I've been to their other location in Diamond Bar a few times. This is my first time at the San Marino location. The store is small with few seatings in the back along the long narrow space. The interior is nice and clean and decorated with a minimalistic aesthetic. There was a also a line when I got here however went fairly quickly. I really love the different types of specialty jelly they have you can add to your drink. I ordered the misty oolong milk tea with osmanthus jelly added. Omanthus jelly is my go to depending on what type of drink. The drink was not too sweet and had a hint of oolong while balanced with a slight sweetness from the osmanthus jelly. Always like to come back! There are always different drinks to try!
This is my new favorite place to get boba! I love their unique flavors. Their top two were their Popcorn Milktea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi and the Ember Milktea with Barley Jelly. My girlfriend and I tried these two and they were so delicious. I love the tapiochi and the popcorn milktea actually tastes like popcorn but not in like an insane/weird way. The drinks here really do manage to capture the essence/vibe of the flavor. The ember drink has a smoky taste that reminds you of the taste of fire somehow. I also love the tapiochi! Never had anything like that! Also shoutout to Yoyo B who was really cool and funny and offered us great suggestions on drinks based on what we typically would order.
Aesthetic boba shop with unique drinks in the San Marino area! I got the popcorn milktea with brown sugar tapiochi and it was good, but felt that it could've been better. I was skeptical about the 'popcorn' flavor, but I actually liked it. However, the drink was on the milkier/watered down side. I would've liked more flavor. I did enjoy the brown sugar tapiochi which was soft, chewy, and provided a good amount of sweetness. For around $8, it was on the pricier side for a boba drink. The interior is pretty and I like how the staff does crowd control. They only have a hallway where you can sit with no tables, so not the most ideal for a longer stay. They do have tons of free and easy parking in front which is a plus. I would definitely come back to try the other drinks before I decide to recommend this chain to others.
It was ok, had higher expectations. Ember Milk Tea with Barley Jelly ($7.85) Tea flavor could be stronger. Has some oolong taste, and a bit nutty after taste like the staff member mentioned. Not too sweet, creamy but not too creamy. The barley jelly is my favorite! It has so much flavor!! Perfect ice is perfect. The ambiance is nice just like the Diamond Bar location. It does feel a bit smaller and crammed though. Parking in the front is free. Had to park more to the left side though. They offer free lemonade water (spa water) right outside the entrance and sunscreen too! Even though there's a lot of people, I didn't have to wait too long. The staff member that helped me was very nice. I've like their other drinks before but just not the drink I got this time. Also, the price point is very high.
Finally had the chance to drop by and try this place! We've always driven by and seen a line but never had the time to go! But we had the chance to go last week and wow! They have the art of lines down to a science! Their store from the outside looks decently sized, but when you go in there's like this really tiny hallway where there are like these seats that are on a concrete slab which makes that hallway even smaller. I didn't really like the flow of the store because of that because there's this big square room that sticks out (I think this is there kitchen?) It feels so unnecessary, aren't boba shops suppose to feel welcoming? Because the size of this shop it can make the line stack up even when there's not a lot of people. Pretty smart for them because what drew me is was the line and this shop is on the main room with a subtle sign so it can be hard to miss But aside from that I enjoyed their drinks! Their boba is so unique, it's like a mochi boba fusion - really yummy! I got their popcorn drink and my fiancé got their osmanthus drink They both were really good! But I preferred the osmanthus drink because the tea was so strong and flavorful but not bitter! Drinks are a bit pricy and one size only I would like to come back but it would have to be a like a once in a while treat
I tried their limited edition matcha duo einspänner and really enjoyed it. The dark green layer on top looked beautiful and tasted just as good. I also appreciate that their drinks aren't overly sweet. It was perfectly balanced without needing to adjust the sugar level. The place itself is very aesthetic and I was warmly welcomed by the friendly staff. Overall, a great experience. I'd give it a solid 4/5.
I got some Torotea deliver by my friends who were in the area so take note that I got this tea probably an hour past when I was supposed to drink it lol. I ordered the Koan-Im Oolong milk tea with their tapiochi, and the misty oolong milk tea with creme brulee and also tapiochi. I think that I generally prefer standard boba to the tapiochi topping, it is more of a mochi style, easily chewed than swallowed. As for the teas themselves, I greatly preferred the Koan-Im's darker flavor to the light of the misty one, and the creme brulee top was pretty tasty. I don't think this is one of my preferred places, but also maybe it is because I didn't get their specialty popcorn milk tea. No clue about the ambience inside, since I got it delivered, but their website and cup holder that the drinks came in were very aesthetic!
