Went out for a night of karaoke with friends. This place was tucked away in a shopping center like a hidden gem. We were seated in a back room Since we had reserved it for karaoke. The vibe was nice, music selections was a bit outdated but we still enjoyed ourselves. The food was delicious and I'd come back to grab takeout if I'm in the area.

There has been an influx of Korean restaurants, but KPUB makes it feel like a version of Koreatown (similar to the one in LA) is coming to Austin. A chicken, beer, soju, and eatery, it's been in the Cedar Park area with karaoke, authentic Korean food, and a lot of, you guessed it, soju. ---- Review Summary Pros: - Plenty of parking - Traditional Korean dishes - Full bar (soju to whiskey) - Karaoke rooms - Fair prices for food and drinks - Korean music blasting Side Notes: - Can make resys for larger parties - Closed on Mon and for lunch hours - Order via food apps What We Got: - Misc dishes - Karaoke room - Terra and Soju ---- Detailed Review Design/Space: Being from LA, this felt like a 술집 ("sul-eul jib" drinking home/place) in the heart of Koreatown. From KPOP (pop to hip-hop) to sports playing, the only difference is that you get the Dodgers or the Lakeshow games in LA. There are plenty of spots to sit with small to large groups, the bar seating, and private karaoke rooms to eat, sing, and drink with friends. Food/Drinks: You'll find your fan-faves from KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) to the rare things I love, such as chicken gizzards. You get a full bar, from Jameson to Johnny Walker Black, and then your choice of soju brands and beers (IPA to Asian-based beers). Like many Korean spots around town that serve soju, they know all the Korean games to drink and how to make every Korean drink, such as Somaek (소맥 - beer and soju mix). Staff: The owners are from LA, so they brought that vibe, food, and overall experience to Austin (Cedar Park). The staff is very friendly. My cousin recently lost his phone, and not only did they find it, but the manager charged it. Opportunities To Improve: This location has events and more, so check out its IG. It would be nice if it was open for lunch, but you might be tempted to drink soju during the day, which could be good or bad (it's 5 p.m. somewhere, right?). ---- Overall Summary If you want to spend a night out with friends, drinking soju and singing songs at the same spot, KPUB is your destination. Even if it's out of your way, it's worth checking out, as the food is excellent, the vibes are great, and the owners welcome everyone. Don't forget to Uber or have a DD if you drink - the soju can creep up on you!

Great place for Korean styled fried chicken. Casual. Fun Kareoke. Good service. Celebrated NYE here.

One of the few places that open late in austin. They also have a karaoke room too. You order through their QR code and pay online. My favorite dish from them is the spicy seafood hot pot. We asked to switch the udon noodle for ramen. It was really yummy but they took a while making it. I also tried their fried chicken. They cook it really well, but their cheese flavoring need more powder on it. It tasted like normal fried chicken. Their dumpling and la galbi were decent. The corn cheese wasn't the best. I didn't like their rice cake and sausage skewer. The sauce tasted too much like ketchup.

    Budae Jjigae and 15 Wing

We got the Budae Jjigae and 15 Wing. It was delicious! Wings were crunchy and came with a side of pickled radish. We got spicy soy garlic and naked. The budae jjigae was pretty spicy and had a good amount of meat. This was plenty of food for 3 people. When we sat down, we had to scan a QR code and order from our phones. The restaurant was pretty cool inside, music was well played, and chilly. Would come back again.

K pub just added sushi to their menu and it's pretty decent. Tried a few rolls and really enjoyed the taste of the ingredients. Also tried a few Korean dishes too like bulgogi fries, buldak chicken, fishcake hotpot, and galbi. Great variety of foods, opens late night, and the service is great. Located in a plaza so lots of parking in the shared lot.

Funky fun Korean BBQ. Yes there are lots of stylish dishes and a build your own menu to suit everyone, but at is core, they make really really good Korean BBQ meats. Also tried the kimchi fries. Very good. Mild kimchi flavor of you are intimidated. Great prices, fast service... Definitely return.

Amazing K pubtini. And the food! Sweet corn, Seafood soup was spicy and flavorful. But my favorite is the sashimi sampler. All fresh and the cut was perfect. Service: I don't like ordering on the app/qr code so the server let me order the old style way. A plus for an old school like me. Clean place.

    Deep Fried Gizzards

We came here for dinner on a Saturday night and it was very busy, so get here early if you plan on coming on a weekend. Luckily my wife and I were able to get two open seats at the bar since they did open seating. We ordered the gizzards, spicy squid & half/half and everything was cooked spectacularly! We can both handle spicy pretty well and these had a very good spicy to them, the squid and tender and the gizzards were crispy but chewy which is perfect! I'm sure it was busy but I feel like we had to get the attention of the workers each time we needed something. Also, maybe it's just me but the bar table tops felt like it didn't have much room to eat on and it should be flipped since the server side had a lot more room.

