Chilly weather calls for a hot bowl of soup! I have to say Korean cuisine is my fave and soup is always a top choice as my go to. I opt for the beef and intestine soup, clear broth packed with flavor and a nice kick! Others ordered bibimbap, beef bone soup, and tofu soup which they all had good comments about, too. This spot has cozy vibes. I couldn't resist checking out their colorful wall mural upon entering. The little details include cute animals highlighting delightful hotpot feels. Another place checked off my bookmark and will be back to try the hot pot and combo meals.

Burnt overcooked steamed egg. Not complimentary

The steamed egg was overcooked, burnt, dry, and lacking in any flavor. Surprised they thought it was ok to serve it to customers. It was also not complimentary as the other reviews suggest. I had to order it separately. The other food was okay but nothing spectacular to rave about. Service was extremely slow, with only two waiters working at dinner time. Won't be coming back.

Tried the premium beef head soup, beef tripe and intestine soup, octopus and pork, premium beef short rip; and chicken soup. Highly recommend the soups!

Traditional Korean food with ingredient combos and innovative sauces to take it to another level using very fresh ingredients, with friendly very accommodating staff moving our dining experience along in one of the coolest dining space, loved the artwork! A definite recommend and return with people I love to try more of the menu!

Solid Korean restaurant on Northern Boulevard! The decor is a little quirky because it seems like they left some of the motifs of the previous tenants. Otherwise good food and great for groups and kids! Their jigaes and bibimbaps are solid choices. Good spread of banchan too. Would recommend!

Perfect spot for a warm, comforting meal! JINSANG GUKBAP is known for their gukbap, and it definitely lives up to the hype. On a chilly day, nothing hits better than a bowl of their rich, flavorful soups. Highly recommend the galbi tang and the spicy beef soup with vegetables--hearty, satisfying, and full of flavor. It's also the ultimate hangover spot after a night out. Service is friendly and attentive, which makes the experience even better. Definitely coming back!

Had a terrific lunch with friends a few weeks ago. Come for their beef head soup, short rib soup, and bibimbap cooked in stone bowls. We arrived at noon on a Friday, a party of 5 without reservations and were seated immediately. Ample seating inside for about 40ish people at tables set up for 4-6. There were a couple of younger staff who seemed more welcoming and attentive than the older staff.* they asked if it was our first time here and if we had questions. They were also happy to give recommendations. We ordered: - 해물 파전 Seafood Korean Pancake $25.95: this haemul pajeon was made well, pretty standard serving size and amount of seafood. - 진상 소머리 국밥 Beef Head Rice Soup regular $17.95 and premium $20.95 x2: the difference between regular and premium seemed to be the amount of meat, and the bowl size was slightly larger for premium. For both, there is also a $2 surcharge for dinner over the lunch prices. The beef broth is served with generous slices of meat, even for the regular version. You are also given a bowl of rice separately to eat with the soup. My initial reaction when the bowls were brought over was that they were bubbling hot and steaming, they smelled a bit "beefy" and very slightly gamey to me, but when I tasted the flavor of the soup it was delicious and they definitely cooked the broth at least overnight to get this level of flavor. Super tasty eaten with rice and hit the spot in a freezing cold day. The definition of a Korean comfort food. - 진상 갈비탕 Beef Short Rib Soup $25.95: similarly served hot, it came with the entire rib bone, quite a sizeable chunk of meat as well. Also served with rice on the side. - 제육 돌솥 비빔밥 Spicy Pork Hot Stone Bibimbap $17.95: served in a hot stone bowl. My friend enjoyed this. - a handful of small banchan came complimentary, mostly diff types of kimchi, they also brought out two steamed eggs on the house which was a thoughtful gesture (especially since most Korean restaurants make you pay for these nowadays). As some other reviews have pointed out, parking can be kinda tough considering it's on a section of Northern Blvd with other businesses and residential immediately behind, so there's no dedicated parking lot, only street parking. It's reachable by LIRR several blocks away from the Bayside station, or by bus too. Worth mentioning they have cool custom mural covering an entire wall depicting multiple characters eating Korean food, love the incorporation of local art! (Apparently left from the prior restaurant which was a witch-themed toppokki spot.) *I feel like this is generally the case in Asian restaurants where younger staff are a bit more comfortable with communication and more aware of the need for customer service.

Jinsang Gukbap is the go-to spot to satisfy Korean cravings these days. The space is spacious and comfortable, making it a great place to dine in. Staff is friendly, attentive, and very quick with serving dishes. The food comes out hot and fresh, and the flavors are on point across the board. Overall, a smooth and enjoyable dining experience. Would definitely come back again. Street parking available.

Guk 진상(특)소머리국밥 Premium beef head broth

Ordered to go on a cold winter day. Was satisfying but doesn't quite hit compared to if it was a rolling boil in a clay pot at the restaurant. The flavor was nice and clean but wish there was more protein and glass noodles. The banchans were also okay - best one was the spicy fish cakes. Would love to give this spot another try to dine in next time.

I had the spicy beef soup with vegetables. It was perfect for a cold day. The bonchon that came with it was all delicious as well. We also had the seafood pancake. Service was excellent and I will come back to try more.

