They answered all of my questions about my plants, recommended what I needed, and even suggested more affordable options. I also got a healthy cucumber plant and received some coupons, which was a nice bonus. I forgot to ask the name of the tall older gentleman at the register, but he was incredibly helpful. Thank you! I'll definitely be back for the orchids--they're beautiful, and the nursery has an amazing selection of plants.

DO NOT GO TO THIS NURSERY!!! TOTAL SCAM!!!…read more This place is a total rip-off! The people here are dishonest, rude, and have absolutely ZERO customer service skills! They NEVER tell you upfront that all plants are FINAL SALE -- NO RETURNS, NO REFUNDS! They conveniently leave that part out until after you pay. Seriously? When you buy a bad plant and try to return it, they come up with every excuse in the book to refuse your return. Instead of fixing the problem, they give you attitude and even threaten you! The staff are rude as hell, and the supervisor is just as bad. Nobody wants to take responsibility for anything! They're happy to take your money, but once there's a problem, they don't give a damn about you! I will NEVER come back to this place, and I strongly suggest you stay away too. Don't waste your hard-earned money here! There are plenty of other nurseries that actually know how to treat customers. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! THIS PLACE IS NOT WORTH IT!

This place is a hidden gem minutes away from my house. Do not come here expecting printed prices,…read morelabels, caring instructions, or helpful retail assistance. If that is what you require, go to Lowe's. The prices for plants here cannot be beat. Most are priced by the size of pot, and a gallon pot ranges between $2.50-$5.00 (in my experience). I believe the 5 gallon pots are just a few bucks more. Today, something strange happened. A woman who was working there approached me and said I couldn't buy the plant I was holding, it was hers. I was confused and asked if this was a public nursery, as I had bought from here before. She said yes, but the plant I was holding was her houseplant. I asked how I could tell which plants were for sale, & which were hers. She said the plant that I had, plus the plumerias, were her personal plants. I asked why they were here & not at her house & she said because of the greenhouse. Then she suddenly turned course & offered to sell it to me. She told me to follow her & I did, & she led me to the owner. She let him know I wanted to buy it. I had a collection of other plants I intended to buy gathered by the trailer, and I told him that & asked how I could tell which plants were hers & which plants were for sale. Turns out, they're all for sale. I got 6 beautiful gallon plants for $20. Cash only, great selection. This place has so many butterflies flying around, it's not crowded , & it is refreshingly clear of corporate retail bullshit, I can't recommend it enough. I have so many beautiful thriving plants thanks to this nursery.

Mimosa Nursery is one of those places you almost have to experience for yourself…read more The inventory is impressive. I've picked up a miracle fruit tree, passion fruit, and wax apples here, and I'm already planning to come back for a sapodilla and sugar apple if he has them in stock. If you're into rare fruit trees, you'll probably find yourself wandering around longer than you planned. The owner reminds me of Deebo from Friday (the movie). He's usually cruising around the nursery on his beach cruiser with a serious look on his face, making rounds and checking on the trees. He isn't the type to walk you through the nursery or give you a guided tour. If you have questions, you'll probably need to flag him down yourself. The funny thing is he kind of grows on you. His answers are usually short and to the point, and if you're serious about varieties, you'll want to do your own research because the labeling can be a little sketchy and his answers aren't always crystal clear. What won me over is that he's fair on pricing and willing to negotiate. On larger trees, I've been able to bargain him down close to 30%, often even a lot more. That's getting harder and harder to find these days at other nurseries. It's definitely not the polished nursery experience you'll get at some of the other places, but that's part of the charm. Good inventory, good deals, and a memorable owner. I'm not making this stuff up. You just have to come experience it yourself. Maybe go on a Friday! :P

Came here to pick up some fruit trees for my fiance's mom. We tried calling first but no one…read moreanswered, so we planned to stop by instead. When we arrived, we realized we went to the wrong location (our first visit to Mimosa Nursery was somewhere else apparently!) But we still found what we needed. It was a little hard to find at first, so when you arrive, you might not really see the entrance, so I'll attach photos of what to look for. We were the only ones there, got help when we needed it, and found what we were looking for. It's self-guided; no one greeted us or spoke to us until we needed someone to talk to. The people we were speaking with were knowledgeable about their plants and helpful in packing it so dirt wouldn't fall out. Super easy for us to get in & get out, and I'm sure we'll be coming back again for more!
