Portion's a bit smaller, galbi is good and lots of side dishes, they'll grill the meat for you which is nice. Seafood pancakes are skippable, my piece was extra thick and tasted a bit bland even with the dipping sauce. We're also got the beef squid soup and that was meh too. Pork belly was just ok too, nothing too memorable from the meal.

Huge portions. Fresh ingredients. Bountiful banchans. Tasty! Convenient bell at each table to flag down your waitstaff. Very popular and busy.

If you're looking for the superb service you're looking at the wrong place, however if you are looking for heartwarming belly filling meal you're in the right place. We showed up for a late dinner ordered the Seolleongtang and one order of the Saeng Galbi. The Seolleongtang was good, as always you adjust your seasoning to taste. The Galbi was tender, juicy and flavorful even though it was cooked inside and not table top. This establishment is not known for nice service but it gives a traditional old style Korean restaurant feel. My girlfriend didn't like how she felt like we are being rushed out, however the sea of banchan and the food that came made her forget about that. Just know what you're looking and have the right expectations for it! Very solid restaurant on my book.

Pretty solid Korean restaurant. We came for lunch and they have a LOT of lunch specials. I usually do not take pictures of menus but 3 pages of lunch specials. Had to take pics of that. The name of this restaurant means Galbi Town but we usually do not order the galbi as we like some of their other dishes better. We order ojingoe dolpan (squid, vegetables and rice in a lot plate) and ttaro gukbap (bean sprouts, noodles in spicy soup). Very traditional dishes and enjoyable. Friends seemed to enjoy their dishes. They gave a good amount of banchan (complimentary side dishes) although there were 5 of us so picture is a little misleading. PRO tip: you can ask for refills of the banchan that you like even though it is free (just don't go overboard). Service was a little slow but not horrible. Interior is your typical Korean upscale IKEA vibe. Overall pretty solid.

Have not been here since my parents had soured on it. They were known for their lunch specials and the bountiful ban chan but I guess for a while they were being a little chintzy. There are so many other Korean restaurants in Queens so there is no need to go where ban chan is not plentiful. As an aside, shame on those LI "Korean" restaurants that charge for ban chan (appetizers), a big part of the Korean food eating experience is the INCLUDED appetizers. So we went and tried this place again. As you can see, ban chan was not lacking. It was tasty and when replenished when asked. I ordered the Ttaro gukbap which is a homey soup that comforts your tummy. It was just the right amount of spice, filled with vegetables noodles and whatever else is in there. Really enjoyed it! As with all restaurants, the prices have gone up but can't blame the restaurant for that. Great place to grab a Korean lunch special!

Enjoyed the crab, broccoli and potatoes. Service is fast and hospitable, didn't have to wait too long for the food. Roasted fish tasted good, and the meat was delicious. And the place gave a really nice feeling.

It's been awhile! I love their yukgyejang. This is my go to place for that soup. Hands down best one with classic ingredients. I hate when places put their own twist to the soup. As always comes with good variety of side dishes! The other dish is a must try is their dolpan bibimbab. Most places have a hot stone bowl but here it's a hot stone plate. So good!

This is a great kbbq spot in queens if you're also looking for an authentic Korean kinda dated restaurant vibe. I personally prefer this over the more modern and flashier kbbq restaurants. It was my first time here and def will not be my last! I loved all the banchan they gave as that isn't usual these days. They even gave marinated crab banchan!! I forgot to take photos of the marinated galbi and other short rib we ordered but it was great! I felt like it was pretty worth it for the quality but also the banchans themselves. The ladies working were also super sweet and friendly although they were hard to flag down sometimes. I'll def come back here!

The food overall is amazing, and the staff are one of the most observant, attentive, and kind people. I was so shocked how fast the food came and the speed of the service. The only thing I wished was for the portions to be bigger.

    So much banchan!

Food: 3.5/5 This is a kalbi spot but we didn't order the kalbi. We ordered yookhae bibimbap, yookgaejang and the fish. Everything was surprisingly very tasteful. The bibimbap serving was huge with very generous portions of vegetables and beef. The yookgaejang had a very generous portion of meat and scallions. The fish was cooked perfectly cooked too. The side dishes here are pretty impressive. I've never been to a Korean restaurant with that much banchan! Lots of vegetables and the food tasted very clean. Service: 5/5 The ladies here are very friendly. They made sure we had everything we could possibly need. The were constantly checking in on us. Ambiance: 3/5 Not the prettiest place. Typical Korean restaurant. Nothing too impressive. Parking in the back.

