park because of close proximity to my next event. It's a small corner cafe, with bright, minimalistic modern design. The tone is bright and warm. Service is very friendly. The barista recommends their Einspanner iced which is their signature cream latte serve with expresso. It's basically a double shot expresso with cream and powders with ice cube. I like the layers of taste, it's much more than regular iced double shot expresso, but of course I finished it rather quickly lol. I love expresso in general. They do offer WiFi, small tables, the ambiance is actually welcoming. Not recommended for big party or large gatherings more than four.

    Matcha Einspanner and Mango Lattice

This new coffee shop just opened up in the Atlantic Square in Monterey Park, replacing the Starbucks that used to be in the plaza next to Yogurtland. They specialize in quality coffee and the signature Einspanner, with locations in New York City, Seoul, Taiwan, Vietnam, Manila, and now Monterey Park. They're currently in their grand opening week (May 2 - May 8) with their $1 promo deal for their signature drinks (Einspanner, Onyx latte, Matcha Einspanner, and Espresso cream latte) to the first 100 customers. They open at 7am, and I came on Monday around 8am and was able to claim the $1 deal. The first 100 was claimed by around 8:30am. It was pretty busy in the early weekday morning, but started to slow later in the morning. According to their website, this coffee shop originated from Sydney, Australia with the name 10000' originating from the "10,000-hours" their team invested into creating the perfect cup of coffee. Their NYC, Sydney, and Decaf coffee blends are crafted from hand-selected, specialty-grade beans at local roasting facilities in Brooklyn, N.Y. I got their Matcha Einspanner which is an espresso latte with a matcha cream top. I got this with almond milk which was an additional $1 charge (but worth considering the drink itself was only $1 from the promo). The espresso flavor was really well-balanced and I enjoyed the flavor of the drink with the almond milk. The matcha cream was sweet with some flavor of matcha, though not that strong. I really enjoyed their mini mango lattice pastry! It had a mango filling that was not too sweet inside a flaky, lattice-topped crust, and it was only $1.50. I had it warmed up, and it was delectable. There is a good amount of tables and seats available inside and outside, along with outlets along the bench seat inside. They offer free guest wifi. Overall a great new addition to the plaza! Would definitely come back to try their other specialty drinks!

I came twice for the 1 dollar promotion during their opening week and I thought it was great! I got the matcha einspanner both times and I think they make a great cream top however I will say their consistency needs work. The first matcha einspanner I got was great. The cream top had a perfect consistency and the espresso woke me up instantly. However the second time I got the matcha einspanner, the cream top was clumpy and not as well presented it is their morning rush though! I can appreciate the drinks coming out quick and fast ! It only took 2 mins or so after I ordered. I will say if you're looking for a less creamy drink then I would opt for the lattes. The einspanner drinks are very cream and milk forward. I think this place is pretty aesthetic and can double as a study spot since they open early or a place to catch up with friends.

Drinks were great and is what kept it up at 4 star review but service was quite odd.. Long story short, staff need more training and only 1 staff (Kyle) was helpful and made my entire experience more than better that I would still come back. Staff taking our order needs a ton of training, we visited on a Wed 5/13/2026 around 9:30am. She had a hard time finding most of the buttons on the POS system, which was understandable since it was a new coffee shop that just opened last week. Asked if she liked the Matcha Einspanner, her response was quite off putting. She awkwardly laughed and hesitantly said "uhh yes..? I think it's ok" Ordered 3 drinks, she said the total was only about $14. I confirmed if she got all 3 drinks for my order, she repeated and confirmed my 3 drink order but also went ahead and added my 3rd drink. The final total made more sense. However, after my final total she rendered my order for me to pay. All my cards were declined, not sure what happened. I tried 3 different cards and 4 different times (3 taps, 1 final inserted card). Luckily, my colleague came with me and she added other drinks to the order and she was able to tap to pay with no issues. I thought something had happened to my entire wallet and all my cards were jeopardized, that was not the case. My card worked fine at the Ralphs in shared plaza about 5 minutes after. There was also a mix up with my order. The staff that took my order went to an older Korean staff to have them correct the order. They were both very confused with each other. Kyle stepped in and explained to both of them how to correct the order. Not only did he help correct and explain what was wrong to them while he was busy making other drinks, he also made sure to ask if rest of my order was correct. Without Kyle today, I don't think I would be returning. If Kyle is there every time I visit I would be extremely happy. Matcha Einspanner -first time ever seeing Matcha cold foam over espresso. Surprisingly the matcha shines through the expresso and you can takes both. Slightly too sweet but still enjoyable. Matcha Latte -solid matcha drink. Also slightly too sweet. Purple Sweet Potato Latte - really good, tasted as I expected it to. Black Sesame Einspanner - as expected, strong black sesame and good coffee. Onyx Latte - tasted like watered down Cacao water, not creamy or a even a trace of coffee flavor. Would not order this again. Jeju Green Tangerine Matcha -wow soo good and refreshing. Love the carbonation. Not too sweet. Dark Chocolate Latte -topped with chocolate shaving and added a some texture to the creamy chocolate milk. If you need to grab something for a kiddo this might be good. Not too sweet.

