We made reservations for 4 people a week before and came to the restaurant on time. Unfortunately the seating was very uncomfortable and the manager of the restaurant refused to switch the bench for 2 chairs to accommodate my disability because "it didn't fit their decor perfectly." We were deeply offended and left the restaurant to eat at the nearby restaurant. We would never return. This place should be shut down because they discriminate against the disabled and refused to switch 1 chair to accommodate my back injury. How upsetting is that? Service is horrible. Do yourself a favor, don't bother to come there! Oh and also they tell you that you can only spend 1.5 there, a limit on your stay. You get the picture. Like feels more upscale than your regular KBBQ spots. Made a reservation bc someone told me it can get quite pack. However, we went on a Thursday and notice it wasn't pack. Service was great, just like a good KBBQ spot, they will cook for you table-side, bring you all the yummy ban chan! We opted for the lunch BBQ with spicy pork. Take the tiny elevator up in the old office building and you're immediately transported to a much classier restaurant than you'd expect. Service was great. They included a fluffy egg and kimchi stew for us. It's kind of hard to find, but once you find the building it's in, then you go up the elevator and you will find yourself in the restaurant. The tables were set up in little pods while someone was cooking the meat for you and refilling your drinks and side dishes. It definitely felt like a premium experience. Celebrated a family member's birthday here and had a great time doing so! It's located on the third floor and there are two elevators available which probably only comfortably fit six people (max weight is 1500lb I believe). The servers are all so attentive with replenishing the side dishes, and our server/chef did a fantastic and efficient job grilling the barbecue for us. The machinery used is quite good at diffusing the smells from grilling so I didn't have the usual issue of coming home smelling like barbecue. The meats were all very nice quality and for a party of six, we left comfortably full after ordering the Nubiani set (which is only supposed to feed four), and two noodle dishes (japchae and spicy buckwheat). Worth all the rave! My friend and I got the small beef package and it came with a great variety of meats and banchan. You also get steamed egg and a choice of kimchi jjigae or doenjang jjigae. This Korean BBQ restaurant was so busy even on a Tuesday night which shocked me at first but with the service that we given the night of, I fully understood why. It did take a little while to get into our table for our reservation but it wasn't too long and I didn't mind it because they had a place to rest as we waited. The restaurant had a classy bar vibe with the dimmed lights and we also treated ourselves to a pack of free matches and a restaurant card. Once seated we ordered a couple of interesting dishes and were quickly greeted with the side dishes. We ordered the Seafood Pancake, the Salmon Kettle Hot Pot Rice, the Spicy Buckwheat Noodles and the Grilled Black Cod along with our barbecue meats. Out of these 4, the three of us really enjoyed the Grilled Black Cod, it was super tender which we were not expecting. This does not mean that we did not enjoy the other dishes as they were great as well. Not to mention the server mixed and served everything for us either into our plates or into little sharing bowls! The barbecued meats were also super delicious and tender. The server did take note that I was pregnant and even asked if we wanted our beef to be well done which I did ask for a small portion to be. This has been something I have been struggling with because I love medium rare beef but to my surprise, the beef was still juicy even when well done! Nubiani was my most luxurious BBQ dinner experience I've ever had by far! The entrance is through a stairway or elevator, but once you enter, the setting changes into an intimate area and glass walls of the building reveal the city buildings, which is so pretty at night! You experience the full-service cooking from the staff so you can enjoy your meal without worrying about burning your kbbq. The meat quality of our Large Beef Package was standard but since it was cooked and served to us, we enjoyed everything they way it's supposed to be served. Ordering a Beef Package or one meat item per person is quite a lot per person, though. We were extremely full by the end of our meal, and could've opted for less portions. The beef package comes with different types of short ribs and skirt steak. I believe we added brisket as we had a party of six. We had a kimchi stew and fluffy steamed egg for the sides. Green onion salad, bean sprout kimchi, and other pickled vegetables are served to enjoy with the meats. I also liked that they had fresh wasabi, which went really well with all the beef cuts. Attentiveness and attention to detail were the standouts for Nubiani. It is ideal for big parties, and the ambience is by far one of the nicest I've come across in terms of location. Our group of four ordered the following and racked up a meal around $78 pp (not $200): Nubiani package Japchae Kimchi pancake I enjoyed (ish) how they cooked for us to ensure the meat was cooked properly and they were great at attentiveness and service. I just couldn't spill the tea with anything too hot. Additionally, the tables felt so far away and the restaurant was  little dimly lit/loud so I also felt like I was yelling trying to discuss with my friends I was sitting across.   