I came here for their lunch special menu (12pm-3pm). I got the pork ribs set which came with banchan, egg souffle, lettuce & gang dwenjang, a choice of soybean paste or kimchee stew, and ice cream. I also ordered the mushroom kettle hot pot rice. The set alone was enough; however, I really wanted to try their hot pot rice. The pork ribs, recommended by our waiter, were a good mix of sweet and savory. The meat quality was great! The best part of the service is they cook the meat for you so you can relax and enjoy the meal. The mushroom hot pot rice was one of the best I've ever had. The bottom of the rice was so crispy and our waiter seasoned the rice enough so that it was perfectly umami. It had a very generous portion of mushrooms. The restaurant itself has a nice aesthetic. The only con was that it was hard to have a conversation because it echoes a lot so my friend and I felt that it was difficult to hear each other over the other people conversing around us. This really hit the spot for KBBQ cravings! The inside is very modern and clean which I appreciated. We started off with the squid and beef pancake, which was good, but not anything special. Sadly, no one liked the scallion salad... we would've loved a regular lettuce salad for sure though. The banchan was just alright, nothing we really wanted more of. This is probably where they were lacking in the most. For 3 people, we ordered the small beef package, which came with boneless short ribs OR rib eye (we chose ribeye), skirt steak, rib finger, and seasoned short ribs. It also comes with a choice of soybean paste or kimchi stew. My favorite part of the meal was the fluffy egg. Service was on point. I came here for my friend's birthday and had a great time. Located in Koreatown, this is the original location for Nubiani and you have to be sure to book a reservation ahead of time, or you might not get a seat. Service here was good but I do think that the service at their second location in Midtown is much better (that was my first time at Nubiani). The ambiance here is a lot livelier and casual, in comparison to that location. With four people, we decided to do their Nubiani package as well as order their beef tartare, squid and beef pancake, and naengmyeon. Everything was delicious. The side dishes were solid, their meat quality was amazing, and their appetizers were great. I loved the birthday soft serve that they gave to my friend at the end, and their classic orange soft serve was delicious. First thing to note when we first sat down was that we were required to either order the large combination meat platter or order at least 4 à la carte meat dishes (for 4-person party). This information was not explicitly said at the time when reservation was made so I felt like this was falsely advertised + bad business dealing. (We later did not hear the server share this expectation with the newly seated party next to us, which makes me wonder why it is told to some parties and not others). Service was extremely rushed and when I brought it up to our waitress to slow down, there was no apology and she gave me a passive aggressive smile every time she asked if we were ready for the next meat to be grilled. Being from LA, I've had my fair share of kbbq and this one was definitely catering to non-Asians. They try to sell an upscale and western version of kbbq but their meat selection + service missed the mark and left a sour taste in our mouths. They have a vast selection of banchan and they replenish it when you're running low but they also replenish when you've only eat half of the plate so it feels a little wasteful. One banchan that stood out was the mashed sweet potato with red wine syrup, they were very generous in making sure we had enough of that to eat. We ordered the beef large package and most of the meats were galbi. The one-week marinated galbi tasted best in this combo set. At the end of the meal, we were given a yuzu soft serve ice cream but the thing that really left such a sour taste in my mouth was when we were just starting to eat our ice cream, the manager came by to tell us that we needed to leave because they needed to get ready for the next party. If we didn't need to wait for the kimchi jigae to come out (they forgot about our soup), and if we didn't need to wait for the ice cream to come out (waited for about 5-10 minutes after we told them we were ready for dessert), we would've probably left already. Like I said, they missed the mark on service immensely. Absolutely mind blown about the place. The quality, food, service, and the best restaurant experience in NYC! The small beef package was more than enough for two people and left us very full. The small beef package includes 4 different types of meat (boneless short rib or rib eye, skirt steak, rib finger, and seasoned short ribs). It also comes with 반찬 (banchan), 계란찜 (Gyeran-jjim/ steam egg), and you can pick either the 김치 찌개 (kimchi jjigae) or 된장찌개 (doenjang jjigae). I wish the 된장찌개 had a little more broth but nonetheless it was delicious! A very nice touch was the yuzu ice cream at the end. Heads up - you can get 10% off if you pay on cash. Nubiani is my favorite kbbq place in all of NYC! I've basically been coming here once a year for the last 5 years or so and it's always been super consistent and never fails. First off, the service is absolutely top notch. This place will cook the meat perfectly