    Eggrolls

Wow. My first time here. I overheard a customer nearby classify this place as a "hidden gem." I have to agree so delicious and fresh. The food is great. The staff are so kind and welcoming. The napkins need some help. They could use an upgrade on napkins. Also there are no fountain or poured drinks. I try my best to avoid using one-time use plastics. Bottled drinks were the only options other than the coffee drinks. A cup of filtered water would have been perfect. Regardless, I will be back!

This review is for their takeout breakfast tacos. Normally we get our tacos from One Taco as it is close to the office. Today we were gifted with Yummis tacos. Never heard of Yummis but I'm pleased to report that their breakfast tacos come in as a strong 4-star! These are definitely Mexican street tacos served in a double-wrapped corn tortilla with salsa, cilantro, and onions. Corn tortillas are an option. My pork taco was perfect. I have had other pork tacos and the meat texture was dry to hard. This was not the case with my Yummi taco. Check out their menu as Yummis is more than a breakfast joint. Their eggplant taco intrigues me as does their bulgogi burger. Oh, they have a curry dish as well!!??!! Yummis goes right into my "I'm in the office" dining option!

For a yummy bite to eat go support the Austin local gem, Yummi Tacos & More! As their name implies, they make delicious tacos and a number of other things! All at very affordable prices. The tacos were $2.99 each, the banh mi was $5.99 and two eggrolls was $2.99. The service was excellent, very friendly. All of it was cooked fresh and delicious! This is the best little spot for your next Asian fusion craving.

Well, bring on the boos and hisses... While I love to support a good local business, I have a hard time giving much love to this business. I came in Thanksgiving week to pick up something for myself and my ride before heading into my surgery. Pre-surgery eats Kimchi fries Oh where do I start, the Kimchi for these fries weren't fresh which was such a let down as the kimchi is to be the star of this dish. The bulgogi for this dish was extremely oily so much so that all that could be tasted on this dish was the cooking oil. This dish was tossed. Chicken Burrito The store bought HEB tortillas wasn't the let down of this dish if you can believe it. It was the dried out chicken meat and lifeless veggies that were a real miss for me. Perhaps I caught this business on an off day as others seem to love this place. The two stars are given here for the friendly service and the ability to put "something" on a plate.

Just had the egg rolls and oh man... game changer. Crispy delicious goodness and the sauce was the perfect level of sweetness as well.

I had to come back again since the first experience was great. Ordered a simple banh mi chicken sandwich under $7 and in my opinion, still a great value. This is my 2nd Vietnamese sandwich and I am Vietnamese. The bread is crispy on the outside, soft and tender on the inside. The chicken is marinated in some broth so when you bite into the sandwich, it's not dry and it's a flakey chicken meat bite with a little bit of soy sauce and tang. The binder is the creamy mayo sauce so with one bite, you get the freshness of the vegetables, the pickled carrots and daikons are nice. In my opinion, I would like for them to be more pungent with vinegar but they are tame for the masses. I like the touch of white onions and lettuce, normally those are not inside but it's a nice addition. I love the chopped cilantro, sliced jalapeños, and boyyyyyy, they did not skimp out on the meat and vegetables. This is how a Vietnamese sandwich could and should be. Imagine if they added pate, man that would make this sandwich on another level. Very satisfied for under $7. Pro tip, ask for hot sauce togo. It needs it if you want another layer of flavor.

Beef Yummi Bowl (bilgogi beef with brown rice)

Perfect for lunch take out if you work in an office nearby. Beef bulgogi is great and the rice is good with some spicy sesame oil and the cream sauce on top is a bit spicy. The restaurant is fine. The people there are nice and always quick and helpful.

Absolutely fresh, hot and delicious! I got the beef bowl and it had so much flavor and nice and hot too! Friendly staff and clean restaurant.

Great food despite a very confusing menu! Service fast but zero customer service personality appeal. Zero ambiance, get your fix to go or delivered. Will be back because it's the best of both Mexican and Asian. Don't forget to try the egg rolls. Excellent- best in town. I'll have to leave extra time to decipher the menu before I try this place again!!!

Ask the Community - Yummi Tacos & More

Do they still sell Shirts? and if so how much are they before tax? and do they have men shirts?

What an absolutely ridiculous answer to a innocuous question, lol.

    Do they have gluten-free food?

Yes, you can get corn tortillas for the tacos or a Yummi bowl with rice.

