I don't know if I went on a really off day, but I can't remember the last time I had a milk tea so off-putting it went straight in the trash. I was so excited for the gyokuro milk tea because gyokuro is probably my favorite tea, and I can't quite describe what the gyokuro here tasted like. I can say, however, it didn't taste anything like gyokuro. It was weirdly floral, not quite jasmine-like floral, and had a weird and honestly kind of gross flavor I guess is a way to put it. It completely lacked the fresh buttery greens quality of real gyokuro. The jasmine was okay. I gave up on the hojicha without even trying it after everyone else wound up not liking their teas either (they didn't dislike it as much as I did with the gyokuro, it just wasn't great). Reviews seem positive for this place so I dunno what was up with our drinks. While the tea flavor, at least for the jasmine, was strong, it was so strong it tasted almost artificial (compared to similar tea-forward places).
5/19/26 Okay, I'm not much of a tea drinker but I like matcha for all its health benefits & its earthiness, this place has my seal of approval:-) Just driving around San Marino looking for a coffee shop near 5 pm--not much luck. This place popped up & doesn't close til 8 pm- cool!! There just 2 seats indoors with a "bar" table and a bench to park your behind while waiting for your drink. There's no restroom. The outdoor patio is spacious but it shares it with 2 other businesses (Dumpling Bar & Mari Vees). Staff is trite, professional, competent but not overly friendly. He made my drink as requested-iced matcha latte with oat milk, less ice, 75% sweet level, one of the best so far, nothing fancy, just good, quality matcha. I'm likely to return if ever in the area, and that's me not big on tea lol \(*0*)/
wow this might be one of my new favorite boba spots! Came to try Chapresso and the tea quality really shines in all their drinks! I tried their matcha latte with 2% milk (they offer oat milk too) at 70% sweet and a gyokuro milk tea at 70% sweet with lychee jelly and both were very very good! The teas were fragrant and yummy and perfectly not too sweet! They have a few seats inside but it's very limited - they've been around for about 2 years and I hope they get a lot more love soon! Service is very fast and friendly
I had an adequate experience at Chapresso (San Marino). I ordered the Mango Matcha Latte ($8.50 - 16oz - 75% Sugar). It's earthy, gritty, and tastes like mango cereal milk. It reminds me of liquid mango candy. I arrived at Chapresso (San Marino) on Sunday (around 12:15PM). Parking is a little challenging. There's no lot, so I used street parking. It's a brief couple minute walk. Customers can order at a self-service kiosk or counter. Staff is polite. Staff kindly answered all my questions. My drink took one minute and 52 seconds. Fast! As mentioned, I ordered the Mango Matcha Latte ($8.50 - 16oz - 75% Sugar). It's not bad, and it's thirst quenching. The drink made me think of candy mango and something a little gritty. On ambiance, Chapresso (San Marino) is very tiny and cramped. There's one small counter and a bench. There's also three assigned tables at front. The floors looked like they needed a quick sweep, but the air felt clean. I also enjoyed the slow-paced music. The location is very dimly lit though, so it all felt a little melancholy. Fortunately there's a little bit of utility at Chapresso (San Marino). There's one available electrical outlet. And there's customer internet with password; customers must ask staff for the details. However; this small location doesn't have a restroom. Overall, Chapresso (San Marino) is not bad. I didn't hate my beverage, and staff is friendly. If already nearby, I can lightly recommend. 3.9 out of 5
I came to try this spot since a fellow acquaintance said it was yummy. Parking is ample for street parking. There's outdoor seating which is nice. You can order via kiosk or at the counter. Staff were friendly & open to questions. I went with the matcha Einspanner which was a 10/10. I was able to customize my drinks as well for sweetness/ice. I would come back to try other drinks since they have a vast selection.
I decided to try their ice matcha latte and matcha Einspanner. I tried getting the coffee version but it ended up being matcha which was fine since it was good either way. The offer 2% milk or oat milk. Definitely going to come back to try their teas. Now that i know where its located at. First time trying this place and parked a little far because it looked like there was alot of cars in the front. As we werw looking for it someone asked if we were going to chapresso. Howd he know. But we came on a lucky day. Turbo tax had a little event going on and they were giving free chapresso vouchers, fidget spinner, tote bags and ice packs.