Anyways - I enjoyed the first meat in the package (can't remember, it was beef) and the pork belly. The rice was kinda gummy and I liked the kimchi pancake. Finally made it to Nubiani for a celebratory meal! For a party of 4, we went for the large beef set as recommended. All of the meat options were of high quality and were very tasty, tender, and juicy. In particular I really enjoyed the seasoned short rib and the marinated short rib! The veggies were very fresh! Our set came with the steamed egg which was super fluffy and well seasoned, as well as the soybean jjigae which was packed with zucchini and tofu. We also got the shrimp chive pancake that was super crispy and had a good balance of chives and shrimp. The banchan were tasty especially with the zucchini and spring onions. Staff were friendly and helpful with the cooking/serving. I liked how they displayed the meat for a little bit (for the pics) before starting to cook it. The restaurant is on the 3rd floor and pretty spacious with big windows, comfortable seating, chic and minimalistic decor. Yum yum yum! I was excited to try Nubiani since everyone hypes about it. The heads up you should know is that there is a minimum spend per person, even if you go with a group as small as 3 people. This is annoying because the small beef platter would have been enough food for the 3 of us who went. That being said, the food is still amazing. The quality of the meat cuts were so good and I was obsessed with the marinated short ribs they served last in the small beef platter package. The soybean stew doesn't have pork so I chose this, and it was OK. The egg soufflé and scallion salad were so yummy though. Lots of great banchan that they refill for free. The servers were so nice and attentive. We also ordered some sides as well which were so delicious. The wagyu persimmon salad and the perulo oil buckwheat noodles were fantastic. My only feedback is that I wish there were more sauces or that the other meats had a bit more flavor. It's a very lively atmosphere but once you are seated, it feels more of a private experience. Saw a post on threads that highly recommended this place and bookmarked it. Finally got to try it last night, made a booking on resy for 4 people at 6:30pm Thursday night. They will only seat your party when everyone is there. There's a waiting area next to the elevators on the left side. When we were ordering, we were a bit surprised they had a minimum spend required per person, so you'd have to pick between the package for 4 (the 2 more expensive packages on the bottom since the top 2 was only for 2 people) or order 4 meats... and you can't swap it with other dishes on the sides (we wanted to also get japchae and seafood pancake). I think overall the food was ok, not that impressed, and I didn't like the fact that we had to order one meat per person at minimum, cost does add up and it was pretty pricey so we didn't get to try other items. We went with the nubiani package and I only really liked the first one out of all the cuts. They do grill and cook the meat for you so that's nice and all the side dishes are free, you can ask for refills as well. I didn't really like the flavors of the sides so that was also just ok for me. The egg was really fluffy and filling though. They also have complimentary ice cream at the end. If you pay by cash you get 10% off and they'll tell you there's an atm on the side that doesn't charge fees. Interesting experience, with all the options around, I probably won't be coming back again. Having wasabi to accompany the sauce and salt was something I've never experienced before, but it worked for the meat lol. This is my third time here. Hovering between a 3 and a 4. They are enforcing a rule where each person must order a meat entree (minus our child.) However, eating a whole ribeye steak would be hard for me either way. We ordered the boneless short ribs (this was by far the best). Best flavor and it was the softest. The ribeye was okay. It did not taste the freshest. The marinated short ribs were very strange. It had a really grainy texture, like was left too long in the marinade. We couldn't finish all of this and had to take it home. The baan chan was replaced at a rapid rate. I was confused why they would replace it even though it was not empty yet. It seemed a little wasteful. The perillia oil noodles were soft and a had good flavor. It was a pretty small portion for the price, probably enough for two people to share and four people to have a small taste. The squid and beef pancakes were made well and very thin. The staff was very nice. One of them was very sweet and offered to cook meat longer for my child. He even offered to cut it up without me prompting him. I think the boneless short rib is the way to go. However, I don't think I can eat so much meat, so probably won't be returning. read more

Nubiani is definitely one of the better Korean BBQ spots in NYC. The meat quality is excellent -- we went with the Nubiani package for a group of four and every single cut was so good. You can really taste the quality. The portions were generous too -- honestly way too much food for four people. I wouldn't recommend ordering add-ons if you're doing one of their set packages. The server cooks everything for you, which makes the experience feel seamless and elevated. Our server was really nice and attentive overall. The only hiccup was that it took over 20 minutes to get our sparkling water, even though still water was already on the table. Not a huge deal, but noticeable. Some standouts for me were the mushroom kettle hotpot rice -- so flavorful and comforting -- and the steamed egg, which was fluffy and perfectly done. Definitely had a flashback moment. Nubiani is spacious. The tables are properly spaced apart so you don't feel like you're sitting