Lazy G BBQ Company in Cedar Park is exactly what it sounds like: lazy. For a BBQ joint in Texas, where the standard is high, this place is embarrassingly bad. Rudy's BBQ should be the baseline, yet Lazy G doesn't even reach that. I ordered the ribs and brisket, hoping for something decent, but both were far below average. The brisket was especially disappointing--you could see the congealed fat right in the slices (see pictures). Serving meat at the right temperature is BBQ 101, and their failure here made the texture and flavor a cold, greasy mess. The sides weren't any better. The cucumber salad was bland, with just a dusting of dill and no seasoning whatsoever. Adding salt and vinegar should be a no-brainer, but apparently, even the basics were too much effort here. I was excited to try the smoked mushroom side (as a mushroom lover), but it was downright unpleasant. There was zero smokiness, and the sauce tasted like a watered-down BBQ sauce, giving the button mushrooms a soggy, unappetizing texture. The BBQ sauce was another letdown--it tasted like bottled Sweet Baby Ray's. For a BBQ place, using (or at least mimicking) store-bought sauce is the ultimate red flag that they just don't care. Even at $22 for a two-meat plate, the quality doesn't justify the price. In short, Lazy G BBQ Company doesn't just fall short--it doesn't even try. I would go back just for that pork belly with the black pepper bark! OMG........ My husband never eats mac and cheese and I'll be darned if he didn't finish my Trashy Mac and Cheese for me that evening! Finally! Some mac and cheese that is actually delicious and creamy. The toppings of brisket, bbq sauce, french onions and jalapenos all stirred together makes each bite a little slice of heaven. WOW! The next morning he said, "I kept telling myself I need to leave a little bit more for Lee Lee but I kept opening it back up and eating more until it was all gone!" Good thing I had my bites right when we arrived at our hotel because I was so hungry. My husband ordered sliced brisket and we lucked out and got a few of the brisket burnt ends. They weren't all "candified" like a lot of the other bbq places serve; but they were smoky and delicious. I also enjoyed the potato salad. We were excited to order the smoked mushrooms but honestly, they could have used a bit more flavor for me. You could just tap the salt shaker and it would have been fine. I appreciated the creative side dish and love how the bbq scene has doubled down on the side hustle! It was cold out so we sat on the enclosed patio that had heaters and were very comfortable. I've driven by the food park many times, finally pulled in. At 2 on Saturday this is the only trailer open, so BBQ it is. The standout is obviously the ribs. They are big, there's a phenomenal crust, the bbq sauce is good, though I wish it wasn't there, I'm not a wet rib lover, but it really was good. The dirty rice was pretty good, and the mac and cheese needed...something, a dash of paprika, or something to give it a sharpness, I don't know, but also good and my daughter liked it. I really liked the pickles too. We Will definitely be back to check out the brisket. read more

The brisket here is phenomenal and arguably the best I've had in the area. My husband and I stopped here on a whim on the weekend. We were not disappointed! Unfortunately, the turkey was sold out (what I wanted the most). So we ordered sausage and brisket. The brisket was so tender. His barbecue sauce is delicious! Showed up at 11am on a Monday. Now I know why most BBQ joints are closed on Mondays. They're all tuckered out from the weekend. Lazy G's might as well close down on Mondays too. One poor dude manning the station. Was nearly wiped out on ingredients. No brisket. No potato salad. Sausage was sooooo dry and nasty. Passed by the Good Lot and thought about going to Four Brothers. I noticed there was a new truck I hadn't seen before and it was BBQ! How serendipitous because I had been craving a smoked barbecue turkey sandwich. I was happy to fine they had exactly that on the menu. So that's what I ordered, plusa side of mac & cheese. I got it all to go, brought it home and made my belly extremely happy! The turkey was tasty, and moist and didn't even really need the barbecue sauce. The house made pickles were a wonderful added touch. It only took about 10 minutes for me to get my meal packed up to go and it was all done with a smile. Stopped into this bbq place in a little food truck area tucked away in Cedar Park. Ordered the moist brisket, turkey, potato salad, and fruit salad. It came with 2 types of bbq sauce with the 2 meat plate. The food was amazing and the bbq sauce was phenomenal!! Each sauce complimented the meat so well it was so delicious. Great BBQ sausage and very interesting sandwiches. In addition to the normal sliced and chopped they offered an amazing strawberry glazed smoked Turkey sandwich with goat cheese. I hope they keep this on their menu. One we did not try was the pork belly blt. The chopped bbq beef is good, sausage was a hit and the sides are really nice. I stop by eat my biscuits sometimes, it's nice to have a little food park in CP. Decided to give these guys a try, It was fire I had some brisket, pork ribs, and burnt ends. All dang good, and the best BBQ I have had in CP. I love their vinegar based sauce, gives it a great kick. maybe more than anything else BBQ sides are usually boring, the dill based potato salad was bomb. Mac and cheese was good too. The pickles they served with the plate were excellent. I stopped late afternoon, way past lunch, so they deserve more than 5 stars for it still being good late. 10 stars!!!! read more

Holy Cow and pig is this BBQ awesome...forgot to take pics before we devoured but we had the sliced brisket samich and the pork ribs with the trashy mac and cheese, potatoes salad, coleslaw,and pinto beans...so tasty down to lickin the box....sampled the burnt pork belly ends and they were super tasty as well...yall need to come and support these guys...its not often that my wife does the yummy dance but she definitely did it more than a few times today, and thanks for saving us the ribs Garrett. I have been following Lazy G BBQ on Facebook for a while now but had never eaten there. Today after church my wife and I decided to go. My wife ordered the hamburger made from brisket trimmings and I ordered the burnt ends. The food was absolutely delicious. The hamburger was cooked perfectly and you could definitely taste the smoked brisket. I would definitely order this again and again. The burnt ends were great. The smoked BBQ flavor was awesome and they were very moist with crispy edges. Everything you could want in burnt ends. The food truck is on the property of a church along the road and sits on a beautiful grassy tree lined area with a couple of picnic tables. This is a great setting. Highly recommend Lazy G BBQ.
