It's still in a fragile state meaning I needed to stake it to keep it from bending and I'm glad we did because of the tropical storm we received. That would've possibly broke it if I hadn't stake it for support. We had previously gone thru and killed 3 batches of Lavendula-Intermedia we had installed from another nursery thru our landscaper. Frustrated by the failure rate, I wanted to find another lavender cultivar and install it own our own. However, it was surprisingly difficult to find a nursery who had lavender, and even if they did, the nurseries often didn't know what specific type of lavender they had. None of the nurseries had an online store of what was in stock. Some nurseries were also quite far away and we didn't want to drive all the way there only to be disappointed. While scouring the internet, I stumbled upon Budget Plants. While I was wary of ordering online, what drew me to Budget Plants is that they are local to Southern California and personally deliver the plants to you. Most importantly, their website offered several types of lavender and clearly noted what was in stock. Back in Feb of this year (2023) we settled on BP's English Lavender. Dominic personally delivered them and graciously answered all our questions. We arranged a Task Rabbit to install the lavender in Feb and now 3 months later in May, the lavenders are thriving. Really great experience with Budget Plants. Really impressed with how fast the delivery was. The driver was great, efficient and quick, and the plants arrived in great shape. A few of the succulents were maybe not the best looking choices I would have picked out, but given I ordered about 40 plants, I was very satisfied with the overall quality. Dominic was great at communicating with me before and after the order, and answered my questions and gave advice about planting. What made the difference to me was their website -- I wanted to find a nursery that offered a full website where I could browse and plan out my order and know what the price was before purchasing, since not many in the area offered that. The additional details about each plant (sun requirements, etc.) was also great to help me plan and coordinate choices. The delivery price was a bit higher than I was expecting, but given the distance traveled (to Hollywood), maybe it's reasonable.
