She got chicken and some sides. Brussels sprouts and something else. I got lemon pepper wings, cause I've never had them here before, and they were outstanding. Lemon pepper wings were 6 and they had great flavor, you could see the seasoning on them. So good. Juicy and pipping hot fresh. I also got Mac and cheese as a side. Great prices and great portions! Super quick service! I came by during the lunch time rush, but nothing felt rushed at all! It was a good calmness to the storm and they were able to get everything out in a timely manner. We've known about this place for a while but never made the stop in to try them out. We came before the Sunday lunch rush and we were able to order our food and find a table easily. We opted for moist brisket and sausage, along with sides of cole slaw and cucumber tomato salad. The meats were okay, though we much prefer them with their bbq sauce. Without the sauce, both the brisket and sausage didn't have much flavor and neither stood out. The cole slaw was good and the cucumber tomato salad was very good. Both were refreshing and well-balanced. These were the highlights of our meal. They have a friendly ambiance in a big open space. I like how they have paper towels and bbq sauces available for each table. We chose a booth and the paper towel dispenser was drilled into the wall. Parking can be a challenge during peak hours as they share a lot with other businesses. Overall, Stiles can be a good choice for a quick meal, but we wouldn't travel in from out of town to eat here. read more

So I really like stiles switch on Lamar and was in this area so thought I'd give it a try. The place looked super nice and clean. Staff were very helpful and quick with it. No complaints there. I hate to say but it's definitely below par when it came to the meats. Just wasn't the same. All of it was a lot tougher. The sausage seemed under cooked. The brisket wasn't hitting like the one on Lamar. The wings were even chewy. It wasn't enjoyable. Sides were all good. But whatever is different between the two, I hope they fix that asap. I've been visiting here for the last 3 months. Being a biased North Carolinian, I couldn't find a BBQ joint that I loved let alone liked. But one day my partner and I visited on a quiet afternoon. It was packed at all (although I've been here on days it is). We shared a three meat combo; brisket, burnt ends, and pork ribs with Mac and cheese and baked beans... with a sweet tea of course. The brisket was tender and juicy! It came with a side of sauce but I preferred it plain. The burnt ends fulfilled all of my taste buds desires!!! Sweet, salty, tangy, kick of spice. And as for the pork ribs, the pulled off the bone with ease. I will say on the first visit, the mean what heavily season with coarse ground pepper which could've been over powerful for some but something told me to try it on another day and it wasn't like that. So I would say there are probably a rotation of cooks. The beans were good not sweet like the Carolinas but they were good. And as for the macaroni/shells and cheese, I've noticed throughout Texas they all have a Velveta based sauce. It has a thick and creamy texture to it. I will also like to add that I've placed an order on UberEats and via phone call. The in-person customer service is far superior than on the phone. And to the worker name Cole, I'll never forget the laugh you gave when you thought I was with the large party. We laugh about it each time I visit. Haha. I've been here a few times now since we visit our family in Austin occasionally. This is an excellent location for delicious bbq if you don't want to deal with long waits. The seating inside is comfortable and air conditioned. They offer outdoor seating in the front patio, too. The service at the ordering counter is friendly and helpful, very much a staple of Texas. The bbq meats are all delicious. The brisket and pork ribs are off the charts. Very tender, smokey, and flavorful; I love that sweet glaze finish they add to the ribs. The turkey and pulled pork were good, too, but pretty on par with many other bbq joints. The sides are decent, but the stars are brisket and ribs. A lot of my fellow yelpers are bragging on this place and there's over 350 reviews. I've enjoyed their Lamar location in Austin, which is what had me coming here. In case you're not in the mood for barbecue, there are some other restaurants in the same strip center. Rosatis pizza, Momo sushi and Shiplys donuts next door. There's even P Terry's directly across the street. Inside there's plenty of seating, including covered seating outdoors. I do like the fact they have a one to three meat combo, but boy are they expensive! Before you order you can grab a dessert, beverage, small bottle of wine or an iced down beer in their trough. As you proceed through the line, they'll slice, plate and prepare your order. At the checkout, I was surprised they didn't flip the tip screen over on me, but there is a tip line on the bill for you to fill out or add to the jar. They do have some daily specials and on my visit it was some really delicious looking brisket burgers. I have to admit their potato salad and coleslaw are above average, especially with some jalapeños that are sliced into the coleslaw adding some heat. All the meat was tender, juicy, and had the perfect smoke ring. Their post oak smoked course ground peppered meats could compete with the best. Their barbecue sauce is the perfect match and their soft yellow potato bread is a great pairing. I got my order to go, and when I got home, I discovered they had accidentally given me a free order of their homemade fries. Definitely a great barbecue dining spot worthy of the price. 