When I step into the restaurant ,I feel a sense of warmth and familiarity. The tables comfortably spaced to give diners room to breathe and relax. The noodle soup was great--a huge portion and really tasty. We will definitely be back because of the great service.

New place in the neighborhood, wanted to try it. We got take out hot pots and the fried chicken. The hot pot soups are so close to being perfect, they should reduce it more so it's more flavorful but the flavor profile is there. I ordered thru fantuan and there was no option for spicier but I think the fish sour cabbage soup woulda been even better a little spicier. Fried chicken is pretty good too but also could have a touch more flavor to be perfect. Don't care for the sweet honey mustard sauce it comes with. Will probably try this place again but there is room for improvement too :) hope they get more business

We stopped in for a quick dinner on a Saturday night and were glad we did. We ordered the braised pork rice bowl and the fish with sour cabbage noodles. The braised pork was basically pork belly over rice with their sauce on it, and it was very flavorful and great for the price. The fish dish was also flavorful but a little peppery. Service was good, and the food came out quickly. We'll be back.

The restaurant has crisp white tablecloths, and the bathroom is always spotless and well maintained. It's a comfortable and inviting place to enjoy a nice dinner. The entire staff has always been attentive, courteous, and welcoming. Tonight, we had Johnny, Alex, and Miki, who worked very well together. Everything flowed seamlessly, and they made us feel truly valued and well taken care of. The food is consistently good, as are the drinks. Tonight, we shared a House Mule, which was refreshing, delicious, and a great way to start our meal. For dinner, I had the Crunchy Seafood Fried Rice without XO sauce and the Buddha's Claypot, a vegetable dish. Hubby had the General Tso Chicken. All three dishes were flavorful, satisfying, and well prepared. I even had some of the fried rice left over to take home for tomorrow! Once again, we left happy. That's exactly why we keep coming back to Moonstone.

Two friends and I went to dinner at Suko Restaurant on Middle Neck Road. When we arrived, I asked if we could sit outside, and the owner had no problem with that. While we were enjoying our meal, one of my friends mentioned that the edamame needed a little more salt. Seeing the owner outside, I politely asked if we could have some salt. To my shock, he suddenly started yelling at me and told me that I was being rude. At first, I thought he was joking, so I responded, "Can you imagine how rude I am to my husband?" His response was completely inappropriate and offensive. He said that if he were my husband, he would slap me on my behind over and over again in a sensual manner and that I would enjoy every moment of it. My friends and I were absolutely stunned. When I asked him to stop and bring us the check, he then said that "you Jews always give me problems." A few minutes later, after I told the waitstaff that I intended to share my experience on GN Mommies, he came over with hot sake to apologize. He even offered to refund our meal, but I declined. I don't want anything from someone who makes hateful remarks about Jews. After living in Great Neck for 40 years, I have never experienced anything like this. As a Jewish resident, I was deeply offended by both the inappropriate sexual comments and the anti-Semitic remark. I will never set foot in this restaurant again.

LOL Yes this place is a solid spot for noodles in soup. The manager welcomed us in English, Taiwanese and Cantonese. He's one funny guy and full of personality. You should stop by just to meet him! We were speaking in multi dialects and he didn't miss a beat. The restaurant is less crowded on a weeknight but come Friday thru Sunday, it's a packed house. Simple yet flavorful noodle dishes with good protein options, think beef brisket (which is what I chose), fish, tofu, or chicken. As for the small plates/appetizers, there were a few options that are good for sharing. We got the shrimp skewers and pumpkin cakes. Shrimp skewers had a hint of cumin and spices, shell on. I'm allergic but I'm hearing it was good. I really enjoyed the pumpkin pancake with the red bean filling. Yummy. Nice mouth feel and it was just slightly crispy. The beef brisket noodles I ordered were in a tomato broth. The tomato broth was slightly on the sweeter side. It was very light and not very acidic. The brisket was tender and the portion was fair. My friend ordered the beef tripe with the original broth; it's a much lighter bone broth. It was really silky and opaque. Totally recommend and oh, you can ask for a refill on noodles for all that broth! It's complimentary. What a deal!!

Let me backtrack. My wife and I arrived exactly at 12:06 PM on a weekday. The staff greeted us warmly, the place was clean and organized just like I remembered, and yes, they have high chairs for the little ones. Unfortunately, the food was a different story. Usually with AYCE, there's at least one or two dishes that make you think, "Yep, I'm going back for this." Here, nothing really stood out as delicious. They have some interesting creations, including sushi made with pesto rice, and many rolls have a Western-fusion twist. Creative? Definitely. Delicious? Not quite there for me. The hot food was okay, although some of the fried items were aggressively salty. I thought, "Let me cleanse my palate with some warm miso soup." NOPE. That was salty too. The bulgogi and kalbi were also noticeably on the sweeter side. The Korean-style wings had soggy skin. Then came the raw oyster. It did not taste fresh at all. I took half a bite, swallowed some, and immediately knew something was wrong. I had to spit out the rest. The unfreshness hit me faster than a New Yorker rushing for the subway. I spent the next hour praying I wouldn't get KO'd in the bathroom. Unfortunately, prayer was not answered. And this was my first meal of the day, so I'm pretty confident it wasn't anything else I ate beforehand. We tried to end lunch on a sweet note with the strawberry ice cream. Sadly, it tasted very artificial. At this point, I was just looking for something, ANYTHING, to redeem the meal. And the winner of the day was... The GREEN TEA in a tea bag. Seriously. That was the thing I genuinely enjoyed the most. I really wanted to love this revisit, but between the underwhelming food and the oyster experience that sent me on an unexpected bathroom adventure, I'm giving Mizumi 2 stars. Maybe it was just an off day, but I'm not sure my stomach is brave enough for a sequel.

But what missed the mark for me was the "room for improvement" on a few things. The ramen was decent, broth was not packing enough umami for me. The extra noodle portion was ample. Overall the ramen just lacked that oomph factor but it's a decent noodle soup otherwise. The other item was the poke bowl we ordered. It sounded great on the menu but arrived a bit disappointing. The bowl was only half full and skimpy on the rice and ingredients in general. While it offers so many choices and includes a variety of items in three categories - it doesn't justify the portion. I believe you get more at standard poke place. Now onto my sashimi deluxe. It came with a bowl of rice but not with miso soup. I realized it when I got the bill. Many places have entrees that come with soup or salad (my bad for assuming). Overall food was good so no complaints there. I just wished the proportion was to par. On that note, I've ordered from them many times for home delivery and they are very good with packaging and delivery times. Despite my rating on this visit, it's still a solid spot to dine in.

Bonchon faces stiff competition in the Bayside area. At one time they were the only "game in town" Now there are other Chain and Mom and Pop Korean fried chicken places popping up everywhere giving them competition. The soy garlic wings are still my favorite flavor as they deliver that sweet and savory crunch. What has got me baffled is the size of the wings which have drastically shrunk. It's like that 80's movie "Honey, I shrunk the kids!" In this case, the wings! As a longtime Bonchon fan. I also question whether my fix justifies the cost as generous portion sizes are no longer the norm, but the prices have gone completely off the rails. Bonchon also decided to phase out and limit its chicken promotions. Bonchon's culinary strengths remain intact though. The double fried chicken retains its iconic crunch, and the soy garlic sauce continues to strike a perfect balance of savory and sweet. I'm afraid Bonchon's pivot toward premium pricing and away from generous promotions reflects a challenging balancing act and risks alienating it's fan base. Come on Bonchon! Do the right thing. Bring back generous portions and reduced prices! Make Korean fried chicken great again! "MKFCGA" :)
