I wouldn't have known about this place if not for friends who wanted to take us here. It's a super cozy, quaint and relaxed environment with well-spaced seating. I really enjoyed the food here. The ramen bowls are large and more than enough to keep you full. All the dishes came out hot and fresh. The karage and dumplings were good. As we walked closer, there was a much smaller sign above it that read, grand opening on February 18. Needless to say, I felt like a sucker as I worked up a craving for ramen. On Sunday, February 18, we came back to see if it was worth the wait. Ambience: contemporary modern wood paneling on the walls, the decor looks like every other modern ramen shop in the neighborhood. Maybe they all hired the same contractors? It's clean and spacious, but nothing that would really separate it from the crowd. Food: we ordered: Roasted Char Siu - this is the same Char Siu that's found in the ramen, but it is served roasted as an appetizer. Very hot, savory and yummy. 4/5 Chicken Karaage - fried chicken. How can you go wrong? While most pieces were tender, there were several smaller overfried dried pieces that were either all breading or really small mini nuggets 3/5 Takoyaki - really creamy filling with a bit of octupus. 4/5 Char Siu Ramen - I was looking for my usual Tonkatsu Ramen. This was the closest thing on the menu. The Char Siu portion size was generous, but the broth was a little watered down and not as flavorful as I hoped. 3/5 read more

It is not often that I visit Alberton, but when I visit on a day below 30 degrees around 12:30 PM, I feel a hankering for ramen! So when I sauntered in, I was pleasantly surprised by the many good options in their menu with photographs of each item. The cha siu ramen was really tasty and so was the chef's special. I liked the combination of sliced scallions, bamboo shoots, pork, in a hot broth soup. I enjoyed my meal, and the ambience was quite relaxing. I found the waiter was helpful and supportive. We stumbled across this restaurant by accident. When we walked in we were greeted by Mindy @ the font desk. She was welcoming and kind. The restaurant was neat and clean. We took menus and went home. 1 hour later we ordered by phone. We both ordered Gyoza and Beef Donburi. Mindy immediately told us that 1 order of Gyoza was free because our order was more than $30. Excellent! The food arrived promptly in less than 30 minutes. The Gyoza was perfect...the dumpling was slightly crispy on the outside with delicious, savory, perfectly seasoned ground pork on the inside inside plus a great, tangy dipping sauce. The Donburi was also perfect. Lots of thinly shaved, slightly sweet beef and onions over wonderfully seasoned rice. For under 40 bucks this meal was a home run! Highly recommended! read more

Tried out this place the other day with my family and it was fantastic. The broth in the ramen seemed authentic and home-made. There was no pasty aftertaste like I have encountered with other Ramen places on the Island. My wife had the stir fry udon noodles which were excellent. Again no salty aftertaste. I suspect this restaurant uses very little MSG and fresher quality products. I'm eager to see if they can continue to replicate the quality of the meals that we experienced. It's difficult for any restaurant to have a variety of menu items that are impressive. In my experience, most restaurants seem to have their specialty dishes. Decided to give this new place a try. The niku soba seemed to be unique, so I ordered that. I was fortunate enough to be one of the two tables occupied. The interiors are very clean and neat. Even the chopsticks were of good restaurant quality instead of those disposable wooden sticks. Out came the bowl and it was of good size. I started with a sip of the broth. It has flavor but kind of fell flat. I did not have the ohh yum! moment. Next was the onion fried pork belly and that was delicious, kind of saved the dish. The soba noodles were good. Each dish cost $14.95, same price cash or credit. While the food was not overly-salty, we did order not spicy and my beef ramen had a slight kick to it, likely from the bamboo shoots, which are usually soaked in the spicy soup. The chef needs to be aware that doing this adds some spicy kick patrons may not desire if they order not spicy. The service was very good (the friendly manager went around to each table asking if everything was okay), and the bathrooms were spotless. I will return, hungry for more ramen! read more

New place opened for a week now before my wife and I have a chance to try dinner as this place is less than 5 min from our home. Had cha siu ramen and beef ramen both with miso soup instead of soy sauce soup which I can make at home. Both very subpar compared to other ramen places around here. Beef in ramen was very thin and not tasty. Small portion in a large bowl for the higher than average price. Similarly for Cha Siu ramen where miso soup was very average and portion was small. The noodles in both soups were chewy not real authentic ramen noodles. Not much other items in soups with very little mushrooms/black fungus and green onions plus the half-egg was not great. The yoke in the egg should be a bit more soft and outside of egg should be more tasty. Service was good and the place is new so modern decor is fine. Overall the food is below average so my wife and I will likely not return especially given much better options in Mineola, Westbury, and Carle Place all being 10 min drive away. read more

