Paris Baguette is a very well known bakery cafe chain from South Korea, and the San Gabriel location is one of my favorites in LA. They've got a ton of high quality bakery items and sweets to choose from, plus cakes, including some really pretty ice cream cakes I noticed. Their coffee is also really good. Bonus: they have free Wi-Fi, which matters because that whole area of San Gabriel is a dead zone for cell coverage if you're on AT&T. I tried some cake slices from here and they were all decent. I tried the new Chocolate Matilda cake from here and it was pretty decadent. I liked the moist and chocolatey cake, but I wasn't the biggest fan of the chocolate mousse frosting which seemed goopy. It was a lot to eat in one sitting just for this slice. I also tried my friends' chocolate strawberry cake and fresh cream strawberry cake slices and those were light, but compared to the Chocolate Matilda cake, those slices were dryer. The interior is clean and spacious with a good amount of seating and tables. I did see some outlets and some people on laptops, so it looks like there may be wifi as well. The staff here were super nice and there's free parking in front, but busy on the weekend. read more

He mentioned 3 cakes. I asked what was his favorite flavor. He said Blueberry Yogurt. I said okay let's go with that one. I was skeptical about the yogurt at first, but cake slice was moist and yogurt wasn't bad at all. Thanks Carlos! I couldn't just get the free item and leave. I love supporting local businesses. It was towards late afternoon and they only had a handful of sweet and savory pastries left. I ended up getting one Sticky Milk Bun and one Caramel Streusel Apple Tart. This particular location though, could use some work with consistency. The selection and quality of pastries and drinks seem to vary throughout my many visits. My top pastries are all of their croissant-like pastries, especially the Pastry Frank (filled with a savory sausage inside) and Mini Strawberry Lemon Cream Croissant (filled with a smooth and tangy lemon cream and fresh strawberries that add a tartness). Both of these have flaky, buttery exterior shells that are wonderful to bite into. For cakes, I love the strawberry soft cream cake. This cake is simple, light, and not too sweet. The thin layers of vanilla, soft cream, and strawberries blend excellently together. I appreciate that they provide free candles with whole cakes. An underrated cake is the green tea roll cake, which is delicious, but not ideal for celebrations. read more

I love Paris Baguette and since this is the closest Paris Baguette to me, I've checked out this spot plenty of times. Of all times, I've never really had any complaints about it except that sometimes when you visit in the afternoon, the selection of pastries are limited, which is of course normal as they come out fresh in the morning. Could be timing but other spots I've been to are a bit different than this one. Of all the breads I've tried, the smoked hot dog is my favorite and this spot provides the exact same taste as all the other PB cafes I've been to. High quality is what Paris Baguette is known for and this spot is no different. This spot is a bit bigger than the usual PB cafes and you'll often find people chilling around or doing work. Vibe here is pretty nice for those vibes as the lighting is not too bright. I've ordered a cake through the mobile app and picked it up here for a special occasion for my partner but unfortunately, they spelled her name wrong, which is why I'm docking a star. Otherwise, Paris Baguette has never disappointed me as their pastries, drinks, cakes, and just snacks in general are absolutely amazing. I highly recommend downloading their mobile app to get points as you purchase. They give free cake slice on your birthday which is a very nice gesture. I love Paris Baguette's pastries so I was quite surprised when I saw they had a salad in their menu line up. It was PACKED to the brim, filled with tomatoes, grilled chicken, cucumbers, croutons, & the Boursin garlic cheese. The base was a spring mix and occasional lettuce pieces with a side of balsamic like vinaigrette. To my surprise it was extremely refreshing & delicious. It definitely satisfied my salad craving & it was only $11! The size of this bowl was slightly bigger than that of a chipotle bowl! I would highly recommend trying their new salad out. read more

The parking lot is can be challenge due to limited spaces. The location itself is big. They have plenty of patio seating outside and a decent amount of seating inside. The location wasn't too crowded during our visit and fairly clean. The selections of cakes and pastries were plentiful. We ordered the Cinnamon Sugar Churro Latte & a Ghirardelli Hot Chocolate and grabbed a Chocolate Chip Strawberry Pastry. Also, milk alternatives are available such as oat and almond. The staff helping us was really nice and very hardworking! He even offered the hot cocoa on the house. So we gave a nice tip. As for the drinks and pastry, they were awesome. You can't go wrong with a Ghirardelli drink & and Churro latte had a great balance of sweetness. The pastry was flaky and crispy. I loved the pair of chocolate chip croissant with strawberries. I love going to Paris baguette. This was my first time at this location. It's a pretty big location with lots of seating and they have an entryway to the cute shop next door. I arrived at 2pm and they had low bread inventory but I got enough pastries. I also ordered the iced cookie butter macchiato and it was delicious. I will come back to this location if I'm ever in the area. I came in for some sweet fruit tarts for my dad and brother, and let me just say - they disappeared faster than my motivation on a Monday morning. I used to come here years ago to study, and the staff was so nice they handed me the WiFi password before I even asked. It was giving "We believe in your academic success, queen" energy. It's nice to see Paris Baguette so close to home. We ate here regularly when we lived in China. We came to the plaza for lunch and my wife wanted to treat our son to something sweet. As usual with a kid, they can go a bit overboard with the sweets. We brought home a lot of pastries, but we didn't eat them because my mother-in-law said they were "太甜了". I love how this place is connected to the kpop store next door, the seating area is spacious and I saw some people just chilling with their laptop and books. The variety of pastries is still plenty although it's almost 7pm. I was hoping to find some plain rolls for my son but they ran out. Some of the labels aren hidden so I had to pull it up to see the price and decide if it's worth getting. I got ham and cheese, chocolate cream, and curry bread. The total price was around $12. I got a bag instead of a box, each bread was in its own bag. They also have an app for rewards! You can have a chill hangout with friends. There's a good amount of pastry selections that are interesting. The staff have been good and helpful. I've gotten a few cake pick-ups before and they have all been great. My family enjoys them. The cake is light and just the right amount of sweetness. I got the pistachio croissant and the exterior cream is delicious. There is a cream filling inside that's a bit too sweet and I prefer if it were emplaced lower on the croissant towards the bare end. I got pistachio latte and I didn't get any pistachio flavor at all. The latte was okay. Overall, it's a decent place. I still will go to try more pastries and other drinks. read more

Had the chance to drop by ever since we got the San Gabriel Passport! Redeemed our free drink and pastry option: We came on rainy Saturday afternoon before heading to the movies and thought why not grab a quick treat before our drive to Glendale! But this just tasted like basic coffee I can literally get anywhere else. Normal Korean Iced Milk Coffee is like a sweet milky taste. It just tasted like iced coffee with milk - that's it, not even sweet. I bought a fruit tart, and whoever packed it used a box that was ridiculously small. By the time I got home and opened it, the tart was completely destroyed, smashed into the sides of the box, and looked more like garbage than a dessert. I honestly couldn't believe this was handed to a paying customer. It feels like nobody bothered to check whether the tart even fit before closing the box. Basic common sense should tell you that a delicate fruit tart needs proper packaging. Manager, if you're reading this, please pay attention to how your staff handles orders because this was one of the worst packaging jobs I've ever seen. I paid for a fruit tart, not a box of mush.
