Love the decor! Love the ambiance. Went here for a coffee study date with my girl and we were able to grab a seat with outlets. We were on the hunt for a place in flushing that we can go to and not have to rush for seats. Grey cafe is not too far from here but it's always been packed. I love that this place is cute, has Ube drinks that actually taste like Ube (Filipino girlie here)- don't go to Starbucks. Free WiFi, specialty drinks for the win, pastries. It would had been great if there was multiple print copies of the menu so that it doesn't get congested at the register. There is no menu on the wall so I did felt a bit rushed and pressured since it's my first time there as I didn't know what to get. read more

Off Grid Commons is an awesome coffee shop and has a really inviting ambience with plenty of seating, making it ideal for anyone working on the go. I grabbed a flat white for a friend and a cold brew for myself -- both were well made and hit the spot. Since it's basically in my neighborhood, this is definitely a place I'll be coming back to regularly. A strong option if you're looking for coffee and a comfortable place to post up in Bayside. read more

It's my go to spot in bayside for matcha and hojicha. The Ube and pandan foam are not too overpowering and really compliment the matcha and hojicha. Lately, I've been enjoying the honey rosemary biscuit and the chocolate chip cookie. The cookie is my favorite consistency: it's crunchy edge but chewy middle. Love that the chocolate used is quality and dark. read more

Excellent little cafe serving up delicious Asian flavored drinks as well as the classics. Pandan ice latte 9/10 -fresh cold pandan cream on top is amazing. Good pandan flavor. Ube iced latte 8/10 -very good cold foam and it tastes good, just not strong ube flavor. They have a rewards program through text to your phone so you can earn free drinks. Even when they are busy service is fast. It's a small space but it's not a crowded space. read more

Located in between That's a Wrap and a gym, you may walk right by Off Grids Common and not realize, unless you are intentionally looking for it. Very modern interior, with seating in different places. A lot of folks appeared to be enjoying their order while working on their laptops. Came by early afternoon on a Saturday. Their menu is on the counter right in front of you when you order. Various teas, coffee/espresso options, matcha, and hojicha. I'd never heard of hojicha before seeing it here, so I decided to try their iced strawberry hojicha with almond milk. My partner ordered the iced strawberry matcha latte with almond milk. They also have different kind of pastries. They make the drinks in front of you, always nice to watch establishments put together drinks from scratch. Visually, the drinks were beautiful. Flavor wise, both drinks were lacking the earthy matcha flavor and the nutty flavor I learned that hojicha is supposed to bring. Unfortunately, our drinks tasted pretty watery, not because of the ice either since we drank them right after walking out with our order. However, the strawberry puree they add was delicious, not overly sweet or with that fake sweet flavor, but natural strawberry sweetness and flavor. Paid just under $19 for both drinks with tax. Not sure about coming back for another try, but glad to have had the experience. read more

I was around the area, & decide to look on yelp for a quick coffee shop, so I came across off grids common. Ambiance is super chill & it's a cute small coffee shop. You have the option to sit in the coffee shop and get some work done. Service was great, the employees were very sweet & informed of their menu. My partner ordered an ice matcha latte, with coconut milk. It also came with a pump of coconut. The taste was rich & smooth, as I did try it. For myself I ordered an ice caramel latte with coconut milk. I am obsessed with coconut & the coffee was absolutely delicious. It didn't taste sweet, and I love that cause I don't like my coffee too sweet. An amazing fact of this coffee shop is that they also do have their own organic matcha that you can purchase which some places don't have. One comes in a can & the other matcha come in a bag if your into matcha. Unfortunately I did not purchase which I regret ! But when I come back I would definitely purchase! 10/10. Overall I enjoyed this place a lot and I would come here again! read more

Off Grids is one of those rare spots that nails both aesthetic and substance. I came in for a quick treat and left genuinely impressed. The Nutella banana bread was moist, rich, and just sweet enough--perfect balance of banana flavor with the indulgence of Nutella swirled in. The iced cold brew with ube cold foam was the star. Smooth, strong coffee balanced by that creamy, subtly sweet ube foam on top--it looked beautiful and tasted even better. The iced hojicha latte was earthy, lightly roasted, and refreshing--definitely for tea lovers who want something unique but not overpowering. Service was excellent--staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and didn't rush. They made solid recommendations and genuinely seemed happy to be there. read more

I have found the best matcha latte in Bayside! This cafe is quiet and cozy, perfect for a nice drink or a study session. I ordered the Pandan matcha latte and was taken aback by how delicious it was. The Pandan cold foam was heavenly and was esthetically pleasing with its bright green color. The service here is quick and friendly. I can't wait to try all of the different matcha variations they have. read more

Loved the vibes of this cafe and the many drink options! I'd love to come again and try out their Pandan drinks. I got the Hojicha Strawberry Fizzy, which vaguely tasted like a Coke/Dr. Pepper - I've never thought to have a seltzer drink with Hojicha but the nutty taste grew on me! read more

There's plenty of seating inside. While fairly minimalistic in design, the seats looked cozy. In the late afternoon on a weekend, there were a lot of customers. The music was probably my favorite part about this cafe; it felt like someone was playing what I call my "sad girl hours" playlist. I ordered an Iced Americano, not one of the best I've had but not the worst. I think it was a bit acidic. There were some unique drinks on the menu, so I might return to try them. read more

Finally a new cafe with plenty of space to hang and relax or do some work. Offering a rotating menu that can change according to the season and the mood. Lattes, ube cookies, and horjicha latte to name a few of my top choices. Space is clean and cozy with comfortable seating. Service is quick and you can tell the barista makes it with a passion. Although space to find parking can be hard, it not impossible if you really try looking around the neighborhood. Public bus is on northern blvd and walkable. read more

