Food is good, fresh and tasty. But the restaurant has new menu and new name I think. The ambiance is cozy. Music isn't too loud. Service is friendly and quick! Good place to come even when you are hungry. You won't get hangry here. lol. It's a Korean snack food restaurant now.

Top two items were the fries and kimbap. PORTIONS ARE BIG!! I normally love my stew but the sausage stew was underwhelming.. could have used more flavor(spice and salt). The rose rice cakes were super heavy, thick, and creamy.. not my cup of tea, slightly sweet as well. We got the stew to cut out the heaviness but it was not quite enough. Would have been tolerable if served with some kimchi or any pickle. The spicy tuna Kimbap was massive as mentioned on TikTok, and a must get if you go. Service was mediocre, did not pay much attention.. server/owner just on their phones. The interior of the place was nice and cozy until we saw a cockroach on the wall by our table, literally right above our food. Completely ruined my appetite. Food was alright, not sure if I'd go again but they may need an exterminator.

Last night, my friend and I decided to visit Nawabari again. I felt like I needed to go back and feed my stressed body spicy rice cakes.. I'm so glad that I did because this experience was much better than my first visit! Unfortunately, I completely forgot to check in and take more photos! We ordered the tteokbokki set for 2 people and ordered extra rice cakes, spicy tuna kimbap, beef kimbap, and Fish cake soup. I ordered with my eyes and believed we could eat all of the food but it was more than enough food for 3 people. The extra rice cakes came on the side to be added into the pot that sits on the tabletop stove. Our pot was almost overflowing. The woman who works there had helped us before the food started to boil over. You mix and cook the tteokbokki yourself but it was really nice to have her help us with the impending chaos that was about to unfold. I suggest you give the spicy tuna kimbap a try. It is amazing! There are benefits of ordering with cash but I didn't have any. I paid with my card and left a cash tip instead. The restaurant does offer a stamp card where you can get a free kimbap when you collect a certain amount of stamps. I asked my friend to hold on to it because I'll end up losing it. The cost of the meal is really affordable compared to other restaurants in Flushing. I ordered 2 extra dishes this time around and expected my food to come close to $100. I was way off. If you want an affordable meal that's filling, I highly recommend Nawabari. In regards to the uncomfortable seating I have mentioned in my previous review, it's just one table right across from the register. I sat in the back this time around and saw that it was just that one particular 4-seat table in the middle of the restaurant. I'd avoid sitting there. However, keep in mind that in the winter, the heat will be on. You should be like Sheldon Cooper of the Big Bang Theory and choose your seat wisely. I had just finished swim before visiting Nawabari and I was sweating like crazy because I sat in the pathway of the vent. Don't be like me. I said what I said in my previous review about coming here. I changed my mind and I think I will come here at least once a week to eat..despite the chaos of 162nd street.

incredible service and delicious food, we got the table cooked tteokbokki and the beef kimbap, and they gave us complimentary dumplings! great, clean environment and the staff were really so kind to us.

I believe the restaurant of this place changed its name to something else, but the food seemed pretty similar. I decided to get the tteokbokki for 2 and the king kimbap because we've heard great things about those. The king kimbap was so delicious and I thought it was pretty that they used red radishes because it really brought out the colors. Our meal came with complimentary fish cake soup as well. I appreciated the server cooking the tteokbokki in front of us. It was nice to see the cooking process and the portion size was perfect. It came with fried dumplings on the side and it tasted even better when you would dip it in the tteokbokki sauce. We saw a lot of people ordering the jjolmyeon, so we decided to come back to try that. Overall, the service and food were great. The seating is fairly small compared to other restaurants, but the vibe was good. Seemed cozy and nicely decorated. Food: 5/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5

Not sure if they changed their name but came here for their rose tteokbbokki. YUM. Not too spicy but it creeps up on you. a lot of fish cake and noodles but wish there was more tteok. The kimbap on the menu also looks good - will be back to try.

A poor excuse for a wasabi tuna kimbap. Charges 10 dollars to eat a roll full of vegetables... I'll pass

Ordered several kimbap. Was first person to order. Had the wasabi tuna kimbap. Ratio is completely off the carts. The amount of tuna in my kimbap was ridiculous. Let the picture speak for itself.

I discovered this place on TikTok and decided to give it a try and I'm so glad I did! This is a very small restaurant, it has a very homey and comfortable feel and the service was great. Most of the food came out at a decent speed. We ordered the rose tteokbokki, cheese corn and the bulgogi kimbap to share. The kimbap was FILLED with bulgogi, egg, daikon etc. It was the biggest kimbap roll I've ever seen and they perfected the rice to filling ratio which made it taste so good! I absolutely loved this. However, the rose tteokbokki was the star of the show. The rose tteokbokki sauce was flavorful but not overpowering. I absolutely loved this and I also liked that it came with fried mandu and cheese! The corn cheese was delish as well, have a good cheese pull and perfectly sweet (also a huge portion). I will definitely be back!