Went on a Saturday late morning and got parking right in front! Saw a Nice seating area in front and walked in. I was instantly saw how. Ice the interior looked. I saw to my right a very kind person behind the counter, Mathew. He walked me through the menu and offered the popcorn milk tea and the jasmine oolong. Talked to Mathew for a few minutes and he talked About the jellies they put I. And everything. Got my order with these fancy carry cases!!! The taste of the popcorn miles... OMG! The initial Sip was memorable! Later on my long drive I finally took a sip of the jasmine oolong... was still cold and I personally like this a lot more than the popcorn one. Not saying one is less than, but I personally liked the flowery sweet of the jasmine milk tea. When I am in the area again, I plan to come Back!!
The Tapiochi here at Torotea is literally the best topping in a milk tea that I've ever had. And I've been an avid milk tea drinker for almost all my life, LOL. I loved the square-ish shape, size, and texture of it. It really WAS like mochi boba. The projector menu was clear to read and pretty cool! The shop is quite small with not a lot of standing/sitting space. There are a lot of options for drinks, so I honestly had a hard time deciding because everything seemed so good. I got the popcorn milk tea, less sweet, perfect ice, and black tea Tapiochi. I would probably opt for perfect sweet next time, as the popcorn flavor wasn't too apparent. I tried the brown sugar Tapiochi in a different drink, and I definitely prefer the black tea Tapiochi. I liked the flavor of the black tea over the sweeter brown sugar. There is a decent amount of street parking and a bathroom. We made the drive from LA to come here, and I would do it again just to have the Tapiochi again. There's also many drinks I'd like to try. Definitely recommend!!!
look i am a broke college student and id spend my hard earned pennie's at torotea im not even joking. i've got the worst sweet tooth on planet earth like its BAAAAAD i get everything 150% sweet, but i needed to go lighter today. I was close to torotea and never had it before.... so i was like "what if i get something unsweetened and pray i can handle it--" OMFG THE QUALITY OF THIS PLACE IS GOOD. like ugh i love when i can trust a chain the bc the Manor Black Milk Tea was genuinely delicious unsweetened it's like magic. call me unc for not getting something with sugar and actually enjoying it. look and i'm a former bobarista too i know what good tea is :/ ?!?! Genesis behind the counter is SOSOSOSOSO SWEET and tolerated me interrogating her for five minutes about the flavor profiles of all the teas, especially since im into stronger stuff like black teas and hojicha. her energy was unmatched too yall give her a raise nah actually give her the franchise?! I slurped up that thing in 4 minutes and here's proof: XOXOOOO :P (ps: also i see where my 8 dollar drink is going bc why does every torotea hire a personal architect to make the inside look like a foodie influencer drew what they thought a cave in the desert looks like... in a good way)
We tried the Popcorn Milktea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi, Matcha Einspanner, & Jasmine Oolong Milktea. Honestly, all the drinks were really good. The Jasmine Oolong Milk Tea had a great, strong tea flavor, which I really liked. The Matcha Einspanner was a bit sweeter than I usually get, but it actually worked really well and balanced nicely with the matcha. The Popcorn Milk Tea was surprisingly good, too. It doesn't really taste like popcorn, but it has a unique flavor that pairs well with the topping. I appreciate that the drinks aren't overly sweet at their regular level. The place itself is very aesthetic and clean, though there is minimal seating inside. As for parking, we were able to find a spot in front, but there aren't many spaces. I'll definitely come back to try more drinks on their menu.
Great drinks and mellow location. Street parking is a little tricky since it's on the Main Street. Love the samples they give you, different each day to explore all the flavors. Love the mochi boba things they offer, unique flavors. Most if not all of the cashiers have been very friendly and helpful. Only one did not really know what she was selling but she might have been new. The ambience is quiet and kinda small not a whole lot of tables but interesting sitting areas.
ToroTea is expanding...saw this one in SGV (on Huntington Drive) is in a long, narrow building, wedged between two lowkey business, which makes it easy to miss at night. If it wasn't for some people hanging outside looking at menu, I would had missed it. It's known for its popular Popcorn Milk Tea -- so got to try it! Very unique topping flavor and surprisingly it's pretty good. I would suggest half sweetened to full take in the essence of the popcorn flavor. The menu is projected on the white wall behind the barista. The font could be darker and bigger. I would suggest a QR-code may help a bit. The barista is nice managing the orders and tonight there were samples of dark roast sweet tea - it's good with a herbal base. As old mentioned earlier, because the interior is small (but makes up by the long narrow length), after you plane the order, you wait deeper down in the buildup. The interior gives a stony, adobe feel. read more

