Came here on a rainy day today to pick up some dumplings. This was my first time coming here. Food was not bad but it was annoying to be charged a "take out" fee that was automatically added to my bill. Ordering food that is over $75 for lunch and then having annoying extra fees added leaves a bad taste in my mouth. But the worst part was coming to the car and seeing they hadn't closed the lids properly and all the hot and sour soup had leaked into the plastic bag. Even the vinegar wasn't closed so it leaked into the soup dumplings. Completely disgusted with the service and added garbage fees. I won't be coming back for sure!

Although we drive by here often, this was the first time we've tried this restaurant. We were craving soup dumplings and this one was new to us. Service was excellent! We noted how warmly our server greeted his regular diners. We were seated quickly by a cozy window with a street view and our dumplings came out quickly. They were delicious and hit the spot for us. We ordered both the chicken and pork soup dumplings and really enjoyed the pork ones more. But a favorite for us we're the handmade pan fried pork, shrimp and chive dumplings. We will definitely be back.

BEST SPOT FOR CHINESE COMFORT FOOD. I've gone to all of the similar type of restaurants in the 626 -- Prince Dumpling, Mr. Dragon Noodle House, P P Pop, but Dumpling Tops is my favorite! The owner (I think) who is the asian man is SO sweet and checks in with every table and seems like the kindest soul. Customer service is 10/10. My go to orders are the pork potstickers, green beans, and the spicy beef noodle soup. The beef noodle soup is SO good and honestly compares to Din Tai Fung's. Noodles are thin and chewy and beef is so tender. The pork potstickers have the crispiest top and juiciest soup and pork inside. The green beans are also cooked to perfection, seasoned with lots of garlic. Please show this restaurant more love if you're ever in South Pas or the SGV! I love hole in the wall spots like these that are not overhyped. Has such a homey vibe too it inside too and is super super clean. 10/10 spot if you want authentic Chinese comfort food!

I thought it was nice to have a highly rated Chinese restaurant outside of the typical 626 areas and wanted to check them out. Ordered some takeout for lunch on a Saturday. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. The beef noodle soup was super salty. It was so salty that I had to dilute it with hot water; it was otherwise inedible. The spicy pork wontons were wrapped in thick dumpling wrappers instead of the typical thin wonton skins. Very strange and way too thick. I ended up tossing most of it. The scallion pancakes were thin but flavorless. Perhaps they could've used some of that salt in the beef noodle soup. It also lacked a bit of the airiness in a properly fried pancake. The hargow and shumai were decent tho. I would perhaps be happy to see a place like this somewhere like Pittsburgh where legitimate Chinese food is scarce; but, not in the 626 areas

The spicy beef noodle soup is bomb ! The meat is always tender and flavorful and the noodles were cooked perfectly. I ordered fried tofu and it came with some chopped chilies to spice it up, perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The waiter was very attentive and would check on the customers /and make conversations. The restaurant looks clean and has plenty of light coming through the windows.

Was on the 210 freeway and looked up dumplings, this place was recommended and had tons of great reviews so we gave it a try last night! Service was amazing, our servers were kind and continuously checking to see if there was anything we needed. We went closer to their closing time so the restaurant was empty, which at first made me think it wasn't a good sign but luckily the reviews were right and our experience was great as well as the food. Restaurant was clean, restrooms were also very clean. Pork Soup Dumplings 10/10 Spicy Wontons 10/10 Orange Chicken with side of rice 10/10 Cucumber Salad 10/10 Pork shrimp with chive dumplings 10/10 I liked how the soup dumplings were a little smaller than usual which made it a little easier to eat :) Overall very delicious and we will be back

Loved it!! A friend had a birthday party there and it was so good I took my son! Cucumber salad was soooo good! Refreshing and crispy! Beef rolls and beef noodle soup were a hit!! Scallion pancakes weren't bad! Spicy pork dumplings were similar to DTF! Don't sleep on Dumpling Tops! It's worth a try!!

This restaurant is called dumpling tops but I think their noodles are the best dishes to order. I had the lobster tail noodles, which was only $20 a bowl but it has a lobster tail, well-cooked vegetables and a real lot of noodles. The broth was very thick, it's the tonkutsu-style thickness. Noodles are very chewy and yummy. It's better than most noodle places. I had XLB and buns too, but I think they're average. Half of the 8 XLBs I had had their soup leaked onto the steaming plate. The bun's filling was a small portion. The veggie dumplings were quite good, though. It's fresh and delicious. Friendly and very quick service! Good vibes in the afternoon. They have parking at the back on Hope St passing a small alley (not the parking lot on Fair Oaks Ave).

