Overcooked wings- pretty tough and flavorless
Meagan M.

Super sad to post this review because we have been coming here for years. But the quality is just not there anymore. The past few times we have gotten it, the wing quality is really small, overcooked and hardly any meat. The sauces don't have the same kick that they used to. All in all just missing what it used to be.

Homemade Onion Rings
Lori H.

I only had a takeout experience here, but it was pretty good. When I walked through the front door, I was directed to the back wall with the double windows to place to-go orders. Once I placed my order, it didn't take long for it to come out. Food: I had Homemade Onion Rings and 15-piece wings with Lemon Pepper, Medium, and Garlic Parmesan. The Onion Rings were thin-cut and lightly battered, but they still had a nice crunch to them, too. The wings were no frills or thrills, but they were classics, so it would be great if someone were craving wings like I was. My favorites were the Medium Buffalo flavor and Lemon Pepper. I liked the spicy and tangy flavors of the buffalo and the sharp tang from the lemon pepper, so those hit the spot. The garlic parmesan was more plain and less flavorful, so it was my least favorite. Overall, now that I have had the wings, I would go back to either more Wings or try the "N' More" part of the menu, lol. They have so many options, and they have Happy Hours. Another customer getting takeout told me their Margaritas were good, too.

Fried pickles!

Traditional sports bar with loud speakers on the tv, late night dj playing, and the best bar area to watch your favorite team. I loved the buffalo shrimp wrap and the curly fries. They have an option on the appetizers for you to pick two of the price of one! I recommend the fried pickles and the mushrooms! On Sundays they have an amazing happy hour! I enjoyed half prized appetizers and frozen margaritas bigger than my head! If you sit at the bar, ask for Mya, she's beautiful, attentive, friendly and awesome at making mixed drinks and shots! My favorite place to make new friends! You'll have a great time and your stomachs will be happy! And don't make the mistake to park where the towing signs are! There's plenty of parking, but the nearby establishments are quick to tow you if you park where you're not supposed to!

Chipotle honey mustard 10 Wings
Cilicia L.

Our server was nice, but it took a really long time for our food to come out. The restaurant wasn't very busy, so I don't know what the hold up was. Then they brought me seasoned fries when I asked for them unseasoned. The chipotle honey mustard wings are good. The flavor is sweet with just a little spice. They only come with a couple of carrot sticks, so if you want fries, you have to order them separately. The curly fries were good, well cooked.

Received chicken tenders. But, i ordered wings.

Do not order from here unless you want something completely different from what you want! I place an order for take out for wings. But, when i picked it up, i guess they did not check the order before packing. I received chicken tender instead. I tried calling but, no one answer. Their answering machine line just went in circles. Very disappointed.

If I could give it more stars I would! Been coming here since I was little and NO other place beats them. I could probably eat this everyday I love their drinks and wings my whole family is a big fan

Chicken wings
Milan K.

The food literally has no seasoning or flavor to it and it's over cooked. It's like they just deep fried everything but didn't use salt, pepper, or any other spices. Bland!

This is $5.67!? Keep in mind they only have 1 option for fries so this isn't a " small".

Never Uber Eats, they over charge and don't even put the right amount of food. They take over an hour to prepare just for the food to be cold. I was charged $5.67 for this amount of fries. Keep in mind there are only 1 option for " crinkle cut fries" so this isn't a "small".

The chorizo bowl absolutely stole the show!…read more I ordered the chorizo bowl, Nancy had the Bad Ass Breakfast, and we split an order of blueberry pancakes. I've had the Bad Ass Breakfast before, and it never disappoints. The bacon is phenomenal, easily one of the highlights of that plate. But the chorizo bowl was on another level. There was a lot going on in that dish--chorizo, spinach, onions, pickled jalapeños, pickled onions, an egg, and several other ingredients. On paper, it sounds like a lot of competing flavors, but somehow everything worked perfectly together. What impressed me most was the balance. You had the richness and savory flavor of the chorizo, the tanginess and acidity from the pickled vegetables, the freshness of the spinach, and the egg bringing everything together. Every bite had a little something different, but nothing overpowered anything else. It was one of those dishes where you could tell the ingredients were thoughtfully combined rather than just thrown together. As far as heat goes, I'd give it a 2 out of 5. Enough spice to give it some personality without overwhelming the flavor. The blueberry pancakes were good, but nothing particularly special. Just solid pancakes. Overall, I've enjoyed the Bad Ass Breakfast before, but that chorizo bowl is what will bring me back. It's not often a breakfast dish with that many ingredients manages to be so well-balanced. Whoever put that combination together knew exactly what they were doing!

Biscuits, brisket, and sauces all tasted great together. My daughter's pancake was decent, but could have been better. Fruit bowl was good. Our server was super nice. He did a good job despite being occupied with several tables. Overall it was a very nice, cozy breakfast and brunch location.

