pretty authentic experience and excellent lunch omakase menu and price. The chefs are professional and clean and introduced each course when requested. Each piece was very flavorful and had a unique flair. Would come back again and maybe book the room. Also loved that the ginger were cubes not the regular slices.

I personally think that this omakase spot is fantastic, better than a lot of the recent slew of omakase spots that opened in Manhattan. But don't expect it to be Michelin quality, because it ain't that either. For the price of $109 for 16 pieces is very reasonable. This spot is located on the top level of the One Fulton Plaza, so take that elevator to the top level (or climb several flights of stairs). The interior is done quite nice, which makes this a great date night spot or just to get together with your friends. There was a group of women before our reservation that killed several sake bottles and looked like they had the best of times. There was a handful of classic pieces and then there were some unique ones that I have never been served at an omakase before, which is great to see. At a lot of omakase spots, the chef had the fishes precut and just slap the rice, seasoning, and garnish, but here, they cut each fish (or wagyu) fresh from the block in front of you. The sushi chef himself was personable and great to interact with. The business owner was also around and gave out some free shots of sake to try, which was some of the smoothest sake I've had. Only complaint here is that both of the bathrooms were backed up and did not flush. Will save you the disgusting details. I hope they got those issues solved by now.

Delicious upscale Omakase restaurant in Flushing! We came here to celebrate Valentine's Day and had a great time. The restaurant is designed very well and has great aesthetics. Similar to the design of great omakase restaurants in Manhattan. We had 2 options to choose from between the 16 course omakase for $109 vs the 15 course premium omakase for $159. Although the more expensive option has less pieces, they are supposed to be more premium ingredients. Nevertheless, we went with the $109 option because still a lot of the premium pieces like Toro w/ Caviar and A5 Wagyu and Sweet Shimp with Uni. We were not disappointed! My favorite piece was the Toro w/ Caviar, and I got another one a la carte afterwards to finish off my meal prior to dessert. The dessert was match ice-cream with mochi and mango, and it was delish! The servers were very attentive and kept the table clean and the drinks topped off. The omakase chef was very friendly and we enjoyed a nice conversation with him. He also was able to make accommodations if you had allergies, or wanted to adjust the taste. I would definitely recommend this place, and I would come back for sure. Not sure if I would try the premium menu since I thought the $109 option was already really good. So glad we found such a good omakase place without having to travel into the city.

No need to trek to the East Village for great omakase anymore--this spot brings that same quality right to Queens. The seating wraps around the chef so everyone gets seated at the chef's table. Every piece was beautifully constructed --so delicious! Great for a date night

Omi omakase had such a nice ambiance - definitely more upscale and a place you would want to bring a date or for an anniversary! It reminded me of omakase places that you would go to in Japan! The crab was super fresh and sweet! The jelly sauce was such a nice compliment to the sweet crab! Chawanmushi was sooo delicious! It's light and fluffy and has a hint of truffle oil and is delicious! Their salmon with foie gras was also delicious!! It's so buttery and creamy! The tuna with truffle was also divine! I am usually not a fan of tuna because of the fishy taste, but I would highly recommend the tuna with truffle! The ginger is also surprisingly tasty! It's not like other stores' ginger The scallop from hokkaido is delicious! It's so soft and tender and also tastes so sweet - it brings me back to Japan! The shrimp and uni was also delicious! The shrimp and uni both were naturally sweet and not fishy at all! The uni melts in your mouth! There's finally a great omakase place in flushing! The handroll was also a burst of flavors and tasted amazing! The omakase chef also has 30 years of experience and it shows through his skill!

Made a reservation for lunch on a weekday since it tends to get pretty crowded for the dinner slots. The chef was very knowledgeable and friendly and never hesitated to answer any questions we had regarding the fish. They had a set amount of courses and each one was very tasty and fresh. They have a drink menu as well that had lots of options. The yuzu sake was sweet without tasting too strong. The interior is nicely decorated with that minimalistic look while also making it feel cozy.

