Order take out at Sushi Garden. The portion was generous and the ingredients were fresh. Definitely a good choice if you are hosting a party!

New and modern! Great atmosphere and the foods are amazing! The sashimi is super fresh and the chicken teriyaki is a "must try " item on the menu.

Eel teriyaki lunchbox that came with a healthy serving of eel over cabbage, 4 pcs of California roll, 2 shumai, (1) shrimp tempura, rice and salad. 2. Spicy squid lunch special - this has a little bit of a kick and can get quite spicy. Recommended to ask for less spicy if you cannot handle the heat. This came with rice, salad, 4 pcs California roll. 3. Clam kalguksu (hand pulled noodles), savory broth with plenty of little clams still in shell. I've had better, but this wasn't bad either. All of the above came with miso soup and a variety of veggie banchans (radish, pickled jalapeños and water kimchi). Service was fine, the place was actually quite busy with take out and dine in. They were attentive and checked on us a few times while we ate. The dining area itself is a little bit outdated though with worn down seating areas, but otherwise comfortable enough for a quick bite. FYI, there is a 4% fee for credit card payments, no minimum.

The chicken consisted of wings, drums and thighs. Tasted bland on its own so you need to rely on the sauce (I usually just eat it plain but with this, I couldn't). The pancake was pretty good~ crispy and flavorful (I need to ask for no carrots & peas next time). The sushi was decent- bc it was Sunday, they didn't have the 2/3 roll lunch special so we paid full price for each roll. The service was friendly & attentive, lots of options on the menu and the restaurant itself was very clean with pop music blasting. We'll definitely be back again.

However, this will be my absolute last time at Kotobuki in Roslyn, as someone who's been countless times. We came hungry and ordered relatively quickly. We waited at least 30 minutes for our Kani salad which was surprising, since it's in most of their dishes. Unfortunately, it was inedible. The only thing I can compare it to texture-wise is the crinkle paper they put in gift bags. We sent it back and had to wait again to get a menu and reorder. We were surprised there was not a care from the waiters to make it right. They also mentioned that everyone had been complaining about the Kani and did nothing about it. Our sushi took an hour to come out, and my friend rolls were incorrect. She mentioned it to the waiter and got her food taken back to correct it. When she got her new, correct order from our waiter, not only was the order still wrong, the plate was super dirty and a hair was on her plate. At this point, with the lack of service, attention, and inedible food we called over the manager who apologized and offered to make the new rolls himself. He did it quick, and though it was a nice gesture, at this point we were so put off from the hair we couldn't finish our meals and were ready to leave. They comped the Kani salads (which we sent back) but to our surprise nothing else was taken care of. I wasn't expecting a $0 bill, but to pay over $50 for a pretty horrific meal and experience also rubbed me the wrong way. Do yourself a favor and support other Japanese restaurants that have the fish quality, affordability, and attention to customers that Kotobuki lacks with their new turnover in management.

Owned by another fantastic Japanese couple where the husband used to deliver the best picks of fresh fish and seafood to award winning and Michelin starred restaurants all across NYC. The space was upgraded a bit and thankfully they still retained the chef who handles the back kitchen and still deliciously creates and beautifully plates all their traditional Japanese hot dishes (please bring back the chawanmushi though!). Menu is a bit more scaled down from what it was but still all delicious and price point for it all is perfect. This spot is worthy enough to come to every day or to LIRR in from the city to eat at. Sad to not see master Kikumatsu at the helm of the sushi bar and Kyoko chan to greet you as you walk in but the new owners are as warm and as great too! Must go repeatedly!

We enjoyed our dinner thoroughly and will be back for the miso black cod and hamachi kama next time. Dinner for 4, no drinks, about $200 all in, more than fair, about 35% less than the same experience in Manhattan. Looking forward to coming back, just to see Mr. K., oh and the sushi is great too.

The space is nice, clean, and surprisingly spacious--perfect whether you're going for a casual dinner or a group outing. We were lucky enough to get our own private room, which made the experience feel even more special and relaxed. The service was excellent from start to finish--attentive without being overbearing. Staff checked in at just the right times, made great recommendations, and kept everything running smoothly. We went with the all-you-can-eat (AYCE) option but couldn't resist trying a few à la carte items too. Honestly, everything met (and even exceeded) expectations. The fish tasted fresh, the presentation was on point, and every roll and dish came out flavorful and well-prepared. Portions were just right--not too small where you feel unsatisfied, and not overly large either, so you can try a good variety without feeling overwhelmed. No long waits between rounds either, which is always a huge plus for AYCE. We also ordered sake, and it was the perfect match--really complemented the flavors of the sushi and elevated the whole dining experience. What really stood out was how consistent the quality was across the board--whether it was classic rolls, specialty items, or hot dishes. Everything felt thoughtfully prepared, not rushed like some AYCE spots can be. Overall, a great experience: delicious food, a comfortable atmosphere, attentive service, and that added bonus of a private dining space. Definitely a spot I'd come back to--and bring friends next time.

Seriously? How do places like this stay in business?…read more Plans for a business dinner at about 6:30, I arrived there around 5:30, starving, and asked the manager for a happy hour bar menu. Hoping to have a snack and a beer while I waited and go over the paperwork for our meeting. This seemed to confuse him, but whatever. I sat at the bar and watched the 'waitress' ignore me while doing nothing much. She closed out three tabs for people that didn't ask, poured a beer for someone that also didn't ask, then came out from behind the bar to annoy a guy at a table on his phone and eating. I looked right at her and she averted her eyes. Not even an 'I'll be right with you'. What was this all about? BTW...I was the only woman at the bar....hmmmmm... Ex waitress, bartender, caterer and kitchen manager here. I got up, stopped by the manager sitting at a table doing paperwork, complained succinctly, and walked out. He still seemed confused so I guess that that's his baseline. His purpose there? I have no clue. He needs to train his staff better. Do know that were were only maybe 5 or 6 other people in the entire restaurant at the time. So she lost a bar customer, no big deal, but she also lost 4 people for a business dinner that I moved elsewhere in the mall. Won't be back...