Came with a group of five and ordered the rose tteokboki for three with an extra side of ramen. It was more than enough for five. The tteokboki is so good, my friend compared it to an ayce tteokboki place and this was sooo much better. It's the perfect amount of spice where you can enjoy it. We also each got our own kimbap and they were massive. Definitely worth the price. Although it's a small place they're great for groups. A great environment for eating and chatting!

Tteokbokki (small), fried eggs x2, jumbo sized classic kimbap, complimentary fish cake broth

Retro-esque ambiance Quick service Very chewy 시장 Tteokbokki (small) - predominant red pepper flake flavored thick broth that's not too spicy and is not sweet (good portion/value for price for one person) fried eggs x2 - thinly fried fully boiled eggs jumbo sized classic kimbap- fresh tasting, can taste all the ingredients complimentary fish cake broth - appreciated Above for one person - got leftover kimbaps to-go (50%) Almost was tempted to take rice cake to go to but powered through. As of 2024, paid around $20 minus tip. Considering that it's in NY and how full I am, not too bad of a value. Fair taste depending on your preference of the rice cake style. Better than most ready made rice cake- the chewiness and thickness of the rice cake is hard to beat.

What a great new addition to Northern Blvd! Nawabari feels like a hole in the wall in the best of ways. A small storefront gives way to a long dining room filled with cozy tables and chairs, encouraging dining parties to squeeze together for a warm meal. And that's the best way to describe the food served here - comfort food that's meant to share from both Japanese and Korean cuisines. I especially liked the crab (kani) salad that was generous with its fresh crab meat and the budae jjigae which was served hot with lots of spam and vegetables. Coming soon after its grand opening, we also took advantage of their buy one get one free drink special, which is such a good deal that should be taken advantage of while it's still offered. Definitely recommend this place for a casual night out with friends, you won't be disappointed.

Cozy place for late night eats. Service was good. We had the rose tteokbokki which was rich and flavorful. We also had 2 different rolls of kimbap, cheesy corn, fried mandu, and fried chicken. No complaints at all about the food but we did see a roach at the restaurant

I normally…read moredon't like places with many prices, but since our daughter chose it so we enjoy with her. The prices on the windows are very confusing and more like false advertising for me, the lower prices are for the members which we're not since this is our first time and definitely our last, unless our daughter wants to come here again. So the price is the more expensive one. For me, I prefer straight forward pricing, so this didn't give me good vibes, it's not the money, just the way they advertising and we have to know what we can only have with the price we chose. The restaurant just gives us the specific menu for what we selected to have then we don't have to be denied for what we chose because we selected gold instead of top of the line menu. The place is clean and nice. For $78/per person and only have Australian Wagyu Beef (not really Wagyu) then it's over priced. We did have some premium beef which I liked because of the marble of fat on the beef quite tender and tasty, but only a sampler or whatever they called it. Service with one person is quite inadequate but she's very attentive and pleasant, since she had to run the whole restaurant, sometimes forgets things. The tomato broth was good and everyone liked it. The seafood plate is OK and our sweet shrimps are sweet. Some snow crab legs, jumbo shrimps, fish fillets, nothing to make me go wow. The appetizers tempura is crispy and good. The raw octopus is tasty. The vegetables are fresh and clean. After they denied me the premium beef sampler, I let my daughter to order everything else and I just enjoyed with the family. My daughter seemed to be happy and ate a lot, so I was happy. I've eaten enough shabu, hot pot to know that Australian or American Wagyu are overrated, many of them are tough and chewy, not as tender as normal ribeyes or Brisket that I like. This restaurant Wagyu beef does have marbles of fat in it, so it's tender and not so chewy. So, for the GOLD menu, I don't think it's worth the $78 but for special occasions, it's OK. I just don't like the confusion of many menu, many prices, and not getting my own menu and get denied for something on the menu because I didn't pay enough.

We are very familiar with the area and must have walked passed this neatly tucked away gem without ever noticing it. Our son had mentioned that he and his friends have been going to a sushi place near Asian Jewel, our former dim sum go to place. When we sat down to order, my wife and I were quite impressed by how clean and cozy the restaurant was. Kind of on the small side with a few tables on the ground floor level. The menu offered cooked food as well as fresh sushi. We decided to start with the sushi & sashimi combo. They also offered a sushi or sashimi a la carte menu where you can choose to order by the piece. I believe that if you choose one of their standard menu sushi or sashimi orders and pay with cash, the a la carte price per piece of sushi / sashimi is only $1.35 / piece! Well we were famished and in addition to the sushi & sashimi plate we ordered two rounds of sushi & sashimi a la carte. Their salmon and yellow tail was so fresh and so scrumptious as was the sweet shrimp. The tuna was also very yummy and did not disappoint! When all was said and done we were quite happy with our experience with Yoi Sushi Japanese. There was a good variety of appetizers, fish and dessert. The appetizer options were so unique and the platting was so pretty. The fish options were also very plentiful and I liked the topping that they put on top of each one, the rich was not as warm and soft as I would usually like it but they paired well with the fish.
