My brother, sister, and I had an early dinner at Nippon Cha. The atmosphere was pleasantly serene. The staff was very polite and attentive. For example, they would fill your glass of water without you asking. I'm beginning to learn japanese food terminology, and you can Google any unknown terms yourself, but I found them to be very interesting. As usual, we had a taste of each others dish. 1) First off, we ordered a large order of Yuzuyebasaki fried chicken wings in yuzu sauce. ($18). I loved them, 5 stars. 2) My brother ordered Tochucha Chirashi, basically fresh sashimi including tuna, salmon, yellowtail, scallops, ikura, avocado, oba. ($35). My brother gives the dish 4 stars. I'm not a sashimi person, but I have to give it a yummy 5 stars. 3) My sister ordered Nabe with seafood, cabbage, tofu, mushrooms, and scallions in Tochucha broth. ($28). My sis and I rate this dish 4 stars. 4) I had an Unatama bowl which consisted of eel with boiled egg in tentsuyu sauce, and tochucha rice. ($19). I found the taste of this dish, and any miso soup we had, to be a shade on the salty side. 4 stars. Overall, I recommend this restaurant, and give it a solid 4 stars.
Wow wow wow!!! This restaurant was amazing. I went for New Year's dinner and it wasn't super busy. I got seated immediately. The complimentary tea here is so good; I'm obsessed. I drank at least 10 cups of that tea and the server was so generous and kept refilling my tea cup. The tea ramen was so unique and delicious and I love the tea noodles too! I also got the sashimi appetizer and it was fresh and delicious. And the hamachi appetizer was great too, I loved the spicy bite of jalapeño peppers. After the meal was done and I asked for the check, I was surprised by the dessert and let the server know I didn't order it, but she said it was on the house!! So impressed. And the matcha cakes were epic. Not too sweet, perfect fluffy texture, smooth matcha cream. I want to go back! The space is also beautiful and has a lot of seating.
It's been a couple of years since I've had Nippon Cha so we decided to give them another try on a Sunday evening. At 6pm, diners were already filling up the place for an early dinner. We ordered the gyu-katsu to start along with 2 ramens. The gyu-katsu came first and looked like it was perfectly fried. The outside was crispy and the steak inside was medium to medium rare. The soy jalapeno dipping sauce was nice but a little salty if used too much. After a long while, I found it weird that having ordered within 2 mins after the table next to us, we still had not received our ramens when they were already more than halfway through their meal. When we flagged our waitress down, she realized their mistake and quickly alerted the kitchen to remake our meal. I'm not sure how they managed to lose our order but thinking back, I did see them bring 2 completely untouched ramens from the dining room back into the kitchen, so that made more sense after the fact. I got the negi ramen, which had a spicy pork broth and chasiu. The broth was light and had a hint of spice. The ramen itself was a bit soft and not noteworthy. The kara miso ramen had a spicy chicken broth and was even lighter than the negi. Both ramens were pretty average and nothing spectacular, but I may be biased as I prefer much richer broths and chewy noodles. Overall, I was a bit disappointed by this meal, but still appreciate having this classic ramen / matcha shop on Bell Blvd. If I do return, I would definitely get their curry beef udon again.

I always order the chicken katsu curry and I love the amount of food you get for the price. The chicken is well fried and the curry is flavorful. Service is good and workers are nice. The interior is clean and has a comfortable vibe to it. Would definitely recommend!
One of my go to ramen spots on Bell Blvd. Street parking out front. The staff is always friendly and the restaurant is clean with a big sushi / Japanese menu. Their dessert options are also plentiful. I ordered the spicy miso this visit and throughly enjoyed it. The food has always been amazing. I just had one scoop of matcha icecream to end the meal, lite and enjoy the wooden aesthetics of the interior decor as well. I'll continue to come here often, it remains cozy and enjoyable.

