Lunch menu

Came to take advantage of the $9.99 lunch special again. Heard that they added chicken cutlet on the menu so wanted to try. It was not too crowded but started to fill up as time passed. It is a big spacious restaurant with ample seating. Got the chicken cutlet that came with a side salad, rice, kimchi and potato salad. It has a unique sauce that's kinda sweet. Also, tried the chive& scallion pancake which came with rice, kimchi, veggies, and potato salad. It was all right. I prefer seafood pancake. Can't beat the price for lunch with quick service. Only available Monday - Thursday, 11:30-2, excluding holidays.

Went here before a concert at MSG, it's so close by, all you can eat and was fucking delicious. I loved all the the little side dishes they brought-- glass noodles, onions, salad, veggies, pork belly (there was kimchi too but I don't eat kimchi so I have no thoughts) out but nothing more than the potato salad which was basically mashed potatoes. They are SO GOOD and go perfect with the grilled meat. For that we got some beef bulgogi and hanger steak and the hanger steak was definitely my favorite. I loved it. We also got bibimbap as a side which was great too. I also tried Milkis for the first time and it was sooooo good, a highlight of the meal for sure. Overall a really fun experience and would definitely go back!

There are several Jongro BBQ, my sister picked this one, and upon arriving there were not many people. Wednesday is a special deal of 38.99 per person for dinner menu. I got a bunch of side dishes, tofu stew, kimchi stew, bibimbap, cold noodle, tteokbokki, and the banchan of course. The noodles were TOO COLD. Tofu stew was too oily, everything else was OK. Not a bad deal, the meat quality was decent and good service. You get 1.5 hour ordering time- we ordered two rounds squid, octopus, flat iron steak, hangar steak, bulgogi, shrimp, spicy chicken. We were all super full at the end.

Came here with a group of 4 on a Friday night at around 8pm. We sat and ate for about 2 hours. They let you order 5 plates of meat at a time, and often recommend to double up the plates since they ate small. The soju prices were expensive but we paid for the convenience. The meat wasn't the best quality, but it's to be expected for the price. I thought the marinade for everything was delicious and I didn't need to touch my sauces. The pork belly, spicy pork, and short rib were my favorite. I really enjoyed the kimchi stew too!

Nice open and streamlined interior for good flow of patrons and servers, who may be carrying hot grills.

I stopped by Jongro BBQ Market with the same friend I reviewed initially almost a year ago and found Jongro BBQ Market has actually improved slightly since the first time. Jongro BBQ Market is not the high end of KBBQ, but it offers a consistently good value where you can afford to return anytime you please and we did. They don't skimp on the banchan here and this time we ordered a boiling hot cauldron of the kimchi stew for each of us, because we liked it so much before. This deserves to be highlighted, especially on these bitter cold wintry days. The deeply rich and spicy broth with tofu, the fermented cabbage, and tomato base with small pieces of what I assume is spicy pork bulgogi is tremendous. Careful, they bring it out smoldering hot and it remains warm in that stone cauldron for a long time. I found the scallion pancake cut like a pizza, offers a nice crisp crust, and goes well with the kimchi stew. I could take a pork bulgogi loaded kimchi stew home as a to go order with that scallion pancake and be very satisfied. Our first order included much of what we liked before: spicy squid, marinated shrimp, spicy pork bark bulgogi and beef bulgogi. We later added the thick cut pork belly a few times. The beet infused daikon, which we ordered a few times, goes very well with the thick cut pork belly and I would imagine it would go well with the pork and beef bulgogi. For those who miss the lettuce, the beet infused daikon deserves your attention, as well as that thick cut pork belly, which cut markedly improved over the first visit to Jongro BBQ Market. Each order of the thick cut pork belly is four beautiful cuts and is probably not unlike that served at the more upscale Jongro BBQ. The shrimp and squid were fantastic and they grill quickly for those who are hyper conscious of the ninety minute timer for AYCE. The spicy squid really sets it off and the shrimp are really quite flavorful. The seafood offers a juxtaposition to the meat for your palate. The spicy pork bulgogi and beef bulgogi are your main and star players at Jongro BBQ Market. You'll keep ordering these and probably together each time. They are consistently good to great and you will keep them on repeat several times in your ninety minute AYCE window. They are satisfying and do not take as long as the thick cut pork belly to grill for those conscious of that clock timer. Jongro BBQ Market is kept very clean and they continually check and replace your grill several times in your ninety minute AYCE window. Petra was our main server, but she will not be the only one to check on and replace your grill. The servers operate as a team, as I have seen at AYCE KBBQ spots. Petra was great and kept tabs on allowing us to reorder at our pace. Jongro BBQ Market is not at the upper end of the KBBQ scene, but offers a solid and affordable AYCE KBBQ experience in KTown for fifty bucks. It offers the highlights of KBBQ and has improved over the initial visit after they opened, which bodes well for the future. 3.7 stars!