There's 2 waitresses and one busser, but I felt only one of the waitress was pulling the weight, while the other (maybe she's the owner?) mostly chatted with one of the table customers. I felt bad for our waitress she was so busy with fulfilling takeouts + dine ins and the dishes require a lot of servicing table side. She couldn't catch 1 second of break :( Food wise, we got their 2 person combo of spicy pork gamja tang and spicy rice cake which came with the steamed egg. Everything was so good, egg was extra fluffy, rice cake was delicious and the meat came right off the bones. They take a good variety of side dishes. My partner wasn't a fan of the gamja tang but due to feeling it's a hassle to eat meat with bones, so those who fee sim may agree. We also asked for the fried rice after we finished the gamja tang, for 2 servings I think it was $4.75 or something. I really enjoyed it but I guess I like scorched rice, also something my partner doesn't enjoy so those we feel sim just note. Environment feels very old school, well worn. Feels cozy. It can get loud very quickly on a Saturday night as this place seems to be a hit for large parties. Since the wait staff is short handed, expect a bit of a wait for things. Don't come if you're in a rush.

Geo Si Gi is highly known for their signature gamjatang (spicy pork bone soup). Ordered the Gamjatang & Grilled Mackerel Set - $52.95 (for 2) The gamjatang is perfectly spiced - bold and warming without overwhelming heat (and trust me, my spice tolerance is low!). Instead of the usual red kimchi, they load it with long strips of green napa cabbage, cut right before your eyes before serving. Some bean sprouts, watercress on top, with tender potatoes, chewy rice cakes, and massive pork bones that fall right off - so meaty and flavorful. Served with a side of sweet mustard sauce. Pure comfort on a cold day. The grilled mackerel was enormous and incredibly plump - way bigger than expected! As an oily fish, it's rich and satisfying, but we barely made it through a third. If you're a mackerel fan like me, it's a must-order. . Banchan were simple and homey: nothing flashy, just solid classics. Bonus: it comes with fluffy steamed egg (jjim) that rounds out the meal perfectly. I can eat an entire bowl of rice with just the steamed egg . This set was massive for two - we left with about 1/4 of the soup and 2/3 of the fish! Pro tip: Save some broth and ask them to make fried rice with it at the end. Game-changer. . Highly recommend for hearty, soul-warming Korean food in Flushing!

A couple of us shared a $13 bottle of the green grape flavor of Chum Churum, a soju. In terms of banchan, there was a bunch. Everyone got a cold and refreshing cabbage soup as well as a very tasty version of Braised Tofu/Dubu-jorim/두부조림. Once we ordered, we also got a bunch of other banchan, including cabbage, radish, and cucumber Kimchi, broccoli and cauliflower Namul, Marinated Mushrooms/Beoseot Bokkeum/버섯볶음, Anchovies With Peanuts/Myeolchi Bokkeum/멸치볶음, and Potato/Gamja Salad/감자샐러드. One of the other things brought out was a pretty tasty version of Raw Soy Sauce Marinated Crab/Ganjang-Gejang/간장게장. Most of these were refillable. The first actual thing that arrived was something that I can't eat, the $22.99 Seafood Pancake/Haemul Pajeon/해물파전. I have a cephalopod allergy, or in other words, anything with tentacles, so I avoid squid and octopus, and seafood pancakes always contain one of those two. Everyone else enjoyed it, though. The pajeon I could eat was the Kimchi Jeon/김치전 for a dollar less. It was pretty tasty, though I prefer other spots that had a bit more of a crisp. Next was one of their signatures, the grilled duck. Going from online reviews, we went with the non-spicy version, as people prefer it, as the spicier marinade overpowers the duck. This was the $29.99 Sang Ori Gui/생오리구이. The sliced duck was on a hot, sizzling plate, with there also being a lot of grilled onions and scallions. The duck had a mix of pieces, ranging from fatty to less so, and had a nice mix of textures. This was easily one of my favorites, though I liked it even more when paired with the ssamjang that arrived with the BBQ, as the sauce balanced the light fattiness. Arriving at a similar time was the last thing I couldn't eat, the Spicy Stir-Fried Baby Octopus on Iron Plate/Jjukkumi Cheolpan Bokkeu/철판쭈꾸비볶음, for $30.99. I couldn't try the octopus, but the portion was plentiful, and I had a bit of the noodles on the bottom after making sure there were no tentacles, as well as trying the sauce. The sauce was tasty, spicy, and very flavorful. We went with two of the Korean BBQ meats, one beef and one pork. My preference of the two was surprisingly the $49.99 Charcoal Grilled Marinated Beef Ribs/Yangnyeom Galbi/양념갈비. This also came with two veggies: kabocha squash and asparagus. The beef was extremely tender, had the perfect mix of fat and meat, and had only a light sweetness from the marinade. This was absolutely delicious and very much worth the price point. Also tasty was the Grilled Pork Belly/Samgyeopsal/삼겹살, for $36.95. This also came with a few things, including cabbage and a large mushroom. The pork belly was delicious, being just fatty enough and very tender as well, with a mild chew. The BBQ came with a few extra side dishes. This included a tasty steamed egg/Gyeran-jjim/계란찜, greens, an onion salad, ssamjang, salt, and a small boiling pot of soybean stew/doenjang jjigae. They were all tasty, though nothing particularly notable outside of the portions being generous. Also, at the end of the meal, they gave us some sujeonggwa. Not much for me to complain about this place. The food was very tasty overall, and the service was wonderful. I would go back and order a full beef BBQ set.