John passed away in early 2024, while his family took over the shop in Pflugerville. Now just about a decade after opening shop, Brotherton's is closing down at the end of August. Following John's passing, they've hit a few road bumps from the rising cost of beef that's been plaguing Texas BBQ. Earlier in January they posted on social media how they were struggling, and again last spring. At the start of August, the Brotherton's family announced Brotherton's Black Iron BBQ in Pflugerville was shuttering for good at the end of August. Knowing this would be the last time I would be able to try it, my buddy and I took an extended lunch break on a Friday to give it a shot. Upon arrival at just around 11:50, we noticed that the parking lot was packed with multiple food trucks and other businesses filling the shopping center. We got lucky with a parking spot far away as we marched inside to wait in line. On the door lay plenty of stickers from different BBQ joints from Texas and beyond, with even some coming from overseas. The line moved slowly but surely, and as we got to the front we got our three-meat plate with a bonus slice of turkey for good measure. We ended up getting to Brotherton's at the perfect time because we got the final slices of brisket on that glorious Friday. I'll share my thoughts on everything we tried: Brisket: Though it looked like a great cut that was nicely seasoned, it was pretty fine overall. Nothing remarkable about their brisket while still very fatty. Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage: Juicy, cheesy, not really too spicy on the jalapeño side of things, but that might just be from the mildness of jalapeños these days. Pork Ribs: These suckers looked incredible from the pictures I saw online and on social media, but they were kinda disappointing based on how incredible they looked visually. They were good, just not as epic as I was hoping. Turkey: Turkey is underrated in the BBQ scene, and this is no exception. A nice cut of meat! Cornbread Casserole: I could've eaten the whole thing myself, so it was a shame that we were sharing. Green Chili Mac and Cheese: I'll repeat myself. I could've eaten the whole thing myself, so it was a shame that we were sharing. As a whole, I'm very glad I gave them a shot before I would never be able to again. That's the hardest part about Texas barbecue. The best places and the historic spots can drop in a moment's notice when hardships hit or the meat prices skyrocket. Sadly, I can tell that they're already at the end of their rope with certain menu options like the loaded nachos and baked potatoes, which always seem like the sign of the end. And with how the food was simply just decent overall, it's hard to justify the rising prices. I see reviews all over saying their quality has fallen off year after year following JMFB's passing, and it makes sense: he was the heart and the soul of the business. When that vaporizes overnight, it's only a matter of time. I don't wish for the downfall of any spot, but I understand that it's bound to happen to certain ones. RIYL: Paying respects to one of the greats in Texas BBQ

Wow! What an incredible experience at Sixty Vines in The Domain!…read more We made our reservation through OpenTable and mentioned that we were celebrating our anniversary. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. When we arrived at our table, we were surprised with a handwritten Happy Anniversary postcard and a beautifully presented gift--such a thoughtful touch that immediately made the evening feel special. Our server, Polina, was absolutely fantastic. She took the time to learn what styles of wine we enjoy and brought us a few samples before helping us choose an amazing wine flight. Her recommendations were spot-on! We also enjoyed a custom charcuterie board and the prosciutto & fig pizza, both of which were outstanding. To top it all off, Andrew, the manager, stopped by our table to make sure everything was perfect. We loved learning about Sixty Vines' unique wine-on-tap program and appreciated their commitment to sustainability, including composting food scraps. (They didn't have much to compost from our table--maybe a bite or two of pizza crust! ) The only disappointing part of the evening was that we had tickets to a show and couldn't stay longer to explore more of their incredible wine selection. Now, the wine flight. Dear god. Since it was evening and they couldn't make the espresso martini decaf (which did make me wonder whether they're using fresh espresso...), I went with the three-wine flight. The wines are pre-selected and, unfortunately, they were BAD. I genuinely couldn't drink the first one. The second, a rosé, was at least palatable but nowhere near cold enough. The final wine, a Malbec, was easily the best of the three, but by that point the bar was approximately on the floor. Thankfully, the actual wine list at Sixty Vines is incredible. I abandoned the flight, ordered glasses of wines I actually wanted to drink and all was right with the world again. Overall, the vibes were great, the food was delicious, the staff was fantastic about gluten free / celiac safety and the wines I chose myself were excellent. I'll absolutely be back. Next time, though, I'm skipping the special and ordering everything individually so I'm never again subjected to the mystery trio of wines they've decided constitutes Girl Dinner.

Perfect Birthday Celebration at Roaring Fork!…read more On Sunday I celebrated my birthday at Roaring Fork with my family, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The food was outstanding, and the view overlooking the quarry made the evening even more special. One of our favorite perks was that Happy Hour is available all day on Sundays. We started with a traditional margarita, a mango margarita, and a few mocktails, all of which were excellent. For appetizers, we shared the shrimp cocktail, fresh guacamole, and chicken flatbread. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and a great way to begin the meal. For our entrées, I ordered the cedar-planked salmon with miso soy glaze, and it was absolutely delicious. The salmon was perfectly cooked and practically melted in my mouth. My partner enjoyed the same dish and loved it as well. My youngest daughter ordered the New York strip steak with mashed potatoes, her boyfriend chose the ribeye steak with French fries (they definitely have expensive taste!), and my other daughter had the grilled rainbow trout. Every dish was beautifully prepared and thoroughly enjoyed. The red wine paired perfectly with our meal, and the staff graciously allowed us to bring a birthday cake, which made the celebration even more memorable. Between the exceptional food, beautiful atmosphere, great drinks, and attentive service, it was the perfect birthday celebration.