They are in a "soft opening" phase currently, and we got to meet the owner who was very enthusiastic about his business, the community, and garnering any feedback we had. The food is - in one word, impeccable. We went in for a snack and ended up ordered 4x as much as we meant to because everything was so darn delicious. The menu consists of baos, sushi, hand rolls, adorable pearl shaped nigiri, bento, and more - they are all customizable with yummy sauces (miso butter - mmm!), and many types of protein (seriously like all the protein options you can find at a premium sushi bar). Everything is served with house made sauces so if you are a condiment gal/guy like me this is your place! Food - I had the escolar, unagi, and scallop hand rolls (all under $5 each) and was so surprised by the quality / freshness of the protein and the portions given. The escolar was so soft and buttery. I then ordered the shrimp fresh roll (also under $5, it was HUGE) and the chicken katsu baos (around $6-7) - they were amazing. The chicken tenders are panko crusted and fried crispy. BF tried the steak baos and LOVED them too. Okay also did I mention the PRICES?! You can't get quality food like that for a greater deal. Drinks are all $8 and hit the spot :) The interior is not completely redone / set up yet but I can't to come back when it is! The phone / QR code system makes it so easy to order. It is pretty cheap, but the serving sizes match the price, not really filling you up. The baos were pretty good. The char siu pork belly didn't look the most appealing. But it smelled and tasted pretty decent. They give you a good amount of meat too. The turmeric chicken was pretty good too, I really liked the seasoning on this one. The sushi was ok though. The presentations was super cute, with the little sushi balls! But the fish itself didn't taste as fresh as I would have liked. The workers were all really friendly though. You can practically see inside the whole kitchen when you walk in, so it's a little unsettling walking in and seeing all the workers like standing there waiting for you to put your order in online, but interacting with them, they were really friendly.

The ceviche was really tasty too. For sushi rolls, my favorites were the Cowgirl and the Lion King both were SO good, I would 100% order them again. The service was amazing. We were a group of 12 people and our waiter handled everything perfectly. Super attentive, friendly and made the whole experience even better. Also, the happy hour is definitely worth it. I tried the sangria and loved it. The ambiance is beautiful 10/10. Only thing to keep in mind is parking can be a bit tricky since it's in The Domain, but there are parking garages nearby. We came back to Blue Sushi Sake Grill after about 5 years, excited to give it another try. One…read morething we still really appreciate is their extended Happy Hour Monday-Saturday -- it's a great deal and gives you the chance to try a variety of dishes without spending a fortune. Unfortunately, despite ordering 10 different items, most of the food ended up being pretty underwhelming. Here's our breakdown from best to worst: Ama Ebi (4.5/5) - Probably the best dish of the night. The shrimp tasted fresh and sweet, and we especially loved that they included the deep-fried shrimp head. Crispy, flavorful, and a nice touch. Crispy Rice Cake (4/5) - Generous portion of spicy bigeye tuna on top. I actually liked that the tuna was roughly chopped instead of finely minced because you could really enjoy the texture. The tataki sauce added great flavor. My only complaint is the rice cakes could've been crispier and less oily. Bigeye Tuna Sashimi (4/5) - Good quality sashimi with nice-sized cuts. Their wasabi had a surprisingly strong kick, which I loved. We weren't served ginger with this dish, which may have just been a kitchen oversight. Tobiko Nigiri (3.5/5) - Our son enjoyed this one. The only thing that threw me off was how dark/black the tobiko looked. Not sure if it's naturally that color or enhanced somehow. Truffle Salmon & Yellowtail Serrano (3.5/5) - Tasted fine but didn't really stand out. Still worth trying during Happy Hour because the pricing makes it a decent value. Kids Bento Box (3.5/5) - Flexible options for kids with different proteins and carbs. The fruit served with it was fresh and sweet, which made the meal feel more balanced and healthier overall. Ceviche (3/5) - Pretty forgettable. Despite having a lot of ingredients, the flavors fell flat. It leaned heavily toward chopped shrimp and lacked citrusy brightness. We actually had to ask for extra lime wedges and remix the dish ourselves, and it tasted noticeably better afterward. Calamari (3/5) - I liked that the dish included tempura vegetables in addition to calamari, but everything was extremely oily. There was literally a puddle of oil sitting at the bottom of the plate, and oil dripped off the calamari when we picked it up. Mochi Ice Cream (1/5) - Easily the worst mochi ice cream I've had. The mochi texture was stale and crumbly instead of soft and stretchy. We tried black sesame and seasonal coconut. The black sesame barely had any flavor, though the coconut ice cream itself was slightly better because it had coconut bits mixed in. Service was good overall. Our waitress was newer but very kind and attentive. If she didn't know an answer, she checked with the team and came back with information instead of guessing, which we appreciated. One thing I do genuinely appreciate about this restaurant is how accommodating they are for gluten-sensitive diners. They offer a separate gluten-sensitive menu and are willing to modify many dishes, which makes dining out much easier for our household. Overall, the Happy Hour pricing and gluten-sensitive options are probably the biggest reasons we'd consider returning, but based on the food alone, the experience didn't live up to our expectations this time around.
