This is very cozy place ran by a Korean family. They are very nice and friendly. My friends and I have come here a few times already and have tried most of the menu. The food is affordable and delicious. The sandwich combos all come with fries, and a salad. I believe their fries may be better than McDonald's fries. Cutlet combos come with salad and soup. This is definitely a place I will come back to often.
Street parking only, though I usually don't have trouble finding parking. Comfy small space. Service is friendly. The Spicy Shrimp Tempura Kimbap was large portion. Good thing I was sharing! It was filling with a good kick. The crunch adds great texture. The Beef Udon is flavorful. There is a good amount of toppings. The fresh crisp onions balance the marinated tender beef. The noodles were on the mushier side, but I still enjoyed it (ate the whole bowl!) The Cheeseburger was done well. It came on a huge platter with crispy well salted fries and a fresh salad. Although, the salad had a tad bit too much dressing, which seeped towards the fries and into the pepperoncini. Maybe a separate bowl for the dressing and/or salad would fare better. Overall great dishes that taste homemade.
I happened to be in the area and was looking for something to eat when we came across Yoodon on Google. We decided to give it a try, and I'm so glad we did! This small, hole-in-the-wall spot truly delivers big on flavor. The food here is absolutely delicious and packed with flavor. We tried the chicken stir fry, the spicy shrimp tempura kimbap, and the chicken cutlet--all absolutely amazing. The chicken ramen was also rich, flavorful, and comforting. Honestly, I can't even pick a favorite dish because everything was so good! The lady at the front was so sweet and welcoming, which gave the place a lovely, family-owned vibe. For the quality of the food, the prices are really reasonable. This spot is more of a grab-and-go kind of place, even though they have seating available--it's a bit small for dining in, but perfect for takeout. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in the area. Highly recommend!
Great Korean food at reasonable prices! My son and I both had the chicken cutlet- it was fried to perfection. Light crispy batter with a yummy sauce on the side. Came with soup, rice and salad. My mom had the bulgoki kimono- she is a light eater but ate the whole thing. My daughter had the spicy ramen and found the medium spicy was overwhelming. Only about 5 tables. Glad we got a seat. Would definitely eat here again!
Along Northern Blvd there is no lack of Korean comfort food spots, but despite the multitudes Yoodon is a standout with their delicious food, large portions and friendly mom & pop vibe. Their neatly organized and straight forward menu lays out the options - sandwiches, kimbap, ramen, stir-fry, cutlet and of course their homonym namesake udon. The sandwiches are served on a large slab of round wood with a massive mound of fries and salad. The buns are fluffy brioche ones and whatever option you choose you will be happy with and walk out feeling full. You may find slightly less expensive kimbap options around the area, but none come close to the size and deliciousness of what they are packing here. The rolls are huge and filling - some even have extra topping on the side that you can add to your bites. The udon is probably what I get most often with shrimp tempura being a fav - I love dipping the large crunchy shrimp in their delicious broth. I enjoy their aesthetic and presentation of dishes. It all really hits the spot. The friendly service is a bonus as well. I'm a Yoodon fan!

All the food was delicious but what made my night was the spice level. The waitress warned me when I was ordering the food, that spicy meant very spicy. Ordered two dishes which my friend and I shared. A combo ramen (you get to pick from not spicy to medium to spicy - we picked not spicy (which was not plain, still had a very slight bite). It combined all the ingredients offered for ramen (seafood, chicken, beef & veggies). The soup was flavorful and the ramen was the squiggly variety. The size of the bowl was decent. Out other order was a bulgogi Kim so. It was also tasty and a nice quantity. Each were $13. There was a one woman who managed the front - she was order taker, server and cashier. They played contemporary Christian music in the background. I would give it 4.5 rating but will support the business as a fellow Christian.
Small mom and pop Korean restaurant in Bayside. Food was decent and very fairly priced. The house kimbap had a nice warm inside and crispy outside texture. The pork katsu was very good, as expected. The combination ramen was very spicy and sufficient. However the chopped pieces of beef mixed together with shrimp and tiny chicken breast didn't match too well IMO. My family still likes it here and we will be back again.

The Spicy Shrimp Tempura Kimbap ($12.95) is a unique offering, with a taste unlike any kimbap I've had. This one was saucier, more fusion, with spicy mayo drizzled generously over it. Pricey, but this was my favorite of our dishes. They had 2 types of cutlet bowls, salad or no salad. We got the one with salad, and I don't recommend it. It tasted very obviously unfresh and refrigerated. The Pork Cutlet ($14.95) was't anything special, quite thin, although it was very crispy. I wouldn't get this dish again. On a cold day, the Shrimp Tempura Udon ($14.95) or any of their udons simply just call to you. Their broth was full of savory goodness, bound to warm you up. Their udon falls short though, tasting very frozen food stored brought. The lady let us stay for a while, which I appreciate. Yoodon is far for similar food you can find closer to the central area, albeit a great quick eats option for people living in the neighborhood.

