Great service here as usual. HD carries a wide range of products for home maintenance. Very approachable employees on the floor if you have questions (if you're like me, you are stopping multiple staff with questions). This is where a lot of my learning happens. I am as handy as you need to be to be a homeowner to NOT shell out lots of money on home repairs(I rather spend money on dining out :) . I have learned how to paint, patch ant openings, fixed my toilet, redone grouts, and even trimmed the trees by hanging out here. Remember you can make keys (home, AUTO ,...) here also. Had to fix the sink drainage leak in an older house. Some parts outdated and custom. Carlos gave us great recommendations. Woulda taken me all day to assess the situation, go to Home Depot, find all the parts, come back try, return parts, get the correct parts, try, return, again and again and again. But with Carlos' recommendations, bought all the parts needed and some extensions just in case which we didn't need. Now just need to make another trip to Home Depot. All parts plus glue and extra part came out to less than $20! Thanks for the amazing help. Saved us so much time. Great garden section, mom and sister love coming to check out the plants and seeds for some side gardening projects at home. Also, once a year they have a huge sale on soil! Such a good deal. Also, we bought a ton and didn't even have to load it in our car. The worker was sweating his butt off especially since that dude was really hot. Greatly appreciate the help. Just pulled up our car to the front and gave him a nice lil workout haha. Every first Saturday of the month they have a Kid's workshop! My niece loves coming here to build a little toy. Also gets them started using tools and learning to build things! Fun way to introduce kids to a practical skill. And they get to take home a little toy or craft they built. Self check out is super easy and quick. Just don't forget to grab your items after you put them in the bag lol someone left their shopping haul in the plastic bagging area. The selection is excellent, with beautiful shrubs, herbs, and flowers that are in full bloom. Everything looked well-maintained and thriving, making it a great spot for gardeners of all levels. Right now, they have great deals on ever-bearing strawberries--$3.88 for a six-pack (normally $5.98). Their garden performance plants come primarily from the Burpee brand, which is known for quality. The pot and planter selection is also extensive, though not necessarily the cheapest. However, if you're looking for soil, this is a great place to buy. The Miracle-Gro garden soil deal of 3 for $10 is better than what I've seen at other stores. On a Friday afternoon, the store was busy, and the checkout lines were long, but the efficiency of the staff helped keep things moving. There's plenty of parking available, though the lot itself didn't feel the safest. I noticed groups of people--likely construction workers looking for gigs--wandering around, along with some unhoused individuals near the area. While this didn't directly affect my experience, it's something to be aware of if you're shopping here alone or at night. read more

First they gave me the wrong color of paint. I had to drive back to get the paint changed. Which was already a pretty bad experience. When they were checking out the paint the employee named Carlo spilled it all over the table and became very frustrated since he spilled it over his jeans. From then he decided to ignore me and asked another employee named Christine to take over. They decided to remix the original paint to the correct color, but when I asked Christine whether they would refill the can since a lot of it was spilled by Carlo, she gave me really bad attitude and did not want to promise me that they would refill the paint they spilled. (the can was brand new, I did not use the paint at all due to the color being wrong) Later on, she completely ignored my questions and gave me really bad attitude. We came here to exchange a product from another store purchased earlier in the day. They were extremely helpful with the process and guided us to where we needed to go. This location wasnt as fancy as the other location in Monterey Park with the QR code for some assistance. I went to the Home Depot at 9700 Lower Azusa Rd, El Monte, CA to buy a tool that was clearly priced on the rack, but manager Fernando D refused to sell it to me at that price. When I asked why, he wouldn't give an answer and instead refused me service and told me to leave the store. He kept threatening to call the police but never did -- because there was no reason to. I stayed calm and respectful the entire time. At the end, he even said, "It's fine, I'll wait until I close and you can't buy anything." This was unprofessional, discriminatory, and humiliating. No customer deserves to be treated this way. I hope Home Depot reviews this incident seriously and holds this manager accountable. read more