She apologized but it seemed like she was the only one out in the floor for a while! Food was good and came out fast. They used to have like a make your own match thing? We came for lunch on Sunday after church. They were friendly and service was very attentive. Inside was traditional looking with wooden tables and chairs. We got the tonkatsu ramen and the katsu don. The tonkatsu ramen with the tochucha noodle was very good. The broth was full of porky flavor. The noodle texture was dense and not as springy as the plain noodles. There were three large pieces of char sui. It was a solid bowl of ramen. The katsu was pretty typical. The meat was pretty large and the coating was crunchy. The rice was ok. Overall a good experience.
We ordered an variety of different items to try such as the Keisen-Don, Matcha Soba, Chicken Curry Katsu, Assorted sushi set. The seafood was fresh with no funky smell to it, the katsu was crispy, and the matcha Soba had just the slightest hint of matcha flavoring to it but paired very well with the dipping sauce. However, the rice was not our favorite part of the meal because it felt like the chew to it was abit stiff and grainy but overall the meal was very good and unique.
I've always loved ordering takeout from this place, especially for their ramen and rice dishes, but this was my first time dining in for a Monday lunch with a party of three. We had a reservation and were seated right away. The service was good, and the seating was comfortable. The restaurant filled up while we were eating, which shows how popular it is. I tried their sushi for the first time and ordered the keizen don bowl. The raw fish was extremely fresh, the assortment was excellent, and the special tea-flavored seasoned rice added a unique touch. The portion was generous, and I left satisfied. My husband and I stopped by for dinner on a Tuesday night. There was no wait and we were seated immediately. We ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen and King Crab Ikura Don over cold tochucha noodles. I thought the ramen was just mediocre and the chashu was very hard to chew. The noodles was pretty good. There was a good amount of ikura, king crab, and avocado included. I originally wanted the Sashimi Set but they didn't have uni that day. They would have just subbed it with something else so I didn't think it was worth the $55. I also tried the Tochucha Yuzu Lemonade which was good but not amazing. I didn't know what all the hype was over tochucha because it wasn't very memorable for me. Have not been here for a while, now they added more items (sushi) which is delightful. We had beef soba, spicy miso ramen and pork ramen. We also ordered spicy tuna, yellowtail and tempura shrimp sushi. Server was friendly and attentive, food came out quickly. We really enjoyed our lunch today. read more
A serviceable ramen place in Bayside. The tonkotsu ramen was not too flavorable and a bit salty. Also ordered spicy tuna roll. It came with 6 rolls. Other places usually have 8. Rolls were also average. Service was okay. Probably the best ramen place in the area. read more

Nippon Cha Bayside delivers excellent sushi at a great value. I ordered the sushi feast ($55) and was impressed by both the presentation and variety -- from salmon and uni to scallops, eel, roe, and quail egg, every piece was fresh and beautifully prepared. The quality easily rivals some of the expensive omakase experiences in Manhattan, but at a much friendlier price point. Service was attentive and the relaxed atmosphere made it easy to enjoy the meal. For $55, the sushi feast is a fantastic deal and well worth it. read more
Dined here for lunch on a rainy day. My mom ordered the Tochucha Udon and I ordered the curry udon with beef. Shared a spicy tuna roll as an appetizer. I also ordered a matcha with coconut water to go. It was a lot of food so we packed the leftovers. The service, the food and the ambiance are great. Just be mindful it is on the expensive side. Looking for some clean and simple Japanese food in Bell Blvd, look no further! When I want a nice and light meal that isn't too greasy and makes me feel heavy after around bayside, I always visit Nippon Cha. I got the Salmon Mentai Yaki-soba and my boyfriend got the Tochucha Chirashi. The presentable and the taste for both were perfect! The sashimi pieces were so fresh and the yaki-soba was not heavy for a creamy pasta. Not only did we enjoy the food, but the service was also great! This is definitely a spot to check out if you like more simple Japanese foods and they have great matcha desserts as well! read more
I think it's been almost 3 years since I last came to Nippon Cha, so I was excited to get their food again! I had their strawberry matcha, chirashi bowl, eel egg rice bowl, and their matcha tiramisu. Something that I've always liked about their food is that they infuse it with tea, and it was the same for the rice that came with the chirashi. But my favorite was the eel egg bowl! Have been waiting for the Westbury location to open, but it's taking so long! We ended up visiting the Bayside location. Overall 3.5/5. We tried the tochucha ramen and karaage set on a cold winter day. The tochucha ramen noodles and broth all contain tochucha but not weirdly strong, it's good to try their specialty. However the chachu pork in the ramen is dry and lack of flavor. The egg in the ramen is slightly overcooked and also lack of flavor. The karaage set is pretty good, karaage itself is juicy and savory, the set also includes various items. Tipa amount on POS is calculated using after tax amount, which is wrong and misleading. read more
Nippon Cha is a cute ramen / tea spot on Bell Blvd with a nice, relaxing vibe. They also have tea inspired dishes and offer their own tochucha (tea) noodles. I will admit, I do prefer the regular egg noodles in my ramen. We order delivery from here quite a bit. Our favorite is the kara miso chicken ramen. This is our go to local ramen option because I have a seafood allergy and cross contamination isn't an issue here. The food is also always packaged very well and arrives piping hot. I have dined in a couple of times and it's always a pleasant experience. In addition to the ramen, we've tried some of the apps and salads and it never disappoints. The yuzu dressing is especially good. They also offer sushi. read more

