Spicy nangmyeon, steamed egg and banchan
Faye Y.

Food first, thoughts after... Overall this was a good choice for dinner. The service was amazing. They were very tentative to our need. Banchan was delicious and the meat was fresh. The Ajumma who cooked all our things was so friendly and funny. She also noticed I kept eating a particular banchan and got more for me without asking. Interior was spacious and lots of seating.

It's a good Korean BBQ spot with a fun ambiance and attentive staff. We shared the Galbi, pork belly and ribeye. The one downside is there is barely any banchan.

Been anticipating this spot to open as it's been in construction for a while. We got the Combo A 1 and it's worth. Enough to feed 2 with stew and steamed egg, and plenty of sides to eat the meat with. The beef is too quality. They know how to cook it, hot hot pan, quick sear, and that's it. Perfection. And that's how it should. Nothing was dry, nice and fatty and juicy. And the service is top notch. Everyone's so nice. One of the best hospitality I've experienced in a while. Constant refills, did all the cooking, and more and more kimchi. This place is pretty bomb and will come back again. Especially for their alcohol combo sets.

Our second time there. Another fantastic meal. Meat was fresh, we also ordered the beef tartar. It came out frozen. Not sure if that is the way it's supposed to served but it was very delicious. We did lethalf of it thaw out. Service was great as usual. The server cooked everything for us perfectly. Definitely great addition to all other kbbq in Flushing.

5 Stars across the board! Best kimchi I've ever had hands down. I was blown away by the quality of the meat. We had a pork combo and beef combo, came with small but satisfying portions of soups on the side. Have I mentioned best kimchi I've ever had? Which is crazy, because I've had kimchi god knows how many times from god knows how many Korean restaurants for the past 2 decades. Service was also phenomenal! All the servers were so kind, attentive and friendly. Great music, chill atmosphere- I mean, need I say more?? This new spot is officially OUR new spot and I 100% recommend! Thank you for everything!

I will preface this review by saying that I was a huge fan of Jeong Yook and was devastated when I closed. My husband and I were cautiously optimistic to hear that Golden Pig was opening in its place and were eager to check it out. We finally made it there for dinner and were immediately struck with how bright and spacious it felt, and we were greeted very warmly by the staff. I like that they upgraded the seating/tables and now have chairs with storage for your coats and bags. It made the experience very comfortable. Like many restaurants in the area, Golden Pig has tablets at each table for ordering, but the servers still interact with you and will ask and answer questions. They also grill all of the meat and swap out the grills in between meat selections, which certain places don't. That being said, they provide very limited banchans (only kimchi, fish cake with bell peppers, pickled jalapeños and onions, and seasoned scallions mixed with bean sprouts). No complimentary egg jjim, cheese corn, etc. You have to pay for those individually. They will bring you Ssam and will also provide raw garlic and jalapeños upon request. In terms of the meat, the pork belly was decent, but the marinade galbi was very thin and the portion seems small (it's not the larger slab of galbi that many other places serve--more like thin, boneless LA galbi). The ribeye was chewy and had quite a bit of gristle. The beef cuts are listed as being wagyu, but having experienced my fair share of wagyu in my life (Japanese A5 and American, as well as high-end Korean hanwoo beef), the beef at Golden Pig is not wagyu. At least not what we ordered à la carte. I would like to see this place improve and succeed, because it has potential, and I think the staff members are all really great. I would love to see better cuts of meat and more of a banchan spread though.

Every time we go to a Korean Bbq place we think that's it.. we've found the best.. but this place was really great. Good food, excellent service.. our waiter was great... We got the beef set for 3 even though it was just the 2 of us. I was so full. I'm not a huge fan of kimchi but it seriously was the best we have ever had. It tasted really fresh, not too strong..the sides are pretty good too. L loved the salad. We also tried their soju drinks in every flavor except the yogurt one since it wasn't available at the time. It was surprisingly strong and I have drank a ton of soju years ago.. The stew was great with rice. Loved the steam egg as well. Refills were quick. But seriously our server was the best. We've been to almost all the expensive Korean bbq spots in the city...most places continue to cook the meat even if you're not done eating with one meat.. and some places just let it sit in the bowl and the meat just gets cold. Our server let us eat and then continued cooking .. but the cooked meat sits just above the heat so it stayed warm but didn't get overcooked. Just really thoughtful, this restaurant although not cheap ..gave us a great experience. . He explained which meats everything were, even asked which ones we wanted first. The meat was really good quality, not as soft as the Wagyu we had in the city but still pretty good.. We also ordered a seafood pancake just to try when it wasn't necessary since we had so much food. We only tried a piece but took the rest home. A good amount of seafood, lil too dense. Again pricier than places around the area but better quality meat. We really enjoyed everything here. I would definitely come back...

This place have a very nice casual and fun ambiance. The staffs were all very nice and attentive. They grilled the meat for us but it doesn't feel rushed compared to some BBQ places I've been to. The meat were very tender and fresh. This set came with steam egg and a choice of a stew with the meat and rice and vege sides so it was satisfying for 2 people as they advertised. I do think the soybean stew can have a little more flavor but the main character is the beef so I didn't mind. There seems to have a lot of other combos with alcohol options so def want to come back to try those. They were doing the gold bar promo if you put a review for first 1k customers, which is very fun~ better come earlier to try your luck too.

One of the best KBBQ I had, pork was grilled perfectly. Side dishes were well portioned. Service was the best thing out of this place. If you can ask for Derek he made the experience so much better! If you are tired of AYCE and looking for a higher tier on meat on a grill this is the best place. Also the best thing with KBBQ is a Terra on the side and they do offer it so definitely recommend it!