I LOVE torotea. Have to make a stop every time I'm in the area. Tapiochi is an elite topping and the milk tea is great. The sample was the citrus refresher and it was so good, I'll have to get that next time. There are some bench style seats down the hallway but most people wait outside. I recommend ordering online to skip the line! read more

The drinks here are really good! I had the popcorn milktea with less sweetness and it is great if you don't like super sweet drinks! I came later at night so it was zero line and the drinks came out fast! The service is also really good and it does have a seating area but it's not the biggest place. They also give free samples! Highly recommend coming back! read more
Decided to try this new spot I've been seeing on my social media! The parking can be tricky if you're going on a weekday or Saturday. I got the matcha einspanner and I usually adjust the sweetness but you don't have to for this one! There isn't seating to study, but the interior was very clean and sleek. read more

Do you know how much I wanted to hate an $8 boba?! But I ended up loving it so much i'm pretty sure we'll be back in a few days haha. Highly recommend their popcorn milk tea w tapiochi 9/10- order was made quickly and service was great (hey idk if this was on purpose but the workers are so pretty and friendly!) This is unlike any tea experience I've had in the San Gabriel Valley! To start, the interior is dreamy, reminds me of architecture I'd find in Tulum. I decided to go with the popcorn milk tea due to a positive review I saw on TikTok, and I was not disappointed. I ordered the tea exactly as it comes, with no alterations. It was so creamy and delicious, unlike anything I've had before. The popcorn flavor wasn't overwhelming, but rather added the perfect hint of salty sweetness. Next time, I'll probably order the tea on its own without the tapioca, as I found those chunks difficult to slurp with the straw and they didn't have much flavor. The service was very friendly, and they were even giving out free samples on arrival. read more

I love coming to this place for their drinks. The milk teas are always light, refreshing, and consistently on point. Today I got the Koan Oolong milk tea with brown sugar tapiochi, and it's honestly my favorite. So smooth and perfectly balanced. I also really like their oojicha einspanner it's amazing. I just wish they allowed toppings in that drink because it would make it even better. Another go-to for me is the osmanthus citrus refresher, which is super refreshing, especially on a hot day. The place is always busy, but the drinks come out pretty quickly after ordering, which I appreciate. I also like the simple, clean design and that there's a spot to sit while waiting for your drinks. Overall, one of my favorite drink spots. I'll definitely keep coming back! read more

Cute place in San Marino to try something completely different from Boba. Designed to be a a Togo place, very little space and seating, loud and echoes inside. Lots of high school looking kids hanging out and coming in. The workers are nice and trying to do their best. You'll most likely have to ask for napkins as their stacks run out quickly. So of the time they had tea free samples. The popcorn tea is a slight buttery, hint of popcorn flavor. The tapiochi is interesting, doesn't really remind me of mochi or tapioca. It's more like a thicker jelly with a brown sugar flavor. Novel profile but not worth the extra cost or time for me to get here. But if Boba isn't your thing this time might be what you are looking for. read more

I've heard a lot of great things about this place and finally had the opportunity to give this place a try. I really enjoyed the aesthetic vibes that they had, but more so the drinks...the Popcorn Milktea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi was delicious! The person helping me at the register was really helpful with giving me insights on drinks. I'd recommend this shop for anyone craving a different type of boba. read more
Finally got to try this location because the diamond bar was always crowded and I was in the area as well! I'm glad they opened on Thanksgiving day because we were looking for boba after Thanksgiving lunch~ Upon arriving I saw they were pretty crowded but turned out the crowd was not for the order line, so don't get discouraged! There are plenty of plaza along the street and this is located in one of the big streets in San Marino area. My fave is always their bamboo oolong milk tea with tapiochi! They have the same aesthetic and interior styleas diamond bar's. read more

