    Corn Bread

I had a great experience at Dallas BBQ in New York. The service was excellent from start to finish, and the atmosphere was good and very welcoming. I ordered the salmon and shrimp, and it was full of flavor--definitely a highlight of the meal. The cornbread was also delicious: soft in the middle with a slightly crunchy top, just the way I like it. My husband felt the shrimp were okay, but unfortunately the chicken was a bit dry. Even so, the overall experience was positive thanks to the great service, comfortable vibe, and some standout dishes. I'd definitely come back and try a few more menu items!

The food was genuinely enjoyable, and although a few mistakes occurred during the meal, the staff handled each one promptly and professionally. Their willingness to correct the issues without hesitation showed real commitment to good service. Overall, the experience remained positive, and the quality of the dishes stood out despite the minor hiccups. Because they addressed everything so well, I still give them high marks and would gladly return in the future.

This was such a horrible dinning experience. Went here after work with my coworkers and I wish we didn't. Our waiter kept leaving the table. He was inattentive to the point he mixed up our orders - brought the wrong food and had to be switched out. He argued back and it was so unprofessional. Our food took way too long to go come out. They don't want to make a simple non alcoholic drink and that was disappointing. It was NOT that busy. To make things worse all my coworkers - including I got food poisoning from this place. Avoid this restaurant and go somewhere that values your money and time.

They did not provide me with my drinks because of the color of my skin. This is not a good establishment and the food was mediocre. I would not recommend this place for anyone. The Dallas BBQ in time square is way better. Horrible service even after I spoke with the manager he refused. It's an indian man that barely speaks proper english. ambiance was not what I expected because it was barely people in the restaurant and I can understand why.

This place is in a great location. We went in for lunch. We were seated immediately and attended by our server just as quickly. There's tvs playing old throwbacks and it has a dinner style layout. The menu has a lot going on. It was my first time eating at Dallas BBQ so I went for something simple, fish tacos, it stated it's new on the menu. We also ordered the boneless sticky wings and lemonades. The lemonades tasted like water. I took one bite of the fish tacos already knew it wasn't going to sit well with me. The sticky boneless wings on the other hand were pretty good. I'm sure the drinks are great and if I were drinking I wouldn't mind the food being mediocre and unseasoned. Tried it and probably won't again.

I just want to say this place has gone down hill. I came here for lunch with my mom and aunt for the first time in years. It felt nostalgic going back. The place I once thought was awesome was pretty gross on the inside. I asked for a table for three while my mom and aunt parked and we couldn't be seated until they walked in. Might I add, there were over 20 open tables? Distasteful. The honey basted chicken is a classic and fantastic. The cornbread is always good too. Our service was fine but I was getting some serious chilis/applebees vibes here. I did get the early bird special so my meal was $9.99. I also got a side of their Mac and cheese. It was good but nothing to write home about. The cheese was comparable to velveeta ? At the end they gave us what looked like cake pops. I did try one but got some serious red40 vibes. Tasted so artificial. I will definitely never be coming back even though the chicken is incredible. Dirty. Bathroom smelt rancid. Fries were gross. Childhood memories were left at the restaurant today.

The food was amazing. I found out about this place from my sister and mother. They ate at another location. We were in NY for a taping of a live show at CBS STUDIOS.

Honey dipped chicken over cheddar-scallion waffles

I sometimes stop in at the Dallas BBQ in Chelsea because it's almost a given that I'll have a delicious and filling meal. This time was no exception. On this occasion I ordered honey dipped chicken over cheddar-scallion waffles. I've got to say that it was so good. I was blown away because I just didn't expect it to be that good. Very tasty, with a tad of sweetness to the waffles, and the chicken was quite crispy underneath a nice honey based sauce. I was impressed, and I'll probably get this next time. Highly recommended! My companion ordered a half rack of ribs, coleslaw, and cornbread. The ribs had a nice smoky flavor to it, and it's also recommended. Overall it was a great dinner at a reasonable price. The tip was automatically added, which is not my preference, but our server was very nice and personable. I'm sure that I'll keep stopping in occasionally as I've always had great dishes here. If you're in the area then I would definitely recommend giving it a try.

When I visit New York City I never go home without going to Dallas BBQ's to get my favorite item on the menu. The wings. I have been here many times and everyone comes her for the Hennessy Wings. The first time I came I ordered the Hennessy Wings and the Sticky Wings. I was in love with the Sticky Wings. Personally, the Sticky Wings are better. They also know for there signature drinks. This time I ordered the Hennessy Colada. Believe me when I tell you, you will not be disappointed with the size and price of the drink. There are many Dallas BBQ's in New York and sometimes depending on which one you go to they can be a hit or miss. Consistency is the key but they really hit the mark when I visited. The customer service was great and are waiter was really pleasant and attentive.

We stopped by for lunch at Dallas BBQ, and we had the 20z drinks as usual. That's always good. So, I had the salmon and shrimp Platter. The shrimps are delicious. However, the salmon was dry, so I pit some barbecue sauce or some salad dressing on it and tasted much better.

I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and found the restaurant moderately crowded. We were greeted promptly and seated upon entry. I found the space comfortable and relaxed. Our waiter was polite and attentive. We ordered the corn bread as an appetizer. I prefer sweet cornbread versus jalapeño, so it wasn't my thing. However, my cousin is the opposite and she really enjoyed it. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich, greens, and biscuit. I didn't care for the greens, but the biscuit and pulled pork was excellent. My sister had the ribs, greens, and dirty rice. She didn't like any of her food. She said the ribs had a lot of gristle. There was very little meat on the bone. I tasted the rice and agreed with her assessment. It wasn't that good. Our cousin had the chicken, mac-n-cheese, and baked beans. She liked her food. My cousin had been to Virgil's before many years ago and said this experience mirrored past ones. We all ordered dessert as well. i had the strawberry shortcake, which wasn't great. The strawberries were fresh, and I liked the whipped cream, but the "shortcake" was actually the same biscuit that was served with my meal. It wasn't sweet enough and just didn't work well. I ended up picking over the dessert, so most of it went to waste. My sister had the key lime pie which she didn't like. My cousin had the banana pudding which she enjoyed. Overall, the experience got mixed reviews, but I'd visit Virgil's again in the future for sure. The bill ended up being about $150 plus, if I recall correctly, because we ordered alcoholic beverages as well.

Since our program covered the expenses, we didn't pay anything out of pocket. Now I enjoy a good BBQ cookout at home as much as the next family, but don't care for it as a dining experience. My employer catered BBQ luncheons from time to time, and even then I wasn't crazy about it. Here in Hill Country, a room was reserved for us (party of 36). Our dinnerware resembled army mess tins lined with sanitary papers; our glasses resembled moonshine jars complete with screw threads at the rim for lids. Our dinner was a catered set of longhorn cheddar mac & cheese (quite good), sliced brisket (meh), market chicken (a little tough), fresh baked cornbread (dry & hard) and collard greens (good but could be saltier). I consumed massive amounts of mac & cheese and collared greens to help swallow down the almost rock-hard cornbread. Desert was chocolate chip cookies (that wasn't bad). Some members of the group ordered liquor (at their own expense) to celebrate the good time they were having. Customer service was less than stellar. The waitress did not inform us that soft drinks were complimentary until after we finished eating. That wasn't all. The restroom was located downstairs past the bar room. During my two visits - before and after the food was served - the same staff member was there cleaning. He had just finished the sinks when I went in the first time. On the second visit, the front door was blocked from the inside by a pail - he was mopping the floor. Couldn't he have waited till the off-peak hours to do that?? Customer service and cornbread were enough for me to not recommend this restaurant.
