4.5 stars but I'll round up to 5. Jiu Hao is a Northern Chinese bbq restaurant that cooks the food over coals in front of you. We enjoyed our meal here but service can be a bit slow. They almost forgot our order of beef skewers. Food was good but portion size is a bit small. The meats are grilled in front of you but the skewers are grilled outside and brought to the table. They have seafood and vegetable options. Tea is complimentary. There were a few banchan dishes but they were not refilled. We thoroughly enjoyed the cabbage fried rice and egg fried rice as well as the eel which is eaten wrapped in toasted seaweed. The provided dipping sauces were great.

Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Service was really great! The food also comes out pretty quickly Highly recommend "Live Eel" and "Northeastern Cold Noodles" Would recommend to tell the server to put more sauce when they are cooking the eel in front of you. Personally felt like it was a bit short on the sauce but otherwise it was really good!

    Grilled eel

Saw a review online and decided to come try this place--and I'm so glad we did. We ordered the grilled eel, and it was hands down the best BBQ eel I've ever had. The grilled squid was also amazing, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. We also ordered beef, which was very fresh and high quality. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and they even recommended the right amount of food for us, which we really appreciated. Highly recommend this place, and we'll definitely be coming back again!

We went on a super hot day with 90+ degree weather for lunch, and there weren't many people inside. I was a little worried it's going to be crazy hot but the AC was cool and the ventilation works great, which was already a good start. We ordered 4 cuts of beef, pork belly, and live eel. All the meats were fresh and marinated well. The meats are on the fatty side but that's what we were after for. The waitress who cooked the meat for us did it perfectly. I read that the specialty for this place is the live eel, but tbh it's not quite what I imagined. The fish was fresh but kinda chewy for some reason, and may needs more sauce or seasoning. I do love all of the sauces/seasoning (seafood sauce, sesame sauce, chili sauce, cumin seasoning, spicy seasoning, peppercorn seasoning). The banchan all tastes great. We didn't order any additional sides outside meats, will try next time!

Very salty and not much flavor. Pretty much the same seasoning for most of their BBQ skewers. Service is also so so.

Meat not fresh. Not worth it! The eel is defrosted not fresh at all. All beef are frozened. Do not go!

While waiting I checked out the restroom and found it unpleasant. Thinking I'd have my food ready by the time I returned and no drinks and no food yet. The waiting continues - 4:30 I finally get our drinks; had to send the marg back - I think they forgot the alcohol in it. Still waiting on food; one hour later after being seated - still waiting on food. I mean if this is how Dallas BBQ wants to present themselves there's certainly much room for improvement. Food quality was great, my steak was cooked to order; shrimp and ribs were hot and delicious. Just needs some improvement in order taking and getting the drinks out as fast as possible. That would make a huge difference in the experience. Ambiance was fine; it was comfortable and the music was decent elevator noise. Things I'd like to see improved - times between first touch to customer - once you get the drink orders and bring the drinks be ready for the food order. Don't take forever to speak to the customers about their needs. Definitely would be a 3 or 4 stars if service was faster. Maybe we just had a newbie waitress

Honestly, there wasn't a single meat dish we didn't enjoy. The salad was also surprisingly delicious, with a very tasty and flavorful dressing--it's definitely a must-try. The corn was decent as well. For dessert, they went above and beyond. They surprised us by bringing out cheesecake, and they even brought us an extra slice when I requested it, which made our celebration even more special. Our server and the manager were both excellent, and the staff overall were friendly and welcoming. I really can't say enough positive things about this place. We will definitely be coming back!

It is an all you can eat setup for a flat fee of around $30, with roughly 90 minutes to work through as much as you want. I will be honest -- I have mixed feelings about the time limit format. At that point it is not really all you can eat, it is all you can eat within a window. The other consideration is that the meats cook at their own pace in the BBQ pit, which naturally slows things down regardless of how hungry you are. That said, my wife and I were both satisfied by the end of the meal. We ate our fill and left happy, which is ultimately the goal. The food was genuinely good -- good enough that I actually enjoyed this meal more than some of the higher end Korean BBQ spots I have visited. That says something. I will be back. The value is solid and the experience delivered. Though I have to be honest -- nothing in this city touches the hole in the wall Korean BBQ spots in Flushing. Those are in a league of their own.

Everything 5/5, I would come back. Came here with my partner around 1PM on a Saturday for AYCE KBBQ at $43 per adult. Unlike other KBBQ joints, the servers cook for you here. Sorry, not as many pictures as I had hoped for because I got lost in the eating... lol. Ambience: On the outside, store was inconspicuous but on the inside there was quiet K-pop music, lighting was warm/soft, and there were not many people. Food: Sides and appetizers were unlimited. The julienne pickled radish and carrots were amazing. The GF loves cheese steamed egg but I don't eat dairy. I recommend the addicting fried rice cake. There were some dull lettuce leaves but most were vibrant appearing, everything was clean. For meats, we tried to go down the list for beef cuts but got too before we could try everything. We ordered - Thin cut brisket: My favorite cut especially to start with. Thin so it cooks fast, tender, not too fatty. Not marinated so goes well with salt and pepper. - Hanger steak: Not marinated but simple, classic, and great with salt and pepper. Some pieces were tougher than others. - Finger meat: Not a fan, maybe the tendons in the meat made it tough to chew and hard to eat with the lettuce wrap. - Soy marinated short rib: Good. Light sweet marinade that wasn't overpowering and retained the meaty flavor. - Soy marinated beef bulgogi: Decent. Would say the bulgogi definitely absorbed too much sauce and a little on the saltier side which kind of overpowered the natural flavor of the meat. Service: AMAZING, best service I've ever received at a restaurant. The server clearly took pride in his work. Recommended to us where to sit to not get splashed by oils from the grill. He anticipated all of our needs. He saw I was getting garlic out of my GF's plate and brought me a separate massive plate of garlic (I am a glutton). Gave us refills of appetizers and lettuce before we even ran out. Cooked everything for us and was attentive throughout the whole experience.

(Just off the 7 /or walk from the Q104 / R,M - Northern Blvd. to Q18) It was just okay, not Amazing by what the socials say. Had the ($21) 1/4 Chicken & Ribs Plate, they threw in an extra 1/4. (I was overwhelmed at first and ordered a plain quarter chicken (dark meat) & 3-rib plate. The cashier was nice enough to recommend the #8 combo (1/4 Chicken, 3 Ribs) instead.) The cut of ribs were good but slightly dry. Was recommended the beans (good) with white rice (dry) by the cashier. Dark meat was the best. First bites of the white meat & ribs were dry, but got better towards the middle. The green sauce was watery and didn't have much flavor. Not sure why everyone raves about green sauce. Was expecting Mama's Empanadas level, but this was 1/4 of that flavor. The Cantonese-speaking cashier was so nice & chill! Communication was easy (English, Cantonese, or Spanish) & they had a steady flow of customers, of all backgrounds. I would get the food to go, the dining area is one long, narrow room and for whatever reason the floor was very wet. I guess it's good that they mopped at 4 PM? There were a few guys that were either workers or hanging out at the far back tables, one or two middle-age couples dining in. It was just kind of a sad ambience. The cashier recommended the Lomo Saltado next time. Maybe I went at a slow time, 4 PM Friday. First bite of food at home was decent, but nothing overwhelming. I would stick to all dark meat! Reheat the pink beans at home. Glad that they usually get their workers two weeks vacation (as per a sign in 2022) - shows that business is good! *Didn't realize they're connected to Caravan Chicken in Astoria. Might try them (closer to me) to compare.