Finally get to try torotea! Upon arrival, the interior design was simple but warm and welcoming. And I liked that the menu was projected on the wall. We ordered the crème brûlée ice milk with tapioca mochi and cassia milk tea with tapioca mochi, and they were both delicious! I'm not a big fan of boba but I enjoyed this version of the tapioca mochi. Both drinks were not overly sweet, which is perfect for me. Will definitely come back again! read more
I'm obsessed with the tapiochi! The texture is light and chewy, yet it still tastes just like classic boba. I ordered both the Misty Oolong tea and the Misty Oolong milk tea. Each had a refreshing floral flavor, and the milk tea was especially smooth and creamy. Seating inside is limited and mostly along the wall, making it more of a quick order-and-go boba spot. Service was fast and friendly, and they even offer tea samples at the front counter when you order. read more
It's nice to have a Torotea closer to home! This location is small, and parking can be challenging if you come at peak hours. There's not a lot of seating space with only one real table to sit around while the others are for standing or a bench to sit side-by-side on. Service was really nice, and it's nice that they have samples in the front as well. I tried the popcorn milk tea that I've been hearing so much about, and it was pretty good if you like creamy drinks. The "butter" taste is pretty prominent the first few steps, but becomes less noticeable overtime. The toppings they offer also pretty unique. I also wouldn't say the drinks are super sweet, which is a good thing. Overall, I would return, but for a different drink, as I wasn't that big of a fan of the popcorn milk tea. read more

This is first time visiting this place. Queue was quite long during Sunday afternoon. That time mobile order app has not been activated. Once our turn, we were served the sample tea of the day. Every menu is curated uniquely and the order taker has great knowledge in describing each beverage menu ingredients. I chose the Matcha Einspanner which surprisingly not too sweet. Great quality of drink. They also offer the option of adding the topping for $1 The decor is quite unique, as if you are in the cave area when you entered the shop. read more

I actually like this location better than their original Diamond Bar because the wait time was only 10 minutes on a Saturday afternoon and they have online pickup. Diamond Bar has a long yelp waitlist but they do have more parking. The staff was very attentive and worked efficiently. Gardenia Cold Brew: very floral with a strong oolong aftertaste. Would make for a great milk tea as well. I hope they do more cold brew offerings like a puerh and a green. Comes in a glass jar too. Pinewood Pure & Milk Tea: definitely unique from their other teas and not a flavor you can get anywhere else. It was more astringent by itself but a good balance with milk. I'm impressed by how strong it was for being an herbal tea when they're usually mellow. Uva tea is still my favorite of the pure teas. Oojicha Einspanner: I think the weakest of their drinks because the powder doesn't dissolve well and you have to stir it a lot. Osmanthus Citrus and Popcorn Milk Tea are still my favorite drinks. read more
This isn't Tattooine, Anakin! Close though. This was tucked away in a quiet strip on Huntington in San Marino, CA. It was right next to a music school. I snuck a peek, and inside, with the white stone and light natural materials, it evoked serious Luxe Minimalist Desert Oasis vibes. They were sampling some oolong milk tea, and it was delicious. I had the Popcorn Milk Tea since it was popular, plus the Ember Milk Tea with Barley Jelly for the hubs. The Popcorn Milk Tea had a hint of smokiness and butter. It came with boba pearls called Tapiochi, which I suppose is a play on tapioca and mochi. It was yummy! I think my only gripe is that each of the teas were $6-7 but it is probably for the best since I shouldn't have this too often. Too sinful! They have limited fancy seating, free wifi, and outdoor wooden stumps for you to sit and wait. Not sure if animals are allowed inside. Some diagonal parking right in front of the strip of shops where Torotea is, some are free for 2 hours, some are limited to 20 minutes. Really cute first date place, I would say. read more

