I am obsessed! There are so many beautiful houseplants and the owners are so nice. Great selection of plants and pots at reasonable prices. I know I will be returning.

Finally made it. I miss going to them when I would visit Chinatown. Love this new spot. Larger, roomier, easy parking, more plants and pots, and always friendly service. Definitely come visit if you're a plant lover or looking for some Asian decor. Can't wait to go back!

My wife and I were driving by and I happened to turn my head and noticed all these plants in the windows of a storefront. I said, "after we get da vien let's walk over and check it out." We are so happy we did. Right away as we entered we were greeted by a nice lady and then Elton said hello and the rest was history! We must have spent at least an hour to an hour and a half there! Elton is seriously the best and so knowledgeable! He walked us throughout and answered all of our plant questions and then some. He also helped us decide on one (we ended up buying two - not the same but different types) and we were so excited to give them a new home. Elton, you were so friendly! Definitely 10/10 customer service! Going forward, Rainbow will be our only go-to for future plants (and pots!) Can't wait to see you again Elton! You are now our plant whisperer!

Wonderful shop with tons of plants for you to choose from! I learned they moved over from Chinatown and I'm so glad they did. They have such a huge variety and very reasonable prices. Their website also provides care tips which is great. My plants have been thriving, healthy and pest free which is huge as I keep my plants indoors. The workers are sweet and will let you shop in peace.

Amazing plant shop. Friendly staff. Multilingual if you need assistance. Told me they've been in business 30 yrs at LA location. Plants are cared for & in great condition. Pricing is really good. Highly recommend you check it out if you need indoor plants! (Orchids, monsteras, etc.) New plants weekly! I'm excited about my new Monstera plant pet :)) yeee

Elton is my main plant squeeze! Ha. Honestly, there's tons of plant shops in LA. It can feel overwhelming AT FIRST! Rainbows been good to us! Been coming through the last 8 years! Even bought plants for the office from here and when my Pops wanted to buy a outdoor bamboo and Elton didn't have the type we wanted he actually went OUT OF HIS WAY to find another nursery in the valley that has it in the stock and sent us there! Elton is a super informative young man, attentive, listens to your needs and suggests accordingly! This is TRULY customer service at its finest, especially if you want plant advice or need to go the extra mile. I typically come here for my potting needs too as Elton is ONE OF THE FEW individuals in the industry who'll help you put your plant in the right pot (based on the type of plant, it's need and your specific plant care habits). I've got majority of my cute pots and stands from here! I truly, truly hope they're one of the businesses that end up back on the map since Covid 19 was devastating for many local businesses! I can't wait for Rainbow Nursey to resurface again! I'm sad post covid caused Rainbows to temporarily closed but DTLA oversaturated plant game simply ain't the same without Rainbows playin' the field.

The plant shop carries a wide variety of plants and has a strong overall selection. The staff is very knowledgeable and able to answer questions clearly about plant care and options. Inventory looks well maintained and organized. Based on the selection and service, this will likely be my new regular spot for plant purchases.

So happy I found Rainbow Nursery. I've been searching for a tall, full Aralia Fabian with multiple branches, and this one was perfect. I also found a tall Aralia Black, Hoya linearis, and a few other beautiful, rare plants that were all healthy and stunning. Elton was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about plants. Great pricing and a wonderful experience overall. This place is truly a gem.

Super good selections for an affordable price. This is my mom's go-to plant place. I can't wait until they open their new location in Rosemead so it's closer to me because we used to drive down to Chinatown for our plant sprawls

Thank goodness for this plantshop! It's an inexpensive, no-frills plantshop that's located in Chinatown. It's crazy to think that I had been here before as a kid when my parents used to come and buy plants here and now I've come full-circle and shopped at their very plantshop to buy my own plants! I love seeing that this shop has been around for a generation! I ended up buying three small plants to take home for my own plant journey. I'm excited to see them flourish in my home. A huge thank you to the gentleman who helped me out at the store. He was so informative and educational and helped me select the plant that was right for me.

