This spot is so good! Feeling in a sushi mood...we walked in on a Fri. evening to have dinner at 7:30 PM, and we were able to get a table immediately. Can I tell you that I really love this place. Family owned business with indoor seating, can be good for groups. The fish is super fresh and the food presentation is up to par. There's so much selection in their menu. I especially loved the ikayaki which is a grilled squid with sweet sauce. The squid was cook just right, it was delicious and chewy. Besides sushi they also have ramen, udon, and bento boxes in their menu. I can't wait to try the rest. If you're really hungry I would recommend ordering the sushi and sashimi for two which also includes two special rolls order and your choice of miso soup or salad. This sushi spot is definitely up there on my list within this area! It's a small mom and pop shop but there are several tables inside, mainly for smaller parties. I can tell that they get a lot of take out orders and they fulfill these orders pretty quickly too. I've gotten take out but also dined in and the quality doesn't differ when you do take out! The prices are very comparable to other sushi spots but I think the quality here is much better than most spots in Queens/Long Island. I love raw fish so rolls and sashimi are always my go-to items to order. There's a huge selection of special rolls and if you look at their online menu, there are pictures associated with each of them. I like to see what my food would look like and plus, it actually comes out looking like the picture, if not better! I think all their rolls are great. The filling to rice ratio is perfect and as I mentioned, the quality has always been great with every order. The shrimp tempura are actually meaty pieces of shrimp compared to other spots that are mostly just batter and they put generous amounts of raw fish as well. Phenom sushi in the Mineola area. Always the same folk staffing tables. Space is small so get there early to snag a table. They do a ton of take out- door is constantly opening and closing (prepare for cold burst of air in winter). Love their sushi- fresh and generous portions, and we usually get a noodle entree too. Who knew about this hidden gem? Tucked away next to NYU Langone in Mineola, this place might have the best sushi in Nassau. It's a small family run restaurant but the food here is really just top notch. We got the sushi sahimi for 3 (which really is enough to feed 4-5) and we really enjoyed it. The fish was fresh and they were generous with the amounts of food. What makes this combo great is that you can pick 3 of their specialty rolls to boot on top of the sushi and sashimi and their rolls are just simply delicious. The nami roll, spicy king crab and volcano roll were all beyond my expectations. We also tried their spicy tuna crispy rice which was really surprisingly good as well - on par with much higher priced restaurants. Hamachi kama was also fresh and cooked to perfection. Great spot that has a mom + pop feel. We've been a few times now because quality of the fish is great, and the platters are good value. For the sushi for 3, you get enough for 4+ (but just sushi pieces accommodating for 3, so okay if you don't want each piece). The toro roll is actually full of toro so that's a good one and the sushi is fresh. The appetizers are also big portions so def plan accordingly. I usually order the sushi deluxe which comes with 10 sushi nigiri (omakase style - which is always an amazing selection) and a delicious fresh tuna roll and a soup! My personal favorite is their mushroom soup which has an amazing umami flavor. Some must try rolls are the genji roll, shiro roll, and tiger roll. I love their seared rolls! Our favorites are also the Salmon Bento Box Dinner which brings shumai, California roll, soup, salad and tempura appetizer. Also, their spicy rolls have big chunks of fresh fish so you will not get disappointed unlike other places that serve tempura filled spicy rolls. This place is amazing. I absolutely would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. They get a lot of take out foot traction and the dining place is quite small so big parties are not possible for dining in. But the food, the sushi in particular, was amazing. The quality of fish is some of the best I've had around Queens/Nassau area and for such a convenient price. The Ikayaki is definitely the best one I've ever had. I usually don't order it anymore since it's a disappointment usually. This one though, was perfectly cooked with a wonderful sear flavor from the grill. The sauce heightened the squid without it being overbearing. The chirashi was a lot bigger than expected for a lunch special. $17.5 for 13 pieces of sashimi and some sides. Rice was sweet and fluffy. The quality of the fish was fresh and tasteful. The rolls are a generous portion. The only thing is I wouldn't recommend oyster tempura roll. There wasn't much oyster and the flavor was not there. Ordered Platter A which was 15 pieces of sushi, 30 sashimi, 3 regular rolls and 3 specialty rolls for $100. It does not come with soup and/or salad. I was pleasantly surprised by the types of fish they included e.g. otoro and other types of fatty tuna. They didn't skimp out on the rolls and appreciated the high fish to low rice ratio. The food is always neatly packaged and arrives in a timely manner. Their sushi is fresh and tasty. No excessive rice like other sushi places. Ordered take out from here on New Years Eve and I have to say I loved the food here. They actually had Uni on the menu, it's hard to find Uni on the menu in a lot of Japanese restaurants in the area. The Uni was fresh on my Chirashi. The fatty tuna was melt in your mouth. My husband had the sashimi sampler which he loved and my sister had the special of the day the oyster roll and the dragon roll. And then you can customize your own roll which is great.