Wow! Finally we got to try this fancy tea place! The last time we attempted to try was when it first opened and it was too long of a line so we gave up. I was debating if I wanted a drink because it was my friends that was craving it. However, I was intrigued by their cream brûlée cloud drink! It's very pricey but it looked so good from the yelp pictures! I decided to order it and omg it totally didn't disappoint and surprised me how good it was!!!! Their cream brûlée topping and the homemade brown sugar jelly was so delicious! I love milk and eggs flavors and this is everything I love all together! It's a dessert rather than a drink. Honestly I felt so happy having such a delicious drink! A great dopamine boost! My friends also were impressed with their drinks too! I definitely want to come back again but worried about gaining too much weight from it. lol I highly recommend this place!! The ambience was very nice and had a very different vibe than regular boba places. It feels like a high end tea shop! The quality of the tea really aligned with the atmosphere! read more

Ok so Torotea is 100% worth the hype. I came here on a Sunday on the way back from Yosemite around 4ish and the line wasn't too bad. I probably waited 15 mins or so. The line is a little misleading because they only take a party at a time at the register so it appears longer than it actually is. Once it was our turn, the girl helping us was so informative, kind, and knowledgeable about the menu. I ended up getting the popcorn milk tea (my best friend recommended), less sweet with the tapiochi and my boyfriend got the jasmine milk tea with tapiochi. Wow the popcorn milk tea was different and so yummy - you can really taste the popcorn and don't get me started on the tapiochi because what?? That texture is INSANE. My boyfriend loved his jasmine milk tea and said that was the best he's ever tried and moved Torotea to his #1 boba spot so that's saying a lot. Overall, from the service to the creative drinks and flavor, this place is solid. The interior is also visually stunning; I want my house to look like that haha. I will be returning very soon! read more

I've heard so much good things about torotea, there was a small line outside on a Friday at around 3pm, there is plenty of street parking and a small indoor area, I didn't see any tables but more of a waiting area/ area to chat. The ambiance was giving minimalistic and whites/neutrals. We ordered 2 popcorn milk teas and the drinks were nice and flavorful I could tell it was pure tea! Great first time, I would love to come back and try what they have to offer! read more

I ordered the crème brûlée icemilk with brown sugar tapiochi, and I would definitely get this again 5/5. If you don't like sweet drinks though, this drink probably isn't for you since you can't change the sweetness level (but I loved it!) The two staff members at the counter were both very kind and offered samples and drink recommendations. There's ample parking right out front, but the seating situation inside is a bit weird and uncomfortable.. so this probably isn't the best place to meet with friends or work. read more

Popcorn milk tea w/ brown sugar tapiochi: Literally tastes like popcorn, but not in a bad or weird way at all. It's nutty, rich, and warming. I get the minimal amount of sugar and it's perfect since the brown sugar tapiochi gives it that kick of sugar. Ambience: Very aesthetic and everything matched the vibe in there. This was my second time coming to Torotea but first time going inside to order! The place is so cute and minimalist. I came on a Saturday at 6pm and there were a decent amount of people here. The store is located on Huntington Dr and they have lots of free street parking available. When I walked in, the lighting was dim and had an off-white color. I think they use a projector to show their menu. The menu had lots of variety that showcased their own creations along with just their milk teas and teas. At the time, they had someone asking if they could help you decide what to order which was really nice! They even offer free samples of their tea so you can buy their packaged bottles to take home. I ordered the Popcorn Milktea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi and Cassia Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi. The total came out to be $15.70 for the two drinks. While you're waiting for your drink, there's a small hallway where they have tables and seats to wait at. If there's none available, they have some small stools outside along with a water dispenser! Drinks: First off, I need to give their brown sugar tapiochi a 10/10. This topping comes in a square form and has a perfect texture. It has a grass jelly silkiness with a boba chewiness. I never crave the toppings when it comes to having milk tea but this one was a NEED with every sip. Popcorn Milk Tea w/ Brown Sugar Tapiochi (9/10): This drink is so unique but so delicious with a slightly terrifying name. When you think popcorn, you think butter popcorn first right? This was completely opposite. It has a caramely undertone that compliments their milk tea and tapiochi so well. I got this one less sweet with less ice and the sweetness was perfect. Cassia Milk Tea w/ Brown Sugar Tapiochi (6/10): I didn't really enjoy this one as much. It tasted really milky and didn't have much of a tea flavor. I was hoping that the tapiochi could save it but it just didn't really help. I got this one less sweet and less ice. read more
One of my new favorite spots for milk tea. There's many unique flavors and I love how the interior is decorated. The wait can be a while depending on location and day but the service is still very welcoming! My go-to is the Koan-Im Oolong Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi. I used to get the Dalgona Cloud Top Koan-Im Oolong Latte which is also super yummy. If you like things similar with cheese foam I recommend the Dalgona. read more

