I've passed by little dumpling many a times being enticed by the cute dumpling logo and today I went. It certainly lived up to my hopes. The servers are friendly. The place is very clean. We had to order a dumpling and a noodle dish to celebrate the lunar new year; and with how delicious these noodles were I hope they bring me longevity to come back for more. We got pork soup dumplings, wontons in the chili peanut butter sauce, and Shanghai style udon noodles. The udon noodles were some of the best I had. Such a simple dish but the noodles had a perfect chew to it and the savory sauce clung to the noodles so well. I kinda wished the wontons had a bit more spice to them but I probably could've just asked for some extra chili oil. But the wonton skin on them was thin enough to not be overpowering to the filling while still holding up to the sauce. The soup dumplings too the perfect dumpling skin. I haven't been here in a while but I used to come quite often. The food is still delicious and the service is just as good as I remember. There are some parking spaces right out front and parking behind the restaurant as well. There's a decent amount of seating there but it can fill up quickly . They only take reservations for large parties. The food is amazing. Authentic Chinese cuisine. The soup dumplings are delicious. The Young Chow Fried Rice is very good as well. I have come here for the past 6 years since I've lived and moved to Little Neck/Douglaston area. This was my go to soup dumplings place and their beef noodle soup is my favorite. My wife also loved the soup. We order from this location every month or every couple months and definitely utilize the valpak coupon that comes in the mail. Today, however will be my last time eating at this establishment. We ordered for pick up like we normally do, 2 spicy beef noodles, 1 sesame chicken, and fried dumplings. The food was good, but to my surprise as I was eating my beef noodle which I have had countless times. I felt something hard in my mouth... as I was trying to figure out what it was I spat it out eventually because it was definitely not chewable. It was a clipped fingernail!!! FINGERNAIL!!! This is just plan gross!! As soon as I found out, I called them, I believe the lady at the register and answers the phone is Helen, who offered a refund or she could make another replacement for that ONE noodle. We didnt want a replacement for anything. Keep in mind my wife ordered the same thing, she no longer had appetitie to eat her noodle soup. We requested that we bring back all the food and get a full refund, which we did. She stated that in the 20 years that the restaurant has been open, they never had this happen before. Well, you know what, it happened and I will definitely not return. Upon returning the food, Helen gave me the refund amount in full, and was apologetic. Without my request, Helen had 2 spicy beef noodle soups ready for pick up. Although a nice gesture, I cannot and will not eat at this place anymore. She insisted that I take it, but I just couldn't. She also said that sometimes when they make the beef, its packaged really tightly, which I'm not sure what the relevance had to do with the fingernail. As a grown man, I have never had somebody else's fingernail trimmings in my mouth, I nearly threw up because that is just plan gross. My wife has been gagging here and there for the past hour just thinking about it. This place is crowded, the food is good. But how did a fingernail get into my food. Im not going sit and find out, I'm never returning to this restaurant, Little Dumpling little neck on northern Blvd. I have informed my friends and family that have eaten at this location. This place is stellar! Literally one of the staples of Little Neck. Classic Szechuan cuisine that is absolutely delicious can be found here and you can't go wrong with any of it. Took my mom here for her first experience with soup dumplings and now she is a huge fan. I'm addition, to the pork soup dumplings, we also ordered shrimp fried rice and wontons in chili oil and a peanut sauce. We couldn't stop eating it was so good. Everything came out quick and hot which was perfect. We were in a rush so we got the check right away, which made us feel bad because the staff was confused as to why we left so soon. What happened to full serving meals? Even when you order a meal, the rice containers are not even full.... That's the minimum they can provide. The meats are not even full cuts of beef or chicken. I've reviewed this place before and it continues to offer outstanding, authentic, family style cuisine with friendly efficient service. It's busy and popular and for good reason. I don't believe they take reservations and I believe it's all cash so check ahead. The sign in the photo are the name of the restaurant in Chinese characters. The characters are the same sounding characters as Bruce Lee's name in Chinese (Li Xiao Long) which means "little dragon". As a pun, they changed the last character to the same sounding character as Bruce Lees name but now the three characters together state most of the characters for "soup dumpling". So where do I start with this place? Firstly, this place was packed for Sunday lunch. It's not the largest restaurant and they don't take any reservations so be prepared to wait on a crowded day. Also, they are cash only. We had a large group and so initially it was hard to get seat for all of us, but after speaking with the manager, she was very accommodative and helped us get seat quickly. So we obviously ordered a lot of seamed pork soup dumplings which were delicious. Other notable dishes were the sauteed baby bok choy and string beans, which were well prepared. The chicken and broccoli was pretty standard but well prepared. The pork fried rice, I heard, was more saucy than eggy and the lo mein was pretty solid. Lastly, shanghai style udon was also tasty. I would say that the service here was extremely attentive and pleasant even though it was really busy. I appreciated that a lot. Overall, we left full and happy despite having to wait.
