Sweethoney is a go-to for mango lovers -- literally every mango dessert hits. Refreshing, not too sweet, and super photogenic. Love that they also have a BOGO drink special (major win). Amazing food! Fresh and delicious fruit, amazing ice cream flavors! The vanilla frost was like a milk bing-su. The rice balls were incredible too!!
Tried their strawberry soufflé pancakes a while back and enjoyed it so much, they're so fluffy! This time I was craving durian so I ordered the durian with glutinous rice and ice with vanilla. It was nice and I enjoyed the flavors and textures, the smooth durian, chewy rice, and cold refreshing shaved ice. Staff seemed tired it was around 8 pm on a Saturday so that's understandable. Will pop in whenever I'm in the area!

Stumbled across this place while searching for mango desserts. This place offers a plethora of mango desserts. Enjoyed the Mango Sago jelly with green tea ice cream. The service was delightful.
RIP to the one that used to be in Hacienda Heights. The Alhambra location is the final Sweethoney Dessert standing bastion in the 626. If you're looking to get dessert, but not entirely sure where to go or even just a place to get some drinks or snacks, this is the place to go! They have 2 different back to back menus and a souffle pancake menus, so there's lots to order here! Their savory snacks include different shumai, fries, popcorn chicken, onion rings, etc. Different flavors and a multitude of variations of their souffle pancakes, HK egg waffles, fruit platters, shaved ice with fruit, hot and cold dessert soups, grass jelly dishes, peach gum dishes, almond jelly, and also drinks too. Complimentary ice water too, to balance out the sweetness of their desserts. We got the Sesame and Almond Soup with Sesame rice balls. Comes with 3 delicious chewy sesame rice balls and the slight saltiness of the sesame inside is a yummy contrast to the not so sweet soup round. Not too thick and not too watery for the soup, good stuff all around.
They have "Asian service" where they don't prioritize customer service vs other businesses that do, so if that's an issue, then there are other places to choose from. Service here is a lot nicer than a few other Asian eateries Me and my bf came here twice for dessert. There's always seating so they let you sit wherever you want. We've only had the durian grass jelly with vanilla frost and the M10 (the mango dessert with rice balls and vanilla ice cream). We liked the durian one more since it was creamier. The mango one is good, but the tartness of the purée was overpowering, so the vanilla ice cream balanced out the tartness. The rice balls were pretty bland but had a nice chew. Mangos were ripe and delish. The menu is huge so they have egg waffles and boba drinks if you want something else. They even have a healthy dessert selection if your yeet hay levels are too high. Would return to order other desserts.
Ordered the vanilla frost with fruits and matcha ice cream. In all honesty, it was way too sweet for me, but that could just be me. Giving it 3 stars since I wasn't able to finish the dessert due to its overpowering sweetness from the vanilla frost. Service, dessert presentation, and cleanliness were solid though!
Looking for an alternative over Meet Fresh? Sweet honey is a good alternative to try! Been here two times so far, and ordered their Durian with ice frost and grassy jelly and mango with ice cream and mochi. Personally, I preferred the durian with ice frost and grass jelly. The durian pulp was fresh and creamy, and I really liked the texture and flavor of the ice frost. The mango with ice cream and mochi was good as well, but it be a little too tart for me. If you love tart though, the mango would be perfect for you. Service was pretty standard. The dessert plates came out like within 10 mins of ordering. You pay at the register after you finish. There's garage parking in the plaza where Sweethoney is located.
I've been to Sweethoney Dessert maybe 2x now. The most recent time I ordered from Postmates and got the following on 6/9/2023 (prices via Postmates app 6/2023): + Papaya Milk Iced 木瓜鮮奶 $7.19 Sweet Level - Less Sweet Pretty good, but they give you a pretty small cup. You have to drink papaya milk pretty soon after it's mixed since the papaya and milk start separating. + Strawberry Mango Peach Gum 草莓芒果桃膠 $7.79 Sweet Level - Less Sweet This one was pretty refreshing. The sweetness was just right when you ask for less sweet. I'm not sure if I personally like peach gum in my drinks since the texture is a little bit more soft. However, I quite enjoyed the strawberry + mango flavors. + Mango Pomelo Sago Tofu Pudding 楊枝甘露豆腐花 $10.95 Pretty yummy. A little overpriced. Overall, my items were decent but just a little pricey. I'm not sure if I would come back.
Their Japanese pancakes are absolutely to die for! The size is perfect about four inches, just like a fluffy little cake. The texture is incredibly light, with a delicate, almost cloud-like egg white that isn't overly sweet. I fell in love with it as soon as I took my first bite! Alongside, their fruit and egg waffles are also delicious, though please note they only start serving them from 2pm, so it's a good idea to confirm their hours before you go. The menu is filled with all sorts of Hong Kong-style delights snacks galore! I can't wait to go back.

