So happy with the timing of their pop up in Alhambra Park, the same morning I went to Goudy Honda for my oil change lol. Walked a mile while waiting for my service to grab some of their goodies! Delicious pastries and my favorite would be the fruit danish and the pistachio roll. 10/10 will walk to them again on their next pop up!
Food: Black Sesame Almond Kumquat Croissant Mix Berries Ginger Danish (GF) Lychee Rose Water Mochi Cake Banana Walnut Bread Mix Winter Citrus Danish Ube Coconut Five spice morning bun (not in picture) all yummy!! and like us Asian would usually compliment sweets "it's not too sweet." we all especially love the banana walnut bread and Berries Ginger Danish (ginger creme is mmm mmm excellent) Service: Pre-order was ready & accurate - i made 2 separate orders, one was a gift. they had them ready together, packaged in 2 boxes without me having to add additional instructions. Extra extra love for them being super nice I went to pick up my pre-order with my two year old kiddo, and they made the pick up & adding items a super easy process. Location; It is by the pool are of the park. If you're a first timer like i was, park, the walk toward the direction where folks carrying a brown box come from

Just happened to stumble upon Crumbs and Flakes as they were doing a pop-up at Mandarin Coffee Stand. Love supporting small businesses and ended up ordering most of the pastries they brought for the day. Paradise danish - awesome danish with a pronounced passion fruit and guava custard on a buttery and flakey danish. this pastry is the reason we are going back to their pop-up this weekend. Garlic Chinese broccoli croissant - awesome savory croissant with a nice garlic flavor with every bite. Asian pear and sweet potato danish - not sure why I was expecting this to be sweet but it was a savory danish. i enjoyed this one as well but it does have a pronounced onion flavor. Ube blueberry and coconut bread - this was good but I thought the blueberry overpowered the ube flavor. Remained moist the next day and paired well with a cup of coffee. Blueberry cornbread rice cake - loved the texture and flavor of this cornbread. wished we ordered 2 of these so that i wouldn't have to fight with the wife for another bite. Lychee rose water mochi cake - awesome chewy mochi texture w/ a subtle lychee flavor. perfect for those seeking something that isn't too sweet. Can't wait to try their pain au chocolate, kabocha pumpkin pie and the green onion sesame biscuit.
Such a cute pop up bakery. I went to Amiga Amore on a Saturday at 9am, and was third in line. I got the ube blueberry coconut bread, pork sung and green onion roll, and almond lychee croissant. Everything tasted scrumptious and had a unique flavor profile. I was worried the pastries, in particular the ube bread, would be very sweet but they weren't. The owners were very nice and friendly. The brainchild of Fil-Chi pastry chef Aeriel Villanueva, Crumbs and Flakes Bakery is a pandemic era pop-up that utilizes flavors familiar to Filipinos executed with classic techniques. She even has a collab using coffee from Teofilo, a coffee house that specializes in beans sourced from the Philippines. The pastries can be ordered in advance through Instagram. I first discovered this bakery through another Instagram account I follow (Amiga Amore restaurant), and I was glad to find that chef Aeriel has weekend popups in the SGV. Last week''s pop-up was at Cafe FC in Hacienda Heights, just over the hill from our home in Whittier. Ordering online was very easy and convenient. Better to do that rather than show up and hope they don't sell out (which doesn't seem wise to me).
Crumbs and flakes bakery is a self taught baker, small business woman owned and operated that is making some incredible desserts. If the halo halo pie is available pre order it right away it's seasonal so not offered year round. You won't be disappointed. Also all of their bakery items have French American/Asian spin to it. They are delicious. since it's a small business they offer pre ordering website so you don't have to wait in line at their pop ups. If you're brave enough to take a chance at ordering in line queue you should get there early because if you follow their Instagram they will sell out. So be prepared ahead of time. Just pre order. You don't even have to wait in line just pick up from the side and you're able to go about your business. Thank you Crumbs and Flakes for the delicious carbs and bringing your creative mind/tastebuds to SGV.
Literally everything from this bakery is top notch quality. Service is nice but slow, but you know they put care in everything. The only downside is the price. You can pre-order if you want guaranteed items. We came by at around 10,10.30 and some stuff that we wanted were gone. They sell out fast. They are located at Alhambra park, in front of the pool entrance. Only on Saturday 9-12 or until sold out.
Delicious pastries!! So glad they're doing weekly popups at Alhambra Park now; you'll find them at a tent in front of the pool. I found them through Yelp but if you want to follow them with more timely updates, you should follow them on Instagram because they actively post on there. I tried some croissants (almond, butter, churro) and a blueberry scone. They were all delicious but the almond croissant stood out the most to me. I arrived to the popup at around 10:25am and half of their pastries were sold out. They open at 9am until they sell out. Venmo is available. The owners were also so friendly to talk to! I definitely will come back and try their other baked goods!

