I was on my way to Jersey & stop by queens for a quick coffee. Came across Grey Cafe & wow I was impressed. The ambiance was super chill & laid back. It was pretty spacious, they have two sections for you to sit & get some work done. I love the aesthetic of the coffee shop. Service was amazing, they were so friendly & they gave great customer service. They barista was also super sweet & told me to try my coffee, if I didn't like it they were able to re make it for me. Which was so sweet for him to do, the drink came out perfect though! My order was an ice caramel macchiato, with oatmilk & cold foam. It tasted so good, it wasn't sweet at all which I loved. What jumped out at me the moment I stepped into GREY Cafe, is the diversity of people I saw sitting quietly on their laptops as well as the ones waiting in line to place orders. The scene told me this was a safe space to be, get some work done, and the food/drinks must have been good enough to attract people of different backgrounds. With that out of the way, here's my actual review. I got a matcha latte with coconut milk and a brownie. I loved the variety of non-dairy options they had for milks (as well as snacks)! They used health conscious brands so I could see that some real thought was put into the offerings. The matcha tasted like real matcha and had no clumps! The temperature was just right, hot but not scalding where you'd have to wait a while before drinking. They have raw brown sugar packets if you want to sweeten the drinks yourself. The brownie was soft, chocolatey, and not overly sweet. They offer to warm it up if you like. They have a restroom towards the back. The staff were all friendly and also diverse! 9.5/10 all around experience. This was a very pleasant surprise and I will definitely come back to try more things! read more

Good service and the espresso drinks are solid. You can have your laptop on and WiFi is great. They have pastries and sandwiches. It's chill to work here. Outdoor seating is available but it's still too cold during March. I'll be nice to seat outside when getting warmer. It gets busy at the afternoon so you might not find a seat. I can't believe I've never given this place a review. My job literally orders from here at least once a week. They got the best espresso and matcha drinks. My favorite is the Brown Sugar Oat Freddo. I love when I can taste the roastiness of the beans. I've also had their homemade puddings (all the flavors are delicious) and the macaroons. Today prompted my review. First thing I noticed, and you can tell my age by this comment, is though they had music on, it was not any kind of loud rap or heavy bass music and it was so refreshing. Five stars for just this alone haha! The Cafe was packed at 9pm on a Saturday night. The woman behind the counter were friendly and helpful and the man who made my drinks was quick and efficient.. I liked that they did not have an extensive menu which makes things easier when deciding, and it's great that they also had sandwiches along side muffins, cake slices etc. A large iced mocha frappe, chicken salad sandwich, large hot cappuccino and a double chocolate chip muffin cost ~ $30, which is in line with prices in the area. I tried this cafe for a first date but I wish we met somewhere else. It was packed with only 2 high top wooden seats left. It was hot outside and I don't think any AC or fan was on. This place is always filled with students no matter what time and day...I don't get it. I've been here a few times now and their signature Grey Foam Latte (latte with black sesame foam) is usually my go-to, though it's pretty heavy but so worth coming for. I've only come during warmer months so haven't experienced the hassle of finding a seat indoors since I sit outside, though without a fail, the seats are usually filled up by students on their laptops in masses. They have extensive seating outside with a built outdoor seating area, though the bus stop in front can be super distracting and unpleasant to breathe. Cold brew is also nice and bold for a caffeine boost. Even though it's deep out in Queens, their prices are on the expensive side and you can expect to pay close to $10 for an iced drink with some milk variation. read more

There is a section that is only for 4+ ppl, there is the common area with lots of seating, there are couple of tables for two outside the coffee shop, and there is a booth for large outdoor seating with a blowing fan so that people dont die of the heat The coffee was alright but worth it since i came here to chill and enjoy the free wifi, there is free wifi btw! Rating : 3.5 I don't remember how I found this Grey cafe but I went there the first time in 2022. This place is not like the cafe that I imagined it would be. It seems more like a cafe for youngsters to hang out and study. There are many tables and seats inside and it's always full of people. It makes me feel like I'm in a cafe inside a college/campus lol. I only go for their puddings and some pastries. My favorite is Tiramisu puddings and almond croissants. They are so good. Matcha puddings are a hit or miss. Sometimes they are good and other times they're too sweet. Staff are attentive and polite. I like it when they offer a promotion for gift cards. I don't know if they always offer that but if they do, make sure you get it because it's a good deal. Still one of my favorite coffee shops, but I've spent more time there as of late to study. It is a POPULAR study spot! There's plenty of seating but it can be hard to find a spot! There is an area for 4+ people, I usually only come here alone or with one other person but it is nice they have that as an option. Otherwise, there are plenty of tables intended for 2 people in the main area. There is ample seating outdoors as well, they have two tented areas as well. There's a decent amount of outlets available in the main cafe area, but only if you're sitting at the perimeter. The wifi is also great, no issues there. As far as drinks go - the hazelnut latte with oat milk remains my favorite hazelnut latte... maybe even of all time. Still rating a 5/5! I don't know what's so good about it but whatever they're doing is right. I have tried a few more drinks: Matcha latte - 4.5/5 - my matcha latte was rich and fresh, I was pleased! seems like good quality matcha, although I'm not an expert but it was good for my taste. It doesn't help that finding parking here is pretty tricky, even around the residential areas away from Northern. Personally, one thing that makes this place worth a visit is their amazing puddings! Banana is probably my favorite and I'm happy to say that I've yet to have purchased a bad or old batch (knock on wood). Came here to have some quiet time and focus. It has a school vibe because all you see are school/college kids and very few adults with their heads buried in laptops. They have many outlets along the walls for you to plug up your electronics. There is an upstairs for those that are on a group of 4 or more. The Cafe itself is a little pricey (more than Starbucks) but I think it's fair since most of the kids are using their electricity for hours at a time and probably only buy a limited amount of things. We were looking for a cafe after attending a standup comedy show and we picked this as it closes later that the others in the neighborhood. We were surprised that the place was full packed when we walked in on a late hour of the night. Both floors were occupied mostly by I think students- age coffee drinkers who during the visit were all glued with their laptops. We still decided to stay and went to the covered outdoor patio. Loved how our order was taken seriously by asking so many questions like " what kind of coffee , with what kind of sugar or not , what milk do you want to add, do you want a warmed up or room temp desserts " etc. Order is served quick with a great smile from the server. That's the only downside. If it weren't for the noise level, this cafe would be perfect to work in. I have been coming to Grey Cafe for almost 5 years. It's always been my go to spot, Until today. I went in to get my usual order, and was shocked to learn my drink jumped from 6.50 to 8.17! I understand times are tough and prices are going up everywhere, but a dollar 67 increase within 1 week, and no notice whatsoever? 6.50 was already a lot for a medium tea, but I sucked it up cause I loved it.