Small Dog Friendly! The main reason we paid a visit to Dumpling Tops was because one of our friends had a dog (who is really well behaved). We had came from a 6 mile run and were starved! Dumpling Tops had a wide variety of Chinese/Taiwanese dishes. The staff were friendly and very accomodating. The noodle dishes were okay. I thought the noodles were a little too soft but the flavor was good. It's more mild and tamed than other places I've tried - but it gives a home cook feel. I think the winning dishes for me were the pan fried pork dumplings and beef roll. They had such a hearty mouth feel and gave a satisfying bite - a mix of crispy, crunchy and chewy texture between the pan fried dough and meaty filling. Definitely a place you should check out if you're in the South Pasadena area.

    Interesting, this was sweet

First time here for me, the cucumber salad was sweet but addicting, different than what I'm used to. The spicy beef noodle soup was very good, love the broth. The pork dumplings were good just needed a dipping sauce. Service was good. Love that it's close to home.

We didn't question it and started eating. Midway through our meal, the manager came over and said it was actually a mistake - that the cucumbers were a paid item. He gave us two options: keep eating and get charged, or have it taken away and not be charged. At that point, we had already eaten about half. Of course, we declined the extra charge since we genuinely thought it came with our order. What happened next is what lost me as a customer. The manager took the dish and immediately dumped it in the trash right behind me, where I could hear it. It felt unnecessary and honestly a bit disrespectful. A better way to handle it would've been to acknowledge the mistake and just comp the dish this time. Instead, it turned into an awkward moment over what couldn't have been more than a few dollars' worth of cucumbers. Not a great experience, and not a place I'd return to based on how this was handled.

My fiancee ordered the Bulgogi entree that comes with steamed rice & miso soup. They are not stingy with meat here and the meat quality is pretty good. 10/10 for him. The nigiri had pretty big pieces of salmon on top so the ratio of fish to rice was a little unbalanced, not enough rice. The salmon was good quality though, 8/10. Parking here in Pasadena can be a bit tough but not near Sushigah. Next to it is a huge indoor parking lot where it's only $1 per 2 hours, very much worth it. The menu here is very extensive, ranging from sushi rolls, sushi, ramen, udon, standard sushi apps, bento boxes, etc. Our orders were taken pretty quick, service I'd say was around a 7/10. We were checked on a couple times but seem like the staff weren't fully paying attention as I asked for some extra utensils and my partner asked for the other dishes that our order comes with but they were all forgotten, requiring a 2nd request before receiving our items. Other than that, service was pretty good. It was great that the staff was friendly and quick. -- WHAT WE ORDERED -- Cheese Bulgogi ($25) Rainbow Roll ($18) Mango Cha Cha Roll ($20) Lemon Salmon Roll ($19) Salmon Bento Box ($21) Out of all the rolls, the Mango Cha Cha is the standout. From the pictures posted, it seem to be the most unique roll and the most popular roll to try. Highly recommend trying this as it has a great flavoring balance between the ingredients and the mango on top. MUST TRY!!!! The cheese bulgogi is also pretty underrated. Although a bit on the expensive side, if you like both combined, this is the dish for you. Love the variation of the dish, and it was also cooked to perfection. The bento box is great as well, presented very nicely, and portion is huge I'd say. A great box to eat on the go or at the restaurant. Not too expensive as well.

This place just earned a permanent spot on my list. I ordered the vegetarian pho and it blew me away -- easily one of the best bowls I've had. The broth was rich, deeply layered, and clearly made with intention. What really set it apart were the vegetables. We're talking lotus root, chayote squash, and a rotating cast of unique, seasonal additions that you just don't see at your average spot. It wasn't just filling -- it was thoughtful. But here's where Nha Trang really separated itself: the way they treated my child. From the moment we sat down, the staff brought out a perfectly sized little plate, bowl, and fork just for him -- without us even asking. They even brought out a small pair of scissors to cut his noodles to the perfect size. That one gesture alone told me everything I needed to know about this place. And when he finished eating? They brought him coloring pencils to keep him occupied. It was the kind of quiet, attentive hospitality that makes parents feel seen. The space itself is beautiful -- warm, welcoming, and clean. The kind of place where you actually want to linger over your meal instead of rushing out. Five stars, no hesitation. Whether you're coming solo, on a date, or with a toddler in tow -- Nha Trang delivers. We'll be back soon. Probably very soon.
