PURE SCAM NURSERY. Please never ever visit this spam nursery, I have bought 2 fruit trees, each one is 100$, much more expensive than Mexicans' nurseries(30-70$). I thought higher price with better quality. The result is: both trees died. Not only I think they are spam. Other people too. Let me share other buyers' opinion with you( the 3rd pic). There are many great nursery (Champa + Mimosa + Temple Garden Center),Go to visit and make your decision!

Great selection of plants. I picked up a guava tree that really flourished. Has a lot of new growth and fruit. Thanks again for the healthy plant!

Very bad experience. The manager is incredibly rude, and unfriendly. Really aggressive, I understand why they have the rating they have.

We got a very cute little money tree for $10 inside a cute pot! We went to another nursery and saw the same size trees/smaller than the ones at Temple for about the same price but sold without a nice ceramic pot, so this was definitely a better buy here. We also got this really cute little bamboo that was also sold within a nice ceramic pot for about $10. When we got to the register we saw the same bamboo in the same pot behind the register, but it looked healthier. I said to my boyfriend, "Do you think we should ask to get that one instead?" The cashier overheard and grabbed the nicer bamboo and got it ready for us! He even grabbed some of the stalks from the other bamboo plant we originally grabbed and transplanted it into our new pot to give us even more/make it look bigger and nicer. Again, he did all this without us even asking or saying anything so this was super nice!! They also have cheap pots here that are very traditional chinese looking with the painted flowers and birds. We bought a beautiful pot for only $9 here with a cute little drip tray that almost looked like a teacup saucer at restaurants. They also had some $3 small pots that would be great for succulents. The pots were kinda dirty and covered in spiderwebs, but honestly the price was good and they were still in great condition so i didnt care LOL They had some funny little animal pots too with frogs and elephants. This place was cute and affordable and the staff was nice to us, so id go back again! Just wish i had a yard so i could get some of these fruit trees! Parking was easy. They have a little lot, but the spots are a little tight. It wasn't an issue, though! They also take credit card here.

There are several major north-south roads in this area, and Rosemead Boulevard is one of them. San Gabriel Boulevard is another. The road is wide and easy to drive. The nursery is right across the street from Com Tam Kieu Restaurant, one of the better Vietnamese broken rice restaurants in Southern California. On the way there, I passed a construction site, probably a new apartment building. It strongly gave me the impression of an EB-5 green card project, the kind of real estate development marketed less as a normal apartment building and more as an immigration investment package for Chinese buyers. In the middle of the SGV, that feeling was hard to miss. After that came the nursery. I drove from north to south, made a left turn onto a smaller street, and parked outside. The entrance is tiny. You walk through it and immediately reach the counter, where there was even a line. After that, you pass into an indoor room stocked with fertilizers, plant stakes, soil, mulch, and other gardening supplies. Beyond that is the back garden, which is much larger than expected and quite elegant. The plants are clearly well cared for, and the stone sculptures give the place a strong hint of Chinese culture. Along the edge of the main building, there are stacks of Buddha heads, seated Buddhas, and other stone figures, mostly in Chinese Buddhist or imagined Buddhist styles, though not necessarily following any strict traditional standard. There are Chinese signs everywhere, which makes sense for a nursery in the middle of the SGV. Many of the plants have bilingual names. The prices are not cheap, but they are fair. The orchids are much more expensive than what you would find at Trader Joe's or Costco, but they are also more beautiful and much stronger, so I would not call them overpriced. The plants use different colored tags, similar to what you see in many American discount stores. Some are very cost-effective. It is definitely worth stopping by, and even more worth it if you happen to find some good discounted plants. The cashier was a little rude, but as a Chinese person, I found it completely acceptable. I have seen much worse. Even though she was in a rush, the service was not bad. She even gave me an extra bag so the soil would not spill in my car. Overall, this is a good nursery and I would recommend it. It is even better if you understand Chinese culture, because many of the details will make more sense.

Mimosa Nursery is one of those places you almost have to experience for yourself…read more The inventory is impressive. I've picked up a miracle fruit tree, passion fruit, and wax apples here, and I'm already planning to come back for a sapodilla and sugar apple if he has them in stock. If you're into rare fruit trees, you'll probably find yourself wandering around longer than you planned. The owner reminds me of Deebo from Friday (the movie). He's usually cruising around the nursery on his beach cruiser with a serious look on his face, making rounds and checking on the trees. He isn't the type to walk you through the nursery or give you a guided tour. If you have questions, you'll probably need to flag him down yourself. The funny thing is he kind of grows on you. His answers are usually short and to the point, and if you're serious about varieties, you'll want to do your own research because the labeling can be a little sketchy and his answers aren't always crystal clear. What won me over is that he's fair on pricing and willing to negotiate. On larger trees, I've been able to bargain him down close to 30%, often even a lot more. That's getting harder and harder to find these days at other nurseries. It's definitely not the polished nursery experience you'll get at some of the other places, but that's part of the charm. Good inventory, good deals, and a memorable owner. I'm not making this stuff up. You just have to come experience it yourself. Maybe go on a Friday! :P

When we arrived, we realized we went to the wrong location (our first visit to Mimosa Nursery was somewhere else apparently!) But we still found what we needed. It was a little hard to find at first, so when you arrive, you might not really see the entrance, so I'll attach photos of what to look for. We were the only ones there, got help when we needed it, and found what we were looking for. It's self-guided; no one greeted us or spoke to us until we needed someone to talk to. The people we were speaking with were knowledgeable about their plants and helpful in packing it so dirt wouldn't fall out. Super easy for us to get in & get out, and I'm sure we'll be coming back again for more!

The original owners are now long gone, but Mike has continued running the business in the same style and fashion as the original owners. Mike is very knowledgeable and easy to work with. The company doesn't need to advertise; his customers' good words does that. If Mike doesn't have what you need, he can get it for you or send you to another nursery. The nursery is not a retail establishment; however, if you are planning to redo your yard and need a lot of plants, you can send your landscaper to Sakaida and Mike will work with him, or you. Or if you want a couple of big trees. If you want just a few plants, go to San Gabriel Nursery; they are a great outfit. Sure, you can get plants cheaper at Home Depot, but their sales people aren't nurserymen and they really don't know anything about plants, soils, fertilizer, growing seasons, watering, etc. If you want to buy a tree, Mike is going to ask "Where are you going to plant it?" I was going to buy a couple of large mulberry trees and plant them in the front yard and he warned: "Don't plant it near the driveway or sidewalk...as it gets older, it is going to raise them!" Mike saved me from a disaster. You won't get this kind of advice at Home Depot.