on top of each other. There's also two grill counters/bar which is where they seat you if you're a two top. Just like their sister location, the service is prompt and the food is delicious. We went with the pork set and could barely finish. And of course, you get a delicious ice cream soft serve after. We got the small beef package, which feeds 2 people (could have fed 3). The package comes with skirt steak, rib finger, seasoned short ribs, and your choice of either boneless short ribs or ribeye and your choice of soup. We opted for ribeye and kimchi stew. The package also comes with lots of banchan side dishes, including their fluffy egg soufflé. They cook the meat for you, and gave recommendations of pairings. Everything was incredible. Holy! This was the best KBBQ I've ever had. The price is well worth the meat and service you get. Highly recommend reservations for 5 or more people and for dinner time at 5 PM or later. I made a reservation a month in advance for 4 people for a Sunday at 4 PM. The place is kind of hard to find as it's on the 3rd floor of a building. When we got in, there were only three other parties there. When we left, it was a different story! My friends and I shared the Nubiani package, a japchae, and a beef tartare. Once we placed the order, the bonchan's or small cold dishes that are complimentary came floating out throughout the table. The bonchan's here are on another level - some standard ones (like kimchi and broccoli with soybean and pickled onions) and some I've never seen before at other Korean restaurants like sweet potato with wine and a veggie with lime juice (I believe). The rice and perfectly sized lettuce wraps were free of charge too! The servers cooked the meats one at a time which gives us time to eat it fresh! The Nubiani package comes with beef rib eye, beef rib finger, beef boneless short ribs, pork belly, and pork seasoned shoulder butt. This was more than enough food for 4 people (if you're all not a big eater) along with two additional apps. Everyone's least favorite was the pork belly and everyone's favorite was one of the beef. I thought the pork seasoned shoulder was very flavorful and delicious too! Our package also comes with a soup and you have a choice of kimchi or soybean soup. We got the kimchi soup and it was good! The steamed egg was very good too but a bit saltier than I expected. The beef tartare comes in a nice bowl with a raw egg on the top as well as sliced pears. It was pretty good but I would probably not order it again since it wasn't anything special for me. The japchae was standard if not better. It was flavorful without being overly salty and came with a bunch of mixed veggies with my favorite being the thin sliced mushrooms. In the end, they even give complimentary icecream with Yuzu syrup on top. It was so good! Additionally, since we were celebrating my friend's birthday - hers had additional rainbow sprinkles and a candle! There are three restrooms in the back - a female, a male, and a unisex one. There was individually packaged mouthwash in the restroom as well as hand soap which was really nice after eating a big meal! Nubiani is in my opinion, a top 3 NYC KBBQ spot. The service is incredibly professional yet it does not feel overly posh. The set for two is always more than enough for my gf and I. You can taste the quality in the meat and the care the servers make in preparing the meats. Muah Environment is also great for dates or small group hangouts. I've been and have remained a devout Yoon Haeundae Galbi gal but I needed to see the gospel that is Nubiani. I'll rapid fire this one but just know that Yoon is the barometer Nubiani: - banchan was good but Yoon is more traditional - kimchi soup was a touch too heavy on the fresh grated ginger - doenjang jjigae was good but Yoon's is richer - beef cuts were great but less tender than Yoon - actually has pork whereas Yoon does not - lettuce leaves were replenished without charge - complimentary vanilla soft serve with yuja marmalade was a plus - waitstaff does all the tableside cooking for you - dim dining room, average noise level, good presentation of food, younger but very respectful and knowledgable waitstaff - sparkling water from a carafe for the table was available read more

This is such a long overdue review for Nubiani. I feel like so many Korean bbq spots in ktown that are so similar. However, Nubiani surpasses my expectations every time I come. To start with the service, it's always been consistent, whether it's been a large party or small, service is on point. From explaining the menu to answering my questions, to knowing exactly when I need my bon chon refilled, they know exactly what to do. Now onto the food. The bon chon provided sometimes change, but everytime they've been a hit. They provide SO MANY kinds of bonchon, so I've never felt like I never had too little food. The quality of the meats are wonderful and cooked very well. I got to experience the grilled cod my last time here, and it was delicious. The cod along with the normal beef package was just enough for me and my boyfriend. While it's a bit pricier than the kbbq spots in the area, the quality of the food you get along with the service and the ice cream you get at the end makes you feel like it's worth it. The meat quality, out of this world. The service, the best I've ever had for KBBQ besides while I was in Korea. I suggest trying one of the meal packages. We went with the beef package for 4, which includes boneless short rib--super tender and beautifully marbled. The meal comes with a generous selection of banchan (my favorite was the sweet potato) and sides, plus your choice of stew, egg soufflé, and even Korean soft serve for dessert.