Pork belly and pork shoulder.

We had 88$ combo. They gave us 1 slice of pork belly! 1 slice! And 1 piece of pork shoulder, it was too tough to eat. Brisket was good and short cut ribs was amazing but it wasn't enough for both of us. Server was horrible! No smile, no small talk, and wasn't friendly at all! Not impressed!! And not coming back!!

I really enjoyed the hamjungsal omg so delicious!! Their food was all very tasty and their service was amazing!! All so nice and pleasant. The place is very new and clean. I will definitely be back!

The effortless tranquility encourages you to slow down, enjoy the food, and get away from the everyday, hubbub. Their menu leans into fusion dishes with a nod to some of the classic home-style classics. Everything is presented with a refined, elevated touch. Here's what we ordered: ~ Tako Wasabi - 5/5 stars A fiery delight. This appetizer feartures chopped raw octopus marinated in wasabi. It has a lively zest from the wasabi and is topped with tobiko, which adds a pleasant contrast in texture. ~ Honey Makgeolli - 4/5 stars A traditional fermented Korean beverage that is light and pairs brilliantly with your meal. It is a cloudy alcholoic drink served in a metal teapot, and surprisingly, there is much more in that teapot than you would expect. It easily provides six to eight generous pours. The flavor is subtly sweet with a pleasant tang. ~ Temaki Set - 4/5 stars You can order a set of three by choosing from selections 1-17, or you can order a la carte at the listed prices. Some of the temaki stood out more than others. Our two sets included marinated salmon, bluefin tuna, spicy yellowtail, spicy bluefin, and two dynamite temaki. ~ Spicky Pork Ssam Set - 5/5 stars Truly another standout entree that even surpassed my beloved grilled BBQ bossam. You received a generous basket of assorte greens, including romaine, kale, perilla leaves, dandelion leaves, nappa cabbage, and more. It is well worth the price and makes for a fun, interactive dining experience with your family and friends. There is also various banchan offered and this time, they were beyond kind enough to offer refills. The last time we were here, we ordered just as much food and they stated they normally did not offer refills, which I thought was very odd. With its casual bougie aesthetics, this spot has quickly become one of my favorite eateries in Fort Lee-lee, It beautifully blends Korean, Japanese, and American flavors in a way that feels both comforting and elevated. Needless to say, we will be back!

When we pulled up to the restaurant, we were informed there were a few levels. We went to the second floor and they were happy to accommodate us. We were rolling 6 deep and the booth was enough for us, but barely. In our party, majority of us wanted meat with the exception of 2 people only wanting shrimp and something else. We got the large beef combination platter which comes with ribeye, thin skirt, brisket, marinated kalbi, and marinated chuck flap. Most people stuck with water, while a couple got ginger ale. I ordered the soju flight but I ended up not liking it so my cousins shared it. The meal comes with different veggies as well as your choice of soup. We got the spicy tofu and split it 6 ways. The spice lived up to its name, so I didn't eat very much. The best part was meat. Despite there being 6 of us, there was plenty to go around. I think you have the option to cook it yourself or have them cook it for you and we chose the latter. While I enjoyed it, I wish there was more space. Most of the space was taken up by the accompaniments that come with it (veggies, etc), so there was hardly any room to put anything else. It didn't help that none of our dishes were cleared once we finished them and that no rice is included. Aside from that, both the food and service were great.

What a nice kbbq experience!!…read more I rlly liked the shrimp & chive pancake bc it wasn't super heavy and not full of batter like other places. Manhattan, NY (Koreatown) - I love BCD and frequent the one in Fort Lee pretty regularly, but for…read moreyears have assiduously avoided this NYC location as it's always a madhouse every time I've come here for dinner with friends or co-workers, and because there are so many other great Korean options on this strip. But there's no denying that BCD has upped their soondubu game considerably in the last decade+ with a thicker, more deeply flavored broth, and now easily rivals my longtime favorite and gold standard, the OG So Kong Dong in Fort Lee. Then I stumbled into a hack that changed my view: lunch! I ducked in for a late lunch on a whim while walking by one day, and this turned out to be a much chiller hour, unhurried and no reservation needed. I was promptly seated, my order taken, and the banchan swiftly laid out. The banchan spread is solid across the board (the little fried fish does nothing for me, but seems to be a highlight for everyone else). I especially love the kimchi, near-perfect IMO, and the pickled cucumber. There's a modest lunch discount, which is a nice bonus for someone who likes to order aggressively. I usually get an oyster, seafood, or assorted soondubu (with a raw egg cracked in), danger spicy of course! Or go the C1 combo route with a galbi (marinated bbq beef short ribs) + smaller soondubu. It's an enormous amount of food, so I take most of the galbi home and feel no shame about it. The galbi, by the way, has also gotten noticeably better over the years - meatier, tender, and the flavor is on point. I've also enjoyed their bibimbap, bulgogi, jap chae, and seafood pancake. Finally, let's talk heat - this chili-head loooves fire! And BCD's danger level is one of the rare instances where the spice level actually meets my punishing tolerance for heat, not some pretense at "American spicy.," despite this being a chain. Their danger level actually means business and brings tears to my eyes, literally. It's still not my favorite place ambience wise, and dinner remains a contact sport I've mostly opted out of, as gone are the days that I can tolerate a culinary mosh pit, and any wait longer than 10 minutes (and only for a superlative place) will trigger an automatic ejection of my presence. But for lunch? Unexpectedly great. 4 stars for dinner, 5 for lunch.