I tried a new eatery today is Baysids Queens, Jinsang Gukbap off 209 street & Northern. Gukbap in Korean means a dish consist of soup & rice. This place specialized in various spicy beef soups. If you are looking for Selungtang the white bone broth, this is not the place. I got the Ox Blood soup. It's spicy chili peppers based with cabbage beansprouts and various beef parts like Tripes and of course, ox Blood. The soup hit the spot! The place is spacious with a hip wall mural. This place open early for soupy breakfast and hangover soup and close late for the drinking crowd. Enjoy!

They have really good boiled pork belly and jokbal- pig trotter. We ordered the grilled kalbi steak but it was a bit chewy. Kalbi beef soup was spot on and the seafood pancake was nice and crispy.

Overall: I had a wonderful time here and was introduced to some fascinating foods, like oxblood soup. If you're a timid person who wants to experience some adventurous ingredients wrapped in a comforting dish, this is a great place to try out new things. By dish: Beef gukbap (pictured). Very good! Hearty yet clean taste. Obviously the main draw, and the go-to for the less adventurous people like myself. There's a version with beef head instead, but if that makes you squeamish, don't worry- it's all soft, melt-in-your-mouth slices of meat. Still, if you're not a fan of fatty/collagen tastes, go for the regular beef. I assure you that there isn't too much of a difference, aside from the broth being clearer. Muscle forms the clearest broth, followed by collagen-rich meat, and finally bone. Oxblood soup (unpictured): Also good! The blood was cooked into a tofu-like consistency. If you're worried about it tasting too iron-like, don't. It's got a mild taste which pales in comparison to the bold, spicy flavors. Banchan and seafood pancake: banchan was good. Kimchi was decent quality, nuts and anchovies were good. Didn't try the other. As for the seafood pancake, it was crispy and packed with different seafoods. If you're bringing a family, I'd recommend this as an appetizer. Bibimbap: Also quite good, decent, balanced flavors. Service: Excellent. Didn't pay attention to ambiance, but the table was set up like the average Korean restaurant.

They are consistently coming around to check on us and give us any refills whether on the kimchi or our waters. They are also really fast and wait time was minimal for both our table and the food. The place is cozy and looks well-structured. I also love that every table comes equipped with condiments and utensils you may need, as well as a call button for staff to come around your table. Hearing the 'ding' is always really nice. The actual food itself truly tastes like home. Everything is so comforting and you can never get sick of food like this. The portions are also huge so bring an empty stomach or a big group. We always manage to have leftovers whenever we come here. I absolutely love the pajuns, and always find myself gravitating towards the seafood pancakes, and they do not skimp out on the seafood either. The mandus are extremely filling, and the meat inside is nice and juicy. The noodles itself are honestly so refreshing and hits the spot every time. I've heard people debate on whether kalguksu or sujebi was better, but this place makes it hard to decide every time-they're both just so good. I honestly highly recommend this spot whether you're going with friends, family, or even on a date. Just remember to bring your appetite and don't make the mistake I made in the beginning, going on a Sunday, they're usually closed.

There's 2 waitresses and one busser, but I felt only one of the waitress was pulling the weight, while the other (maybe she's the owner?) mostly chatted with one of the table customers. I felt bad for our waitress she was so busy with fulfilling takeouts + dine ins and the dishes require a lot of servicing table side. She couldn't catch 1 second of break :( Food wise, we got their 2 person combo of spicy pork gamja tang and spicy rice cake which came with the steamed egg. Everything was so good, egg was extra fluffy, rice cake was delicious and the meat came right off the bones. They take a good variety of side dishes. My partner wasn't a fan of the gamja tang but due to feeling it's a hassle to eat meat with bones, so those who fee sim may agree. We also asked for the fried rice after we finished the gamja tang, for 2 servings I think it was $4.75 or something. I really enjoyed it but I guess I like scorched rice, also something my partner doesn't enjoy so those we feel sim just note. Environment feels very old school, well worn. Feels cozy. It can get loud very quickly on a Saturday night as this place seems to be a hit for large parties. Since the wait staff is short handed, expect a bit of a wait for things. Don't come if you're in a rush.

Geo Si Gi is highly known for their signature gamjatang (spicy pork bone soup). Ordered the Gamjatang & Grilled Mackerel Set - $52.95 (for 2) The gamjatang is perfectly spiced - bold and warming without overwhelming heat (and trust me, my spice tolerance is low!). Instead of the usual red kimchi, they load it with long strips of green napa cabbage, cut right before your eyes before serving. Some bean sprouts, watercress on top, with tender potatoes, chewy rice cakes, and massive pork bones that fall right off - so meaty and flavorful. Served with a side of sweet mustard sauce. Pure comfort on a cold day. The grilled mackerel was enormous and incredibly plump - way bigger than expected! As an oily fish, it's rich and satisfying, but we barely made it through a third. If you're a mackerel fan like me, it's a must-order. . Banchan were simple and homey: nothing flashy, just solid classics. Bonus: it comes with fluffy steamed egg (jjim) that rounds out the meal perfectly. I can eat an entire bowl of rice with just the steamed egg . This set was massive for two - we left with about 1/4 of the soup and 2/3 of the fish! Pro tip: Save some broth and ask them to make fried rice with it at the end. Game-changer. . Highly recommend for hearty, soul-warming Korean food in Flushing!
