Oh my gosh! This place was amazing! The staff were super friendly and relaxed, and they even let us choose where we wanted to sit. I started with the gyozas -- filled with chicken and veggies, and really affordable at around $6 for 6. The sauce was delicious, and I shared them with my family, who also thought they were great. You can get them fried or steamed; I went with steamed. Next, I ordered the salmon avocado roll, and it was literally the best roll I've ever eaten. I dipped it in soy sauce, and for those who avoid preservatives, they even offer a soy sauce with just soy, wheat, salt, and water -- perfect for me! I ended up ordering four orders of six rolls (yes, they were that good) and ate them all by myself. Each order was about $9, with $7 for just salmon -- avocado was an add-on. The Sexy Mango roll was my mom's favorite -- she said it tasted refreshing. We also tried sashimi sushi, which was served in a cool cup and tasted amazing. My brother went all out and ate 30 avocado rolls, and the chef was kind enough to give him a super-sized sushi with extra avocado and rice -- I was so jealous! I also tried the Beef Bulgogi, which was delicious and priced at about $13 -- very reasonable. Around 4:00 pm on Saturday, the restaurant wasn't crowded, which made it perfect to enjoy our meal. Decent spot with really nice deals! We came on a Tuesday evening and were really surprised to see that there was an all day deal going on for a combo of certain rolls and entrees for a cheaper price, so of course we had to go for that! Our server was super nice and immediately took our order. The rolls, because they are part of the combo, were more on the simple side. Both the yellowtail and tuna roll were really good. The quality of the fish seemed decent, but I wish there was more of it in the roll. And I wish the wasabi was a little stronger. The chicken udon bowl was probably my favorite of the night. The udon itself was the perfect texture and really bouncy. The broth was deep and had a rich sweetness. And the chicken was really juicy. The chashu ramen was okay though. This is a modest unassuming restaurant but it is welcoming, comfortable, clean and well maintained. For me, the bibimbab could have had more vegetables and the gochujang sauce was a little too sweet for me. The banchan(sides) were in very small containers but I fortunately ordered extra. All the menu items I've tried beyond sushi have been delicious as well. Atmosphere: It is a comfortable restaurant with many booths to each side and tables in the center. The decorations are appropriate. It would make a good "date" restaurant. The sushi bar has about 5-6 seats. It is family owned and the owners are very friendly. Sushi: As titled, the sushi has been great every time I've come. Keep in mind this is Austin, if you compare to California it's not going to be the same. Even so I'd highly recommend the salmon and white tuna. Korean: This is also excellent! I've tried the stone pot bibimbop and you should too. It's a hot clay bowl packed with rice, veggies, meat, and an egg. The rice cooks to the side for a nice browned flavor. Also the sashimi bibimbop which is a multi-item salad with sashimi. The traditional Korean sides are made in house and taste fresh and fantastic. I love the cucumber. Japanese: The Udon is spot-on. The Yakisoba is very good. We decided on sushi for lunch and this popped up as the closest place with greet reviews The restaurant is in a strip mall and looks pretty unassuming inside. More like a breakfast place or diner but don't let that distract you from the food. The service was very friendly and they were very nice with great pace. I ordered a spicy tuna roll and seaweed salad. The rolls were a little too big so eat each one as a roll but very tasty with fresh ingredients and the right amount of heat. The lunch specials - two speciality rolls for $20 is amazing! It also comes either miso soup. The Lamar roll is incredible and so fresh. We have also tried other items from the large menu selections and we have never been disappointed! The service is friendly and quick and the food is fresh with generous portions. I've came here so many times with my friends and we just love it. The food is always so good no matter what you get. We always end up with the crab puffs appetizer, multiple sushi rolls, and finish it with some fried cheesecake. The crab puff is so good. It's similar to a crab rangoon, but these come in a 2 pack and are huge. They are so worth getting they're so yummy. The sushi rolls are always amazing. Every one we've tried so far has been so good. My personal favorite is the cherry blossom, but the lamar roll was really good too. My friend actually keeps track of all the rolls we've tried and we always enjoy what we get. We've also tried the spicy pork bulgogi which was incredible. It was so tender and had such good flavor. The friend cheesecake is good too, but it is a little weird getting a frozen piece inside when it's been deep fried. These service is always so amazing. The waitress we usually see is super nice and attentive. She explains things really well and always makes sure we have everything we need. The ambiance is very cozy to me. We always sit in a booth and I feel like it always feels like it's just us there which I personally really like. While on the lookout for a new restaurant to try we decided to stop in here after going to the nearby comic shop. We got here early before the lunch crowd so we had an extra attentive waiter. At first I was apprehensive as to what I could actually have a gluten free person. She said they used gluten free tempura and I was so happy as I haven't had any gluten free tempura but in a matter of moments she returned to say they did not have that flour after all. The tea is as mentioned, a cup with a tea bag. Then I had the salad from my friend's plate was a bit strange so I didn't finish it. He loved his meal though. The potato salad was unique and I liked it. He liked his teriyaki plate especially the noodles. We had a cheesecake for dessert.