This is a restaurant deserving of repeat. Little bit of a hole in the wall. Opened only 8 months ago. Food is FRESHHHHHH! Chef was attentive. Lunch is $69 and $109 for dinner tasting course. They also have 5 private tatami rooms as well. Food is center stage and on point! Ambiance is mellow, soft music in the background. Can't wait to go back and try dinner service. Gonna bring others!

The art of omakase is revealed through careful craftsmanship and seasonal focus at NYC's newest omakase restaurant. Experience the art of sushi, where modern culinary artistry is rooted in tradition and elevated fine dining -- highlighted by a signature moment featuring delicate sprays of edible gold. Each course is thoughtfully crafted using premium fish sourced from Japan and around the world. A 16-course journey at $109, where every detail matters and the experience is truly on another level. Reserve ahead recommended. Follow me @foodie.elite on IG and Tiktok for more great finds!

$159pp The set feels very safe and doesn't try to be experimental. I feel betrayed by all the 5 stars reviews. If I can return back in time, I would have chosen the $109pp instead. Sushi OK. Service OK, they keep your teas always refill to the brim! Not much to say............................ . . . .

12pcs lunch

Met up with friends for an omakase lunch. I didn't like the first dish -- my oyster and conch didn't taste as fresh, although my two friends said theirs were fine. Overall, it wasn't too bad for the price: 12 pieces for $69 per person. The service was great, and the head chef was very friendly and talkative. However, the rice was a bit loose, and a couple of pieces fell apart.

Been here twice and will probably return again. It's one of the better omakase I've had, definitely the top 5. I love that they offer a good omakase without having to go to Manhattan. Each piece was unique and the variety was delightful. I don't care for the gold sparkles but I think it's innovative to offer it for people to post about. Ambience was cozy and relaxed, servers were attentive, chefs don't use too many interactions with us other than introducing the piece but that's our preference anyway so I'd say they read the room right.

Menu

Leading up to my reservation at Omi, I had high hopes that Flushing was finally getting a top-notch Omakase spot. Sadly, I left feeling more let down than a kid whose ice cream just hit the pavement. Here's why: The venue was charming, and the décor screamed "date night perfection." But despite the ambiance, the experience fell flat. At $109 for a 16-course Omakase dinner, the price was on par with Manhattan, but the service and quality were more "meh" than marvelous. The sushi, while edible, was largely forgettable, mainly because four of the courses were obliterated by an overzealous wasabi attack. We usually expect a gentle wasabi burn, but this was more like a wasabi smack in the face. When we asked about it, we were told it was the chef's standard prep. Apparently, the chef would have made us new pieces sans wasabi bomb if we hadn't already eaten them (we typically one bite our sushi). So, we were supposed to spit out the sushi upon realizing the wasabi overload? Our taste buds simply couldn't recover!!! The other twelve courses were a mixed bag, with some highlights like the toro and dessert, and others that were just... there. To add to the chaos, the staff's organizational skills were lacking. Despite our reservation for a private room, we were seated at the sushi bar. I had to whip out my reservation receipt like a magic trick to get our private room. At this price, we expected better food and service. Unfortunately, both were as absent as a cat at a dog show.

Kumamoto oyster

Omi Omakase just opened in Flushing, and it's already one of the best hidden gems I've tried recently. The atmosphere is quiet, minimal, and very calming--perfect for focusing on the food. The meal starts with a Kumamoto oyster topped with quail egg, scallion, salmon roe, and a yuzu jelly at the bottom. You mix it together before eating, and the freshness really wakes up your palate. Next was the chawanmushi with white truffle, cherry sweet shrimp, and bottarga powder--smooth, fragrant, and layered with umami. Then came the deep-sea Greeneye fish, clean and tender with no fishiness at all. From there, the progression of dishes felt very thoughtful: * Kanpachi or madai sashimi, very fresh and delicate * Tuna with truffle, luxurious and aromatic * Shima aji, toro with caviar, kinmedai * Ocean trout with foie gras (a bold surf-and-turf bite) * Sawara or squid, Hokkaido scallop, Miyazaki A5 wagyu with truffle salt * Sweet shrimp with Hokkaido uni, grilled eel The highlights for me were definitely the wagyu and the toro handroll with ikura--rich, flavorful, and very satisfying. Dessert was a light cheesecake, a perfect way to finish. The full omakase is 16 courses for $109, which is honestly a fantastic value considering the quality of ingredients (truffle, foie gras, wagyu, uni, caviar). Overall, Omi Omakase feels refined yet approachable, with a well-paced menu that builds flavor gradually. Definitely worth visiting if you're in Flushing and looking for a high-quality sushi experience.

