I am drooling just thinking about the delicious soy marinated crabs and kalbi from this restaurant. This is a wonderful spot for Korean barbecue and their other dishes are just as incredible. I was able to share many items with my party and never stopped eating. My top bites had to be the crab, kalbi and their cold noodles. Everything was so fresh and flavorful. Especially that crab. Their kalbi is extremely tender and silky tasting in my opinion. It really leaves you wanting more. I'd highly recommend this spot if you're in the area but make sure you come hungry!

If Korean BBQ is on your mind and you're anywhere near Queens, Sung Book Dong should be top of mind. Our family ordered servings of both the marinated and plain short ribs and I was shocked by how tender and flavorful these meats were. The server comes by to cook, flip, and cut the meats on a tabletop grill so that all you need to do is to have your chopsticks and appetite ready. Best of all, they use a gas grill AND a low-hanging vent over the tabletop grill. I know there are folks out there who'll argue the merits of cooking over charcoal briquets (which some other restaurants do), but there's nothing worse than having dinner and then smelling it on your clothes for days to come. Ordering any of the BBQ meats not only means you get to watch the best meat-based tabletop cooking show; it also means the rest of your table space will be littered with all kinds of banchan, or free side dishes. You'll see all the standards like a dressed salad, kimchi, and sesame-seasoned spinach, but there's all kinds of other special ones here - kabocha squash salad, a savory Korean egg soufflé, and raw marinated crab. We also tried the seafood pancake, which was outstanding. Crispy, full of seafood, and sizable enough to share as a party of four, this was a lovely accompaniment to all the meat. If there are downsides, it's with the little things. While the interior of the restaurant is pretty large, the tables are fit in close together so get ready to eavesdrop on lots of conversations at neighboring tables (and vice versa). This restaurant is a hotspot for Korean BBQ and it shares space with a few other businesses in the complex, so what little parking is available in the lot goes fast. We're often better off finding street parking along neighboring streets.

OMG they had the most tender meat I've ever had at a Korean bbq place. The bulgogi and short ribs (their special marinade not LA galbi) almost melts in your mouth and wasn't too sweet. The banchan that came out was more on the simple side. Good but nothing to brag about. The cold noodles broth was like a slushie with great flavor and acidity. They do bring out extra vinegar and hot mustard on the side so if you like your cold noodles extra vinegary or want a slight kick, go for it! Super refreshing and perfect for the warm weather we've been having. Good service. Server took the time to explain/answer all the questions I had. This is not AYCE but they do have different meats as a la carte or have meat combo options. I didn't get to take a picture of all the menu pages but I included the lunch and meat combo menu. PARKING- the lot is very small. I got lucky with a parking spot in front right before lunch rush hour. There is a garage in the plaza but I'm not sure if they charge. Seems like a lot of people park on the street.

It's a restaurant tucked away in a small plaza in Little Neck. Food wise, this place is as authentic and bomb as it gets. The banchan is homemade, unique and super tasty. They have white kimchi, which is a 10/10 in taste and texture. They also give soy sauce marinated raw crabs, anchovies with peppers, and this egg omelette. I got the bulgogi dolsot bibimbap. It was a huge portion size and the flavor was spot on. The accompanying vegetables in the bibimbap were sooo good. Have also had their spicy soondubu, and the flavor was rich and deep. At the end of the meal they also give a small cup of homemade sikhye, which is super refreshing. Highly recommend this place. Service is 10/10 as well, the owner is an older lady that's always there, she's friendly and always asks us how our meal is.

We heard they are very generous when it comes to banchans so had to come and see for ourselves. The rumors are true! 11 plates of banchan is pretty amazing and uncommon these days. Tried soy marinated raw crab and the clam and spinach stew. We thought the soy marinated crab was fantastic! The clam soup had 3-4 tablespoons of minced garlic at the end which was hard to finish without getting a mouth full of garlic bits. They are known for their Korean BBQ so curious to try that next.

Marinated short rib

High quality marinated short ribs - one of my favorites in the Queens area. You pay for what you get - 1 serving of short ribs is about $56. Expect to pay about $80-100/pp depending on the cuts of meat you get and drinks you might have as well. Server will cook it for you perfectly and provide you with your side dishes, drinks, etc. Service is usually pretty good, although they are usually incredibly busy so you may have to flag someone down if you need something urgently. Several tables for bbq along the perimeter and non bbq tables in the center. Tables are good for both small and larger groups.