Hands down my favorite boba place. The tea flavors are so strong and the texture of the tapiochi is to die for. If you've never tried it, the texture is like a chewy jelly. It is the perfect addition to the drink because it doesn't make it too filling but it adds texture and a bit of sweetness and flavor to it still. The store is super aesthetic and the employees are always so nice, offering recommendations and samples! I'm not a milk tea person, so my go tos are always the osmanthus citrus refresher or calamansi oolong with black tea tapiochi. read more

One of my favorite boba tea shops! The inside is incredibly aesthetic. Staff are super friendly and helpful. I like how they always have samples to try. I've tried the popcorn milk tea and dalgona cloud top and both are great. I recommend the popcorn milk tea if it's your first time because it's so unique. The tea has a buttery fragrance to it without being overpowering. The jelly it comes with is nice and chewy. The dalgona cloud top was also good if you're wanting a heavier creamy and sweet dessert drink. read more

So happy to have finally tried torotea! It's been on my list for a while now and I was able to stop by with a friend on a weekday. No line which was really nice bc we spent some time asking questions about the drinks and flavors without holding others up.. shout out to the super sweet cashier who gave us all her recommendations. (( I'm so sorry I can't recall her name but she had a miffy scrunchie )) We went with the Popcorn milk tea with brown sugar tapiochi and misty oolong milk tea with osmanthus jelly .. both less sweet since that's how we generally like our drinks and it was perfect! I believe their drinks aren't as sweet as other commercial boba places .. we also sampled the blossom black tea which was very tasty and refreshing! I can't wait to come back for more drinks! The shop itself is so gorgeous.. plenty of street parking as well. read more

I've been here twice in the past week and can't get enough! Toro tea is my new fave. They have great tea flavors and the tapiochi is one of the best jellies I've had!!! The inside is hip and welcoming with a bench to sit on. Many times there is a wait because it's quite popular. The staff is always so friendly to help you out with choosing a tea and there are samples that they give out. My first time I tried the popcorn tea which was something different! I would describe it was buttery and almost butterscotch-like! It was quite sweet. I also got an ember tea with barley tapiochi which had a much deeper roasted flavor. The ember is quite nutty if you like something less sweet. The brown sugar tapiochi is AMAZING. Would highly recommend. Last time I got the misty oolong with oosmanthus jelly. The misty oolong had a floral sweet flavor and the oosmanthus jelly was also great, but I kept spitting out little particles of what I presume were tea leaves in the jelly that I didn't love. Torotea has a variety of unique drinks with a cozy, aesthetic interior. I ordered the ember milk tea with barley jelly. The jelly was so unique and I don't think I've had anything like it before. The tea was very creamy and my only complaint is it was too sweet even with 25%. I'm so curious about the rest of their menu and I would love to try their tapioca mochi next time! read more
We came here because we usually go to Huntington garden and we wanted a drink, and found that torotea had another location! This new location has a pretty nice vibe! Great place to go for milk tea specifically! Less busy for sure, but depending on the time of the day it can still get busy! We got the Popcorn Milktea & Hojicha einspanner! Both are good but we love the popcorn milk tea!! Parking is available in the front but can get filled sometimes! They provided umbrellas when it was sunny and we waited outside! read more

Torotea is my recent fav spot for boba. I love their unique toppings and high quality tea!! My favorite is the mulberry tea with osmanthus jelly, but definitely try one of the milk teas as well. There can be a line so I recommend coming on a weekday or at odd hours if possible. Service is always great though and there are always samples. Seating is very limited, so unless you're coming at odd hours, don't expect to sit. Especially not for a big party. read more
