Crape myrtle with much growth
Eric B.

If you're in need of plants, trees Shrubs, etc...look no further. Budget plants has you covered. If you like wasting your hard earned money at large corporate nurseries then by all means, waste away! If you want quality plants and quality service and some of the best customer service out there then Budget plants is your go to company. Budget plants is the Amazon of the plants business IMHO. Not only do that have some quality plants and trees for all of your planting needs, you order it online and it's dropped at your door step. I've ordered and worked with Dominic on many occasions and he's a top quality dude, always wanting to help in any way possible. This is a great small business and it shows. They care about you and your needs and will walk with you every step of the way. I just picked up a Crape Myrtle for the front yard and it's doing great! Go order and see for yourself! It's been about a month or so and I wanted to give an update on how our Crape Myrtle is doing...FANTASTIC!!!! I'll let the pics show for themselves. I wasn't sure if we'd get any flowering this season but it's late in the season from the heavy rains we received this past winter here in so cal and she blossomed beautifully. It's still in a fragile state meaning I needed to stake it to keep it from bending and I'm glad we did because of the tropical storm we received. That would've possibly broke it if I hadn't stake it for support. All in all, Budget Plants is the place I'll be purchasing my plants for all of my plants and tree needs in the future and you should too. If not you'll be spending probably double the price and may not get what you want nor great customer service.

We had previously gone thru and killed 3 batches of Lavendula-Intermedia we had installed from another nursery thru our landscaper. Frustrated by the failure rate, I wanted to find another lavender cultivar and install it own our own. However, it was surprisingly difficult to find a nursery who had lavender, and even if they did, the nurseries often didn't know what specific type of lavender they had. None of the nurseries had an online store of what was in stock. Some nurseries were also quite far away and we didn't want to drive all the way there only to be disappointed. While scouring the internet, I stumbled upon Budget Plants. While I was wary of ordering online, what drew me to Budget Plants is that they are local to Southern California and personally deliver the plants to you. Most importantly, their website offered several types of lavender and clearly noted what was in stock. Back in Feb of this year (2023) we settled on BP's English Lavender. Dominic personally delivered them and graciously answered all our questions. We arranged a Task Rabbit to install the lavender in Feb and now 3 months later in May, the lavenders are thriving. We have so many blooms!

Ordered 5 trees for our hill and trays of ground cover online on their website after being in touch with Dominic who helped with suggestions. Order process was seamless and Martinez who delivered the trees helped carry them a flight of stairs to the side of the house so it won't bake in the hot sun. Highly recommended and will order again!

WOW! I'm glad I found them because I couldn't be happier with the outcome. I was skeptical at first, ordering plants online without seeing any of them, luckily they have a fair return policy but it was not needed. The quality of the plants delivered far exceeded my expectations. The ordering process was simple, I had my plants delivered within a few days and I was lucky enough to meet Dominic (Owner) and his father on the delivery. He hand selected my delivery and gave me some professional tips on maintenance and planting and overall a great experience from beginning to end! Their selection and prices are better than any big box store or major nurseries, they're family owned and that's exactly the kind of service you get! Highly recommend and will be using them for future landscape projects. Thank you Dominic!

I was thinking of using epoxy-stabilized gravel. I had other matching rock in the front yard. I expected to use something smaller per the epoxy maker's recommendations. Alan, Standard Design Group's designer, recommended using 3/4" crushed rock so it would match the pathway through the center of the front yard. This was terrible advice. Epoxy-coated rock is much darker than uncoated rock, so matching the size was irrelevant. The epoxy-coated 3/4" rock has enormous spaces between the rocks that trap trash and leaves and allow weeds, wildflowers, and the neighboring palm trees to germinate in them. Weeding the porous structure is very difficult. Pulling the wildflowers has broken loose large chunks of the epoxy-coated rock. Small chunks and individual rocks are breaking free from foot traffic. Alan never visited the site. He underestimated the amount of epoxy required. The installation crew's foreman was going to leave patches of the rock uncoated. When I saw it and told him that it was not what I expected, he had the workers mix some of the already coated and curing rock with the dusty, uncoated rock. This resulted in weak bonding with even larger spaces between the rocks. There were still uncoated patches left. I contacted Standard Design Group by email after the installation and again after chunks of rock began breaking free. I did not receive a response.

We got a very cute little money tree for $10 inside a cute pot! We went to another nursery and saw the same size trees/smaller than the ones at Temple for about the same price but sold without a nice ceramic pot, so this was definitely a better buy here. We also got this really cute little bamboo that was also sold within a nice ceramic pot for about $10. When we got to the register we saw the same bamboo in the same pot behind the register, but it looked healthier. I said to my boyfriend, "Do you think we should ask to get that one instead?" The cashier overheard and grabbed the nicer bamboo and got it ready for us! He even grabbed some of the stalks from the other bamboo plant we originally grabbed and transplanted it into our new pot to give us even more/make it look bigger and nicer. Again, he did all this without us even asking or saying anything so this was super nice!! They also have cheap pots here that are very traditional chinese looking with the painted flowers and birds. We bought a beautiful pot for only $9 here with a cute little drip tray that almost looked like a teacup saucer at restaurants. They also had some $3 small pots that would be great for succulents. The pots were kinda dirty and covered in spiderwebs, but honestly the price was good and they were still in great condition so i didnt care LOL They had some funny little animal pots too with frogs and elephants. This place was cute and affordable and the staff was nice to us, so id go back again! Just wish i had a yard so i could get some of these fruit trees! Parking was easy. They have a little lot, but the spots are a little tight. It wasn't an issue, though! They also take credit card here.

Pros for this location aside it being just minutes away from my house is its huge parking lot. Cons is their broken shopping carts. Not sure why but if you take the shopping cart outside, the wheels freezes up where you would need to lift up the cart to move it out of the middle of the parking lot. This happens every time and not just to me, but also those around me with shopping carts. It's extremely frustrating when you have bigger items in your cart and need to carry it to your car. Like most HomeGoods stores, it is directly connected to a TJ Maxx where you can find apparel and accessories for the whole family. I don't shop there so I just usually get what I need at HomeGoods and head straight to checkout. Overall, HomeGoods in general is one of my favorite retail store, because I love shopping for home decor and kitchen things. My favorite location is probably the store in Pasadena or Walnut. My obsession? Their $0.99 reusable bags - I literally have hundreds of them, because they seem to come out with different designs every week. My trunk is full of their bags but I still go in without them so I could buy new ones to add to my collection.