Racist asf employees! Accused of stealing without any basis of evidence! Asian Americans do not shop here! My family has been remodeling our home, so we frequent this Home Depot often. My dad picked up some concrete and filler needed for our house, after leaving Home Depot, he realized that he bought too much so he went back to return some items and used a separate entrance. A group of employees blocked him outside and stopped him from leaving then one proceeded to accuse him of stealing. My dad had his receipts in hand. My father does not speak English, so naturally he gave me a call. I talked to the associate on the phone and he was extremely hostile. I explained to him that it's probably a misunderstanding and he proceeded to cut me off. He also denied me the opportunity to explain what happened on my dad's behalf. He told me that he had my dad on surveillance and that there's nothing to talk about. I was out celebrating my mother's birthday, so we had to drive to Home Depot only for us to get there and for them to say that the associate changed their story. At first there were some I'm guessing security related individuals who told us that the associate changed their story and that they can't prove my dad stole. If they can't prove it, why did they hold my dad at Home Depot for at least 1 hour? We proceeded to demand an apology from the individual and was denied. They said that they will not single out associates. But they were okay with singling out my dad for stealing. We called up the associate manager was called up and she proceeded to tell us that "it's all a misunderstanding". But no one listened to me when I said that. The associate was no where in sight. They said the associate would be reprimanded, and is going to be given a "warning". That's a real slap on the wrist for something like this. The manager denied being recorded but I really wish I did anyways. The manager's attitude was also extremely condescending. When I asked for her last name, she told me I don't need it. Been coming to this location for past 10+ years and never had any particular reason to review because wasn't good and wasn't bad until today. Last week dropped by to get something and they didn't have it and asked an employee who seem to not know and didn't check. Went again today and I was fortunate enough to come across Stephanie who works there and went above and beyond and helped me out by checking that thing they carry on their hand and then walked all the way to the other end to talk to the manager and then walked back to the other end to provide me the info. She had helped me by going to another employee Richie who can get it from a pallet that's on the top of things. They were extremely helpful and didn't make me feel I was wasting their time. They were actually happy for me that they found what I wanted. I went to Monrovia and Pasadena location, this El Monte location with Stephanie had completely made my day by really helping me. My mom loves this place the service is spot on even the sales people for home services know where everything is in this Home Depot which is really impressive because it's not like that at all of them. The selection here is fairly good and they have the giant skeleton dog decoration to match the giant Halloween skeleton seasonal decoration. I've been coming to this Home Depot for many years and the customer service has always been great! I would make the extra drive just to go to this Home Depot even if another was closer to me. From appliances to random parts and pieces to fixing my home, there's an expert for that here! As a female it can be pretty daunting and nerve racking wondering what I need to fix certain things. The staff here are really patient and informative. The parking sometimes can be tough since it can be full at times and you just have to park a bit far. This Home Depot shares the plaza with Popeyes and a Starbucks up front by the street. So after shopping around you have easy access to coffee and fried chicken. Lately I've been coming here to buy fertilizer, plant food, and mulch a lot. I can't help venturing through the plants and the sections every time I'm here. I want a tree that will bear some sort of fruit! At the same time I worry if it can weather the hot SoCal weather during the summer...so my search continues... Overall, this Home Depot is my go to hardware store, gardening hub, and a place to ask how to fix stuff with no judgment! I highly recommend coming to this Home Depot! read more

Plenty of parking at this location. There's a drive-thru Starbucks in this parking lot. Nice selection of gardening supplies even tho I did not find the bird feeder I wanted. The employees are ok I guess, the do their job. I had to exchange a spray can for a different color and the young lady at the return check out didn't even make eye contact during the entire exchange. Left me with a wierd feeling of disconnect. But, I digress, exchange was done and I got the correct spray paint color I wanted. read more

Extremely disappointed with the customer service at this location. I went to the air conditioner department twice and asked an associate for help. They told me they would page someone to assist me. I distinctly heard the page go out over the loudspeaker, but after waiting for 30 minutes, no one came. I asked a different associates for help, and each time, they assured me someone would be on their way, but again another 20 mins passed, no one ever showed up. This is a complete failure of service. It seems like the employees are either lazy or completely unmanaged. I have to wonder if there is any leadership at this store, because this is an unacceptable way to run a business. read more