I was one of the first 100 people that got their $1 drink special. I decided to try the matcha einspanner and my friend got the einspanner. For their syrups , it is only $1 extra. The good thing about their drinks is that it could come either hot or cold. The lids are to the side when you go to pick up your drink. The drinks also came out pretty quickly despite a line that formed. Inside they offered seats and free WiFi. They also have seating outside. Their promotion is still going on this week.

Tried this place in New York before and loved it, so I was really excited when they opened one right in Monterey park and honestly, the exact same thing, still loving it. I came during their grand opening special where certain signature drinks were only $1. I got the Onyx Latte and the Einspanner latte, and both were really good. The coffee flavor was strong and blended really well with the drinks without being overly sweet. Honestly a perfect balance but I do wish they had an option to reduce the sweetness for the Onyx latte though. There's a good amount of seating but it does get busy during the morning (maybe because it is new?), and they offer free WiFi for an hour, making it a nice spot to get some work done. Service was really friendly, helpful, and fast. Parking was also really easy. Would definitely come back!

The coffee was well-made - it wasn't burnt, overly bitter, or sour, so the extraction seemed solid. However, the flavor felt flat and watered down. It lacked the aroma, body, and rich roasted notes that make a cup memorable. Nothing really stood out, leaving it tasting more diluted than satisfying. Also, I don't think the barista could froth the coffee well. Instead of a nice velvety, dense froth, the froth was a bubbly foam (see photo). Food - 3/5. I visited around 9 a.m., but the pastry selection was surprisingly limited (see photo). The pastries also didn't taste particularly fresh; they had more of the texture and flavor you'd expect from pastries sitting out later in the day rather than freshly baked items you'd hope to find early in the morning. The café has a modern, hip vibe and a warm, inviting atmosphere. It's spacious, with plenty of seating, making it a pleasant place to spend some time. Overall, Smoking Tiger Coffee Lab is a fine neighborhood café if you're looking for a comfortable place to sit and enjoy a coffee. Unfortunately, neither the coffee nor the food left much of an impression. Nothing was particularly bad, but nothing really stood out either. While the ambiance is probably its strongest point, the coffee is just average.

Went to Vida Pura and got their breakfast burrito. It's been on my bucket list for a while, and…read moreneedless to say, it was definitely worth it. I'm glad I finally got around to trying it. I loved the avocado and hash brown combination, and the salsa that came with it paired really well, a little kick with it. The portion size was great and definitely filled me up. The service was fast, but seating is pretty limited since it's mainly outdoors. Parking can be a little rough because it's street parking only, and it was pretty full when I came on a Saturday morning. I would definitely come back. I also saw that they make coffee and matcha drinks, and they all looked really good, so I'd definitely come back to try that next time!

Vida Pura is a Latina-owned plant based cafe located in the heart of East LA. It was formerly a…read morevegan food truck and eventually became the current brick-and-mortar cafe. [Parking]: Free small public parking lot directly across from the shop. [Amenities]: This is a really small coffee shop with no indoor tables and only two small outdoor tables. No restroom is available. [Menu]: Yelp's top highlighted items are the Breakfast Burrito, Teddy Bear (double espresso, agave, housemade vanilla cold foam, Teddy Grahams), and Banana Nut. All drinks are made with oat milk. Please note that the kitchen closes at 1 PM on Monday - Tuesday and 2 PM on Wednesday- Sunday even though the cafe remains open for another 1 - 2 hours. Come early for anyone wanting to try kitchen items like breakfast burrito or breakfast sandwich. *** Banana nut (double espresso, house made vanilla cold foam, house made banana syrup - medium $7.50): It came with two banana chips. The cold foam was quite underrated and I could taste a hint of banana flavor. The drink wasn't as sweet as I had expected - I liked it. Breakfast burrito (Refried beans, soyrizo, tofu scramble, crispy hashbrowns and sliced avocado wrapped in a flour tortilla - $13.50): Portion wasn't huge, but it also wasn't small enough to finish in one sitting. It had one of the softest texture for breakfast burritos. The soyrizo was very flavorful. It also came with a side of salsa - quite spicy but flavorful at the same time. *** I probably still prefer meat-based breakfast burritos, but their soyrizo breakfast burrito is quite good and the coffee drink is excellent (4.5-star for both items). I would definitely recommend this small coffee shop for a quick grab-and-go.