4.5 My husband and I returned to Stiles Switch BBQ as we were in the area. We drove up, parked, went in line , placed our order, got our food, and then paid and sat down to eat in the restaurant. We both ordered the brisket sandwich and a side of potato salad and a tater tots casserole. The brisket sandwich was delicious and very filling. The potato salad was good as it had chunks of potatoes which I liked. The tator tot casserole surprised me. It was yummy. It had tator tots with cheese, chives, and bacon. I'll be honest, their menu has A LOT going on but if you try a few things I doubt they'll disappoint. While this is a mid-upper range priced BBQ the quality is fairly consistent each time with a good portion of food. I don't eat brisket that much anymore cause it disagrees with my body but theirs is so tasty. Also if you like turkey PLEASE try theirs it's so flavorful. Their mac and cheese is okay like 7/10, tasty but not my favorite. Their brussels sprouts are good. Their fries are good. Their cornbread casserole is very delicious also. Can I just say Wow?! I was craving turkey and banana pudding, so I had to pop in here and grab lunch. My turkey sandwich was overflowing with thick slices of BBQ turkey.  It was too much for me, so I was able to have turkey sandwiches after I finished this one!  The bun was toasted, giving the sandwich a nice crunch. I added lettuce and tomato and was pleased with how fresh they were. The banana pudding was good--there was a good ratio of pudding, wafers, and whipped topping. The only negative was that I found it too sweet. But it's pudding, so I should have expected that as a possibility. We stopped in to grab a quick dinner, they had folks in the dining room but we were able to walk in and order right away. The folks behind us ordered quick as well. It's a nice location, plenty of comfortable seating and many tv's if say you wanted to keep an eye on college ball while you eat. We had the three meat plate, brisket, sausage, pulled pork with beans and Mac n cheese. As well as the Texas Fritos pie! (Brisket, chile concarne sauce), and cucumber & tomato salad. The food is so dang good. Listen it is a little pricey, but the quality to me is worth it. The whole dang world is expensive right now, of course the cost of food is included. The dining areas is clean with a warm and exciting feeling to the patio or booths. This place is perfect for any occasion and especially after work when you don't want to cook. The Wife and I have decided to try and find the best, and maybe worst Frito Pie in Austin, if we travel elsewhere like San Antoine we may try there but focusing on Austin. Shana picked first and chose Stiles Switch. We have no set time frames, we are hoping once a month but it is also supposed to be fun so it may be less or more depending. The place is in a little shopping center and when we arrived there was not any wait but it got busier while we were there. They have two types of Frito Pie, so we decided we would each get one and share bites. Shana got the pulled pork Frito Pie and I got the brisket Frito Pie, I did ask for the sour cream to be taken off and it was not but otherwise it was fast and good service and we got our food quickly. There is lots of seating, tables, long tables, booths, whatever your choice or preference and several TV's around playing different sports. It was pretty chill over all as well. The staff was super friendly and fast. Both the Frito Pies were very good but Shana's gets the nod, hers was better than mine. We tried the Bayou Classic Sausage too due to my Cajun roots and while it was okay, Shana liked it way more than I did. We did try the frozen margaritas which were good. Above average and a pleasant surprise. Shana also tried the potato salad but I passed on sides due to the size of the Frito Pie. Now to the Finding Fritos part, the chili was good, the Fritos crunchy. They were presented very well with a fun garnish to give it color. They were very very good. As I stated Shana's won but the brisket one I got was a close 2nd. The pulled pork was better than the brisket. Shana came here from TN and has loved the BBQ but has been disappointed by the pulled pork options. This was the best IHO since leaving TN. High Praise as most things about TN she was more than happy to leave behind. The brisket was solid but not top tier. Still a great first pick and Shana pulls ahead on that score. This is my favorite BBQ place in Austin. I probably eat here 2-3 times a month. I always get their half chicken plate which is delicious.

And absolutely outstanding barbecue restaurant. It makes it on many of the top 10 list for Austin for good reason. It was only me so I had to pass on the beef ribs which are sold in a month that far exceed the amount I could eat at one sitting. I opted for the brisket and I couldn't be happier. Mr Brown has definitely come to town on that plate. I should always be the case the size were not just there for decoration. The pinto beans were as good as I've ever had. The mac and cheese didn't let me ignore it and the hash brown casserole completely put me over the top. It's a good thing I worked out hard that day. And of course they've got a great big galvanized tub full of cold beer on ice. And of course, if you're in a snobby mood you can ask to taste a bunch of different craft beers and hold everybody up in line. Best pulled pork I've had in ages. Evan though this restaurant is in a strip mall, the bbq and sides are legendary. My husband and I had the pulled pork sandwich. He had slaw ands I had the Brussel sprouts. The sprouts were roasted with a maple flavoring and a bit of balsamic glaze. I could have just eaten those. Both were delicious. The meat was piled high with a delicious smoky flavor. It didn't even need bbq sauce. It was moist but not greasy and very tender, not stringy. Our friends got the two meat plates with brisket and turkey , sprouts and cheesy tater tots. They had eaten here before and knew it was good. There was nothing left. Went here for the Wednesday special which was the smoked prime rib. Overall the prime wasn't bad, the other piece of the meat was very tender and juicy but the center was a bit dry. Oak smoked wings had a slightly smoky flavor but the sauce was had too much mayo for my taste but the wing was nice and juicy. Corn casserole is my favorite side here. Sweetness of the corn and the pop is always great. Service is always great here. They always cut the meat to pretty close to what you want. Tom of seating indoor and outdoor for when the weather is nice those few days in Austin/cedar park. The vibe is what you expected from a bbq restaurant. read more
