TaterQue's $1 Wing Wednesday never misses!! Everything is made fresh, so there's a bit of a wait--but when you get it... maaan, 10/10 every time. Laid-back vibes, '90s R&B always playing in the background, and the staff is consistently friendly. Oh yeah, my fave is the hot honey wings.

Feels like home ! Karaoke, music, and a little sauce on your hands I have been to Tater Que pretty often and it never disappoints. This spot of entertaining and laid back . My food is always fresh and seasoned. I got the mild wings today. They were tasty and I was able to get extra sauce on the side with no problem. I've have had the fish too and it was good. On Tuesday, they have taco Tuesday and the tacos are freshly good. The tacos are unique with Tater Que, they use items for tacos that are already on their menu. I love their own spin on the tacos. It can get a bit crowded but it is always a good time. This is also a good place to watch sports because tvs are from wall to wall. When they have a dj, he is so entertaining and interacts with the crowd . Pleaseee try the frozen drinks. All of them are very good Monday- reverse happy hour ($8 brisket nachos) Tuesday - Taco Tuesday (taco specials) Wednesday - wing Wednesday ($1 wings) Check out Tater Que. They will not disappoint!

I met a friend for lunch who I had not seen for months. She chose TaterQue mainly because it was voted one of Americas Best Restaurants by Travel Lens. Quite honestly, I was a bit hyped about dining at TatetQue. It's a vibe with sultry music playing in the background and a funky, cool interior. I was at TaterQue so I am going to have a spud. The seafood spud shrimp, crab and crawfish sounded good with Alfredo sauce on the side. It was not the typical large spud but a lot of small white new potatoes. It was extremely large, flavorful with lots of meat on the top layer. My honey cornbread was divine and I could have had a solo cornbread meal. I sampled my friend's brisket and fried wings. For a non-red meat lover most days, I was not enamored with the brisket. The honey bbq chicken wings, conversely, were the standout...soft crispy with perfect balance of bbq sauce and seasoning. I liked the honey biscuit but it was a bit dry in the center. Service was 24 carat gold southern hospitality. The cashier made me feel like I was visiting family. I wish all servers were like her with a service level of 5+++. I will come back for the corn bread and wings but look forward to trying the oxtails.

These wings are the bomb! Will definitely come here again for their delicious, lump, juicy, and meaty wings (I have not had in a long time!) The tater kegs are a must order too. Perfectly fried chunky mashed potato loaded with cheese and drizzled with sour cream. The Mac&Cheese monster kid refused the $7 Mac&Cheese that had too much 'black pepper'. Although it was a chill setting, It was 2ish and service was slow. Music was definitely my kind of music. My kid was even saying; "They are playing all your songs, mom!" Price wise, check the receipt! I didn't, and feel I was overcharged ($56) for the wings, tater kegs and Mac&Cheese.

Ok we came back and tried the big potato with all the meats, I went into a food coma and we also tried the fried Mac and cheese eggrolls...so good! We use them at my job for catering sometimes as well and the owners are so nice and go above and beyond with service and the food we never have leftovers. I also like their vegan spud it is surprisingly tasty to me!!

Nice well kept establishment luckily when we went there (around 3pm) there was only 1 person sitting down eating. I ordered the big jack consisting of BBQ ribs, sausage and brisket over potatoes with BBQ sauce y'all I had so much food my eyes was definitely bigger than my stomach. My hubby had the street tacos and fries. The food was good, the staff were friendly.

Second time here and it slapped just as hard this go around. The staff is amazing and helpful guiding you through all of their amazing options. Their purple drink (Jag Juice) is outstanding by the way.. We feel welcomed and appreciated when we come here... Will for sure be back. Don't let the prices deter you. I assure you it's worth every penny...

I had a great experience last Sunday here. We came when they were having brunch. There was music playing and the vibes were vibing. You have to order your food at the counter and they will bring it out to you. It took a minute for our food to come out but I think it's because they didn't have much help and it was a good amount of people there. All the food was so delicious. It had me in a food coma afterwards. I will definitely be back for more especially for those honey bbq wings.

