The places that do serve good breakfast usually has a line that is a mile long. So when I saw the coming soon sign up for Aloha Stacks, I am like the Marvin commercial..."open open open." This morning, I finally had time to visit this place with my wife and my foodie son. First of all, the indoor space is not very big. However, it has plenty of outdoor seating. Unfortunately, because of the overnight rain, the seats are all wet outside. We were able to find a 2 seater table that can fit the 3 of us. The service is great and the food comes out really fast. I am constantly hunting for the best loco moco. So of course I had to order the loco moco with the hamburger patty. My wife ordered the breakfast burrito with Kahlua pork. And my son ordered the banana Nutella and cream crepes. My loco moco was good. The grevy was tasty and the hamburger patty was well cooked. The patty seems like the frozen Costco patty. Which I don't mind at all for my loco moco. The only complaint I had was my rice was cold and not enough grevy. Not the best loco moco that I ever had, but, it satisfies my craving. I didn't eat enough of the breakfast burrito and the crepes and do a fair assessment. So I will leave that for the next visit. Complete disappointment. I have a pretty decent standard with Hawaiian/Filipino fusion. Knowing this was in Irvine, I had high expectations, considering it's pretty hard to mess that type of cuisine up. I ordered to-go: UBE latte and breakfast burrito. A breakfast burrito is so hard to mess up! But unfortunately I was let down. The burrito had absolutely no flavor. Even both sauces it came with, o Lu made the burrito tolerable. The UBE latte was mid. It tasted like there was only one shot of expresso and barely taste the UBE. With that said, the price was in par with what it SHOULD cost, but I wasn't happy with the quality. We came on a Monday morning so it wasn't busy and the outside seating was nice. We sat next to the water fountain so it was quite peaceful. Luckily, we got our food quickly. The only thing that I would say was good about our food was the Macnut French toast and the Maui ice tea. My steak was cooked nicely but other than that, it went downhill. It was a bit too salty and the potatoes were dry. The omelette had over cooked meat, the egg itself was oily, and the rice was dried out.
