    Black cod, large beef package
    Amanda C.

Came here again yesterday. This time for lunch. Party of 4 and we ordered the large beef package, japchae and black cod. We were stuffed. Take the tiny elevator up in the old office building and you're immediately transported to a much classier restaurant than you'd expect. Service was great. This is one of the spots that cooks and serves you and our server was pleasant/ professional. Refills for banchan etc. came without asking. They let us know that their fluffy eggs etc were bottomless with our meal. Roughly $100/PP. Bring cash! They have a nice 10% cash discount.

A high end Korean bbq in the city that does the job of a) quality ingredients and high end service with traditional feel and taste, and b) elevated dining without the smokiness you can get at k bbq. Felt there was enough food and good variety. Was there for my daughter's birthday. I would recommend highly.

Came here for a celebration dinner and it did not disappoint! We ordered the small beef package and it was a good amount for 2 people. There were so many banchan and side dishes. They included a fluffy egg and kimchi stew for us. It's kind of hard to find, but once you find the building it's in, then you go up the elevator and you will find yourself in the restaurant. The tables were set up in little pods while someone was cooking the meat for you and refilling your drinks and side dishes. It definitely felt like a premium experience. The pacing of the meal was great too, nobody was rushing us so we were able to enjoy our food! The meat quality was beyond and definitely worth it. I would come here again and again!

A nice elevated KBBQ spot with full service, good quality meats, and great banchan! We got a small beef package to share, and it was actually enough food for 4 girls to share. There's free rice, stew, ssam, and steamed egg for the table so there's lots of other things to eat. The free ice cream at the end is also a great touch! The kimchi stew was a surprising favorite of mine. Service was great, and they refill things proactively so you don't even need to ask.

Celebrated a family member's birthday here and had a great time doing so! It's located on the third floor and there are two elevators available which probably only comfortably fit six people (max weight is 1500lb I believe). The servers are all so attentive with replenishing the side dishes, and our server/chef did a fantastic and efficient job grilling the barbecue for us. The machinery used is quite good at diffusing the smells from grilling so I didn't have the usual issue of coming home smelling like barbecue. The meats were all very nice quality and for a party of six, we left comfortably full after ordering the Nubiani set (which is only supposed to feed four), and two noodle dishes (japchae and spicy buckwheat). We also all received complimentary ice cream. An awesome thing is you get 10% off your order if you pay in cash (and there's an atm near the entrance).

Worth all the rave! My friend and I got the small beef package and it came with a great variety of meats and banchan. You also get steamed egg and a choice of kimchi jjigae or doenjang jjigae. The meat was good quality, rich, and flavorful. I really liked that they cook everything for you and guide you on what to pair each bite with. I know I would have definitely messed it up if I had to cook it myself. My only complaint is that parties of two can only get counter seating. It felt a bit tight since the banchan take up a lot of space. The soup from the party next to me was right on the edge and really close to my side, so I had to be careful not to knock it over and ended up sitting uncomfortably for most of the meal.

This Korean BBQ restaurant was so busy even on a Tuesday night which shocked me at first but with the service that we given the night of, I fully understood why. It did take a little while to get into our table for our reservation but it wasn't too long and I didn't mind it because they had a place to rest as we waited. The restaurant had a classy bar vibe with the dimmed lights and we also treated ourselves to a pack of free matches and a restaurant card. Once seated we ordered a couple of interesting dishes and were quickly greeted with the side dishes. We ordered the Seafood Pancake, the Salmon Kettle Hot Pot Rice, the Spicy Buckwheat Noodles and the Grilled Black Cod along with our barbecue meats. Out of these 4, the three of us really enjoyed the Grilled Black Cod, it was super tender which we were not expecting. This does not mean that we did not enjoy the other dishes as they were great as well. Not to mention the server mixed and served everything for us either into our plates or into little sharing bowls! The barbecued meats were also super delicious and tender. The server did take note that I was pregnant and even asked if we wanted our beef to be well done which I did ask for a small portion to be. This has been something I have been struggling with because I love medium rare beef but to my surprise, the beef was still juicy even when well done! Then we finished off with some complimentary ice cream which was vanilla soft serve topped off with a little bit of honey yuzu jam which was super refreshing after a hot meal! The meal was great and the service was impeccable as well!

Nubiani was my most luxurious BBQ dinner experience I've ever had by far! The entrance is through a stairway or elevator, but once you enter, the setting changes into an intimate area and glass walls of the building reveal the city buildings, which is so pretty at night! You experience the full-service cooking from the staff so you can enjoy your meal without worrying about burning your kbbq. The meat quality of our Large Beef Package was standard but since it was cooked and served to us, we enjoyed everything they way it's supposed to be served. Ordering a Beef Package or one meat item per person is quite a lot per person, though. We were extremely full by the end of our meal, and could've opted for less portions. The beef package comes with different types of short ribs and skirt steak. I believe we added brisket as we had a party of six. We had a kimchi stew and fluffy steamed egg for the sides. Green onion salad, bean sprout kimchi, and other pickled vegetables are served to enjoy with the meats. I also liked that they had fresh wasabi, which went really well with all the beef cuts. Attentiveness and attention to detail were the standouts for Nubiani. It is ideal for big parties, and the ambience is by far one of the nicest I've come across in terms of location. It was a great experience, and I'd recommend this if you're looking for more than your casual kbbq experience.