The food was great! Service was on point. The space and area was large and welcoming. Two things that I wish they can change is the grill size and servers helping you to cook the food. The grill is so small it's hard to cook everything at once. Most AYCE Korean BBQ have the servers helping cook which makes things easier.

Their banchans! My fave was definitely the Japchae

We were so hungry we didn't even take photos of the meat and sides but will say what makes this place great is the sides they offer. I'm talking real servings of sides. We had the spicy cold noodle (first time ever trying this and it didn't disappoint), scallion pancakes, corn cheese, and spicy tteokbokki. Also asked for another serving of Japchae because it was so good. The meats were good but I think the sides left more of an impression on me. The staff is also very attentive - almost too attentive we had multiple people asking us if we wanted to order more lol but they're super friendly so not really a complaint. I also like that it's not dark in there. Would come back!

Food: I have always loved Jongro and have been going for many years so I was very excited when they opened an AYCE restaurant across the street. The quality of the meats here isn't as high as their original restaurant, but for an AYCE restaurant, the quality is excellent. I would say Jongro's AYCE is MUCH better than Let's Meat which has been around for years in terms of both quality of food and service. We went on a Saturday for lunch ($49.95 for weekend pricing) which includes a wide variety of menu items. The meats included brisket, hanger steak, flat iron steak, chicken, shrimp, squid, octopus, pork jowl, premium pork belly (thicker cut), sliced pork belly (thinner cut), marinated pork rib, bulgogi, beef tartare spicy pork and pork shoulder. We tried almost all of the meats, and my favorites were the beef brisket, pork jowl, pork belly, and marinated pork rib. All of the meats, however, were delicious and are highly recommended. The hanger steak was a bit tough so I would skip that one. The sides were excellent as well and included spicy tofu stew, kimchi stew, spicy rice cakes, kimchi pancake, chive and scallion pancake, rice, corn cheese, bibimbap, cold noodles, spicy cold noodles, and more. My favorite sides were the spicy tofu stew, rice cakes, and cold noodles. The weakest part of the meal was the ban chan which wasn't anything special. It was a little disappointing that they didn't offer lettuce and steamed egg as sides. Overall, it was an amazing meal, and I would definitely go back again. Service: Service was phenomenal! Staff are very friendly and attentive. The food comes out quickly once you order. You are limited to ordering five different meats at a time and unlimited sides but can order as many times as you would like. Once you place an order, the meat and sides come out pretty quickly. They also provide small portions each time so that you're able to try out all different meats. Ambiance: The restaurant is spacious and seating is comfortable. They have tables to accommodate both small and large groups. With a large group, there is one grill for every group of four people. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant!

Picked up lunch ordered from hungry panda with a discount and really enjoyed the food! The flavor was so good and it came with a good portion too and some yummy sides! Would definitely recommend checking it out. I'll probably come back another time for their lunch special deals. 超好吃! 份量也蠻多的 一人吃會超飽 (還有一份年糕還吃不完) 配菜給很足 推一個 下次再來試試別的

So thoroughly impressed with Jongro Market! Really loved how many options there were for side dishes. The kimchi stew and tofu stew along with the scallion pancake and tteokbokki were among our favorites! The meat selections were great too. The pork jowl is my favorite!! Something for everyone. Service is awesome. Super attentive staff. The restaurant itself is pretty spacious and they play really fun K-pop music. My type of place haha. Been here at least 5 times, and love it every time!

Servers are great at recommending what to order so you don't over order. They were super kind to me n the meat quality was very tasty! Tried the bibimbap, dumplings, most beef, some pork, chicken and seafood. All yummy!!

Brisket, pork jowl, galbi, bulgogi, spicy squid
Jodi V.

An all you can eat KBBQ place where quality of meats is still prioritized. They have Omaha Beef Quality, and it's reflected in their Prime Beef Brisket, which was one of my favorite cuts. I also loved the tenderness of the galbi and the texture of the pork jowl (not too fatty or tough). Their spicy octopus was also a runner-up - I feel like I don't usually see octopus at KBBQ, and I really enjoyed the texture and flavor of the marinade. In terms of sides, I thought the kimchi and scallion pancake was perfectly done. It was thin and crispy, but still had some chewiness to it, and the flavor was great. Would probably not get the tofu stew again - it's a good classic and great for cold days, but I did feel like it got a bit too salty. Also, they give you a lot of banchan, including some bossam (I think), which was super tender and probably my favorite. Service was quick and attentive - our cuts of meat came out quickly, and staff was attentive to when empty plates needed to be cleared or water needed to be refilled. It's a little loud in there, but I think that's the vibe of the place. Seating wasn't too crowded and there was a good amount of space to walk.

