This is a gimmicky spot in a little strip mall. It's fine. You'll pay about fifteen bucks for a bowl of instant ramen with toppings, and a can of soda. If you want ramen that's $15 delicious, this isn't the place. If you want to pay a premium to experience the little schtick, go for it. You pick your instant noodles from a wall of selections, choose a few toppings, possibly snag a drink and/or other snack, then pay up at the register. Next the cashier will set you up on an individual cooking station that will pour out some hot water and heat up your paper bowl. Once you're done you pick a seat, stir up your soup, and you are all set to dig in. K Ramyun is kind of silly, but it is so cute. It's a fun little thing to do on a date night. A self serve Korean Ramyun (noodle) place!? After hearing about this from a friend on social media, I had to immediately check it out for the theme alone. Thought simple and quaint, the overall idea and process is quite homely and charming, which in it's own right is worth a visit. Atmosphere: Small and simple, but very convenient store type feel. Similar to ones you may find overseas. Food: I went with a simple cheese Ramyun, the owner was very nice and helpful to assist me in the process. Basically you choose a packet and then pick a few sides and then complete your order. Though not over yet! Then you go over to their little Ramyum machines and wait for it to cook your food while you stir and let the noodles form. The overall process takes about 4 minutes. The food itself, is tasty, though with so much selection it's really up the user themselves. Service: As mentioned earlier the owner and other servers were very nice and helpful since this process is quite unique to the Austin area (at the time of this writing), though that's what makes the experience all the better. Can a lot of these be made at home? Yes. Is the experience reproducible at home? No. Is it charming enough to warrant multiple visits? Yes. I loved the overall simplicity and vibe you don't often seen within the USA and certainly would recommend for anyone looking for a different kind of experience for instant noodles, best of all no clean up. read more

It cost $15 dollars to make your own food with cheap ingredients and a cheap pack of ramen.

I'll start off with the good things because there were some things that K-Ramyun does super well. I love how there are so many different options for for the type of ramen you want to make. And you can include however many you want in your order, given you're willing to pay for it. Like you don't have to just pick one packet, you can mix and match to your heart's delight if you really want. The owner is also super friendly, attentive, and helpful. I also saw him cleaning the noodle cooking area after each use to ensure the place was clean. The workers make sure you know how to use the machines, and the food was tasty! However, my biggest complaint is that the markups are so ridiculous. Especially when you realize that this concept came from sensationalizing the experience of going to a Korean CONVENIENCE STORE. You can get a pack of ramen with 4 packs inside for like $6. I already knew this place would be overpriced so I expected each individual pack of ramen to be like $5. To say I was shocked to see that it was actually $9 or even $10 of you chose a "premium" noodle is an understatement. Then you have to pay for each topping you want in it. I kind of expected like maybe you can get two free toppings and additional would be extra. But nope. Each normal topping is $0.99 and "premium" toppings are $1.99 each. And the serving size of the toppings are like small sauce containers. You don't even get to scoop as much as you want which might make the pricing make more sense. I know for a fact you can get a can of corn for like $0.64 but here, a small handful is $0.99?? A slice of Kraft American cheese is $0.99?? And they didn't even have that wide of a variety of toppings. If you want a drink, the prices themselves aren't too bad. But the fact that you have to pay for the ice and cup separately is just . And honestly the ice doesn't do that much, if you really want a drink, just drink it out the pouch. I ended up getting a non premium noodle, one premium topping (like 4-5 mini sausages), and a drink and the total came out to be almost $18. And that's without tip! Even though you're basically cooking your own noodles anyways. If you're gonna be spending that much on ramen, I recommend going to an actual ramen restaurant where they load your bowl with in house made stock, huge chunks of meat, vegetables galore, an egg, and fresh noodles. The experience itself was nice because it was new to me. But unless the prices drop, I don't see myself coming back again. This could very well be recreated at home for so much cheaper. It's not like they have special toppings or ingredients that you couldn't easily get from hmart. So it was not worth it at all for me. read more

We listen! We don't judge! We just enjoy! I visited K Ramyun with friends. It is in an area that allows for good parking. When I went it was pretty busy! The employee that greeted us was kind. There are so many options for ramen. The wall is very tall. The inside sitting space is limited, but they make it work. If there a ramen flavor you want from up top, an employee can get it down for you. If you are indecisive, someone can help you choose. When you grab your ramen pack, there are bowls and trays nearby. Then you go and pick your toppings. The toppings add up quick , they aren't free at all. They also had drinks with cups of ice. After picking toppings, you cook your ramen. The person at the counter can tell you how much water to add based on your ramen type. It didn't take too long to finish. I think I maybe couldve added less water and would've enjoyed it more. My ramen was tasty. But the price was not. You won't get Korea's 7-Eleven prices here . You are definitely paying for an experience! I had a really good time overall. read more

Now this is one of my favorite places to get Ramen. I love that you get to make it yourself adding in exactly what you want. They are attentive and offered to help me right away. They showed me exactly what to do and explained the literal WALL of ramen to choose what I wanted for the base. The only down side is that it is small, very small. Wow! I wasn't sure what to expect but the place is immaculately clean, the customer service was top notch and the food was delicious. The toppings were very fresh. The cashier helped me get acquainted with the process and helped me even open some of my seasoning packets that came with my ramyun! Kpop played as I ate, so I bebop'ed and tried to look cool as I managed the spicy ramyun I chose. Yowzahs, 20 mins later and my lips only stopped burning. This spot is pretty cool and we all really enjoyed our Ramen's. The girl at the checkout counter wasn't very friendly and they actually have to walk you through the cooking process which ranges from 3-5 minutes. That was pretty painful but, we made it through. Afterwards we had to awkwardly stand around until some people got up and left so that we could have a place to sit. Their seating consisted of 3 tables and some bar like seating against the wall. Do not recommend for big families or small kids. For a family of 5, with 5 drinks and lots of toppings our total was $85. This is actually a good price for dinner for 5 but, I understand some people might think that's steep for instant ramen. read more

I love this place. The concept is such a good one. Yes, you can make your own ramen at home. But this is a fun interactive way to do it elsewhere. There's a ton of toppings to choose from. And the ramen varieties Are great. They even have vegan ramen options. There's tofu as the toppings. Mine was super spicy. I got ramen, two toppings, and a Korean drink for $16 so the prices aren't bad. The cashier was super helpful and so sweet. It's a great time and it taste so good. Clean, No frills, decent selection ordered from non spicy to spicy. Kind and polite service. They're skimpy on the toppings. But again, you're not paying for the toppings. You're paying for the gimmick. The place gets busy on the weekends. I saw a line the first time I was in the area and gave it a pass. Lunch hours on weekdays seem to be good for a quick pop in. As far as gimmick restaurants go, it's not bad. And there's nothing wrong with a gimmick. I love a good gimmick. America was built on gimmicks. Starting out with a positive note. It was a cute experience. The guy working there was nice and helpful. Food and drinks were good as well. Ambiance cute. Heard about this place from a video. Decided to go because of my daughter, she loves anything Korean. My complaint.... It's over priced!!! I honestly feel they are selling the experience, an expensive experience. I can get these items at 99 market, even at HEB, and at a better price. $40 for my daughter and myself. Two premium ramen, three sides(1boiled egg, 1 cup dumpling(2piece), and 1 cup rice cakes(4 small slices) ), two cups of ice, and three juice packs. Now, I understand imported items are priced slightly more but man this is insane. Would I recommend? Humm... maybe.... If you're rich.... Or for the experience i guess...
