Coming on a weekend, I thought it would be busier but it thankfully wasn't considering that I had my children with me. I love how they have their own little parking lot. It saves us a lot of time. The food was decent but nothing really stood out to me except for the kimchi pancake. My donkatsu felt very dry despite dipping in their sauce. I prefer the one from Kisa in Manhattan. The portion was pretty big. The menu was a bit extensive so it took my group and I more time than expected to decide on what to order. The staff was nice but they were not as attentive as expected. This place cuts corners on everything now and is a shadow of the value that it used to provide years ago. The LA galbi barely offers much meat and looked pale and microwaved, not caramelized and grilled. The radish kimchi is not seasoned like it was before, and reduced to just salty radish. The dolsot bibimbap has tiny crumbles of meat (rather than strips) and wet vegetables that combine into a doughy slop bowl. Tang used to provide bowls of cut green onion to spoon as you please into the sulongtang - now the broth comes with a few pieces and you cannot customize to your liking. I used to bring guests here because Tang has its own parking lot and the cleanest vibe, but the nickel and diming by management is a turnoff. read more

But I think this also prevents the restaurant from working on signature dishes. Their Dolsot Bibimbap, Korean Fried Chicken, and Dak Kalgooksu were disappointing. There wasn't much depth of flavor in all of these three dishes. The Kalgooksu noodles were not fresh and overcooked, and the broth was somewhat bland. A pretty casual Korean restaurant in Northern Boulevard in Queens. Pretty spacious restaurant even though the tables are close together to maximize seating. Greeted and seated right away on a Sunday evening. They had a basketball game playing on the TVs. The waitress gave us some menus but they were all different so it was pretty confusing at first. The menu is pretty extensive, ranging from soups, platters, fried chicken, etc. I recommend selecting one of their combos for best value. I ordered the fish combo set (select between grilled mackerel, croaker, or branzino and a select variety of soups or bibimbap). I got the grilled croaker and kimchi jigae for $25. The soup was a big bowl portion and the croaker was big and nicely grilled. I really enjoyed the croaker. The kimchi jigae was also pretty good, but I would say I like BCD's better. The rest of the group also ordered 18 pieces of mixed Korean fried chicken, a Seolleong tang, and a Bokkeum Combo Set (Ojingeo Bokkeum with spicy blue crab soft tofu soup). The fried chicken was pretty good. The seolleong tang is pretty mild in flavor -- feels like a comfort/hangover food. The squid bokkeum was really good and had great flavor. We also got complimentary salad and kimchi for the table to start shortly after ordering. A few details worth mentioning: - There are plexiglass dividers on some tables, post Covid. - There is a parking lot which can fit about 10 cars so that's a plus. - The Women's bathroom was small and dark. The two stalls were weirdly shaped, one being curved so the stall was super tight (and I'm a tiny person, so I don't know how anyone bigger would fit comfortably). My family of 8 arrived around 3:30pm on a Sunday. We ordered a variety of items including the Crispy Chicken Wings, Cold Noodles, Seafood udon noodle soup, spicy squid clay pot, pork ramen, and a pancake appetizer. My favorite was the squid clay pot which was fresh, tasty, and sizzling hot. The seafood udon and the crispy chicken wings were also good and hit the spot. My entire family (Korean) so we know what this should be like...was just astounded that this could even be served at a whopping price of $33? Tang has been the one constant in my life since high school so I have nothing but love for this restaurant. First off, Tang never makes me choose between my lovers. Their menu has added a variety of other Asian cuisines like Chinese specials and Thai favorites in addition to more single selection of Korean items. They still have their specials that offer combo deals for 2, 3, or 4 people. The only banchan offered are two items - a salad and kimchi. We ordered the special for two. There are four choices of 2-item appetizers to pick from and then a selection of tofu stews and bibimbap and other items where you pick two dishes for a total of four items. We had a beef rib and kimchi stew, Korean fried chicken, bibimbap on stone bowl, and mushroom tofu stew. The 4-item special included a drink choice of beer, soda or soju for $72. You also are served a pot of tea to start. Food still taste good overall. The chicken wings had a good crunch. There is enough food for two to share.
