Came to BP last Thursday night and waited an hour to be seated, we were 8th in line when we checked in at their kiosk. There was unfortunately no where on yelp to check in so I believe you need to be at the restaurant to check in. Ordered the beef hot pot option and really enjoyed it, I got the 3 level spice and I would say that it was pretty spicy! I enjoyed the variation of different types of vegetables and tofu there was in there. The meat was really good, I wish they added a bit more to the pot. I will say there was a lot of cabbage, possibly too much cabbage so I would order less of that next time. Cant wait to go back and try the other meats and hot pot flavors. We tried to order Boba near the end of our meal and one of the waitresses said that the kitchen was closed. I wish we had been told that there was some type of last call since we were still dining and the restaurant was open till 9 pm. Ugh. I hate dishing out money for hot pot but Boiling Point is worth every penny. We stopped at Boiling Point for our last meal in Seattle and of course there was a wait. Thank goodness for the number system! Check in on the iPad! We actually missed our time the first time around but we were seated pretty quickly since we came back from Young Tea once the crowd died down. First off - no outside drinks. Understandable, since they do sell their own beverages here. We were told to put our drinks away - pretty difficult when it's an iced drink in a plastic a straw - but at least they didn't throw them away. I ordered the house special hot pot and it was so tasty! Standard hot pot fillings, including fermented tofu (aka, stinky tofu, so be warned). We all also added a bowl of rice with a soft boiled egg and omg it was worth every penny. Service was a little slow and it took a while for our food - or it seemed to take a while since we were cutting it close for our flight out of Seattle. My only other complaint is that there isn't a location in Atlanta!!! Boiling Point, whether this location or others, is a must visit when on the West Coast! read more

A standard boiling point location - was not super busy on a Monday evening, 6pm and no wait. I got the house special and husband got the Korean spicy pot. There was also a promotion - $1 extra for matcha jelly so we got that as well. Service was quick, food is consistently good. One thing I noticed is that boiling point used to offer 4 different sauces, but there were only 2 types now. Maybe for cost cutting purposes? 4/5 for the food. Also if you didn't know - come for lunch and the food is cheaper, plus they give you a free tea. You can park at the Uwajimaya parking lot and they will validate the parking ticket. One complaint is that the restroom and toilet was really gross! I won't go too much into detail or you will lose your appetite. So hold your pee ladies when you come and you will be fine! read more

For awhile, I've walked by Boiling Point and looked in an thought this place must be amazing. I mean boiling soup on a rainy Seattle day has to be a winner. The average Yelp review had to be wrong as I've always seen a line of people waiting for a table. Was my illusion shattered in the first 5 minutes of sitting down. Boiling Point is like a Benihana's. The show is the fire plate and watching your soup boil but the food is really average. I might come back with a group of friends just for the fun but I'm never coming back for the food. The soup is a random mix of ingredients which if you had food allergies might be a serious problem. I had the lamb dish and there was a single clam in it. I can't figure it out the reason for it or anything else. The ingredients were average but not quality. All of the meat was still cold despite half the boiling for 3 minutes and the server wanting to put out the flame. (Despite what some might think: I am not hating to be a hater. I am a hating because the ingredients we're so frozen that 3 minutes of boil in front of me and they were still cold. Which likely means the broth wasn't hot when they poured it on. The plates in the pictures are not even close to the dish I was served. The kitchen doesn't care about the customers. Most of the servers are in their own world. The food I got were low quality and most didn't need to be there. Why a single clam with my lamb? Dishes must have been created by marketing department looking to maximize profit and not by anyone with taste.) Lunch prices are $16-19 and diner was $5 more. (Since someone complained about my prices, these aren't the theorocial menu prices. You can get less if you go for the most basic lunch and forget about tax.) You, rice or noodles and an Iced Tea. Not bad but your in the international district. You can get a better Asian inspired soup for less. Heck, you could get a real hot pot for the same price (maybe less). $4 for tea is crazy. Most of the staff is running around but they don't seem to be doing much. I had one great waitress whose name I didn't get but i had trouble getting the attention of others. My best friend loved this place the last time she came to Seattle. We both went there before heading to a cruise, but