It will be unfair to not give credit to this hidden gem! There is no physical store (yet!) and there is surely a line formed early Saturday morning to get these photogenic pastries! This is my first pre-order and the process was simple and smooth over Instagram message. I believe the cake flavor will depends on the seasonal fruit. It's hard to judge the look of the cake, but I can see lots and lots of vanilla beans on the cream and that speaks for the dedication to quality. The passion fruit roasted strawberry chiffon cake, served cold had good moisture inside, depth full of flavors, not overly sweet, it's delicious! I need to go back for my good pastry fix!

Cheese & Rosemary Twist - I love the subtleness of the rosemary, which just compliments the cheese. Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie - great nutty taste, and especially perfect for those who love a crispy and chewy cookie. As a note, seasonal sweets are offered. Therefore, it's best to check out their Instagram (@crumbsandflakesla) to see their weekly menu. Tip: arrive early! They can sell out easily. Additionally, you can also place a drop order on their hotplate site (in their IG bio) to reserve your order. Crumbs and Flakes Bakery is definitely a spot you will want to add to your list!
On a Saturday morning in Early November, I stopped by with my sister to Crumbs and Flakes at Alhambra park to buy pastries. It's located near the administration office. The owner remembered us and she was sweet and nice. We briefly chatted about her the new pastries. I picked a slice of pecan pie and apple pear with sweet potato pastry. The pecan pie was not sweet with no preservatives and it was yummy. The other pastry was good and it tastes better warmed up. Nice to see her again,
My absolute favorite pastry chef in town. The business owners are friendly and helpful every time I stop by their pop up at Alhambra park. The service is great, they're good at explaining each item on the menu, while the line gets long it moves fairly quickly. They also accept pre-order on their hotplate site if you don't want to stand in line. My favorites are the lychee rose mochi cake, churro croissant, Chinese broccoli croissant, and their halo halo pie. I've also ordered a birthday cake from Aeriel (lead pastry chef) and my guests loved it. During the holiday season I always order the whole 9" Halo Halo pie and I always get compliments on it. Because their pop up is at the park, the ambiance is limited to what the park offers but at the same time Crumbs and Flakes will occasionally be at other nearby coffee shops like Mandarin in Pasadena. read more

A must try popup selling homemade pastries! The set up is at the park which makes it easy to get to and plenty of street parking. You can't miss the location; they have a tent set up near the cement walkway. The set up was not open for sale until 9 am, but there were already people lining up prior to them opening. The wait is not long and you can pay using venmo. This was my first time visiting the Alhambra Park pop-up and I'm so happy I did! They have various types of pastries from your normal croissants to delicacies like their pistachio jujube. I was able to snag one of their persimmon apple & pecan oat streusel pie and I am so upset that I only got one! From the crust, to the layers of fruit and rhe streusel the pie was so delicious! It may seem pricey ($10 per slice) but it's worth it! I'm usually not a pie person, but they won me over. I bought the pie at 9 AM and didn't get a chance to try it until 6 hours later and it didn't get soggy. The streusel was crispy and not overly sweet. I wish they sold this as a whole pie! I also grabbed their pistachio jujube snail and the pastry was buttery and flakey. Again it wasn't too sweet which allows for you to taste the flavors of the fruit and nuts. If you're a pastry lover, do yourself a favor and check this place out. And come early! They sell out quick. read more