Definitely love visiting this restaurant. The food is always good. Bought some sushi and ramen to go today. The rolls were good, spicy tuna has crunch so if you're not a fan of crunch, make sure to ask for none. Haven't made a bad decision with anything I've ordered here. Staff is friendly and the place is clean. One of the better choices on Bell. Will visit again soon! read more

Really nice place for Japanese food, great and attentive service, and a cozy atmosphere. From the authenticity of the food to a wide menu variety to their famous tea noodles, Nippon Cha is a great place to try out! For appetizers, I recommend the Takoyaki. It's crispy with a soft middle and covered in takoyaki sauce, Kewpie mayo, and bonito flakes. The Gyoza was okay, nothing too unique or different, but the Tako Fry (fried octopus) was perfectly fried and adding a squeeze of lemon gave it a nice acidity and freshness to the dish. The Ika maru yaki (grilled squid) was chewier than I would've liked, and Agedashi tofu was okay as well. Their sushi was really good! Both the Sashimi Platter and Sushi Feast had consistently high quality fish. The latter option also had some unique flavor combos as well like yuzu salmon and truffle squid which were among my favorites in addition to the uni. The Dragon Special Roll was decent, but the eel lacked the charcoal/grilled essence and kinda lacked flavor overall. The Spicy salmon roll and Spicy tuna roll were standard, but Nippon Cha's Maki was probably my favorite roll as it contained large pieces of fresh fish inside which you can really appreciate their flavors. As for the hot entrées, the Ribeye Don was pretty good as the meat was cooked and seasoned well and tender. The Tochucha Ramen had perfectly cooked noodles--slightly bouncy and chewy--good portions of pork & toppings, but the egg slightly overcooked and not as runny/jammy. The Unatama don and Unaji were both a bit too sweet and salty for my liking, but overall not bad. Now onto the desserts! The Matcha ice cream had verrrry strong matcha! I really liked it, and it wasn't overly bitter/creamy/sweet! The Matcha Cheesecake had a strong matcha & cheesecake flavor, and I would have liked the graham cracker crust to shine thru more to balance the heaviness of cheesecake. Lastly, the Matcha Tiramisu was very heavy/creamy and had much less matcha flavor than the ice cream or cheesecake. Overall, whether you're craving sushi, ramen, or matcha, Nippon Cha is a lovely place to have Japanese food. It's perfect for a family outing or a date night! I highly recommend trying it out! read more
I really liked this place! I got the cold soba with tempura. It was really filling but i liked the beef udon more! The soba was 25 dollars which is on the pricey side but you get a good amount of food! The food came out really quick and we got here around 7:30. There isnt that many people but a big rush of school kids came right as we were done around 7:55 on a saturday. The a bery cozy place which nice lighting and plenty of tables. Last time I was here I had takeout. I tried eat in this time. I thought it was okay. We had the coconut matcha drink, tochucha chirashi, seafood yaki soba and the uni toro scallop appetizer. The soba was average and had 2 tiny scallops, three large shrimps and one squid ring. The tochucha was good and a nice selection of seafood. The appetizer was the best part. Uni, toro and scallop were excellent. It wasn't fishy. Prices are normal for a sushi place. read more
The food was really good here. We started off with gyoza and tempura which was good. Then we got the ribeye don, king crab unit ikura and tochucha chirashi. Everything was delicious. I ordered the ribeye don and there was a lot of flavor and alot of food. I was very happy I picked this. I can't wait to come back again! read more

Love this spot! Authentic, clean, with lots of options to choose from. Service is friendly and food comes out in a timely manner. Nicely decorated and while it's small in space (being on Bell Blvd.), it doesn't feel cramped. read more