Was a bit confused walking in because I was not sure where to order (kiosk? counter?); but kiosk is for to-go orders and if you are dining in, just seat yourself somewhere and the server will come to you with menus. Desserts were decent but not sure I would come here unless for convenience or other dessert places are crowded. We ordered the hk egg waffles which was good imo (but my hk bf says otherwise, he said it needed more "egg" flavor). We also got M4 (mango pomelo sago grass jelly) to share which honestly was meh. I looove sago desserts so it did satisfy my cravings but I wouldn't come here for it in the future. Inside is quite spacious and pretty empty when we came here on a Thurs night.
Worst dessert I've ever had in my life. I'm Cantonese and the mango dessert is the most basic and popular dessert. This store does not know how to make the basics. My friend got the M5 仙草杨枝甘露and another got the little egg waffles鸡蛋仔。 The mango dessert base is very very bland, no mango flavor. The mangos themselves are the wrong type of mangoes, the cheaper ones. Not only that, they are very very unripe, very very raw. Mangoes were almost crunchy in texture when it's supposed to be smooth and sweet. The egg waffles 鸡蛋仔 is an absolute disaster. It's not crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. They have successfully destroyed Cantonese classics. I told my Cantonese friends where I went and they all laughed. Apparently everyone knows this place is the worst except me. I usually don't even leave reviews but I had to for this one. 两个字，难吃。三个字，很难吃。

I just wanted something sweet! But not too sweet! These were perfect! Mango sago with extra sides of rice balls and tofu pudding. Mango is so sweet and fresh! My friend got the drink version. Bowl version 1000% better! read more

I've been to this Sweethoney location a few times and I feel like each time I come, it gets dirtier and dirtier. The staff here never really seem to be too friendly/they don't want to be there. The items we order, which are usually the same, are wildly inconsistent, being more miss than hit. Other Sweethoney locations are usually good and we enjoy what we order. However, this location, is quite depressing in food and service. read more
These desserts are the perfect Asian sweetness and felt even refreshing to eat. Watermelon sago was delightful and seasonal. The mango sago is great and has a slight tartness from the fresh sliced mangos on top. Located in a plaza and parking can be challenging. read more

This place seemed pretty promising given the selection of items. I was sadly mistaken and it was not good. [Food] Mango Coco Grass Jelly (3/5): The mango was really bad. It was the stringy type of mango and it wasn't sweet. The grass jelly wasn't sweet as well and to be honest, I really thought the dishes would be sweet hence "sweethoney dessert". Purple Yam Peach Gum Milk (2/5): It tasted like purple yam and milk. There really wasn't anything special about it. You would sometimes get bits and piece of the yam in there which would surprise me and again, it was not sweet. Egg Waffle (3.5/5): You really cannot mess up an egg waffle. It just needs to be crispy and soft on the inside. This place didn't mess it up which is nice but I know I've had better egg waffles elsewhere. [Service] The service here was pretty slow. The desserts that my party and I ordered came in super slow. I got mine first after 15 minutes, then another 5 minutes my friends dish, and then another 10 minutes for my other friends dish. I do understand that it could be busy but it did not look that busy in the shop. Still, they tried to provide the best service they could. [Ambiance] I would like to say whoever was playing the music here played super great music. Excellent playlist. It wasn't that loud in the establishment so I would give the ambiance a 4/5. Overall, I don't think this place is worth it at all. Pretty expensive and long wait times, I'd rather go to another dessert spot. read more