What the hell, this place is a must-visit. The food is fab, and you'll experience the Korean service here, but if you want authentic, this is what you'll get in Korea. So think of it as an experience and try the food. We also paid a tremendous amount for the aged kimchi with pork, DAMN. It fed 3 people with 1-2 servings of leftovers, and it was DELISH. I am bookmarking and definitely coming back... Thank you, please don't close!!

Food here is always good with friendly service. The parking lot gets crowded though so you might be able to find street parking as well. I LOVE their combo specials.

I never leave reviews and i hate to leave a bad one because i know how it affects the business.. With that being said, I am so annoyed with the food and service that I had to write one. Got the marinated beef (galbi) and it was fatty and mid at best. The rice smelt like it was in the rice cooker for days and tasted awful. The side dishes were terrible and a quarter of it seemed spoiled. The peppers looked spoiled the lettuce was old and flimsy. Didn't even get the steamed eggs that every bbq spot gives, and they blamed it on "it's late, sorry". Expensive and not worth it, there are dozens of way better spots, DO NOT waste your time with this placed, sucha disappointment. I sound like a karen but it had to be done, step your game up if you dont want to go out of business.

With all the Korean BBQ places in Queens I finally ended up at Sung Book Dong. To say I love Korean barbecue would be an understatement. The restaurant is large with each table having its own hanging vacuum for the smoke from the barbecue to go into. The portions of the food are quite nice so we ordered a set of steak barbecue and a fish soup. The staff was quick to get our order and start cooking it for us. They were extremely attentive and continued to run over to make sure the food was being cooked properly and drinks were flowing. The food was quite tasty and flavorful.

Side dishes

Amazing side dishes and amazing crabs. The crabs were so fresh. You could tell because the seasoning is minimal (very light sweet soy sauce). The side dishes were so good and the white napa cabbage kimchi the GOAT. It was super refreshing. I really wanted to ask for their recipe.

Soy marinated raw crab - ok la...

Really enjoyed the loud atmosphere, reminds me of Ktown... a little old school, meat quality was just ok, nothing spectacular that would require a 2nd visit. Service is insanely fast! They want to turnover the tables mad quick. We were a party of 12... so we took up precious commodity... we ordered, got food right away and finished within an hour and 15 mins. The Ahjummas kept the food moving! The bus boys removed plates quick and we ate fast. We ordered a bunch of BBQ meats, pork belly, pork jowl... short ribs, briskets... fried mandu, japchae, pancakes and soy marinated raw crabs... not enough roe... it was ok. Also got a hotpot and it was too much food... The banchans were plenty and we all left very very full! Just be prepare for a lightening fast meal. Have fun, eat and get out. #yelpinginqueens #kbbq #yelplife

Located on Northern Blvd at the Eastern border of Bayside, Queens just before Little Neck; small shared parking lot in front and lower level small garage; offering Kbbq but come here for the soy sauce marinated raw crab and stews; good assortment of included quality side dishes; clean & well ventilated interior; casual vibe but can get quite busy; expect a wait during peak rush; call for reservations or takeout. Housed in a landmark Floral Park building, this gem has a warm ambiance with low lighting, leather booths, and quiet background coffee-sleepy-jazz in the background (Though, as a fan, I wish they hadn't messed with the Sly and the Family Stone's "If You Want Me To Stay" :D). There is an inviting large bar, an open kitchen, and a large private room in the back. The menu is American classics made with premium ingredients. Although his place is known for their single malt whiskey, craft beer and signature cocktails, only one at our table had a cocktail: EZ Money made with gin, prosecco, lemon, cucumber and St- Germain Elderflower Liqueur. I will look at their wine list next visit. As for the food, the garlic bread and calamari did not disappoint. Our table ordered a variety of dishes. A unique rotisserie chicken salad sandwich, a salmon bowl, and an order of mussels. Each dish was a win. I chose a great mesclun green salad and had to try the double smash burger, a mouth-watering proprietary blend of prime chuck, brisket and short rib which I'd have to talk myself out of not re ordering with my next visit. From family gatherings and office parties to intimate date nights, The Harrison offers an ambiance and menu designed to satisfy both the casual diner and the most discerning palate.