The Matcha is made fresh, and the Matcha latte was pretty good for what it is. The service was fairly fast, just expect one person to be working in the front. So that person is either tending to the orders come or taking the orders. The vibe of the overall shop is chill, but you're really here to grab and go, so you're not really hanging out within the shop. It is located a cute spot in San Marino, you can opt to park in the front, or around sides.
street parking available depending when you go! the place is a bit smaller but they have outdoor seating. very cute and clean inside. they have a pretty solid menu with different options. the staff was very helpful in explaining the differences. i got the genmaicha einspanner and you can really taste the puffed rice in the drink. i liked it but my bf didn't. the strawberry matcha was good but the strawberry just tastes like jam. the oolong milk tea was really good! very fragrant and floral. i also got a mango green tea but it was a bit cloudy and bitter in my opinion. maybe it got cloudy from the mango they use but would highly recommend the oolongs they have and the matcha! can't wait to come back and try the hojicha
Chapresso is a tiny boba tea shop in San Marino. They have breadth selection of fruit teas and milk tea boba. And it is the only tea shop in this upper middle class city. I came to grab a hot Jasmine Pekoe Green tea which is a high-quality tea leaves , often younger leaves with fine hair (pekoe). Its flavor was smooth, mellow, slightly sweet, with fresh fruity undertones. Prices were fair. Staff and service were cordial and on spot, respectively. Indoor and outdoor seats were very limited. Overall, I liked my tea at Chapresso. I highly recommend them.
January 10, 2026 Ordered their Strawberry Matcha Latte and it was yummy. Honestly, it was too pretty to mix. Compared to other local spots, I can say this is in my top 5! Love the matcha taste and the oatmilk with strawberry bits...would love to have another rich now while writing this review.
I was in the City of San Marino. I remember Chapresso is in this city. This tea shop is small. Limited inside seating. More patio seating outside. No restrooms available. Their drink menu is not massive. Sometimes that's good because too many options can cause indecision. The young gentleman behind the counter was friendly and cordial. I asked him what was his favorite flavor. He recommended the Phoenix Milk Tea. I asked to sample their boba. They were gracious to adhere. I was ready to order. One Phoenix Milk Tea with 100% sweetness plus boba and no ice. One pet peeve of mine is that I don't like my tea boba drinks to be watery due to ice. Their boba was very soft and chewy. It had the perfect texture. Milk tea flavor was unique and smooth. I enjoyed it very much. Thanks Chapresso! I would love to return here to try their other drink flavors one fine day.
The concept of making milk tea drinks using espresso machines are somehow a funny, silly, enticing concept that got me to come visit and check it out. I was coming out of a quick little work day close by and decided a little treat was in order. With 2025 having been one of "those" years, I wanted to enjoy some me time and appreciate some proud moments with a celebratory drink. Ordered the Iron Goddess Oolong with some lychee. A delicious drink AND a compliment? Because yes, every woman is a goddess in her own right. It was the right savory and milky tea type I love. No frills. Solid drink for only $6. Much appreciated. Some milk tea drink prices have been so hard to be behind but this one, I'll for sure come back. Hopefully to pair it with a bite from the Dumpling spot right next door. It's a quaint little date to take yourself on the next time you happen to take a drive out around to San Marino.