Mango Pomelo Sago & Tofu Pudding and it was alright, I feel like they could've added another ingredient to give it a bit more dimension, maybe made the mango puree a bit icy for a little crunchiness, because everything was so soft. There was barely any pomelo in my dessert, the only thing I liked was the cut mango and sago. For what I got, it was definitely pricey since we also tipped. :: Service :: Customer service was decent, it was just confusing since we didn't know if they wanted us to order from the kiosk or if someone was going to take our order so we had to wait a bit for someone to assist us. :: Parking :: There's street parking or a parking garage in the back. read more
We got the mango coco tofu pudding (4.5/5), a popcorn chicken (4/5), durian and matcha ice cream with vanilla frost (5/5), and an egg waffle (3/5). They were all refreshing and just to my taste. Not super sweet, which made it easy to finish. Service was quick. We got seated and served lemon water right away. Very courteous. Very spacious and good for family. Highly recommend! read more

This is my 2nd time here, and both times were kind of a dud. The first time, I got a mango dish, and it was so bad that I was going to order something else after 2 bites. The server asked why I was ordering g another item, and when I told them, they even knew it didn't taste good. The 2nd time as the most recent, I got the deluxe coconut jelly. When you look at the description, it doesn't even mention the flavor of ice cream. So one can only go by the picture. It shows a pink ice cream, which reasonably I assume is strawberry ice cream. The description only lists taro as taro, not taro ice cream. I asked the server, and she said this has always come with taro ice cream but wouldn't explain why it's shown with strawberry ice cream on the menu or how I'm supposed to know that it had always cone with taro ice cream. I had to order strawberry ice cream separately to get what is shown on the menu. I gave this place 2 chances, and I'm not even gonna try anymore. If you feel like taking your chances, by all means...just know you might have to pay for more food to get what you actually want that tastes good because it's not gonna come right the first time. read more
I think the souffle is OK. It was moist and the mago was fresh. The store is big and has parking. However, my server was a bit rude. She asked us if we want to take out or sit in and while we were thinking because it's our first time there, she said Sit! The souffle is $16 ish and you have to wait for 20 minutes. I guess it's a 3 stars it is! read more

A fantastic Hong Kong style dessert place! Asian desserts will always have my heart because they are not super sweet :') There are a lot of choices when you come, but the portion sizes aren't super big so if you're going with someone else I would get two items so you can try them or a couple if you're going with lots of people. However, while the portion sizes aren't big they are the perfect size (idk if that makes sense haha). We got M10, strawberry pancakes, almond soup w/ tofu pudding, and sesame and almond soup. The japanese style pancakes were a little too eggy and dense for me so I wouldn't get them again, but everything else was delicious! My personal favorite was the sesame and almond soup and M10. If you're in the mood for Hong Kong style desserts or just want dessert that is not overly sweet, try this place out! read more