Yoodon has been on my radar for sometime. I'm glad I finally had a chance to check out this spot. We ordered the Chicken Cutlet burger and Pork Cutlet. The chicken burger itself was fantastic. The bun is soft, the lettuce adds a great crunch, and the special dressing is absolutely delicious,creamy and tangy and it ties everything together perfectly. The pork cutlet was also cooked well, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. However, there's one thing that holds them back from a full 5 stars, that thing my friends is the lack of seasoning on the meat itself. Both the chicken and the pork cutlets were underseasoned and a bit bland. The saving grace is the fantastic sauces and dressings which completely save the dish. These sauces are incredible! So, while I wish the meat was seasoned more during preparation, the overall proteins were still very enjoyable. The restaurant has only 7 small tables. We went to Yoodon, and I have to say, I love this place. I'm always coming back. The menu is small, which makes it easy to know exactly what I want before I even walk in. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, but that's part of the charm. It feels cozy and welcoming. It really gives off the vibe of being a family-owned spot. I got the pork katsu, and it was perfectly fried, crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and really filling. We also had the fish cutlet sandwich, which was soft, flaky, and just so satisfying. The Yoodon cheeseburger was another winner, so good that we finished it way too fast. The lady who's usually at the register is always so nice, and she's is the one manning the floor, which adds to that homey feel. Water is self-serve, which keeps things simple. It's one of those spots that feels like a hidden gem. You can taste the care that goes into the food, and it's definitely a place I'll keep coming back to. read more

A cozy neighborhood spot, but overall I wasn't very impressed. I ordered the Yoodon kimbap and, visually, it looked great and was a generous size. Unfortunately, it ate pretty dry and ended up feeling like a lot of the same flavors and textures throughout. I did really enjoy the soup that came with it, though that was actually one of my favorite parts of the meal. My husband ordered the pork cutlet meal, which was good. Nothing particularly memorable, but it was well-cooked and satisfying. He asked if he could do one pork cutlet and one chicken cutlet instead of two of the same, but they said they don't allow mixing and matching. I honestly didn't understand that decision, especially since both options were the same price and there was only one other customer in the restaurant at the time. You'd think a small neighborhood spot would be more willing to accommodate simple requests, but I guess not. read more

It is a small Korean-family-ran restaurant with 5 tables inside. The price is reasonable and food is yummy. The Yoodon kimbap is fried veggie roll that I never saw at other places. Pork cutlet set is solid and good for the portion. Pork piece is crispy. Perfect for quick lunch or dinner. read more

Went in for a quick lunch. One of the best tasting and enjoyable meals Ive had in a while. I had the shrimp tempura and bulgogi kimbap and donkatsu was so crunchy and perfect. lots of free street parking around the area. read more

I come here every time I'm having an off day, sick or just in the mood for some home cooked food. The owners are husband and wife. Do not be thrown off that it's not your typical fancy place inside. The food is amazinggggg and they are sooo nice. I love it here! read more

A small mom and pop shop that sells great food at a reasonable price! My partner and I got a Yoodon cheeseburger, a shrimp tempura kimbap, and a bulgolgi kimbap. The patty in the burger is charred and juicy and the bulgolgi was flavorful. The spicy mayo on the shrimp tempura is a little too spicy for me, but most people would think it has a nice kick. Each customer is given a warm bowl of miso soup. It should be noted that it's a very small restaurant, so there is no bathroom. read more

Everything is delicious. The man makes his own broth and it is soooooo goooood.!!! The wife had the chicken sandwich. It comes with fries and a salad. I had my usual ramen with chicken. Spice level 3. YOU WILL NOT FIND A BETTER CHICKEN SANDWICH OR RAMEN ANYWHERE!!! JUST ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. Btw, they close on Sundays. read more

Great little new spot located on Northern Blvd 2 blocks east of Bell Blvd. Small family run business.The owner is very nice and friendly. For a small place they have a decent but limited menu. This was our 2nd visit and it did not disappoint. I thoroughly enjoyed the double cheeseburger I ordered. It came with a mountain of french fries that were cooked perfectky. During my first visit I ordered the chicken cutlet over rice. Each dish comes w/ a house salad. My wife loved her fish filet over rice and my son enjoyed his chicken ramen. My daughter order some kind of stir fried noodle dishbwhich she was a little disappointed with. I would definitely recommnd this little hole in the wall next door to the new dessert place Waffle & Sips. read more