Poor service, unavailable, menu items and mediocre food…read more The chicken noodle soup came out room temperature and in our opinion did not taste good. It had a heavy lemon taste. I ordered chicken and waffles from the brunch menu which was supposed to come with chicken breast but the server placed the order from main menu, which instead offered wings. The cook came from the kitchen with a very unfriendly demeanor to let me know that she already dropped the chicken and pretty much implied that I would be getting the wings as she already started cooking them. I informed her I will take the wings. However, I still ended up getting the chicken breast tenders. The server offered to make one of the guests, a custom drink, and it was very heavy with rum and was not mixed well as the drink separated shortly after receiving it. All guests ordered a meal from the brunch menu along with a glass of ginger ale. However, we were charged for the drinks, even though it was supposed to be unlimited with brunch. I did not catch that until I got home and realized the drinks were charged separately. (yes we were within the 90 minute limit.) Additionally, only three out of the four ginger ale's came out. She took so long to bring the last one that the guest just declined it as we were almost finished eating. One of the guests ordered French toast with sausage but received bacon instead she also ordered the macaroni and cheese with bacon at the same time and the server did not bring it out. She had to be reminded and he came out very late. The macaroni and cheese was not good. It had the appearance of being cooked in a rush. There were big pieces of bacon in it versus the typical smaller bits the cheese was very dry One of the guest ordered the snapper, but the server returned a few minutes later to inform us that they are out of snapper. Be aware that gratuity was automatically included for a party of four. That might explain the not so good service as there is no incentive to do better.

I visited Suite 36 Brunch & Bistro for the second time on Saturday, March 21st with a 2p…read morereservation; however, we arrived around 1:50p. Given my first experience in February, was outstanding, I decided to bring a friend to experience the food. Firstly, I cannot rave enough about the food, 10/10, the chef is on point. This visit, I had the lambchops and grits, and my friend had the bacon fried rice. Excellent, no complaints. The 90 minute bottomless options, specifically, the cocount pineapple mimosa, perfection, no complaints. Secondly, while there was no DJ this time(first time there was and he was on point), the vibe was still nice and perfect for a Saturday brunch. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed with this second visit, as around 3:30pm we were asked to leave (we had a full carafe remianing of our bottomless mimosa, but was able to take it with us, so not a waste), as there was a private event in the afternoon/evening. I have no concerns with the restaurant renting for private events; however,I'd expect to be advised there is a time limit for seating when either making the reservation for that day or upon arrival to the restaurant. Not sure of the system limitations for reservations, but perhaps include a note for that day/time letting people know there is an earlier shut down. But, if that isn't an option, at the very least verbally advise of the private event and the shutdown, when the patrons physically arrive at the restaurant. This time, I made the reservation by phone a week earlier. Had I known they were planning to shut down to the public at a certain time, I would have altered the reservation to arrive earlier. Additionally, there were patrons who arrived after us, so their time was cut shorter. If not for the private event, there were empty tables, so we would not have needed to leave at that point to allow for other patrons to be seated. I plan to return as the food is exceptional, not over priced and worth additional visits; however, I want the owners to appreciate how it can be offputting to be asked to leave in that manner. Please be mindful in the future of cutting short the dining experience without prior communication. Other than that, this is a a great option for brunch!

After visiting for brunch today, I'm excited to be able to update my review with a full five stars…read more- Swing the Teapot is officially one of my local favorites! I had the tea experience with Black Velvet and it was just what I needed. I'll admit that the licorice and peppermint were very faint, but it was still a tasty tea and sharing a large pot with my partner, we finished the whole thing. My MIL loved her ginger peach tea, and my friends each enjoyed theirs, one getting his go-to peppermint and the other trying the red raspberry and remarking in how pleased she was with her choice. Lesson learned- if you come here and DON'T get tea (with the adorable teapot, teacup and saucer, all charmingly mismatched) you're doing it wrong. Because I'm weird, I just ordered the Irish soda bread with a dish of whipped cream as a "light" breakfast, and I appreciated that the server humored me to the fullest. My partner had a blueberry muffin that he was super pleased with, probably his favorite that he's found in the area so far. My MIL unabashedly devoured her chicken salad sandwich and the potato salad it came with - usually she's picky so that's quite the endorsement. The avocado toast and burger that my friends ordered all looked fantastic too. Great service, delicious food and tea, and very good prices- next visit will be for the live music!

The teas were served in actual tea pots and cups. Food was pretty good overall, my daughter loved the pancakes, which has been the go-to order. Service is a hit or miss depending on the time of day. The first time we went was on early in the morning before noon so it was not busy. My husband ordered the Irish Breakfast, which was very comforting and filling. I ordered the fish and chips, which were pretty good. I took the leftovers home. The price for the dining experience was very reasonable. The most recent time we went was around lunch time and it was buzzing. We were lucky that we got seated but service definitely suffered this time around. For this dining experience we ordered the pancakes from the adult menu. My husband ordered the Shepherd's Pie and I had the Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict. We took the leftover pancakes home as we devoured the Shepherd's Pie and Eggs Benedict. I'd definitely go back one day to experience dining with a live band.