The desserts here are phenomenal! Not too sweet, as to fit the typical Asian palette. It is a bit on the pricier side. A small pomelo and mango sago drink ended up being around $9 for a very small portion. It was enough to satisfy me, but I would prefer to get more than enough for that price. I like their almond desserts too, and their bubble waffles are good as well. I had their durian pancake ones, and it was alright. Originally I had wanted the mango one but they were out of stock. The service is prompt and the restaurant environment is clean and quiet. Definitely would go back again! read more
Shaved ice with mango and purple rice 5/5 - this was really good and refreshing! The rice made it really filling but I liked how it's not too sweet. It was the perfect amount for two people. Black sesame glutinous balls 4/5 - these were typical black sesame rice balls. Nothing special. Pricey for only two but expected here. The store has indoor seating. Was in the mood for something sweet and came across this place. Menu they placed out front had a great variety of options. And they happen to have a bogo deal. I went in and saw a kiosk for takeout but fairly empty inside so figured I would order with the staff. She told me takeout orders by machine so I went and proceeded to order but got to the end and was getting charged full price so asked if the deal was still going on. She then said deals you order with me. Okaaay..... The drinks were good not too sweet amd good tezxture for the boba and jelly. Service could really use work. I mean it wasn't even busy inside. Nah. We ordered: Mango pancake, mango tofu pudding, coconut milk w/ lotus seed & snow fungus. The mango pancake - what made it bad was that the mango wasn't ripe at all and was sour. But that's what the pancake was filled with...a thick slice of fresh unripe sour mango. The mango tofu pudding. It was good until you ate all the cut up chunks of fresh mango which were also very firm, unripe, stringy and sour. It would be a lot better if they used ataulfo mangoes because they don't have that stringy texture. The only good thing was the coconut milk w/ lotus seed & white fungus except it was sooo tiny. read more
Ordered M10 mini glutinous rice balls with vanilla ice cream and M5 Mango sago. M10 was alright , it was mango slushy on the bottom with rice balls on the side topped with vanilla ice cream. The mango slush didn't have any flavor or sweetness so the vanilla ice cream created a perfect balance in between. M5 mango fruit pieces mixed with clear tapioca balls (sago) I'm not sure if it was not mango season but the mangos tasted sour and it really made the whole dessert unappealing. Maybe it was a one off situation not sure what happened here. read more
3.5 stars This is a Hong Kong style dessert place, so unless you're familiar with it, you might not actually enjoy it. Well, this kinda turned out to be true for me. I got the Sesame & Walnut Soup w/ Black Sesame Mochi. I loved the creaminess and thought it was well made. The sesame overpowered the walnut, but still good. The other item I got was the Purple Yam Peach Gum Milk..and this was not very dessert-like... It just wasn't for me and I can't tell if it was the shredded potato or the saltiness of the drink that made me cringe, but it felt like it was one ingredient shy of being a savory potato soup. The first was great and to my taste, but the other order was not. I will still be back to try their other desserts though! read more

Parking: There's a couple parking structures nearby that include 2 hour parking. Can also try to find street parking! Ambience: It's decently sized and has cute / chill vibes :) Service: Friendly! Taste: Loved everything! Definitely one of my favorite Hong Kong style dessert places :) The menu is extensive, ranging from various drinks and milk teas to pancakes to savory snacks such as popcorn chicken, takoyaki, onion rings, etc. There are so many different flavors and options that it can actually be hard to choose, so I'd recommend coming with friends so you can try a little bit of everything! We each got something different to sample from, and we all enjoyed everything. Come here for reasonably priced desserts and snacks that aren't too indulgent or surgary, yet hearty and satisfies the sweet tooth! read more

I came to check out the matcha souffle pancake and strawberry & cream eggette. None of these desserts were memorable. Pancake doesn't seem to cook completely. It was soggy and gross. The eggette was overcooked and hard to chew. Either one was worth the money. Service was decent. I don't need to come again. It does look great for picture but not amazing in your mouth. So bummed they don't serve the Japanese style fluffy pancakes at night! I'd saved myself from dinner just to stuff myself with these pillowy creations! Our party ordered the Mango pancakes (OK); Grass Jelly and Match Ice Cream with Snow Frost (better than expected!); Durian Pudding (really good! if you love durian, get this!); Tofu Pudding (ordinary); and Mango Coco Tofu Pudding (average). So yeah, I think the Durian Pudding single handily upped an originally 3-star ranking to 4, for me. Now only if they served the fluffy pancakes.... read more

Is it still BOGO happy hour?
Yes! Just like the menu photo. Went today and looks likes BOGO specials for some desserts and some drinks are available M-F 2-7pm and Sat-Sun 12-5pm
Are these desserts vegan friendly?
I think it depends on what you order. The tofu pudding is for example but not the souffle. They don't advertise as vegan, but there are vegan friendly items
Does the place have a strong durian smell inside?
Not strong but it's definitely noticeable when you walk inside. But you'll get used to it after a few minutes.
Is there a certain time I am able to order the souffle pancakes?
Anytime just have to wait 15-20 min for it after.....