We ordered takeout after seeing the great reviews. The restaurant was small and clean with a few seats - it mainly felt like a takeout restaurant. The food tasted like good homemade food. We ordered a Yoondon Kimbap, Chicken Stir-Fry Noodle, and Pork Cutlet Bowl. All the dishes included a soup, which was a little sweet - I've never had any soup like it before! Yoodon Kimbap: Special because of the crunchy exterior from being deep-fried, otherwise it tasted like your typical kimbap from the grocery store. It came with a tangy sauce. Chicken Stir-Fry Noodle (Not Spicy): A little bland for our taste - the main flavor was white pepper powder. The noodles were also a little overcooked - it may have been from the takeout container sealing the steam in. Pork Cutlet Bowl: Our favorite dish! The curry was tangy, and we liked the different elements of the dish. Unfortunately, the pork cutlet wasn't crispy by the time we ate it since we ordered takeout. read more
Very small Korean shop with lots of delicious choices to choose from. This was my first time eating here but my little cousin is a regular because the food is really good and consistently at that. We got the fried kimbap, pork and chicken cutlet and the spicy beef udon! The spicy is HOT! It's a good spicy and not for those who can't take heat. Service was good too. Overall we'll be coming back and def recommend giving a try. read more
Cute small place thats very "homey" feeling. The prices are good for what you get. This was the first time I got pork cutlet fried kimbap and it was pretty good. My friend got udon and she said it tasted like udon from costco which isnt bad but its restaurant style per say...unless costco udon is that high tier. Came here on a cold rainy Thursday for lunch. Looks like a mom and pop restaurant that seats a total of 13 comfortably. We ordered the Combo Ramen and the Yoodon Kimbap. The Combo Ramen (medium spicy) wasn't that spicy, but good enough for me. It definitely hit the spot on this rainy day. The Yoodon Kimbap is a kimbap that is wrapped in a thin sliced pork cutlet topped with a sauce that they made. This combination worked really well and the soup that it came with paired perfectly with it. I hope to visit again and try their other dishes. read more

I visited this cozy restaurant August 2022 on a Thursday night. We ordered the spicy chicken cutlet sandwich, the shrimp tempura kimbap and the pork cutlet set. It was way too much food for two people but it was delicious. Would definitely recommend! read more

Small shop with comfortable seating. The owner(?) was friendly and hospitable. The dishes are affordable and portions are great. Definitely a great lunch or dinner spot and an amazing spot for the neighborhood. Had the seafood ramen that was filled with oysters, shrimp and squid. soup was delicious. Before I go on with this review, I just wanted to let you guys know that they have 3 levels of spicy. None, medium, and spicy. The medium spicy already had me dripping with sweat but has really good flavor which means that the spicy option might just make your mouth go numb. So I ordered 3 Shrimp Tempura, Yoodon Kimbap, Spicy Shrimp Tempura Kimbap, and the Combo Stir Fry medium spicy. The Shrimp Tempura($2.95 each) is panko breaded. Gives it that extra crunch and the shrimp was good. The Yoodon Kimbap($11.95) is deep fried and cut up. Couldn't really tell what was in it but it was pretty good. I think it had cucumber and another kind of vegetable? The Spicy Shrimp Tempura Kimbap($12.95) is wrapped up in seaweed and rice. What makes it spicy is the sauce you dip it in. Both Kimbaps come with soup in which I only received one because I was eating solo which makes sense. The Combo Stir Fry($17.95) is what you get if you cannot make up your mind on what meat to get from chicken, beef, or shrimp so get this and you will get the best of all three options. I got this medium spicy and it almost kicked my butt. This dish is so good I did not mind sweating it out to finish it. That tells me that their spicy version will probably melt your face off if you are into that kind of spiciness. Service was great. It's a family owned operation judging from the nice lady that takes your order to the chef in the back. I'm thinking they are a couple based on how they interacted with each other. In closing, everything I had was awesome and I will try to hit this place up again before I leave New York (am in town for work). They are open monday through saturday from 11 am to 9 pm. Cute little restaurant, almost looks like someone's kitchen! Food came out relatively fast. Portion sizes are big! Chicken katsu was 15$ absolutely worth the price because they gave you sooo much chicken. All the meals came with soup! We ordered medium spicy for the udon and it was pretty spicy! They don't serve beer but they didn't mind if you brought your own! read more

Cozy family owned restaurant with Christian music playing in the background. We were the only patrons in the restaurant and the employees were very hospitable. The employees also cooked themselves dinner off the menu, which was pretty cool to see I guess. The food was decent. The nice aspect of Yoodon is the free salad bar/veggies by the counter. I'm not a huge fan of kimbap in general but the Yoodon kimbap is pretty good. The pork cutlet was crunchy and not burnt, but the protein inside was minimal despite it looking plentiful. Good job on the presentation, I guess? Utilizing surface area to make your eyes feel fuller. The pork cutlet plate has essentially all of the ingredients and flavors as the yoodon kimbap sans the seaweed. The burger was tasty but very basic. The fries are fluffy and not crispy. It's the same level as fries you'd find in a run of the mill food cart or in the freezer section of a grocery. Average food but good service bumps it to a 3.5/5. If the service weren't as good, I likely would just rate this a 2.5. read more
