NOT IMPRESSED Stopped in for a quick lunch around 1:00 PM and I was extremely disappointed with the service and food quality. When I arrived, there were only a few other customers seated in the dining room. That should have been a RED flag, but I wanted to try the burgers while visiting New York. My wife had the Classic Burger topped with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, house sauce served with fries for $19.95 and I had the Smash-ology Burger with double smash burger patties topped with American cheese, red onion, lettuce tomato, smash-ology sauce on a potato bun served with fries for $19.95. First, the burgers are very small, lack flavor and there is nothing special about them. I've had a better tasting burger from Steak & Shack for a fraction of the cost. The fries were very cold and looked like they were sitting on a holding table for an extended period. I sent the fries back only to be served with more cold fries. Service was also lacking. Went on a Sunday so at least most parking is free (or can take the train); got a spot right in front of Crowne Plaza, where the restaurant is in. We were seated in a separate area, for the show. A lot of tables in close proximity to each other but luckily we were seated on a high top with a great view of the performers. It is a brunch show so we ordered from the brunch menu, from 7-2pm. Got the 3 Bennys - with spinach and artichoke dip (which I liked the most of the 3), canadian bacon and short rib (meat a bit dry). With a side of tots. Also the Brunch-ology burger - was ok, fries were good. Coffees around $7 each. Pricey. Service was fine. Upgraded the side to poutine which was fine - disappointed that none of the sauce stuck to the fries and was just hardened glob that separates from the fries. I decided to have the Electron Burger (Bacon-infused signature blend, bacon, cheddar cheese, caramelized onions, house sauce) & I upgraded my side to an order of Poutine and my wife had the Saratoga BBQ Burger (Bacon, onion straws, pickles, BBQ sauce) with coleslaw. The bloody Merry is one of the best I had which was the first sign that they take themselves seriously here. This was not a pre mix rhey buy, they make it in house with lots of spices and what not. A great experience at Burgerology!!! We just wanted a quick bite to hold us over until dinner, so we stopped by Burgerology. It was just a few doors down from our hotel. We were greeted immediately and got to sit down wherever we like. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. He gave us some recommendations. We decided to try the wings and tater tots. We had 6 BBQ and 6 buffalo. They were cooked perfectly and had the right amount of sauce. The tater tots were crispy and had the right amount of cheese, bacon bits and chives. I sat for a couple beers, which were cold and big, before ordering take out. While sitting and waiting I had some concerns about what the experience might have been eating in...a lot of wrong plates-to-customers, took a while to change kegs over, a manager overseeing alot... But the food was so delicious it didn't matter. I got the lamb burger that was so tender, delicious and filling. The fries are on point and plentiful. What a spot. 9/10 recommend across the board. Burgerology is located in Midtown amongst the Times Square Craziness. The menu is exciting and has a ton of options-unfortunately I was a bit underwhelmed. The drink options are exciting-but are a bit too sweet. I tasted the Bomb Pop and the Element cocktails-both were too sweet so I swapped them for the Greek Lemonade which ended up being not sweet enough. To eat, we tried a few things: I enjoyed the Proton Burger sub Beyond Burger, Onion Rings, and Sweet Potato Fries with a yummy marshmallow sauce. The Nachos were a bit bland-SALT please. The biggest disappointment was the Mac and Cheese: it had so much potential since it used shells and seemed to have had a lot of cheese sauce but, again....completely lacked salt and flavor. PLEASE I beg places like this to taste the food before serving! We shared the Cookie Jar Sundae for dessert, which was decent. For the price, I can't be too mad. Our servers were friendly, but service was quite slow. I think there is a lot of potential for the food here, but the chefs just need to work on adding some actual spice and flavor! read more

Yum! The vegetarian burgers were so good here that we ate here twice! The wait staff is excellent and since we did both carry out and dine-in, we can attest to both experiences. The restaurant itself is nice enough - nothing to write home about, but warm (NY was freezing!) and the ambiance was nice enough for a family meal. I normally avoid hotel restaurants, but the Yelp reviews for this place were pretty decent, so I decided to give it a chance. I ordered a glass of Riesling along with a tuna steak burger and truffle fries. The tuna steak was tasty. The truffle fries were just OK. The Riesling was on point! I wasn't impressed with the bartender. He seemed more interested in singing along to the playlist in the restaurant and conversing with one person at the bar. I was surprised that he was unable to recommend a cocktail when I asked for an alternative to some of the predesigned menu options. At the end of the meal he brought me a bill and then quickly presented me with a new one with a service charge tacked on. So unethical! We were looking for a place to grab dinner after our escape room adventure on the 25th, knowing it was a holiday and that it may not be many places open, and if they were it may be difficult to accommodatea group of 8 people. I called to make sure they were open and that they would be able to seat a group of 8 and was told yes on both accounts, so to Burgerology we went! When we arrived, a table was already set for us, so off to a good start. We were given menus, and then the waitress asked us if we were splitting the bill or if it was going to be separate. When we replied separately, she then seemed a bit baffled... We asked if that would be a problem, and she said no, we'd figure it out in the end, but I was confused about why she seemed confused when we informed her we wanted separate checks which is what she asked. Okay, we placed our drink orders and appetizer orders for those who wanted appetizers. One person for the barvarian sampler and she said it was good and she was having that as her meal. I got the regular barvarian pretzel and it was pretty good as well. I actually even didn't mind using the mustard it came with. The drinks for almost everyone was good. I say almost everyone because one person got a virgin drink and said it was overly minty and another who got a mint milkshake her drink never came. I had a Hawaiian sunset and that was really good. Another person had a tipsy something and compared it to a long island and she enjoyed that one was well so we were all in agreement that the cocktails were on point. Now we've all placed our orders and we're waiting for awhile. So I'm thinking you know it's a holiday, we're a large group, they may be short of staff and wanting to make sure the orders are correct. Wellllll I was a strong wrong! After over an hour of waiting, as mentioned before one person never received her milkshake, one persons burger was hardly cooked, ones burger was almost burnt, an order of onion rings were replaced with fries and mine was missing along with my side salad. The one with the burnt burger kept hers, the one with the fries kept hers, the one who had the uncooked burger had hers taken back and I was waiting on mine. When mine came it had bacon on it. Informing them I don't eat bacon and had requested it to not have bacon they took it away and it was to be made again. The one whose burger was barely cooked recieved hers back but though it was supposed to come on a pretzel bun it came on a regular bun. After awhile another burger comes out to me again and I check it doesn't have bacon. No it doesn't, GREAT! However seeing all the cooking issues I checked to make sure it was cooked how I wanted. And I see the burger is still pink inside. The cow may as well have said moo So I informed the waitress and she took the plate away. At this point I'm just over it. Everyone is pretty much done with their food and I'm not going to wait for another order to be made. So when she comes over she says I'm going to get everything situated with you all in a few. So we reminded her to take off the milkshake and I told her to make sure to also take off the burger and side salad. One of my friends said she saw something odd going on in the bathroom but I can't speak on that because I didn't see it and I'm not sure what she saw. The 2.5 stars are because what I did have tasted good and one of my other friends who managed to correctly receive her entire order said her food was good. I guess it's very hit or miss. Also I paid cash and I'm guessing she felt that because the rest was change as in coins she didn't have to bring that back to me so she shorted me my change. That wasn't her decision to make. Additionally,I know that many places charge automatic gratuity for large groups which isn't a problem at all. We were all expecting that. Even if they charged a credit card fee for those who used a card, they were expecting that, which I don't believe there was one.
