I had choices and this wasn't a good one - save yourself the hassle. 3:50 PM on Thursday; Got here with no lines and barely any staff. 5 minutes in an empty seating area waiting to seat a party of 2 with nothing but empty tables 15 minutes into waiting; we finally were allowed to place our order; waited another 20 minutes for water and a marg in the rocks. While waiting I checked out the restroom and found it unpleasant. Thinking I'd have my food ready by the time I returned and no drinks and no food yet. The waiting continues - 4:30 I finally get our drinks; had to send the marg back - I think they forgot the alcohol in it. Still waiting on food; one hour later after being seated - still waiting on food. I mean if this is how Dallas BBQ wants to present themselves there's certainly much room for improvement. Food quality was great, my steak was cooked to order; shrimp and ribs were hot and delicious. Just needs some improvement in order taking and getting the drinks out as fast as possible. That would make a huge difference in the experience. Ambiance was fine; it was comfortable and the music was decent elevator noise. My go to restaurant for affordable eats and decent food. I come here at least one every other month. My favorite is the frozen drinks with added flavors (really strong). I try something new every time I eat here since there is a decent size menu to choose from. This time I had a salad and it was a HUGE portion. Certain parts of the meal can be a hit and miss such as the sides. The service is always good and the ambiance is busy but still able to enjoy a nice meal out with my fiancé. read more

On 2-18-26 @ 6:20 pm +/- we visited Rego Park location. Had two different sea food dishes. Salmon with shrimp platter and Fish Tacos. Both of us got violently sick. I honestly believe someone from the kitchen added something toxic specifically into our foods. The service was amazing, waitress was polite and efficient. This complaint is solely about the food safety and possible maliciousness of kitchen staff. And honestly, I will make sure that as many parties are aware of this, including media, BBB, Dallas BBQ corporate office (BTW they don't really have a customer corporate contact email, "very convenient" don't you think? Only for media and collaborations). Be careful where you eat. I only hope there are no long-term effects from this poisoning. read more

Each person gets a cup of chicken soup (chicken chunks, potatoes, carrots); cornbread; 1/2 chicken (add $2 for double breast); one side. Dark meat was fine. Found the breast meat dry though, so had to eat with bbq sauce (which was runny). My son asked for honey-basted (addtl $1) which helped keep the chicken moist. Crispy chicken sandwich meal ~$11 tasted alright accdg to my other son. Bacon mac n cheese was ordinary, @~$6.50. No free-refills for fountain drinks. Lots of seating. NOTE the price of non-booze drinks is not shown on the tabletop menu. If you order Angry shrimp, they bring you the Crispy shrimp and sauce. During my college days I loved the Dallas BBQ near my university! it was cheap, filling and delicious! Even though no longer in college and been back a handful of times to this location still feel the same. it's a great deal for good food. Is it possible to rate them less than one star? I had a rib dinner for $25.00. It would be same if I flushed the money in the toilet. You know things are bad when your dog walks away when you offer him one. This was a delivery. Ice cold to boot. I paid for expedited delivery as well. Trying to get the meat off the bone is a trick in itself. Out of a foot long slab of ribs and two inches tall, I was lucky to get five small pieces of meat in my mouth. Not chewable, I spit them out. I used to go to the East Village location as a kid, and in my memory, it was a really good BBQ and large portions of everything. However, after many years, I would say the quality has gone downhill from there (or maybe it is just the Rego Park location?) I ordered a full chicken, which was super dry and small. I ordered a rack of ribs as well, not seasoned at all. If not for the BBQ sauce it was terrible. The bottom layer of ribs was so dry that the meat just stuck on the bone. Where do I start? I ordered half rack of ribs and shrimp with a side of fries. I upgraded for an extra $5 to get beef ribs. I'm only going to rate the food. The rib (yup, one single rib!) was lukewarm but edible. Nothing to rave about. Now onto the worst part: shrimp was below average. While not completely soggy, it was missing the battered crunch. The fries were the worst offender. They looked and felt limp, lifeless, opaque which suggests they soaked up all the grease. Also from the color of the fries I'm pretty sure I can infer they were fried in months-old oil. Finally, the corn bread was dry like Sahara desert. Needless to say I haven't touched half of my meal. Anytime I come to NYC I always have to stop at a BBQs for a good meal and drink. It was me, my daughter and my brothers on a Friday evening like 6pm and it wasn't packed at all yet. Yuck !!!!!! Never again! I went with a friend that wanted ribs. I had a portion of guac with corn chips. I have no idea what was that green mush but was NOT made of avocado. Came here with my family. I really liked the vibe of the restaurant and the presentation of everything, especially the drinks (see photo)! Hospitable staff and our waitress was very nice. However, the baby back ribs and chicken my mum got were dry and they needed more flavor, and while my NY strip steak was cooked very well, some parts of it were rubbery and it definitely needed more seasoning. I think this company needs to revamp their menu to look some what healthier. Green is a good color to start with. Salad is a joke. After months of wheedling and pleading, I finally acquiesced to my boyfriend's demands that we experience Dallas BBQ together. This Rego Park location is conveniently located by Costco, Daiso, Marshall's, Old Navy, and Bed, Bath &Beyond. It's great for knocking out some errand shopping before or after dinner. The aesthetic and vibe here definitely reminds me of a Dave and Buster's. The space seems infinitely large, and was filled with groups of people laughing and having a good time. My boyfriend used to be a regular here so he took charge of the ordering. We ordered 10 pieces of the Texas Sticky Wings, a fan favorite. We paired that with a half rack of the BBQ Baby Back Ribs with corn bread and a side salad. They have an expansive drink menu as well, which includes Pina Coladas for lovers of fruity drinks like me. When the food came out, I was shocked. Everything was SUPERSIZED. The wings were twice the size of average chicken wings. Our platter of ribs was also quite intimidating. Somehow we managed to make a dent in his food as he sipped from his goblet sized Bulldog drink. The wings were AMAZING. Korean fried chicken is one of my favorite things to eat, but these sticky wings are a strong contender. The flavor of the sauce and marinade somehow permeates through every molecule of the wing. With its balanced, honey sweet, slightly savory flavor, each wing left you wanting more. Despite the sauce, the wings retained their gentle crisp. I think these would be a great party dish and look forward to making them in the future. The ribs were not as impressive. They looked slightly anemic compared to the supersized wings. The meat on the bone was lacking and they were grilled well. The color was on the pale side. I didn't like the cornbread either because it was way too soft crumbly. It also lacked the rich buttery flavor that I crave in cornbread. My only other complaint about our visit was the service here. Our waitress was really nice but she didn't bring us any water to start with. We were without water for most of our meal. I tried to ask for water when the food arrived, but though I tried to wave over other waitresses, no one seemed willing to help. Finally, we flagged down our waitress, but it took her another 15 mins to bring water. I don't agree with the practice of not placing water on the table for patrons right away and believe it should be a basic aspect of service. TLDR; Their sticky wings are amazing!!