I've been here several times and I've always only ordered the boudin egg rolls and the purple alcoholic drink, so rightfully I've never done a review here as I haven't truly eaten any of the entrees. Also, the menu initially didn't really have anything that I really liked. It looks like there might be more items on the menu now because I saw a few things that I wanted to try, but I'm not 100% sure on that. Well.... I tried the food! Boy, oh boy was the Alamo delicious!!! Delicious! All this time I've been sleeping on the food. The baked potato was flavorful and plentiful. I ordered the junior. On Saturdays and Sundays, they have a DJ.

TaterQue - Soul Food & BBQ with Heart in Pflugerville The moment you step into TaterQue in Pflugerville, you feel right at home. The music is pumping, the energy is high, and the smell of smoked meats hits you right away. It's the kind of atmosphere that tells you immediately you're in the right place -- lively, welcoming, and full of flavor. A Feast Worth the Trip We came to feature some of TaterQue's top dishes, and the lineup didn't disappoint: Oxtails & Grits (served Saturdays) Soul Food Platter (weekends only) 10 Wings with seasoned fries Two-3 Brisket on a bun with Fab 5 Mac Boudin Egg Rolls Every plate came with personality, but one dish stood tall as the undisputed star. The Soul Food Platter - A Weekend Showstopper The Soul Food Platter is everything you want in a comfort food spread and more. It comes loaded with oxtails, fried catfish, cornbread, greens, and mac and cheese -- a little bit of everything, and every single bite top-notch. The oxtails were melt-in-your-mouth tender, falling off the bone with deep, soulful flavor. The cornbread, draped in honey butter, was so decadent it felt like eating dessert -- sweet, rich, and unforgettable. The greens were among the best I've had in a decade, flavorful and cooked to perfection. And the mac and cheese? Creamy, indulgent, and exceptional. Put it all together, and this platter alone is worth planning a Saturday trip. Wings That Surprised Us As much as the soul food platter impressed, the wings with seasoned fries still managed to surprise. Perfectly fried with a crisp bite and full-flavored batter, they were an unexpected standout -- proof that even the "simple" items on this menu are given just as much care. Other Favorites The brisket on a bun paired with Fab 5 Mac was classic BBQ comfort, smoky meat balanced beautifully with creamy mac. The boudin egg rolls offered a creative, crave-worthy twist on tradition. And the oxtails & grits on their own? Southern-style richness that you'll want to revisit again and again. The Heart of TaterQue - Bobbie & Bobby What truly sets TaterQue apart is the husband-and-wife team behind it, Bobbie and Bobby. From the moment we walked in, Bobbie (with an ie) greeted us with a hug, radiating warmth and passion. You can feel her love for her restaurant, her staff, and her customers in everything she does. Bobby (with a y) brought his own spark -- funny, personable, and down-to-earth, with a perfectionist streak balanced by a big-picture understanding of life, family, and good food. Sitting down with them felt like sitting down with old friends, and that sense of family pours right into the dining experience. Final Thoughts TaterQue isn't just a restaurant -- it's family. It's down-south, big-city flavor served up in a mom-and-pop setting that makes the experience a little different, a little better. You can feel the love in the hospitality, and you can taste the love in every bite. If you're craving soul food that feels like home, or BBQ that carries a story, TaterQue is the trip you need to make.

Dropped in to kill some time and grab a bite to eat... and left super impressed yet again! The vibe here is perfectly laid-back....chill atmosphere, no pretension, just a spot to relax with great drinks and food. Shoutout to the beer master Eric behind the bar! He's incredibly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about what he pours. He shared this awesome line that stuck with me: "Every good beer has a story, and the story should be told!" Made the whole experience feel more personal. I went with tap #13, Juicy Fish--a hazy IPA from WeldWerks Brewing Co. at 8.6% ABV. Wow, what a juicy, flavorful beast! Packed with tropical hops, smooth, and dangerously easy to drink for that ABV. Definitely hit the spot. For food, I had 5 wings tossed in the Blazin Ghost Pepper sauce. It's described as a smoky blend with mild ghost pepper heat, and it delivered exactly that....great smokiness upfront, building warmth without incinerating your mouth (perfect if you like heat but not torture level). Wings were crispy, juicy, and tender too. Rounded it out with the Carnivore pizza, loaded with meats and just the right amount of char on the crust. Hand stretched and fresh, it paired really well with the beer. If you're in the Pflugerville area and love craft beer (especially with knowledgeable staff who actually talk about it), wings, or pizza, this place is a winner. Will definitely be back again and again to catch more of the rotating taps and hear more stories from Eric! Get em while you can. They are Beer today gone tomorrow.