Wasn't impressed at all. Ordered two gyokuro milk teas with honey boba (less ice and 50% sweet) and a mango slush with honey boba but heard the employees talking to one another about how there was only enough honey boba for two more drinks. I inquired about it and they said I'd have to pick a different topping so I went with the agar boba. Apparently they did not give us honey boba. I was staring at it up close since it looked so different so they asked if something was wrong. I thought maybe it was because it was the last of the previous batch that it looked so soft and mishapen. Since July 4th they've been switching to mochi honey boba instead because of popularity/increased demand. They said it was a real hit on July 4th weekend. The mochi boba had a lovely texture and flavor but definitely could have used more haha. They had to boil a whole new batch. Agar boba was fine but I was super disappointed that I didn't get boba because that's what I actually wanted. The shop was quiet with nobody else inside besides my cousin and kid and I. The gyokuro was pretty bitter (as if it was steeped too long. Maybe it was just matcha and bitter? But I thought gyokuro was just tea leaves?) and not sweet at all. I couldn't finish it because of how bitter it was. I kept it in the fridge and drank it next day and it mellowed out significantly. The mango slush was honey boba was pretty good. They recommended it with lychee jelly but my 5 year old was not interested haha. I think I'm spoiled after having torotea because it is such an amazing experience from start to finish and every flavor is absolutely delicious and perfect. Chapresso is overrated and fine when you don't wanna wait for torotea. You probably just need to order the right thing and for them to have boba when you want it. If I ever go back I'd try one of the iron goddess oolong or one of their matcha drinks. read more
Each order is made to brew! Really enjoyed their tea selection and I always get the phoenix MT and/or iron goddess MT. For a regular they charge roughly $6/7, which is standard pricing nowadays. Opt for the phoenix if you enjoy more of a honey note at the end. Parking is on the street but easy to get in and out even with ongoing traffic. read more

Easily the best matcha latte in San Marino and I absolutely love coming here. I noticed you guys have changed your mango matcha latte since I last tried it and subbed mango milk for the fresh mango chunks .. May I suggest you revert back to the fresh mango? What's up: Here for tea! And since it was a hot afternoon, the idea of a sweet cold tea made it even better. Parking: Parking is available right up front on Huntington Drive, but it might be hard to get out of the spots since it's a busy street. It took a bit of waiting for me, so a side street and some walking might be a better option; W Hvn Rd is an option. Environment: Walking in, you'll see the menus located overhead. You can order at the counter or use their self order kiosk. I placed an order at the counter and had a short wait before my drink was ready. The staff member informed me that if the drink wasn't sweet enough, or if too sweet, they can adjust it. Mines came out fine, so no adjustment was needed. What was ordered: - Hojicha Latte with 75% sweetness (bold flavor and the perfect amount of sweetness. The only downside is that the drink felt a bit gritty, like it wasn't whisked well enough) Yay/Nay/Meh: Yay. I don't see a lot of places with hojicha, so it's nice that Chapresso offers it. I enjoyed the flavor, but it didn't feel like it was mixed well. Overall, it was still decent. Staff members were friendly. Credit cards are accepted. read more

Pretty solid tea spot with free parking at the front and back. Small shop with mostly outdoor seating. The staff worked very quickly and the packaging came with insulated bags if you're ordering more than 4 drinks. Their 50% sugar was actually healthy so I recommend their 75-100% since it's not diabetic like other places. My favorites were their hochija and genmatcha einspanners. Very unique with strong tea flavors. Well mixed and well balanced. Their other drinks were decent but similar to what you can get everywhere else. Iron Goddess was a close second with a strong oolong flavor and Phoenix was very floral. I definitely recommend if you're in the area. read more
I am glad I finally got the chance to visit this place. I tried their Gyokuro Milk Tea. It has very strong tea flavor and just the right amount of sweetness. Definitely recommend trying it. No public restroom though, in case you plan to stay there for a long time. Mainly outdoor seatings. Quite small inside. Parking can be hard at times, but luckily, so far, was able to find parking when I went. read more
This is my second visit, I tried their matcha latte last time during an Elite event. I think they have one of the best matcha in the 626 area (without going to dtla). The matcha has a umami taste, it is creamy, BUT it was chunky on the bottom this time. Other than that, the quality is great. Their matcha power is above average. The service was decent. I went on a Sunday afternoon, and they are pretty busy. There are still enough parking spaces in front of the store. It's a good choice to stop by if you're in the area. read more
