I love that this place is cute, has Ube drinks that actually taste like Ube (Filipino girlie here)- don't go to Starbucks. Free WiFi, specialty drinks for the win, pastries. It would had been great if there was multiple print copies of the menu so that it doesn't get congested at the register. It's my go to spot in bayside for matcha and hojicha. The Ube and pandan foam are not too overpowering and really compliment the matcha and hojicha. Lately, I've been enjoying the honey rosemary biscuit and the chocolate chip cookie. The cookie is my favorite consistency: it's crunchy edge but chewy middle. Very modern interior, with seating in different places. A lot of folks appeared to be enjoying their order while working on their laptops. Came by early afternoon on a Saturday. Their menu is on the counter right in front of you when you order. Various teas, coffee/espresso options, matcha, and hojicha. I'd never heard of hojicha before seeing it here, so I decided to try their iced strawberry hojicha with almond milk. My partner ordered the iced strawberry matcha latte with almond milk. They also have different kind of pastries. They make the drinks in front of you, always nice to watch establishments put together drinks from scratch. Visually, the drinks were beautiful. Flavor wise, both drinks were lacking the earthy matcha flavor and the nutty flavor I learned that hojicha is supposed to bring. Unfortunately, our drinks tasted pretty watery, not because of the ice either since we drank them right after walking out with our order. However, the strawberry puree they add was delicious, not overly sweet or with that fake sweet flavor, but natural strawberry sweetness and flavor. Paid just under $19 for both drinks with tax. I was around the area, & decide to look on yelp for a quick coffee shop, so I came across off grids common. Ambiance is super chill & it's a cute small coffee shop. You have the option to sit in the coffee shop and get some work done. Service was great, the employees were very sweet & informed of their menu. My partner ordered an ice matcha latte, with coconut milk. It also came with a pump of coconut. The taste was rich & smooth, as I did try it. For myself I ordered an ice caramel latte with coconut milk. I am obsessed with coconut & the coffee was absolutely delicious. It didn't taste sweet, and I love that cause I don't like my coffee too sweet. An amazing fact of this coffee shop is that they also do have their own organic matcha that you can purchase which some places don't have. One comes in a can & the other matcha come in a bag if your into matcha. Unfortunately I did not purchase which I regret ! But when I come back I would definitely purchase! 10/10. There's plenty of seating inside. While fairly minimalistic in design, the seats looked cozy. In the late afternoon on a weekend, there were a lot of customers. The music was probably my favorite part about this cafe; it felt like someone was playing what I call my "sad girl hours" playlist. Really loved the interior here. The interior has such a cozy yet modern vibe that makes it the perfect place to study or catch up with friends! The interior is pretty open, with lots of room between each seating and great seating pieces. I really love the furniture choice here and the mix of lounge-y but also table seating here that gives you the choice to relax alone or sit with friends. As for the drinks, I love that the options of creative specialty options that you wouldn't normally find at cafes. That being said, I did feel that the matcha was a bit less impactful in my opinion. The flavor of the matcha was a bit more subtle than i'd like and am use to, this might be due to maybe using too much milk or maybe just the flavor profile of the matcha itself. I felt the cream also wasn't sweet enough for my taste, I expected it to be sweeter especially as a einspanner type of drink but it was surprisingly more subtle. Cute coffee shop in Bayside with a great atmosphere. I came here on Labor Day and it was moderately busy. The customer service was phenomenal. The workers were passionate about making coffee. I asked if I can get a cold brew with flavored foam and the barista let me try the pandan and ube foam before deciding on which one to get. The ube tasted sweeter and had a stronger flavor whereas the pandan foam tasted lighter and not as sweet. I personally realized that I don't like the sour taste of cold brew and would probably try their hot coffee or Expresso next time but nonetheless the experience was great and the foam tasted really good. Off Grids Common is a cool local café that just recently opened in the past year. It has a nice vibe and the staff are nice. There's plenty of space where people can either do work or just hang out. I love how they focus on Asian flavors. I've gone quite a few times already trying a variety of their Signature drinks and my favorite will have to be the Ube Hojicha. It's not super sweet and it has a perfect mixture of both flavors. They put a good amount of ube cream cold foam on top, so you're not just drinking a regular hojicha latte. Their OG/C Kopi was a miss for me; it was a bit too watery for my liking and I couln't tell that they used condensed milk. The Pandan Matcha Latte was good as well; the pandan flavor was pretty light. For the summer, I tried their Strawberry Matcha and it was refreshing. They have many other drinks and sweets to try and I would love to try them all! read more

I've been here several times now and this has become my go to spot for specialty coffee in Queens. I've had the Pandan Matcha, OGC Kopi, and Ube Hojicha. Ube and pandan flavors usually come out too subtle but you can actually taste the pandan flavor. I didn't care too much for the ube one but I think I'm just not a ube drink person. OGC Kopi is what I usually come for since I love condensed milk as my sweetener and reminds me of southeast Asian coffee. They also offer a rotating variety of baked goods. They used to have Kora cookies but what they have in stock depends on the supplier (I think at the time, Kora was opening up their own bakery and couldn't supply some of the smaller shops). They sometimes also have different flavored rice krispie treats like black sesame and thai tea. The space is very modern, very clean and very quiet. If I was still in school I'd be coming here everyday to get my caffeine fix and study. read more