Plant shopping was part of our LA weekend trip. We came in on a Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Yes, we stopped by at this shop twice in this road trip lol! My friends found themselves in plant paradise! Plants: The plants seemed to be well cared for as the leaves appeared lush and alive. The price overall was extremely cheap. My friend was surprised that a pot of Alocasia Dragon Scale retails for less than $20, while back home in Vegas it's around $50. We ended up loading the car with at least 8 pots from this shop that Saturday alone and came back Sunday morning for more lol Service: The employees were friendly and knowledgeable. Card was accepted as a form of payment. They have boxes to carry the plants and pots in. They offered us refreshments while we shop :) Parking: We parked at Dynasty Empire Mall parking garage. There were also open parking lot on the corner of N Spring St. and Alpine St. for $4, and parking meters to the front of the shop. Highly recommend!

I believe they're temporarily closed. I saw their post on Instagram.

Is Rainbow still open?

Contact them through Instagram to set up a time to buy plants. They do require customers wear masks.

Do they do re-potting? If so, for free or how much does it cost?

They have a bunch of nice pots for sale. I believe they will do repot for free if you buying the pot there. Ask Elton, he is super nice :)

Mimosa Nursery is one of those places you almost have to experience for yourself…read more The inventory is impressive. I've picked up a miracle fruit tree, passion fruit, and wax apples here, and I'm already planning to come back for a sapodilla and sugar apple if he has them in stock. If you're into rare fruit trees, you'll probably find yourself wandering around longer than you planned. The owner reminds me of Deebo from Friday (the movie). He's usually cruising around the nursery on his beach cruiser with a serious look on his face, making rounds and checking on the trees. He isn't the type to walk you through the nursery or give you a guided tour. If you have questions, you'll probably need to flag him down yourself. The funny thing is he kind of grows on you. His answers are usually short and to the point, and if you're serious about varieties, you'll want to do your own research because the labeling can be a little sketchy and his answers aren't always crystal clear. What won me over is that he's fair on pricing and willing to negotiate. On larger trees, I've been able to bargain him down close to 30%, often even a lot more. That's getting harder and harder to find these days at other nurseries. It's definitely not the polished nursery experience you'll get at some of the other places, but that's part of the charm. Good inventory, good deals, and a memorable owner. I'm not making this stuff up. You just have to come experience it yourself. Maybe go on a Friday! :P

When we arrived, we realized we went to the wrong location (our first visit to Mimosa Nursery was somewhere else apparently!) But we still found what we needed. It was a little hard to find at first, so when you arrive, you might not really see the entrance, so I'll attach photos of what to look for. We were the only ones there, got help when we needed it, and found what we were looking for. It's self-guided; no one greeted us or spoke to us until we needed someone to talk to. The people we were speaking with were knowledgeable about their plants and helpful in packing it so dirt wouldn't fall out. Super easy for us to get in & get out, and I'm sure we'll be coming back again for more!

This place is a hidden gem minutes away from my house. Do not come here expecting printed prices,…read morelabels, caring instructions, or helpful retail assistance. If that is what you require, go to Lowe's. The prices for plants here cannot be beat. Most are priced by the size of pot, and a gallon pot ranges between $2.50-$5.00 (in my experience). I believe the 5 gallon pots are just a few bucks more. Today, something strange happened. A woman who was working there approached me and said I couldn't buy the plant I was holding, it was hers. I was confused and asked if this was a public nursery, as I had bought from here before. She said yes, but the plant I was holding was her houseplant. I asked how I could tell which plants were for sale, & which were hers. She said the plant that I had, plus the plumerias, were her personal plants. I asked why they were here & not at her house & she said because of the greenhouse. Then she suddenly turned course & offered to sell it to me. She told me to follow her & I did, & she led me to the owner. She let him know I wanted to buy it. I had a collection of other plants I intended to buy gathered by the trailer, and I told him that & asked how I could tell which plants were hers & which plants were for sale. Turns out, they're all for sale. I got 6 beautiful gallon plants for $20. Cash only, great selection. This place has so many butterflies flying around, it's not crowded , & it is refreshingly clear of corporate retail bullshit, I can't recommend it enough. I have so many beautiful thriving plants thanks to this nursery.