for you so there's no need to stress about the timing or flipping. Not only that but they cut it up into perfect serving sizes and even "clean up" the meat, meaning they get all of the galbi off the bone for you but they also go so far as cutting off the little burnt edges. If that isn't next level service, then I don't know what is. The meat quality equals the service levels and the kitchen prepares the cuts and seasonings to enhance the flavor profiles to bring out the best. My favorite is always the gabli- I am happy to just do multiple orders of it paired with some steamed egg and the side dishes. Depending on the group size, we'll usually throw in some japchae and/or the seafood pancake. The place is spacious and great for groups. It's so welcoming once the elevator doors open and the hosts are quick to check in with you. This place is definitely a bit more upscale than most of the other options in ktown so also note that it's on the pricier side for a la carte. Lastly, you can grab your complimentary ice cream and I love that you don't come out totally stinking of bbq! Overall I think this place is worth checking out: way better than AYCE and food-wise on par with Cote (just the experience is slightly less elevated & trendy). Ambiance / Things to Consider: overall, ambiance is nice but also casual. You can come dressed in anything (sweats to super trendy). My direct comparison is Cote and this place feels a bit less elevated. If I was taking someone out for a nice dinner, I'd opt for Cote (though Nubiani is still nice). -They really do hold you to the table times (2 people = 90 minutes). So make sure you arrive on time. It almost felt a little rushed. -If you pay with cash, 10% off the bill. There's an atm inside the restaurant. Food: recommend ordering one of the packages. Also enjoyed the Shrimp Chive Pancake and the complimentary ice cream is a nice touch. Despite the good food I have a few complaints. First, we were rushed throughout the entire meal. Within seconds of ordering we had a mountain of food descend on our table and I had to tell the server to slow down the pace of the entire meal (or else we would have been finished in 30 minutes). This place is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to for any type of food. Easily top 3. The expectations were high and the place still over-delivered. We had a cake but unfortunately they have a cake fee of $30 so we just left it in their fridge until we finished. The bbq at Nubiani is a consistently excellent experience. The large beef or pork package is great for 3-4 people, or get the Nubiani package if you want a combo of both. The appetisers are very large and great for sharing. Meats are cooked wonderfully and are delicious, same with the steamed egg, banchan, stews, and the dessert. The only challenges are that you may have to wait a bit of time for your table as the place gets really busy (part of the vibe), and sometimes the service can be a little bit cold/casual. read more

Meat here was really yummy! My boyfriend and I shared the small beef combo, and it was around $205 total with an added beef and squid pancake. We were both full afterwards. The workers here cook the meat in front of you and are each assigned a table, so there's no chance of getting your meat over cooked. The meat was all pretty tender and flavorful compared to a lot of KBBQs in the city. The price wasn't too bad either as the ambience made it a nice date spot. I enjoyed all the meat except the sweet marinated cut that came in the package. The steamed egg was also delish. The beef and squid pancake sucked. I do not recommend it. The meat is high quality and we appreciated the tips on which sauce goes best with which meat. The only thing I didn't like is the banchan-- which sadly is usually my favorite part of Korean meals. They served celery, watercress, kimchi (which was too fermented for my liking).. and I was not a fan of those. Bean sprouts were okay. Would've preferred more normal Korean banchans. You get your own privacy with your groups so they won't hover over you like other places waiting for you to order more. Took one of my good friends to treat him for his birthday. I'm a Resy Global Dining Access Member and requested for a nice table and it's usually accommodated esp. if it's the opening hour 12 noon on a weekday, which was last Friday. I loved everything about Nubiani except for the hostess who was dismissive and rude when she was headed to the bar counter seating area and I kindly asked if there are other tables we can get since I indicated it. She was just dismissive, there are none. Oh really? How come there were at least 8 to 10 available? Also no need to be rude esp. if you're in a customer-facing role. Chose Ribeye and the quality of meat was great. The rest of the meat options were delicious as well as the dipping sauces, honestly the meat was good enough to eat on its own but I found it elevated w/ a bit of salt & wasabi. The Kimchi Stew was delicious and one of my favorites! And the special Banchan were overflowing, some were new to me in fact. Elevated Banchan I'd say! We also enjoyed some wine, their only Prosecco offering was actually very good and my friend chose a great glass of Red. Ethan reminded us of our remaining 15 mins and then gave us some soft swerve ice cream w/ orange marmalade. Think it's a good way to refresh your palate and the heavy meal.