I was fairly disappointed. I got the seafood hot pot and if I had known how small the seafood portion would be I would have gotten something else. I just felt like the quality of the food was sub par. I also ordered an old fashion milk tea with bubbles and herbal jelly. I specially told them the black jelly. The server brought out a small dessert cup that looked like pudding and a few other things. I sent it back and pointed to the milk tea of the table next door. I told them the old fashion and told them we had to rush to our hotel to make the boat. I got the tea and left. When I left I tasted it and it didn't taste like milk tea and there was no herbal jelly. So I looked at the receipt in the Uber, instead got charged on the receipt for Hokkaido, pudding and bubbles, but in the milk tea was only bubbles. Neither the pudding or what should have been herbal jelly was there. The place was very clean and the servers were quick which was a positive. This is my first time having hot pot I did really enjoy it but the service and stuff isn't the best. The brass gets boiling hot pretty quick and I have to ask for the staff to turn it off. The pots are filled with a lot so I tried to eat some toppings before adding in my noodles. by then my boss got cold so I had to ask them to heat it up again. Within a few minutes it was boiling like crazy again and I blew out the flame myself. I wish we were able to control the flame. The place is also a bit pricey and you can very easily order lots of extras that are unnecessary. The food as is was really feeling. we were a little short on our sauces at the table but we made it work since it was hard to get a hold of our waitress. I had the flavored teas which were good and they were in to go cups which was nice to take out after leaving. we did get a shot sample of the lemonade they give for lunch it was really good. This place has really delicious hot pots and it was the perfect meal during a rainy day in Seattle! We came in during dinner time on a Saturday and waited around 20 minutes for a party of 5. They can text you when the table is ready, which is nice so that way you don't have to stand around waiting. The inside is very modern, but also extremely busy which might explain the lack of cleanliness in their bathroom stalls. As for parking, we didn't realize that they validate parking for 2 hours, so we ended up paying for parking in a lot nearby. I ordered the beef hot pot which is around $15 for dinner. It was soooo yummy and came with vegetables, lots of beef, vermicelli noodles, tofu, and some other stuff. My bf got the seafood and tofu hot pot which was tasty as well. Now you may be wondering why I didn't give this place a higher rating. Other yelpers did mention poor service here, but the server we had was just flat out rude. The bf's sister is allergic to seafood and peanuts which greatly limits the options she has to eat here. She opted for the Japanese miso hot pot ($19) and wanted the seafood on the side. Sounds simple right? Well the server says he can't do that, so we ask if we can substitute the seafood for something else like beef or pork. He says we can't do that. Fine. Well it doesn't make sense to charge the same price for a hot pot when she can't even eat any of the seafood in it or substitute it for something else! I've never been to a restaurant that wasn't able to accommodate to someone's allergies. Smh Boiling Point. Oh, and on top of that, we asked what ingredients were in the sauce jar, and the server was like "sauce". Well no duh! Boiling Point just so happens to be one of those restaurants I judged for the longest time before actually stepping foot inside and I am honestly so obsessed with their food!! I've spent the last four years of my life hating on perfection. They make really delicious hot pot, but not the "traditional" kind. They kind of just throw a bunch of protein and veggies into a soup of your choice and voila you have yourself a meal, but with a side of rice or noodles of course. If you're lucky enough to come before 3PM, you get a complimentary tea. I always order the beef hot pot and have never ventured out. I don't really plan to, especially if their hot pots are consistently made the same. It's delicious each time I go. The sauces that are offered at their tables are amazing as well. Pro tip!!! Hands down my favorite hot pot place at the moment. They actually follow through on their spice scale, and their soups/hot pots are flavorful, portioned well, and balanced with plenty of veggies and meat. The wait time varies depending on what hours you arrive (peak/not), but generally I don't mind since I'm there for the food. Service is okay, not the best but when I go I don't really care about the service. Food usually comes out fast and if I need something I usually just flag down the first person I see for help. The Taiwanese Spicy was my go to, but it's definitely not recommended if you can't handle spice since it's only available in the "Flaming" spice option. It's also one of the hot pots available only in a large size as well. Usual add on is quail eggs. However, on our recent trip I