Everything was DELIGHTFUL. I usually find one or two pieces that I'm not the greatest fan of, and that was the case here too with a torched piece (not sure what it was). The other fish was great though - they don't skimp on portions & the rice is well seasoned. The interior of the restaurant is a bit dated, but doesn't take away from the food. Seeing the owner outside, I politely asked if we could have some salt. To my shock, he suddenly started yelling at me and told me that I was being rude. At first, I thought he was joking, so I responded, "Can you imagine how rude I am to my husband?" His response was completely inappropriate and offensive. He said that if he were my husband, he would slap me on my behind over and over again in a sensual manner and that I would enjoy every moment of it. My friends and I were absolutely stunned. When I asked him to stop and bring us the check, he then said that "you Jews always give me problems." A few minutes later, after I told the waitstaff that I intended to share my experience on GN Mommies, he came over with hot sake to apologize. He even offered to refund our meal, but I declined. I don't want anything from someone who makes hateful remarks about Jews. After living in Great Neck for 40 years, I have never experienced anything like this. As a Jewish resident, I was deeply offended by both the inappropriate sexual comments and the anti-Semitic remark. I will never set foot in this restaurant again.

Easy. Economical. Unexpectedly, their bento box filling is more than the usual... it even included 1 kitchen choice. Food is good , tea is good. Service is great. Pricing is affordable. As I was looking on their menu after placing my order , the place is concentrating not only on sushi / sashimi's / Japanese cuisine food but an entire spread of Asian countries specialties. In addition to a sliced up piece of chicken katsu, the box came with miso soup, a salad with ginger dressing, 4 shumai, a classic roll of your choice (I went for yellowtail avocado), and white rice. I thought almost everything in my bento box was delicious. The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. It was a tad plain on its own but great when dipped into the tonkatsu sauce. The shumai was also tasty, and the yellowtail avocado roll was fresh. For under $20, I thought it was a more than good amount of food. The restaurant also gives you complimentary hot green tea, which was perfect for the rainy weather.

I also appreciated the Asian influenced decor. My Selection* Ozeki Karatamba (Honjozo) -is very light and sweet, it hits the spot without going over my intoxicated level. Salmon Tempura Maki ( Fried salmon, crabstick, scallion w/ eel sauce -very d'licious offering a much appreciated crunchy texture. I enjoyed it so much, so I ordered another serving. Palace Shrimp ( tuna, rice, avocado -this had a smoother texture and was very enjoyable as well. I also had the miso soup- it was nice and hot and I enjoyed it immensely.