I considered this my favorite kbbq spot in NYC but my recent visit has me questioning its status on my list of top kbbq spots. I usually take friends and family members here whenever I am craving kbbq but I fear the quality of the meat has gone down.

Party of 4 - reservations at 6.30 - Friday night plans. I didn't make the reservations but I guess it's a little tricky? Also, cash payment saves you around 10% so hit that bank before you go. Our group of four ordered the following and racked up a meal around $78 pp (not $200): Nubiani package Japchae Kimchi pancake I enjoyed (ish) how they cooked for us to ensure the meat was cooked properly and they were great at attentiveness and service. I just couldn't spill the tea with anything too hot. Additionally, the tables felt so far away and the restaurant was  little dimly lit/loud so I also felt like I was yelling trying to discuss with my friends I was sitting across.   Anyways - I enjoyed the first meat in the package (can't remember, it was beef) and the pork belly. The rice was kinda gummy and I liked the kimchi pancake. I thought what we ordered was plenty but next time maybe I'll order more meat in sub of the japchae.   Great time, happy we went but no huge hurry to come back.

Finally made it to Nubiani for a celebratory meal! For a party of 4, we went for the large beef set as recommended. All of the meat options were of high quality and were very tasty, tender, and juicy. In particular I really enjoyed the seasoned short rib and the marinated short rib! The veggies were very fresh! Our set came with the steamed egg which was super fluffy and well seasoned, as well as the soybean jjigae which was packed with zucchini and tofu. We also got the shrimp chive pancake that was super crispy and had a good balance of chives and shrimp. The banchan were tasty especially with the zucchini and spring onions. Staff were friendly and helpful with the cooking/serving. I liked how they displayed the meat for a little bit (for the pics) before starting to cook it. The restaurant is on the 3rd floor and pretty spacious with big windows, comfortable seating, chic and minimalistic decor. I also really appreciated the ventilation system because I left without smelling like Korean BBQ. Nubiani definitely lived up to the hype!!

    Mary L.

Came here for friends' birthday dinners. The bbq was good, especially since we didn't have to do the cooking. The place also had good ventilation so our clothes and hair didnt smell after. We got our orders quickly and the service was attentive. Theres also a cash discount of 10%, so be prepared if you want the discount.

Very yummy and would recommend. Definitely in the top 3 nyc kbbq spots at the moment. Similar to Cote, Cote might have slightly better quality meat. They also do a free fun little soft serve ice cream for dessert. Ordered: - Marinated Short Ribs - Marinated Shoulder Butt - Skirt Steak - Kimchi Stew - Mushroom Kettle Hot Pot Rice The only thing I wouldn't reorder is the Mushroom rice. It was fine but compared to everything else we had it just didn't standout to me. Egg Soufflé was basically perfection, the perfect balance of fluffiness and egg flavor. Service was great, waiters cook the meat for you so each piece is cooked to perfection. Vibes were great. Great place for a cute little date night.

For a group of 4 people, does the restaurant require you to order a large meat package or a meat dish per person or can we order a small meat package and some non meat dishes? (Not everyone in our group are big meat eaters)

No. I order fish and vegetables.

When you go make a reservation it says counter table. Does that mean you have to sit on a high chair not facing your partner?

So the term counter here is kinda deceptive, it's not like a bar counter, it's their table with the grill essentially. You will be sitting at a waist high table with seating on both sides so you can sit across from your partner if you prefer.

    Good for kids.?

If your kids like to eat, yes. It's fancier and it takes time to enjoy. My kids are 10+ and they loved it

Is there music / are there speakers in the restaurant?

Yes to both! It can be pretty loud most nights like any other Korean bbq spot.

Do they have tables for four or are all tables communal?

They do! The communal type seating is only on the left side (from entrance) of the restaurant and back bar area. All other tables can accommodate 4 or more