Visited a pop up at Amiga Amor. The baker was very welcoming and provided fast and efficient service. I visited right at opening and there weren't many people. After I ordered and paid I did notice many more guests enter and take a seat. I ordered a few pastries. Pistachio Jujube Snail- 6/10 my first time trying jujube. The flavor was sweet but subtle. This was a bit dry for me and was the texture of a puff pastry cracker. Blueberry Cornbread Bibingka- 10/10 Highly recommend. This was very tasty. The blueberries do not overcast the cornbread flavor. Almond Lychee Croissant- 9/10 Very unique taste. I wanted a little bit more lychee pieces, I found 2 smaller pieces. (Seasonal Item) read more

Long story short, best pastries in SGV and probably SoCal. Since 2020, we started sampling pastries vendor on weekend mornings. C&F puts all bricks & mortar places like Salted Butter, Oh La La, etc. to shame. Their seasonal fruit masterpieces are 2 die 4. Showed up at 8am and they weren't there because Yelp times are wrong. They open their pop-up stand at 9am! Waited over an hour staring at other vendors but we're glad we gave C&F a chance; and boy, their delicacies are worth the wait. We wish them lots of success b/c we need people like C&F. read more

These are some of the best pastries around!! Aeriel and Edgar are the nicest people along with providing such tasty treats! I love the option for preordering or joining the line on Saturdays at Alhambra park. Besides the pictures below I also love the braided churro, the garlic Chinese broccoli croissant, and the chocolate chip cookie (with the salt on top is just sooooo good)! read more

This pop up bakery is my FAVORITE in all of Southern California! And this is coming from a someone whose favorite weekend activity is going out for a fancy coffee and treat. The ingredients are top quality, the croissants are soooo flakey with the most beautiful perfect layers. There are always new seasonal items to try as well. They do sell out fast, so I suggest following on Instagram and doing their pre-order. read more

Can't really comment on parking or ambience since their location changes, but taste-wise, these are pretty great! I didn't preorder but did arrive early and got to try their: - Ube coconut blueberry muffin - very pretty, mainly tasted like coconut though - Persimmon and pomegranate danish - persimmon didn't really taste like persimmon (I suppose due to the sugaring / preservation process) and there were only about 4 pomegranate seeds atop the danish, so I'm not sure the pomegranate flavor is quite there. It was also one of the last pastries remaining, so didn't seem to sell as well as the others - Ensaymada (cheese and sugar) - quite good! We didn't do this, but were recommended to heat it up real quick in the microwave (just a very short amount of time to melt the cheese and elevate the flavor profile) for an even better experience - Asian pear and Japanese potato danish - really enjoyed this one, but I'm quite biased towards potatoes :') - Halo Halo cream pie - this was alright. Glad to have tried it, but not sure I'd buy again given the price. Didn't really taste like Halo Halo, but did have a really nice crust! - Braided croissant churros - easily everyone's favorite! Well-sugared but not too sweet; perfectly buttery and crunchy and flaky! read more

This baker is absolutely AMAZING!! Super delicious items! Always friendly and attentive! If you want to try them all you gotta go early though because she has quite a following! @Sabrina L. That's how you know a pop-up is good! And that's why you go early and wait patiently!! If that's not for you, maybe some Costco muffins are more your style?? read more
My wife saw this place post on the SGV Eats FB Group and decided to pre-order. We got their Cheese and Rosemary Twist, Almond Croissant, Regular Croissant, their Ube Coconut Blueberry Muffin and some Rose Mochi pastry thingy. All the items tasted fantastic and my wife's favorite was the Mochi. Will definitely re-order again. read more

Best pastries with a unique twist! Never imagined eating Gai Lan in a croissant, but it was not a weird combo at all. Pre-ordered online twice for their pop ups at Cafe FC, super easy and convenient. Their halo halo cream pie is a must try -- not too sweet read more