Ordered take-out last night for delivery in Roslyn. Ordered a little late, but they were very accommodating. Food was so good. We had the fried chicken buns and tofu buns. Both were delicious. Also had the chicken donburi and beef teriyaki. The sauce on the donburi was delicious and was applied in a lattice style on top. Wish I had taken a picture. I have been waiting for this place to open for a LONG time. A ramen shop so close to me! So when they finally opened on Sunday, I had to go immediately and show support. It's one of those long and kind of narrow shaped space (like you'd see in Manhattan). There's an open kitchen in the back left and the long walkway that passes their bubble tea station and further down to 2 non-gender specific (and strangely spacious) bathrooms. The decor is modern and clean with really high ceilings with wood and stone panels adding to the spacious feel. Being part of a small chain, they had their logo on everything. So to give a it a proper try, we ordered a variety of things. Takoyaki balls (the deep fried squid balls), the Kara-age (japanese deep fried chicken, 6 per order), the charsiu buns (2 per order), the charsiu ramen, and the spicy miso ramen. The takoyaki was probably the best - hot, with a crispy crust, creamy inside with little squid chunks and the bonito flakes on top that wriggle in the heat. The karaage was eh - the main reason I order this elsewhere is for the juicy chicken and flavor of the light batter but this was just kind of dense and dry. The buns were good but could have used a little more charsiu. But this charsiu was good (maybe due to the sauce?). Now for the ramen. Both broths were decent - the spicy miso kind of tasted like the one in the charsiu one but with some chili oil, but otherwise less salty than what I'm used to (just on the right side of bland). The charsiu was kind of disappointing - 3 big slices but they looked kind of blowtorched rarther than well roasted. And the egg was more like a regular hard boiled egg rather than the soft boiled egg typically found. Also, I found bits of the other kind of meat for their other ramen in my bowl which makes me wonder about how well they're keeping stuff separate. But the absolute saving grace were the noodles. They were thin and wavy noodles and they had the absolute perfect bite which magically lasted from first to last slurp. I will have to come and try some more dishes for a final view. The service was a bit uncoordinated but they just opened so totally can't be held against them. I look forward to coming back and trying more stuff from their menu. read more

The place was busy on a Sunday night and the service was very good. Honestly, I think they likely improved since opening. This is a very good neighborhood place at a fair price. This is a local joint, not too far from my house. I have to say that I liked the ramen there. It's not the best that I've had, but it's not as salty as other places that I have tried. I tend to like that as I can't handle too much salt. The appetizer was great! I had the pork belly bun. Again, it was not salty or as savory as others, I've tried, but that's okay by me. First of all, Ichiddo Ramen in Albertson is aesthetically beautiful. The warm lighting, wood accents and and very comfortable seating all works to enhance the GREAT food and SUPERB service we encountered here. I had the beef ramen and my son had the char siu ramen--we both agreed, the flavor and textures were extremely fresh and absolutely delicious. The prices were incredible for ramen of this quality, and furthermore, the menu was much more extensive than I expected! We're so lucky to have this relatively new restaurant in our neighborhood. Decent decor and ambiance at this new restaurant. I wasn't expecting much from the food after looking up the chain and seeing that it started in Minnesota (no offense haha) but I live very close by so wanted to try it. The flavor of the spicy miso ramen broth was not bad but the char siu was flavorless, not fatty enough, and cut too thick. The tan tan ramen was basically identical to the spicy miso except with shredded meat instead of ramen toppings. The cold house sake is decent but has a bit of a bite. The chicken karaage was strangely flavored and even more strangely textured. The inside felt chewy and doughy, not like chicken at all but the outside was fried well and not overcooked or dry. The service was the worst part of the whole meal, where our server was rushing us the entire time from the second we got to our table. The restaurant was not even at half capacity (3 or 4 seated tables of 2-4) when we came in, there was ample wait staff standing around, and no other table was seated after us so I didn't understand the rush. We were asked for our drink orders before we even hung our coats on the back of our seats and sat down. We were then brought only one sake glass with the carafe of cold sake even though there were two of us and had to ask for another one. The waiter asked me if I was finished with my noodles as I was mid sip in drinking the broth left in the bowl to which I replied no. Then when the person I was dining with finished his noodles, he rushed back over and asked if we were finished with our meal when we were still drinking sake and eating the chicken. In all the times the waiter stopped by, he refilled our water glasses once. I don't have very high hopes that the food here will improve drastically over time seeing as it is a national chain but perhaps the service will. There are multiple mediocre ramen restaurants in nearby neighborhoods where the food is comparable to this with better service. read more