Some will also say it's a tourist trap but I honestly believe it depends on what your looking for in your dining experience. I also don't think it's fair to compare it to any BBQ you'd find in the State of Texas. There are key differences between Dallas BBQ v Real Authentic Texas BBQ. There's a difference in meat selection, cooking methods and sauce. It's more about the experience than "pure" BBQ. The most Texas thing about this spot is the size of their portions with food and drinks being huge. Also, if your looking for complex culinary, sophisticated, and upscale, this ain't it. If your looking for quiet, nope not here. Yet it surpasses today's run of the mill standards of good quality comfort food affordably priced. I purposely did not eat anything all day just so I could enjoy all my faves such as the sticky wings, cornbread and the turkey chilli. First off you cannot come here and not order the wings! It was my friends first time dining here and when she read the menu she thought the wings were going to be those tiny rinky dink flats and drums, but no ma'am! These are nice size WHOLE WINGS. Attempting to eat all 5 of them will have your belly popping out of your shirt and have you snoring at the table! I can eat 4 on an empty stomach but 5 is a lot especially if your eating anything else or drinking. So if you want to try other menu items get them to share or just be prepared to take some home. The Hennessey wings are good but after eating two of them the flavor is a bit overwhelming to me. You will not find a better chilli than theirs!! Their chilli is so flavorful without being spicy hot. I love that I can enjoy their chilli, it's the right texture, consistency, well seasoned and you can tell its good quality ground turkey. The drinks are lit! Generous amount of alcohol. Everything is TEXAS size even if your ordering something as basic as an apple juice! lol I guarantee you will not need to ask your waiter for a refill. Trust me! One major upgrade they need to do here is to the women's bathroom. I can't speak for the men's room except that there's never a line for it. Meanwhile the line hangs outside the women's bathroom and into the walkway of the restaurant. Its just not enough stalls to accommodate guests for a restaurant this size. The midtown location is MASSIVE seating between 500-800 people across three levels. However, there's literally only about 5 or 6 stalls in the women's bathroom. That ratio is way off. Anyhoo besides that this place rocks. Solid service and good food.

I think you have the option to cook it yourself or have them cook it for you and we chose the latter. While I enjoyed it, I wish there was more space. Most of the space was taken up by the accompaniments that come with it (veggies, etc), so there was hardly any room to put anything else. It didn't help that none of our dishes were cleared once we finished them and that no rice is included. Aside from that, both the food and service were great.

We were a bigger party, and we ordered the drinks and apps at the table. The pitmaster sample platter was delicious. The meat was juicy, the perfect amount of smoky, and just an overall great variety of meat, chicken, pork, sausage, etc. The sides were a good portion as well. The nachos are a must if you are craving an appetizer! Huge portion, and the toppings are epic. As for the desserts, the banana pudding and chocolate pudding were delicious. The cookies are huge - ours were a little burnt, but still had that gooey center that was tasty. I would definitely come back to this place for when I'm in the mood for BBQ.

NOT IMPRESSED…read more Stopped in for a quick lunch around 1:00 PM and I was extremely disappointed with the service and food quality. When I arrived, there were only a few other customers seated in the dining room. That should have been a RED flag, but I wanted to try the burgers while visiting New York. My wife had the Classic Burger topped with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, house sauce served with fries for $19.95 and I had the Smash-ology Burger with double smash burger patties topped with American cheese, red onion, lettuce tomato, smash-ology sauce on a potato bun served with fries for $19.95. First, the burgers are very small, lack flavor and there is nothing special about them. I've had a better tasting burger from Steak & Shack for a fraction of the cost. The fries were very cold and looked like they were sitting on a holding table for an extended period. I sent the fries back only to be served with more cold fries. Service was also lacking. When I complained about the cold fries, the server didn't seem to be pleased and was very hesitant to take them back. At a cost of more than $45 for two burgers and fries, I expected more. I ordered the salmon and shrimp, and it was full of flavor--definitely a highlight of the meal. The cornbread was also delicious: soft in the middle with a slightly crunchy top, just the way I like it. My husband felt the shrimp were okay, but unfortunately the chicken was a bit dry. Even so, the overall experience was positive thanks to the great service, comfortable vibe, and some standout dishes. I'd definitely come back and try a few more menu items!

There was a time when Dallas offered a great experience that could not really be topped in the City. My recent experience tells me it has been left in the past. When you come here, manage your expectations. Nothing here seems overpriced, in fact it's all quite reasonable. However, Dallas is a place that makes their money on volume and the house was packed on this recent Saturday night. Everybody was in there. Service suffered, but not leading with glasses of water was a clear omission. Not returning often enough to check on our table of three was not excusable. I ordered the steak and ribs combo at a reasonable twenty three or twenty four bucks. The fries and ribs were better than the steak. The steak, served over pita bread, was very thin and was more tough than it needed to be. The ribs and fries were both good, but not excellent. It was three or four bones nowhere near a half rack. Do they take the rack and cut it length wise in half to say they met the minimum number of bones? For twenty four bucks, manage your expectations. I had a beer in a goblet. I don't remember the lager, but it was good as an accompaniment to the meal. Thanks for all the years of Dallas keeping NYC in barbecue, but the City has great barbecue spots in all the boroughs now where you'll pay for the quality, flavor and experience. Johnson's BBQ in the Bronx offers takeout rib platters for the same money that'll have you eating superb takeout for two days at home. The bathrooms downstairs were clean enough, but no soap in the dispensers. They have plenty of hand wipes available, the type they give to all the tables when you are finished. Your comments are welcome. 3.0 stars Dallas BBQ
