15 pieces of crispy Fried chicken leg and thighs
    Shayer S.

Tried the new zabihah halal fried chicken under the new management and it's incredible. At the time of this review, the fried chicken isn't listed on Uber Eats or their in store menu but it's available and absolutely worth the 20 to 30 minute wait. The chicken is crispy, juicy, and spicy but not too spicy. Hands down the best halal fried chicken in Austin. My kiddo doesn't like spicy food but he will eat this chicken, taking huge sips of water in between bites. That is a testament to how good the chicken is! As far as I know, this is the only spot in Austin serving Middle Eastern broasted fried chicken. Halal Wings is probably the next closest option but this is better in every measurable way. I think there are just a few standout items here. Besides the fried chicken, I have also heard good things about the Zinger and the chicken tenders. The fries are average but get the job done. That said, the overall dine in experience leaves a lot to be desired. As we were walking in, a guy walking out warned us they are very rude here. Inside the place was empty and remained so, except one other family came in to eat. Most of the tables were dirty. There was only one person working and doing everything so I'm giving her some grace on both the mess and the unfriendly vibes. With that said, the ambiance, cleanliness, and the service do not match the menu prices. We will keep coming back for the fried chicken but definitely not to dine in. Hopefully this will be added to Uber Eats soon. Ratings: Cleanliness 2/10 Prices 3/10 Ambiance 3/10 Fried Chicken 10/10

    Fried Pickles

I order a 10 piece wings and Fried Pickles. Wings are perfectly cooked, flavor is spot on. Fried pickles, are stale, way overcooked, One man is running this place at night. The neighboring night life is keeping him busy. Which probably why my pickles are overcooked. Good for late night drunken eats.

    Just admire the size

This is my first time trying this place, and let me tell you! It did NOT disappoint. I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich, 10 wings with flavors of spicy lemon pepper, and hot garlic with a side of fried okra. Their prices are affordable and the food is magnificent!! It was such a basic meal but was so good! Made my night! The chef knows what he's doing! 10000000 our of 10! Also, they are NOT stingy with the ranch!!

I had the honey mustard chicken sandwich as well as spicy chicken sandwich here with fries and both were pretty good!

    Wings! To go!

Look. This is probably more of a three star place but I'm feeling generous and they definitely get bonus points for being open late and up north. A dark horse challenger to Pluckers, they are not, however someone picking up the phone and making me wings at 11:45 deserves a nod. Honestly the wings were not bad. The sauces are not as good as pluckers -- that's a real thing but I was happy with my decision. I got the Hot and Mercury Hot. Both sauces were a little lacking in real flavor but had some heat to them. The Mercury Hot isn't crazy hot but does look angry and is more heat forward and less flavorful. Maybe another pro tip would be to ask for your wings naked with sauces on the side. The bleu cheese dressing is a bit funky. I suggest sticking with ranch. After the fact I tried to put my finger on it and I figured it out. It IS FUNKY.. like bleu cheese! I mean a strong funk. Cheese forward. Maybe great on a salad but I think people who are combatting hot sauce are looking for something more akin to "Marie's" rather than something more flavor forward. I can't say that I'll be running back but in a pinch, I'm in.

I guess they maybe listened to my bad review and went back to serving the food that the previous owners had. It's back to being great.

Not a fan, the Cajun cheese fries were cold, the Cajun ranch made the whole order cold. The Philly cheese steak is made with ground beef.

A friendly gentleman, who I presume was the owner, greeted us at the front counter. He mentioned a couple of things they were testing at the moment and while we studied the menu, he brought out some samples. We ended up loving the cherry bbq sauce and my boys both selected that for their chicken. I chose to try their maple gochujang. Caspers has a few two top tables where the boys played a game of connect 4 while we waited. About 15 minutes later our food came out, including some house made cherry limeade and peach lemonade. We took it to some nearby picnic tables and dug in. I'm happy to say, the chicken was outstanding! All three of us were very impressed. I'd like to get my hands on a bottle of the sauce! That cherry bbq would be amazing on a smoked pork butt or some ribs. The maple gochujang was sweet and mildly spicy. The crinkle fries were also crispy, hot, and delicious. We washed it all down with those homemade drinks! Home run! He genuinely cares about his customers and it shows. He even offered samples of the tamarind lemonade, brown sugar lemonade, and hibiscus tea right away. That kind of hospitality instantly sets the tone. What impressed me most was how consistently attentive and kind he was to everyone -- adults, teenagers, and even little kids were all treated with the same great level of service. You can tell he's truly customer-service oriented. It's located in a shopping center so lots of parking. The menu is large with plenty of options to choose from. I decided on a bento box because I was craving bulgogi and jap chae, and this one came with both plus kimchi and pickled sides! I also ordered the tamarind lemonade, which wasn't too sweet exactly how I like it. I honestly wasn't planning on finishing everything in my bento, but it was so delicious that I did! The bulgogi was prepared just the way I like it. My sister-in-law is half Korean, and when we visit, her mom cooks amazing homemade Korean meals for us. I was really craving that comforting, authentic flavor today and Kochu absolutely satisfied it. The portions are generous and the value for the price is fantastic. Between the incredible customer service and the delicious food, this place is an easy 5 stars for me. Wish we had something like this South of Austin. I'll definitely be coming back and highly recommend it!

You can still see the flames leaping around in the kitchen and the cooks hustling. When you walk through the door, you'll be handed a 5 page menu or you can scan the QR code on a table. You have to stand in line, then you order, face the tip screen, then you are handed a number until it comes out. You'll notice they have a large selection of drinks off to the side, but they have no drink menu. They have beer, soju and even a few liquor bottles, but do they make mixed drinks? In other words, the drink equation here is a mystery (we settled for water). I ordered the beef Bulgogi plate and the wife got the bibombok bowl. For the money, you cannot beat the quality of the freshly prepared food. If you decide on the wings here, you'll notice they are quite popular, but the fries are nothing unique. Everything considered, this is still a great spot to fulfill that Korean cuisine fix. Informative photos included. It should be mentioned that they do a lot of "to go" business.

Today, I finally got an opportunity to taste this highly rated BBQ. People...the hype is real!!! We purchased a turkey leg, sausage, brisket (what they're known for) and chicken. We also got two sides of potato salad and dirty rice. I am not a big fan of brisket. However, the owner allowed me to have a sample of the brisket. I fell quickly, madly in love with the brisket. The brisket is so flavorful, tender and moist. So, so good!!! Next, I tried the turkey leg. The meat literally fell off the bone. Yummy to the Nth degree!!! Now, let me talk about this sausage...I have never eaten sausage this good. The sausage was (yes was...we ate it all!) dense, yet moist and super tasty. This sausage did not have a spec of grease. I think I ate most of the sausage. The chicken was also super moist and tender...made you want to slap yourself. The sides were good, however, the standouts without a doubt were the meats. The owner/chef was very personable, and highlighted the preparations associated with his menu items. He created a welcoming and chill environment... I highly recommend trying Bigg Belly BBQ...you will certainly enjoy your dining experience. Pro tip: Sunday and Monday Bigg Belly BBQ is closed.
