This stand alone food truck is kind of hidden in a neighborhood, which is why I feel like business is not as popping as the other food trucks that are out in the open less than half a mile away. I highly recommend trying this place out, as their bbq is pretty good and fair priced + their employees are super sweet!!!!! We ordered the baked potato with brisket, a pound of brisket, and the 4 meat plate. The baked potato was the ABSOLUTE BEST. The potato was so soft, and it was smothered in butter. You could even eat the skin because it wasn't too thick. Brisket pieces were extremely flavorful. The pound of brisket was good with the bread and bbq sauce, but I definitely would've preferred to eat it with some onions and pickles too. I didn't think to ask for some because I just wanted to take the food home asap cuz I was starving lol. Only a few onions were included in our meals as can be seen in the photos. We wanted to get the pulled pork for the 4 meat plate, but the employee said they had just placed it into the smoker, which was a bummer because we really wanted to try it. They also said they didn't have sausage available. We had come at around 1240pm. We ended up just doubling up on brisket and ribs. Some parts of the meat were very tender but some of the other parts were dry and tough. Additionally, it seemed to be lacking the smoky flavor and was a bit on the blander side, but the bbq sauce made up for it! For the two sides, we got potato salad and creamed corn. They made the creamed corn fresh and hot, and when I say it was hot, I mean it was so hot even when we brought it back to the hotel that I had to spit it out because I burned my tongue HAHA. The creamed corn wasn't as sweet as the creamed corn I've had in the past, it was more buttery, which I had no problem with. Still had that nice creamy texture though! They have very minimal seating, and the charcoal stench was a bit too strong for me, so it wasn't the most ideal place to dine at. Therefore, we just took it to go! They take Zelle, cash, or card, but if you do card, they will charge an extra service fee, so keep that in mind. Parking is not a big issue, you can just park on the side of the street. read more

The brisket yesterday at Reese Bros in SA was better, but this brisket is awesome, just not enough bark and smoke for me. But the infusion of Mexican culture with tacos, tamales, and fresh salsa, and great people more than made up for it. Definitely worth a stop when you're in the area or passing through on I-35. read more

Really disappointed. The brisket was so dry and already oxidized by the time it was served. You can tell they cut the strips long before it was served. The ribs and pulled pork were ok nothing special. The only reason i'm giving this a 2 and not a 1 is because the cream corn was good. It took so long to get the food ready which shouldn't be the case because everything is cooked already just needs to served. Rudys is much better which if you know, is a mid tier bbq place. The location itself was basically a junk yard which was really weird. Overall would not recommend. For advice, you need a holding oven to hold your briskets at the proper temperature and only cut the strips right before serving because exposing them to air dries them out. read more

Hidden in the cusp of Pflugerville is this absolute GEM of a barbecue truck. The brisket, ribs and breakfast tacos were absolutely amazing. What really makes this such a great restaurant is how sweet the owner and daughter were. They are truly genuine and love what they do - and it clearly shows! I enjoyed the BBQ here! I've lived in TX all my life and love great bbq. Tho costs have skyrocketed on food, theirs was reasonable compared to other big name guys. I ordered their brisket wrap, chopped sandwich, cream corn, and a baked potato. I really enjoyed all of it. Brisket wrap was moist. Potato was simply spectacular. This place is a hidden gem. Unfortunately it is plagued by never ending road construction with detour signs. Don't sleep on the fact that this food truck sits at the end of his property surrounded by the wood he uses to cook his meat. It is worth the trouble and experience. They aren't the best in town but worth a try. Palates are different. BRING CASH so that there aren't any surprises. Just got a pulled pork sandwich, and as a BBQ connoisseur, I can say without hesitation that it was the best pulled pork sandwich I've ever had! Melt in your mouth tender, with a visible smoke ring in the pork shoulder and homemade BBQ sauce to go with it. I could have eaten two whole sandwiches easily (and will next time)! You can see the smoking pits and wood used to smoke all their meets. Get this while it's a food truck bc I would not be surprised in the least if this becomes Austin's next big thing in barbecue! Some of the best BBQ I've ever had. Burger was great, but we also got the 2 meat sampler with chicken and ribs, both meats were so good. What really got me was the baked potato with brisket. Brisket was so just and flavorful , and large portions. I'll be craving Red's now. The sides were also great (love the creamed corn). I used to love this place. However, today I went and got creamed corn with a brisket sandwich. When I went to eat it it was 95% fat so I had nothing to eat. Let alone pricing went up so I just wasted $10.50. I also didn't get any change but I let it go because normally it's so good. I honestly don't know who is giving this place good ratings - and why. This place is basically a messy food truck in someone' garbage-filled yard. There was a lot of construction debris strewn about the yard, along with empty beer cans and other loose garbage. Because of the great reviews on the food, I tried to keep an open mind and try the food. I asked the guy in the food truck if they take credit card, because I was buying lunch for work. He showed me an ATM machine, and I told him that I needed to use a credit card for work. He said okay, but he definitely expressed annoyance about it. When he gave me my food, he was grumpy and didn't respond when I thanked him for the food. When I got to work and ate the food, the flavor of the brisket and ribs was okay, not amazing like some reviews are saying. We had Red's cater my son's graduation party and it was perfect! They even accommodated a special order for turkey on the three meat plate. The food arrived hot and cooked to perfection. I am very picky and from south Texas where my late Grandpa used to slow smoke brisket for every large event. The bar is high and they met it!!!! Utensils, plates, bread, sauce, pickles, onion, jalapeños all came with the meal. They were so courteous with providing a prompt quote, prompt delivery, and so friendly to speak with on the phone. They take Zelle which is very convenient because we were traveling from Houston to Pflugerville for this event. I would recommend you have them cater your next event. At first glance, I was like "Are we going to someone's house, WTH?" As we got closer, a huge chicken & long horn towers over the food truck. We ordered the family pack and got brisket and sausage with beans and potato salad as our sides. First off, I'm not a huge fan of the fatty part of the brisket, and that's what was given. So I was a little disappointed, but it was good and flavorful. Not very heavy smoked and sausage was really good. Beans were amazing and potato salad was great. Pickles, onions, jalapeños & bread were individually packed nice and neat. I a firm believer that bbq sauce is a huge no-no and great smoked meat shouldn't need it, but the sauce was a Pleasant surprise and it accent the fatty brisket. There is only one table to sit at, and it's pretty close to the smoker. We got the two meat plate (sausage and pulled pork), but Red gave us a small sample of pork ribs. Wow!