This is prob my new favorite Korean fried chicken in town!! It's so hard to find a good Korean food place here. I love how crispy but also juicy the wings were. Some other places would make their wings either too saucy or too dry, this place did it just right! The special house sauce had an interesting flavor, a little smoky, sweet with a hint of garlic. The fries were great but I wish it was loaded with more cheese, maybe add on mayo and cilantro etc service was great! The owner/server was so sweet. Everyone stood near the front door to greet us when we walked in. This place deserves more recognition. It's very spacious inside. It was a bit cold when we were in there though, so maybe they could turn the AC down a bit for the guests' comfort.

First, finding songs was irritating since it's not an actual system that allows you to do that without refreshing the page and we had to spend like 10 minutes figuring out a playlist method on our own phones. Then, once we figured that out, the screen kept popping up with an error message saying playback was paused because the account was being used in another location. The first few times the staff came in to fix it but eventually they just taught us how to fix it ourselves and said it should be fine after we refresh the page and it'll just be another room's problem. . . After these mishaps the rest of the time was fine but these things just really left a bad impression on me.

You'll never run out of songs to sing! It's pretty inexpensive, too. Reserve your rooms online. They do need your credit card to reserve in case you cancel too late, but you don't pay until you are done with your room. You can order food from them or try their packaged ramen at the front. Almost feels cozy. The people helping us at the front desk and over the phone were all very nice, polite, and helpful. The guy was very patient going over the instructions on the controller. They also have a call button by the TV for additional assistance. We celebrated my partner's birthday here, so we brought everything: drinks, food, water, utensils, plates, etc. Just need to clean up afterwards before you are done with your room. Make sure everything is in the trash can. We brought our own trash bags because their trash cans can be small for all of our accumulated trash from our drinks and food. (Also brought recycling bags.) The only thing is that our room's mics would make strange and random sounds during a song. Not sure why. The room also got warmer for 6 people over 4 hours. May need to consider a larger room if you have more than 4 people. A small room can seat comfortably up to 6 people. There is a fan inside the room. The big lights are very bright. There is disco lighting that reacts to the music if you use their programmed machine. So for lighting, there is no in between. It can be too bright or too dark. We brought our own table lights to see our food. The girls bathroom has two stalls. They were kept clean all night long. Did kind of run out of hand soap though. Will definitely come here again next time!

A fine club with a decent bar and an eyebrow raising toilet…read more Obviously your interest in Elysium depends on who they book. I came during SXSW, when clubs usually book bands that are different from what they usually book. So my Japanese showcase would not reflect what you would usually hear at Elysium. But the performance space is attractive. The club is divided into two rooms with just a divider and no wall between the rooms. So you can hear the music from anywhere. If you want to be right next to the speakers at the edge of the stage, you have to be in the main room - not the room with the bar. As I get older, I sit down more. But for most of my life, I was a stage-edge-next-to-the-speaker kind of guy. Only the only thing that would remove me from my favorite place was mosh pit action (Or a sucky band). As I get older, I also look for some kind of wall support to brace myself with one hand while I dance with the rest of me. The Mohawk is ideal for wall support upfront dancing. The Elysium not so much because one wall is mirrored. But you can get in position to do some major dancing. When I was there last, I did just that. * * * Seating options are superb. Both in the stage room and the bar room there are comfy leather sofas that hold three people and a number of other soft seating locations. Unlike many other Austin clubs, it is easy to find a space to sit down and still get the music full blast. At the Mohawk, in contrast, for an indoor concert, if you go to sit down you leave the room with the music, and you only get vague overtones coming through the wall. * * * The bar is pretty good. Their options are limited but their options are well chosen. I was introduced to a George Dickel rye by the bartender that was absolutely first rate. George Dickel is definitely going into my home collection. Outstanding beverages and fine seating allow you to have a fine time at the Elysium Even on a night when the bands are terrible. * * * Your fine time changes if you have to go to the bathroom. * * * If you are a guy, peeing is merely tacky. You go into a semi-gross room where there is a multi-user tank. All the guys pee into the tank. * * * Pooping is another story. The club does not want shenanigans going on in any of the toilet stalls. So they remove the door to the toilet stall. The men's room toilet is fully visible from the front door to the men's room. You are literally pooping in front of the entire world. This is barely one step up from India. In India, many people poop in the streets. Here, you are essentially pooping in the streets Except when you are done you can flush the bad stuff away. I personally am very shy . I definitely do not want to do my business in public. * * * There are people in Austin who love to sh** in public. Put four of them together and you have a band. Bands like that perform all over town, Including at the Elysium.