Face mask/coverings are a must, while waiting in line for the cashier, the floor is marked where to stand following the 6 feet social distancing mandate. Their Garden department is more extensive than West Co or BP. I found lots of colorful planters. They have a better variety of plants, cacti, and succulents. If paying with cash be sure to have exact change. The cashiers are behind plexiglass shields and carts are being sanitized, just make sure not to get those left at the parking lot because those are clearly marked "not sanitized." read more

I'm taking away one star because the entire process at Home Depot was very time consuming and literally took many hours over many days to resolve. I bought a butchers block counter top and it came damaged. So they sent for a return pick up and sent a 2nd delivery of the same thing. Except the delivery didn't go through so I had to call and stay on the phone for over an hour to get someone to send it over. Long story short I spent many hours on the phone. The 2nd counter top arrived and was just as bad as the first one so I decided to keep the first one. I spoke with Iris, Calyssa, and Adriana and they refunded me shipping fees for both deliveries and ended up giving me 75% off on the damaged block. Very fair I thought. The next day I came in to buy a few more items and do another transaction. I also checked on my refund from the return block. Calyssa was there to help me out and I'm so glad she was. Even though they mixed up the refunds she worked diligently to straighten it up for me. The process got pretty confusing but she was able to keep it straight. And she was friendly, helpful and patient the entire time. I ended up spending about another hour there and the process was pretty cumbersome with many challenges in the way one after another. However, I really appreciated the dedicated help I received from Calyssa and the other smart and beautiful girls that work there. I would come back just because of these helpful girls. Home Depot, if you're reading this, Calyssa is a keeper and you definitely need to give her a raise and promotion and serious acknowledgment. She cares about her customers, she's smart and puts in effort to resolve your issues. She commits to doing her job well. And she made all the difference in my very complicated transaction. read more

I remember back in the days when I use to shop at any Home Depot, people working there were very knowledgeable about what they sell, where everything was located inside the store, and basically can pretty much answer technical questions. How times changed. At this particular location, I asked a couple of employees about table bases, or legs, and if they have it in stock. A simple question and they said that they're not sure, and probably not. I was quite puzzled from their answers, and I said to myself, how can they not have it? I just wanted save time by asking. Anyhow, I thanked them both for their time and I walked around the whole store almost, looking for the table bases. I found them! So much from me asking them. Now it feels like being a Home Depot stocks shareholder is useless and unworthy... Gonna dump my shares! Ok... Breath... LOL. This Home Depot is usually well stocked with almost everything you need in the construction industry or simply fix or replace something at home. I wasn't too happy about the lack of knowledge employees. There should be a training program. Gosh, when I applied to work for Home Depot many moons ago, I had to take a math test before my interview. Does that still happen? I would definitely give them two stars for some of their employees who lacks in knowledge. But, others can be very helpful and understands what's sold in their departments. I asked several times for help to cut a piece of wood. I gave dimensions and offered to pay for a larger piece of wood. My boyfriend who is African American asked for help to get the right dimensions cut. The associate told us he couldn't cut it. I asked why if we buy a bigger piece. I asked for a supervisor to help The assistant manager Brittany told me that they only cut wood for people who need help getting it into their cars. I was so upset that didn't make sense. I kept telling her the sign says they cut wood for customers. BUT the sign says they don't guarantee precise cuts or under 12 inches. I told the associate and Brittany we would by a larger piece for our project. They refused to show us anything from the beginning. She just ignored us. I raised my voice because I thought that she couldn't hear me with my mask on. Is she not hearing us? My boyfriend who is African American was denied service. He had the dimensions and asked for help from the first associate who refused to show us any other kinds of wood. I even asked for the manager but Brittany was the only one there. I was told to leave the store or she would call the police. I told I am a customer who needs help why would I need to be arrested? Now she denies ever threatening to call the police after I called the store to take to the actual store manager. The security guard who was there ended up giving me a free piece of wood that he cut himself after Brittany told him that she couldn't help us. He apologized. My boyfriend couldn't believe that Brittany was threatening to call the police. He left the store and had to wait in the parking lot. The store manager Gabriela Franco will not call us back. I got her name from the security guard who cut the wood for free and included a bottle of Sprite for free and apologized to me. He heard her tell me that she was going to call the police. The store manager needs to hire some black people to work there because they don't treat everyone the same. It is outrageous and would upset anyone dealing with a "Brittany". an read more