Bibimbap

3.5 stars, rounded up. We came on a Saturday at 12pm, and there were about 5 tables occupied. There were only two waiters, and they were pretty hands off. We overheard one of them saying that they thought it was really busy, which surprised us because it all seemed pretty slow and quiet. Food came out really quickly. The meats were decent quality. The portion sizes of the meat plates were small, but the waiters did check in constantly to see if we wanted to order more. We tried the marinated chicken, spicy chicken, marinated shrimp, spicy octopus, bulgolgi, and hanger steak. The meats all were marinated well -- not too bland or salty. Both were marinated shrimp and chicken were good. The spicy chicken wasn't bad either, but it was not spicy at all -- it was more peppery, but great to order to switch up the flavors. The spicy octopus was alright -- the sauce for it was pretty sweet. The beef bulgolgi was probably the worst of the meats because it was too dry. For sides, we ordered bibimbap, scallion and chives pancake, and the kimchi pancake. Both the pancakes were very undercooked. I don't know if it was just that day, but they were disappointing. The bibimbap was simple (just a few basic veggies, no egg), but it tasted better than it looked. I'd use just a little bit of the sauce they provide for it because it's very sweet and salty. We added a bit too much, but it was still delicious. The service was alright. They were great in asking us periodically if we wanted to order more, refilling our waters, etc. They were pretty uncoordinated though. They seem to not have their own assigned tables to look after. In three separate instances, we were asked twice if we wanted to order / order more. We would place an order with one of the waiters, and less than a minute afterwards the other would come and ask if we wanted to order more. Not a big deal, but we thought it was interesting how coincidental it was and how the management seemed a bit unorganized. The waiters were very nice though. Overall, we had an okay experience dining here. The decent food quality and the speed at which the food comes out are pluses, but the overall atmosphere felt a little unorganized. I wouldn't be opposed to returning, but I think the next time I want Korean BBQ, I'd more rather try out a new place.

Here's what we ordered: ~ Tako Wasabi - 5/5 stars A fiery delight. This appetizer feartures chopped raw octopus marinated in wasabi. It has a lively zest from the wasabi and is topped with tobiko, which adds a pleasant contrast in texture. ~ Honey Makgeolli - 4/5 stars A traditional fermented Korean beverage that is light and pairs brilliantly with your meal. Some of the temaki stood out more than others. Our two sets included marinated salmon, bluefin tuna, spicy yellowtail, spicy bluefin, and two dynamite temaki. ~ Spicky Pork Ssam Set - 5/5 stars Truly another standout entree that even surpassed my beloved grilled BBQ bossam. You received a generous basket of assorte greens, including romaine, kale, perilla leaves, dandelion leaves, nappa cabbage, and more. It is well worth the price and makes for a fun, interactive dining experience with your family and friends. We got the large beef combination platter which comes with ribeye, thin skirt, brisket, marinated kalbi, and marinated chuck flap. Most people stuck with water, while a couple got ginger ale. I ordered the soju flight but I ended up not liking it so my cousins shared it. The meal comes with different veggies as well as your choice of soup. We got the spicy tofu and split it 6 ways. The spice lived up to its name, so I didn't eat very much. The best part was meat. Despite there being 6 of us, there was plenty to go around. I think you have the option to cook it yourself or have them cook it for you and we chose the latter. While I enjoyed it, I wish there was more space. Most of the space was taken up by the accompaniments that come with it (veggies, etc), so there was hardly any room to put anything else. It didn't help that none of our dishes were cleared once we finished them and that no rice is included. Aside from that, both the food and service were great.

But there's no denying that BCD has upped their soondubu game considerably in the last decade+ with a thicker, more deeply flavored broth, and now easily rivals my longtime favorite and gold standard, the OG So Kong Dong in Fort Lee. Then I stumbled into a hack that changed my view: lunch! I ducked in for a late lunch on a whim while walking by one day, and this turned out to be a much chiller hour, unhurried and no reservation needed. I was promptly seated, my order taken, and the banchan swiftly laid out. The banchan spread is solid across the board (the little fried fish does nothing for me, but seems to be a highlight for everyone else). I especially love the kimchi, near-perfect IMO, and the pickled cucumber. There's a modest lunch discount, which is a nice bonus for someone who likes to order aggressively. I usually get an oyster, seafood, or assorted soondubu (with a raw egg cracked in), danger spicy of course! Or go the C1 combo route with a galbi (marinated bbq beef short ribs) + smaller soondubu. It's an enormous amount of food, so I take most of the galbi home and feel no shame about it. The galbi, by the way, has also gotten noticeably better over the years - meatier, tender, and the flavor is on point. I've also enjoyed their bibimbap, bulgogi, jap chae, and seafood pancake. Finally, let's talk heat - this chili-head loooves fire! And BCD's danger level is one of the rare instances where the spice level actually meets my punishing tolerance for heat, not some pretense at "American spicy.," despite this being a chain. Their danger level actually means business and brings tears to my eyes, literally. It's still not my favorite place ambience wise, and dinner remains a contact sport I've mostly opted out of, as gone are the days that I can tolerate a culinary mosh pit, and any wait longer than 10 minutes (and only for a superlative place) will trigger an automatic ejection of my presence. But for lunch? Unexpectedly great. 4 stars for dinner, 5 for lunch.