Chapresso is a small independent tea & boba shop located in San Mario (opened in Dec 2023) and everything about this shop reminds of ... Chicha San Chen. One of my pseudo Elite friends swore by this boba shop and even claimed this shop is better than Chicha San Chen. The shop essentially utilizes the teapresso machines (similar to the one you see at Chicha San Chen) so customers can smell a strong tea aroma upon entering the shop. [Paring]: Fairly easy street parking as there are plenty of parking spots right in front of the shop as well as easy nearby local street parking. [Ordering]: Customers can order via kiosk or order directly in person at the cashier counter. [Amenity]: No restroom for customers with a very small indoor space, but plenty of outdoor tables with the right casual first date vibe. [Drinks]: The three featured drinks are Jasmine Pekoe Milk Tea, Iron Goddess Oolong Milk Tea, and Barley Black Milk Tea. Other drink options include Americano, latte, einspanner (extra $1 with matcha), hojicha, and genmaicha. Regular = 16 oz and large = 22 oz for extra $0.75. Extra $0.50 for toppings like honey boba, crystal boba, lychee jelly, mango jelly, and grass jelly. *** Iron Goddess Oolong Milk Tea (toasty, stronger tea flavor with a floral aftertaste - regular 16 oz, 100% sweetness, less Ice - $6 + Honey Boba $0.50): Boba was good but couldn't say it was the best one I have ever had; however milk tea was great and the drink wasn't overly sweet even at 100% sweetness. *** Personally if I can pick Chapresso vs newly opened Torotea next door, I still prefer Torotea. With that being said, I am still a fan of Chapresso and would add it to anyone's weekly boba regiment if they visit boba shops on daily basis. read more
Stopped by Chapresso in the morning and didn't have to wait long at all. I got a mango smoothie drink, and it was refreshing and tasty--perfect for a light start to the day. The staff were super nice and even made some friendly small talk, which added a personal touch to the experience. There's not much indoor seating, but the outdoor setup is really cute--great for hanging out with friends. Just a heads-up: probably not the best study spot since there aren't outlets outside. Tea shop located on Huntington Dr next to Dumpling Bar and Mari Vees. We came here on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't too busy when we got there but shortly after we ordered, there was a line forming. Drinks came out pretty quickly. We ordered an iced matcha latte 75% sweet as recommended by other yelp reviewers but it was a bit too sweet for my personal taste. I usually get 25-50% so that's what I might do next time to adjust the sweetness. The matcha does taste really good. It's comparable to probably one other matcha place I like that's no longer open. One young woman handling all the drinks (one slip after another) by herself during happy hour.... not sure it's good management . She is focused and efficient and friendly. We tried to call ahead to order but no one picked up now I understand why. Took about 10 minutes to prepare, it was non-stop making teas by herself. Shop is quite cute, some parallel-ish street parking on Huntington and parking lot next to Verizon. There are tables outside for the 3-5 stores See pics for the store. read more
Really cute spot to go for milk tea. The seating area is outside with a couple of tables and chairs. There is parking in the front and back of the store. Staff is very friendly and answered all my questions about the different tea leaves they have on the menu. I have ordered their phoenix oolong yea, iron goddess oolong tea, matcha einspanner, hojicha and all their drinks are so good. All drinks were ordered with less sugar. read more
Hojicha latte (5/5): Really good drink! You can really taste the hojicha flavor and it wasn't overpowered by the milk. I got it iced, so it was a really good afternoon pick me up. Service was good (5/5), the staff was really friendly and gave recommendations. My bf ordered a matcha latte and wanted more ice after getting his drink, and the staff was nice enough to remove the seal, add more ice, and reseal the drink again. The matcha latte was good too, although I think they add a lot of matcha powder in the drink. I'm curious about their other drinks, specifically the milk teas as I've heard many great things about it. I'd have to come back and try a few new things. The store front is relatively small. There's few outdoor seating, a high table indoors, wifi, and free street parking. read more
