Definitely the place to go if you are in the neighborhood. Mom and Pop, Korean comfort food made right. Note that spicy definitely means spicy. Tried the crab kimbap which was a nice sized roll. It comes with a bowl of soup and a side salad. A nice spicy kick to it, which wasn't too spicy for me. I took it home and added srirachia mayo as a dipping sauce which made it even tastier. Decor: a small place with a few tables, some for 2 people or more. The place is a bit on the plain side, but you are here for the great food! Service: friendly and helpful. Food came out quickly. Yoodon has been on my radar for sometime. I'm glad I finally had a chance to check out this spot. We ordered the Chicken Cutlet burger and Pork Cutlet. The chicken burger itself was fantastic. The bun is soft, the lettuce adds a great crunch, and the special dressing is absolutely delicious,creamy and tangy and it ties everything together perfectly. The pork cutlet was also cooked well, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. However, there's one thing that holds them back from a full 5 stars, that thing my friends is the lack of seasoning on the meat itself. Both the chicken and the pork cutlets were underseasoned and a bit bland. The saving grace is the fantastic sauces and dressings which completely save the dish. These sauces are incredible! So, while I wish the meat was seasoned more during preparation, the overall proteins were still very enjoyable. The restaurant has only 7 small tables. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, but that's part of the charm. It feels cozy and welcoming. It really gives off the vibe of being a family-owned spot. We love getting yoodon for takeout. They have really delicious cheeseburgers, chicken burgers, and kimbaps. Our favorite is the yoodon kimbap which is deep fried. The fries that come with the burgers are also usually crispy and fresh. The soup that comes with them too are surprisingly delicious. The only reason they lose a star is they are sometimes inconsistent with quality. Once in a while the fries will come stale or the burgers will be slimmer than usual. It doesn't happen often but it's happened maybe 3x or so now but again we do order from them a lot- so most times they are on point. read more

Along Northern Blvd there is no lack of Korean comfort food spots, but despite the multitudes Yoodon is a standout with their delicious food, large portions and friendly mom & pop vibe. Their neatly organized and straight forward menu lays out the options - sandwiches, kimbap, ramen, stir-fry, cutlet and of course their homonym namesake udon. The sandwiches are served on a large slab of round wood with a massive mound of fries and salad. The buns are fluffy brioche ones and whatever option you choose you will be happy with and walk out feeling full. You may find slightly less expensive kimbap options around the area, but none come close to the size and deliciousness of what they are packing here. The rolls are huge and filling - some even have extra topping on the side that you can add to your bites. The udon is probably what I get most often with shrimp tempura being a fav - I love dipping the large crunchy shrimp in their delicious broth. I enjoy their aesthetic and presentation of dishes. Ordered two dishes which my friend and I shared. A combo ramen (you get to pick from not spicy to medium to spicy - we picked not spicy (which was not plain, still had a very slight bite). It combined all the ingredients offered for ramen (seafood, chicken, beef & veggies). The soup was flavorful and the ramen was the squiggly variety. The size of the bowl was decent. A small mom and pop shop that sells great food at a reasonable price! My partner and I got a Yoodon cheeseburger, a shrimp tempura kimbap, and a bulgolgi kimbap. The patty in the burger is charred and juicy and the bulgolgi was flavorful. The spicy mayo on the shrimp tempura is a little too spicy for me, but most people would think it has a nice kick. The Spicy Shrimp Tempura Kimbap ($12.95) is a unique offering, with a taste unlike any kimbap I've had. This one was saucier, more fusion, with spicy mayo drizzled generously over it. Pricey, but this was my favorite of our dishes. They had 2 types of cutlet bowls, salad or no salad. We got the one with salad, and I don't recommend it. It tasted very obviously unfresh and refrigerated. The Pork Cutlet ($14.95) was't anything special, quite thin, although it was very crispy. I wouldn't get this dish again. On a cold day, the Shrimp Tempura Udon ($14.95) or any of their udons simply just call to you. Their broth was full of savory goodness, bound to warm you up. Their udon falls short though, tasting very frozen food stored brought. The lady let us stay for a while, which I appreciate. We ordered a Yoondon Kimbap, Chicken Stir-Fry Noodle, and Pork Cutlet Bowl. All the dishes included a soup, which was a little sweet - I've never had any soup like it before! Yoodon Kimbap: Special because of the crunchy exterior from being deep-fried, otherwise it tasted like your typical kimbap from the grocery store. It came with a tangy sauce. Chicken Stir-Fry Noodle (Not Spicy): A little bland for our taste - the main flavor was white pepper powder. The noodles were also a little overcooked - it may have been from the takeout container sealing the steam in. Pork Cutlet Bowl: Our favorite dish! Before I go on with this review, I just wanted to let you guys know that they have 3 levels of spicy. None, medium, and spicy. The medium spicy already had me dripping with sweat but has really good flavor which means that the spicy option might just make your mouth go numb. So I ordered 3 Shrimp Tempura, Yoodon Kimbap, Spicy Shrimp Tempura Kimbap, and the Combo Stir Fry medium spicy. The Shrimp Tempura($2.95 each) is panko breaded. Gives it that extra crunch and the shrimp was good. The Yoodon Kimbap($11.95) is deep fried and cut up. Couldn't really tell what was in it but it was pretty good. I think it had cucumber and another kind of vegetable? The Spicy Shrimp Tempura Kimbap($12.95) is wrapped up in seaweed and rice. What makes it spicy is the sauce you dip it in. Both Kimbaps come with soup in which I only received one because I was eating solo which makes sense. The Combo Stir Fry($17.95) is what you get if you cannot make up your mind on what meat to get from chicken, beef, or shrimp so get this and you will get the best of all three options. I got this medium spicy and it almost kicked my butt. This dish is so good I did not mind sweating it out to finish it. That tells me that their spicy version will probably melt your face off if you are into that kind of spiciness. Service was great. It's a family owned operation judging from the nice lady that takes your order to the chef in the back. I'm thinking they are a couple based on how they interacted with each other. In closing, everything I had was awesome and I will try to hit this place up again before I leave New York (am in town for work). They are open monday through saturday from 11 am to 9 pm.