I arrived at 6pm and there were a few customers already dining, by the time it was 7pm, it was almost full. Was in a nice group who, like me, enjoys a place with great food. We started with soft shell crabs, edemame, chicken katsu, gyoza, and lots of drinks. Peter, our bartender, was awesome. As you will see in my photos, he can make some well adorned drinks and he is a nice guy as well. I pretty much stuck to a smooth Nigori Sake they stock. I chose the omakase dinner which was fabulous. The sushi is very fresh and it just keeps on coming. Meanwhile Felicia, our server, was constantly checking in to see if everything is going well. She had a easy going quality about her, and very calm and smooth in bringing our meals. This turned out to be quite a nice night. Wabi Nori is a great date place, or a place to bring a family. I would certainly return for the quality of everything, atmosphere, service and food!!!

We tried Kaizen before and the quality/atmosphere is very similar so they probably have the same suppliers and maybe even same owners just rebranding. We ordered 2 mixed drinks from happy hour and they were fine but very sweet and not much alcohol. We also got the 6 handroll combo that came with spicy tuna, salmon, yellowtail, scallop, crab and lobster. I asked for less rice but the waitress said they don't put a lot of rice so I let it be. It was A LOT of rice. We also couldn't taste the difference between the rolls because all the fish was super chopped up and heavily seasoned so everything was mushy and tasted the same. Although service was good, we won't be back and can't recommend this spot :(

We are very familiar with the area and must have walked passed this neatly tucked away gem without ever noticing it. Our son had mentioned that he and his friends have been going to a sushi place near Asian Jewel, our former dim sum go to place. When we sat down to order, my wife and I were quite impressed by how clean and cozy the restaurant was. Kind of on the small side with a few tables on the ground floor level. The menu offered cooked food as well as fresh sushi. We decided to start with the sushi & sashimi combo. They also offered a sushi or sashimi a la carte menu where you can choose to order by the piece. I believe that if you choose one of their standard menu sushi or sashimi orders and pay with cash, the a la carte price per piece of sushi / sashimi is only $1.35 / piece! Well we were famished and in addition to the sushi & sashimi plate we ordered two rounds of sushi & sashimi a la carte. Their salmon and yellow tail was so fresh and so scrumptious as was the sweet shrimp. The tuna was also very yummy and did not disappoint! When all was said and done we were quite happy with our experience with Yoi Sushi Japanese. I highly recommend Yoi if you're anywhere near Tangram Mall or Asian Jewel and have a hankering for yummy sushi. They also offer cooked food as well as ramen bowls.

Ofc got a good variety of food from hot food to sushi and sweets. Hot food: -fried shu mai was nice and hot with a very thin wrapper so got that nice brittle crunch -sirloin was juicy -fried oyster was also really decent -eggplant tempura crunchy outside and nice and soft in the inside. Perfect texture since sometimes the eggplant is not soft enough imo Sushi: Their sashimi slices seem to got thinner but that's fine cuz we can order more. Yellowtail, salmon, and white tuna was supppper delish. White tuna will be my go to here now. The sushi rolls and nigiri were good too. Love the rice to fish ratio here since other ayce spams rice. Dessert: Jasmine milk pudding- this was more like Jasmine milk tea with pudding topping, but the tea was actually really floral. We all liked it.