Really loved the interior here. The interior has such a cozy yet modern vibe that makes it the perfect place to study or catch up with friends! The interior is pretty open, with lots of room between each seating and great seating pieces. I really love the furniture choice here and the mix of lounge-y but also table seating here that gives you the choice to relax alone or sit with friends. As for the drinks, I love that the options of creative specialty options that you wouldn't normally find at cafes. That being said, I did feel that the matcha was a bit less impactful in my opinion. The flavor of the matcha was a bit more subtle than i'd like and am use to, this might be due to maybe using too much milk or maybe just the flavor profile of the matcha itself. I felt the cream also wasn't sweet enough for my taste, I expected it to be sweeter especially as a einspanner type of drink but it was surprisingly more subtle. Overall, great ideas for drinks and loved the interior but might just not be for me. read more

Great new cafe in bayside with plenty of seating variety. Aesthetic space to work with wifi and outlets. Matchaful matcha and Hojicha. I usually am not in the mood for Hojicha but the Hojicha Ube had the perfect amount of sweetness and I now find myself craving it. I did feel like the Ube flavor wasn't very pronounced so that's a bummer. I regret not grabbing a coconut butter mochi because their pastries seem to sell out quick. I wish this wasn't so far from me :'( read more

Cute coffee shop in Bayside with a great atmosphere. I came here on Labor Day and it was moderately busy. The customer service was phenomenal. The workers were passionate about making coffee. I asked if I can get a cold brew with flavored foam and the barista let me try the pandan and ube foam before deciding on which one to get. The ube tasted sweeter and had a stronger flavor whereas the pandan foam tasted lighter and not as sweet. I personally realized that I don't like the sour taste of cold brew and would probably try their hot coffee or Expresso next time but nonetheless the experience was great and the foam tasted really good. Recommend to give them a try! read more

Off Grids Common is a cool local café that just recently opened in the past year. It has a nice vibe and the staff are nice. There's plenty of space where people can either do work or just hang out. I love how they focus on Asian flavors. I've gone quite a few times already trying a variety of their Signature drinks and my favorite will have to be the Ube Hojicha. It's not super sweet and it has a perfect mixture of both flavors. They put a good amount of ube cream cold foam on top, so you're not just drinking a regular hojicha latte. Their OG/C Kopi was a miss for me; it was a bit too watery for my liking and I couln't tell that they used condensed milk. The Pandan Matcha Latte was good as well; the pandan flavor was pretty light. For the summer, I tried their Strawberry Matcha and it was refreshing. They have many other drinks and sweets to try and I would love to try them all! read more

I've been here several times now and this has become my go to spot for specialty coffee in Queens. I've had the Pandan Matcha, OGC Kopi, and Ube Hojicha. Ube and pandan flavors usually come out too subtle but you can actually taste the pandan flavor. I didn't care too much for the ube one but I think I'm just not a ube drink person. OGC Kopi is what I usually come for since I love condensed milk as my sweetener and reminds me of southeast Asian coffee. They also offer a rotating variety of baked goods. They used to have Kora cookies but what they have in stock depends on the supplier (I think at the time, Kora was opening up their own bakery and couldn't supply some of the smaller shops). They sometimes also have different flavored rice krispie treats like black sesame and thai tea. The space is very modern, very clean and very quiet. If I was still in school I'd be coming here everyday to get my caffeine fix and study. read more

This just opened and replaced my favorite Curbside bubble tea spot. I liked what they did with the place. It was pretty full of people on their laptops when I went on a Saturday morning. I ordered the ube foam hojicha latte and it was pretty delicious! Not too sweet and you can still taste nutty flavor from the hojicha. I haven't tried anything else but I have gone back twice for this latte haha. Cute place to study or catch up with a friend. Highly recommend! read more

Easily my favorite coffee spot recently! My regular orders here are the oat latte & espresso tonic (highly recommend- it is so refreshing!) I find most spots in the area have watered down lattes, but I have not experienced that here. My lattes always come out with the perfect balance of espresso flavor and creaminess. They also have a small variety of matcha and hojicha drinks, which I look forward to trying. It is a cozy space if you need a place to work and there are outlets available. read more

I had an iced strawberry matcha- not enough strawberry and sticker shock when it was over $8. Damn. Way too expensive.

Seems like a pretty cool spot only downside is it feels cramped in there and is almost always full of people so I just got my drinks to go. Price is on higher side but reasonable in my opinion. The worker was nice. read more

Small section for baked goods and a nice list of drinks. There's a lot of people working on their laptops so not a lot of free seats. We ordered Ube hojicha latte, hot hojicha latte, and matcha strawberry yuzu fizz. The hojicha smells really good when they're making it and it's smooth and earthy. The matcha strawberry yuzu fizz was really good. It's a little sweet from the strawberry but super light from the yuzu and it's fizzy. I'd definitely go back for the matcha strawberry yuzu fizz. Off Grids Common is a true hidden gem for coffee and matcha lovers alike. From the moment you walk in, the vibe is warm, minimal, and effortlessly cool--perfect for a quiet morning ritual or an afternoon recharge. I tried both the espresso and the matcha, and they absolutely nailed it. The coffee is smooth, rich, and clearly crafted with care--no bitterness, just bold, clean flavor. The matcha is just as impressive: vibrant, earthy, and perfectly whisked. Not too sweet, not too grassy--just right. Owner is amazing ! read more