decided to try one of their new soups; the Mala Tri-Beef Hot Soup in the "Hot" spice level (also avail in the "Flaming", but I was sharing with the Hubs), and have to say I have a new favorite! I prefer this soup much more simply because it was a beef focused dish (meat and flavor wise) with the addition of pork intestine. Plenty of meat, great balance of spice and flavors, and I loved the Chinese lettuce and potatoes in the dish. I didn't care for the tripe or tendon, but there was so much sliced beef I had plenty to eat. I added on quail eggs and instant noodles and will plan to keep the order that way. Came with a group of 7 for dinner at around 6:30pm on a Friday night, and while there was a wait, we got seated pretty quickly. The portions looked small when we looked around at the other tables, but I was surprised to see that it was a pretty big portion, as the pot is fairly deep. I got the House Special, non-spicy ($15.35) with side vermicelli noodles (part of the free add-on). I liked that the broth had a distinct Asian flavor, and some of the toppings inside were very interesting, as I've never seen fried taro or pork intestines in a hot pot before. The servers were attentive with waters, but I had to remind the servers about our add-ons (rice and noodles) and didn't receive them until half-way through our meal. Another Boiling Point, same great taste! I'm a huge Boiling Point fan and I'm love how easily accessible they are where ever you are in Seattle. If you go North, there's one in Edmonds. If you go east, there's one in Bellevue. If you're in Downtown, there's one right here in Chinatown. Located in the same plaza as Uwajimaya, this Boiling Point location is a pretty good size. There are tons of tables and the service is QUICK. They don't play around here when it comes to delivering food (something that is a problem at other Boiling Point locations). It's also nice how you can opt to receive a text to alert you when your table is ready. That way, you can do your grocery shopping at Wajis next door while waiting. I always stick to the house special (stinky tofu) and it never fails me. All of the pots are packed with flavor and spice. There is also a healthy amount of meat and veggies in each pot which leaves you more than full when you're done. I also recommend the hokkaido milk tea if you want a good drink to enjoy with your hot pot. It's sweet and milky, if you're into that sort of thing. Tis' the season for hot pot, came by for lunch and it was very busy. Good thing we got there on the early side of lunch time and got a table, but minutes later a line was starting for form out the door. Anyways, it's individual hot pots in front of your face with your choosing of their signature hot pots or you can start customizing by adding on items into your hot pot. I decided to get the House Special hot pot, the menu describes what's in it but if my memory serves me correctly, it had sliced pork, enoki mushrooms, napa, fermented tofu, meatballs, quail eggs, intestines, some veggies, and a rice ball. Probably a few more items. It was all ok, you can get your broth spicy or not. As the name mentions, it was at the boiling point, and it came out boiling. You can tell them to turn off the flame if you want. Flavors were all just ok, it's just everything thrown into a hot cauldron of soup/broth. Ingredients inside the hot pot were ok, nothing special but nothing bad. My friend got the Beef hot pot, but spicy. She seemed to think everything was ok as well. No major issues from her to report. Lunch comes with a bowl of rice and a tea drink. Service was fine, they came by to check on us a few times, and also to clear out anything etc. Price seemed pretty good given the amount of food you get. A lot of hot pots to choose from, you will probably find something to your liking. Oh BP, how I adore this place. I've been to every BP location in WA, but always come to this ID location due to its close proximity. I crave hot pot almost every other day, and boiling point is just so much more convenient than traditional hot pot places. Lunch and dinner rushes will guarantee that you'll have a long wait, sometimes up to an hour or more, so I suggest going right before those rushes hit. They also validate parking at the Uwajimaya parking lot, which is fantastic. My go-to is definitely the non spicy beef pot, which includes your choice of either vermicelli or rice. Lunch hours will add on a free green tea, so that's nice. I also love the miso pot, but wish they offered it in a smaller pot option. And let me tell ya, the garlic pork dish is so incredibly delicious. I thrive from the garlic sauce, it's seriously the best! Drink wise, I really enjoy their yogurt green tea with aloe or Hokkaido milk tea w/ tapioca. Can't go wrong with those options! THIS PLACE IS AWESOME! Before coming in I asked a friend what I should get and she said the beef and everyone else she goes with gets the beef. She did say that the Taiwanese spicy (only in flaming hot) is good but VERY spicy. And the Thai Fushion is similar to tom yum soup. I read a lot of reviews before I came so I was really prepared (lol). Coming to this location it is in the Uwagimaya lot and they do validate parking so don't forget to have them validate it before you leave. When you get there they have an iPad to either get a ticketed number or put your phone number in and they will text you when it's ready. First off, why would you get a ticketed number to just wait outside than get a text and walk around? That's just me, texting seems easier. They do call numbers over an intercom but it is not that loud so be careful. So, for our first visit there we both got beef, I got mine in medium and my boyfriend got his in hot. Both with a side of vermicelli. Reading the reviews it seems like everyone here is very weak to spice because the medium and hot are not THATTTTTT spicy. But the pot itself is so so so good. The broth is just something else and it's a fun experience eating everything and trying to figure out what is what in your hot pot. I really like that they will give you more broth for free or reflame your pot. We went during lunch time so you get a free iced green or black tea. There are four different sauces that are present at your table that you can use for dipping. We also got sat at a two top table, which fit everything but you did feel crammed. The second time we went; I got the Thai fusion in hot and my boyfriend got beef in flaming. Both again, where not that spicy! I don't know maybe we have crazy spice palates, who knows. But I would not recommend the Thai fushion, it was I guess "similar" to tom yum but not the same and it was very sour and honestly a little bit odd. It also came with crab legs but nothing to crack them with? So I ended up using my hands and the broth squirted in my eye (not fun). All the fixins in the Thai fushion were not as "filling" as the beef though even though it is actually a larger pot. I feel like the beef fixins are more substantial and it seems like there is a variety. I just don't know if fish really works in the hot pot, I would like to try adding in shrimp to the beef. We sat at a larger booth this time and it was so nice to have more room. A lot of the reviews on Yelp complain about the service. This is the same service at any Asian restaurant that you go to (not saying it's an excuse it just is!). If you want water, ask. If you want more broth, ask. If you want whatever just ask! I honestly never had a problem with getting more water or having to ask for it, they do go and refill it for you. And also ask about broth without us asking. Maybe it varies but it does not bother me! Definitely stick to the beef pot. That one seems to be a winner all around and just has the best ingredients in it and the best broth. I think if you really like spicy go a level higher than you think. Also, if you sit close to the door the steam from your pot will keep going in your face because people open and close that door so much, kinda annoying but just sit to the side if you have a larger table. read more

Boiling Point is an extremely popular chain in California and I've heard raving reviews but finding it in Seattle gave me a chance to try it for the first time. This location is in a plaza along with the Uwajimaya grocery store. FREE TWO HOUR VALIDATED PARKING in the LOT. We came for lunch and put our name on the iPad. Waited outside until they sent us the text that our table was ready. LUNCH is the best time to go. The prices are cheaper, you get a FREE ICED TEA, and you have time to digest and walk it off because it's a lot of food. Btw they have an awesome website. Easy to navigate and see pictures of the food. I originally wanted to try the Taiwanese Spicy but they make that in a bigger sharing pot and I already had a hard time finishing my individual pot. I got the LAMB pot with VERMICELLI noodles and an iced BLACK TEA. It had plenty of toppings and already came with an EGG. Everyone else had to add the egg to their pot. I got my pot FLAMING because I love the heat, however, I do warn you that restroom trips might not be fun after. OMG this Boiling Point is so much better than the location in Bellevue. I have been to the location in Bellevue years ago, I was not happy with the small portion at all. I made a note to always visit other restaurants when I am back in the area. After hearing about this new location in ID/Chinatown, I wasn't too thrilled to check it out. However, my friend convinced me to try it. I came by on a weekday (at around 12:30 PM) and there was a line! What? I got a number and signed up for mobile notification alert. About 20 minutes later, I got seated. Lunch prices cost slightly less than dinner portions. They do have a wide selection for lunch options (11 AM to 3 PM). They also have a wide beverage selection but keep in mind that there is no refill. I decided to try something spicy and got Taiwanese spicy and it was actually manageable! I also decided to step out of my comfort zone and tried the Fermented Tofu, which was not too bad. The service was fast and pretty good. Boiling point is an individually portioned hot pot restaurant right next to Uwajimaya. Conveniently, it validates parking in the Uwajimaya parking lot. My boyfriend