Came here around 5PM on a Sunday and there was no line! It was my first time so I enjoyed smelling the small vials of tea leaves that they have at the front. I decided to order the iron goddess oolong tea as I tend to prefer more of a tea flavor than a floral flavor. If you go between the hours of 5-7PM, be sure to get your free topping! You might need to gently remind the cashier depending on who is working. Overall, the boba had a nice chew to it, but I didn't find the milk tea to be particularly memorable. There is definitely a prominent tea taste but the drink was a little watery for my taste. Not sure if I see myself returning here given the other nearby options, but I'm glad I gave it a try. read more
They brew their teas to order, using an espresso-like machine, similar to Chi Cha, and the teas are very flavorful!! Staff is very sweet and helpful, especially when suggesting sugar and ice levels for drinks. Small store, but clean, and there is some indoor as well as patio seating! Their Iron Goddess Oolong milk tea is their best offering, in my opinion, for a true milk tea. read more

Got a matcha einspanner with oat milk 50% sweet and it was good. One of the better matchas in the area! Comparable to the one in Ktown. My drink came about to $7.25 without tax and tip. It's a good tea! Gave up Boba for lent so I can't help you on this but they have good agar boba and lychee jelly. Self order so it's fast. Plenty seats outside but limited inside. Seems very clean and the tea choices are refreshing. Don't let the presso on the Chapresso fool You because there's no espresso here, just purely tea and milk tea. read more
Plenty of street parking, little seating indoors, more tables and chairs outside, wifi available Strawberry Matcha 7/10, matcha was a little chalky Phoenix Milk Tea 9/10 Originally came here to study, but not too much seating and we ended up just sitting inside and talking. My favorite was the phoenix milk tea, not too sweet and I prioritize tea quality, love that this spot smells like tea the moment you open the doors and step in! Great teas, but parking is always a bit hard. There are spaces right in front of the shop, but finding an open space and backing out from oncoming traffic is always hard. Gyokuro Green Tea 75% sweet, less ice, agar boba: The grassy flavor just tasted like a lightly bitter tea. Iron goddess oolong tea 75% sweet, less ice, agar boba: Toasty drink without the bitter taste. Love this drink. read more

ORDER phoenix oolong milk tea (5/5) the drinks here are so good!! the tea is super fragrant and it's never too sweet. keep in mind their 100% sweetness isn't as sweet as other places. i usually do 75% sweetness at other boba shops, but i don't adjust the sweetness here. SERVICE super kind, they always make sure you leave happy with the drink. AMBIANCE the shop is a little small so it can get cramped when it's crowded. read more
After looking at many videos and reviews from friends, I was excited to try this place out. There is street parking in front of the store with some parking in the back (a little further away from the drink place) I ordered via kiosk and saw that they did not charge for oat milk replacement. The wait time was quite long, I believe I waited around 20 minutes with only what seemed like five people in front of me. There was limited seating inside, but there were a couple of tables and chairs directly outside. I got the oolong which was very tasty. The tea flavor was strong and very smooth. The mango slush tastes like all mango slushes I've had, but still was a very good option. read more
A boba shop open at 10AM?!?! Who would have thought? Chapresso will be my go-to for a quick pick me up before work! As a boba-connoisseur, I had to try this place for their strong teas and excellent service. I got their Gyokuro with 25% sweet and it was bold and sharp. My friend got their Phoenix and Iron Goddess Milk Teas, pure delicious! I especially love how they allow us to smell their various tea leaves, which helped me decide. Also their boba is cooked to perfect and not too sweet! There's plenty of back street parking, swing by for your early boba fix! read more

Hello, we use fruit puree, not concentrated and no artificial additives.
Do your drinks have caffeine?
Hello, all our teas except for our hibiscus teas have caffeine. However, teas usually have about 30% of caffeine or less compared to coffee. The only tea we currently have that has equivalent caffeine to one shot of espresso is our matcha!
What kind of milk is in the milk tea?
At the moment, we strictly use non-dairy creamer. However, we are looking into adding additional milk and milk alternative options in the near future!
Will you be adding other toppings like grass jelly? I didn't see that many choices
Hi, we are always testing new drinks and toppings! We do think in the future we might be adding more topping options, but as of right now we only have 4 options: honey boba, agar boba, lychee jelly, and mango jelly. Sorry about that.
Are there plans to have wifi so people can work from your cafe?

Hello, in addition to the street parking along Huntington Drive, we also have a parking lot next to our block (adjacent to Verizon) with about 20 spaces that is usually empty!