The waiter said it's a misprint and supposed to say 10 minimum. That was frustrating and sad because we would go every Tuesday if we could order less, 10 is way too much for all 3 of us and all 3 like different flavors so sharing won't work either. Drum roll...The Rolling Rooster. Honestly, you've got to love the name. The Rolling Rooster is located in a strip center at the corner of Mopac and Wells Branch Parkway. It looks small from the outside, but once you step in, it opens up into a surprisingly spacious dining area. It's not fancy, but it has a warm, homey feel. We were greeted right away by Edna, who handled both hosting and serving. She was friendly and welcoming, embodying that classic Texas Southern hospitality. The atmosphere was cozy, with a smooth R&B playlist spinning in the background. As you'd expect, the restaurant focuses on Southern comfort food...think fried chicken, wings, and waffles. The standout for me was the catfish: crispy, flavorful, and coated with a slightly heavier cornmeal crust than usual, which added a nice texture. We both went with the 2 | 2 combo...two meats and two sides...choosing fried chicken wings and catfish. For sides, we had yams, fries, Mac n cheese and my favorite...grits. The food tasted like something straight out of a family kitchen...comforting, hearty, and satisfying. Portions were generous and reasonably priced, so much so that we didn't have room for dessert on the spot. We did, however, grab some banana pudding to go and I'm glad we did. It was absolutely delicious and the perfect sweet ending to the meal. The hubby and I got to enjoy some quality time while he enjoyed one of his favorite meals...a win-win! Happy Father's Day!

The website paints a picture of a beach‑side getaway: easygoing, flavorful, relaxed. That's exactly why our visit felt so mismatched. My partner and I ordered the Perfect Storm sampler and 10 bone‑in wings, split between Garlic Ginger and Garlic Parm. The wings came mixed with flats and drums, which was fine, but both flavors were so greasy that we had to wipe them down before eating. And not just a little sheen -- I mean the kind of oiliness that dulls the seasoning and clings to your fingers. The Garlic Ginger had a nice aromatic profile underneath, but the fat muted it. The Garlic Parm leaned heavy, with the grease overshadowing any sharpness from the garlic or cheese. The sampler didn't fare much better. The fries were soggy and limp, the kind of texture that tells you the oil temperature dropped or the batch sat too long. The shrimp and mozzarella were edible, but lacked crispness -- everything felt weighed down instead of bright or crunchy. When fried food loses its structure, it loses its appeal, and that's exactly what happened here. From a food‑critic standpoint, the issue wasn't flavor -- it was technique. Grease is a symptom. It usually means the oil wasn't hot enough, the baskets were overloaded, or the fry time wasn't adjusted. When the oil temp drops, moisture stays trapped inside the food, and instead of crisping, it absorbs the fat. That's how you end up with wings that feel slick instead of snappy and fries that collapse under their own weight. And that's where the disconnect with the branding hits hardest. The website promises "hot and crispy wings with a 100% chance of cold, frothy beers," "jumbo‑sized wings," and "an escape from the ordinary." What we received felt more like a kitchen struggling to keep up -- heavy food, tired textures, and none of the crispness that defines good fried comfort food. The frustrating part is that the service was excellent. Our server was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind -- the kind of person who makes you feel taken care of before the food even arrives. But the kitchen execution didn't rise to meet that level. When the service is top‑tier and the food feels like an afterthought, the imbalance becomes impossible to ignore. Great people, but the food didn't match the promise or the care they put into the experience. We wouldn't return.