and I came Friday evening, and they were packed. The wait was about 30minutes for 2 people, and they texted us when our table was ready. I ordered the Taiwanese Spicy and my boyfriend order the Tomato Hot Soup. The Taiwanese Spicy is definitely a good amount of spice, and I typically enjoy spicy foods so I really enjoyed the broth. The toppings were well portioned and the hot pot overall was very good. My husband and I definitely wanted to see if Boiling Point is worth the hype, and now I can confirm that it's pretty special. I realize the wait times are often long, but the staff honestly does everything they can to make the experience as efficient as possible. Your food comes right away and fully heats on a "mini wok on a box." The whole place smells a little bit like gas because of these "mini woks" but it is very effective at keeping your soup hot! I ordered the No. 4 beef, which had a beautiful assortment of veggies and a generous amount of beef. My husband and I both ordered "medium" spiciness and we were both struggling! Both of us like a bit of spice, but next time "mild" will be sufficient. Luckily our water glasses were refilled many times. Please be aware that the spice level is hotter than at other asian restaurants. It was a fun experience and made for a good date night. I would love to go again on another cold night! read more

I really don't understand why people are so obsessed with this place. For one, the wait times are usually long (which usually is a good sign), but the wait was definitely not worth it. I found their soup to be too salty and overpowering. I also didn't really like the options of their sets they offered. It would be nice if they had more of a variety of choices. Back at BP again. Perhaps I've normalized to the quality at last. I can finally enjoy BP for what it is now.

Currently waiting in line and I am seeing at least 4 clean tables but the hostess is so incompetent she leaves about 20 people waiting here while she does whatever she is doing at the cash register. They really need to hire someone who can just seat people and take money. I have never seen someone so incompetent. Food is always the same at BP so I'm not going to wait until the food comes out to leave this place a review. Please hire people who can actually do a simple job... Update after dinner: we had to literally hunt someone down to take our order after like 15 minutes, waited at least 20 minutes for our food, waited another 5 for the rice to come AFTER the food had been sitting on our table, waited a few more minutes for the drinks (after food came out) and then had to literally yell at someone to give us our check. I am never coming back to this BP again...they seem to be adequately staffed, so it shouldn't be this slow. We got there a little after 7 and left about 930. I was pleasantly surprised by this boiling point. Normally I'm a fan of tasty pot and always disappointed by boiling point. This location in Seattle however was very good! Service was fast and food was tasty. The one minor annoyance is the fact that they frequently have a very long wait but you must get there in person to get on the waitlist - no Yelp waitlist option :/ read more

Boiling Pot is the type of place you CRAVE on a cold, winter day. The only downsides of this place are 1. Parking (they do seem to validate though) 2. The wait (even during lunch hours there's a wait) and 3. Price (a bit high in my opinion). There are many menu items though for people with different tastes. My favorite is the milk curry because it's creamy, hearty, with a bit of kick. I would mostly come here during lunch because the price is a couple bucks cheaper and you get a free tea with your meal. The wait was about 15 minutes which wasn't too bad. For first timers, and people who haven't tried hot pot before, I suggest getting the milk curry or the beef soup. Other choices might be a bit too strong on distinct taiwanese flavors and spices. read more

If you are a fan of Hotpot then go here at least once to try it out. At first, I am going to be honest and say I was not a big fan. When I came back a year later, I decided it was okay and good enough if I was too lazy to go make hotpot on my own. Normally I order the Beef Hot Soup. The ingredients seem like what you would get in Asia, kinda generic. The flavor is good but not anything special or amazing. The line and wait is long if you go at any meal time. The entry way is super small and normally there is a big crowd so you are either waiting outside or smooshed up against people. I heard you can maybe call ahead and put you name down but I have not done that yet. Would try if you have more than 2 probably. It is clean but not the cleanest restaurant. You can see into the Kitchen from some of the seats which to me was a downside, normally I do not like to see into the restaurant kitchen unless it is a fancy restaurant where you are supposed to see in. Overall, I think this restaurant chain is just okay. Your average hotpot place. Go here once if you have not been and keep going if you are just craving hotpot and are too lazy to make it yourself. read more
