    Sashimi - yum!

Always a wonderful visit - friendly with great service and high quality food! When friends visit from out of town we come here for dinner! So I shall let the pictures do the talking this time.

Always reliable and amazing g sushi, service and speed! This is our go to sushi spot in cedar park. They have the best value for the price that we've found and the food is always delicious.

This place is a HIDDEN gem! It's so tasty and fresh. The sushi here is authentically Japanese and the owners husband and wife work so hard! They wife is very attentive and quick. I am from LA and I've had sugar fish and Sushi Fumi.... This place is that level. One standout is the scallion yellowtail roll--it's made with a mashed yellowtail and scallion mix, which is hands down the best way to enjoy it. So much flavor packed into every bite. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They're always busy, and now I totally get why.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This is, without a doubt, the BEST sushi in the Leander/Cedar Park area. Spoken like a true sushi enthusiast!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Very nice neighborhood gem![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu is as authentic as it can get in Austin. Not all fried or Americanized rolls, if you've been to Japan you can find some favorites here. The service is very nice, the lady recommended some very good food and the food was paced nicely although it's a small place. I think this place is way better than some downtown fancy "Authentic" places, and this place also come with a reasonable price.

**Daichi Japanese Restaurant: A Hidden Gem in Cedar Park** We have been going to Daichi for years since they opened. Nestled in Cedar Park, Daichi offers a genuine taste of Japan. Despite its modest size, the restaurant delivers exceptional food quality with meticulous care in ingredient selection. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The welcoming atmosphere, paired with attentive staff led by Tomo, ensures a delightful dining experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Their lunch specials are particularly noteworthy, offering great value for authentic dishes. Highly recommended for those seeking superb Japanese cuisine in a friendly setting.

Amazing, I've been coming here for 10 years and nothing has changed - in the best way. Lunch deals are amazing value for the quality. Dinner a la carte is full of very special and authentic dishes.

    Tiny rolls.

I don't get the reviews. This place was not good. It was mediocre at best. The rolls were VERY tiny AND under filled. If they had been good, I could have overlooked the size and filling. I promise you H‑E‑B sushi is more substantial. The rice wasn't even sticking to the rolls. Please look at my photos to see the true size and lack of quality. The spicy edamame was the best thing we got. It was spicy as described. For $120, I feel majorly ripped off. Oh and what the receipt showed is way different than what they posted on their website. There was also a 40 min wait to pickup. The long wait actually got us excited because we thought it meant it must be great. NOPE!

Delicious food paired with fast and friendly service! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant may be on the smaller side, but it's big on flavor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The lunch menu is fantastic, and I'll definitely be coming back!

THE BEST JAPANESE RESTAURANT IN AUSTIN, imho. The ingredients are fresh and high quality, the prices are very reasonable. Seems like a mom and pop joint and the service is kind and efficient. Interior is simple--clean and welcoming. We make the drive from central Austin because it's. that. good.

Great lunch spot for the weekend. Great service as well, I go here maybe once a month and they remember me. Food is always amazing when we go and decently price which is surprising for Austin/Cedar Park. Small little restaurant so if you have a big party, you might want to call ahead or just know you might have to wait a bit. The owners are from Japan as well and we got to talk about Japan a bit since I able to travel there a few months back.

    Chicken Katsu Curry Rice
    Briana N.

First off, the service here is what I really love about Daichi. I ordered the fried shrimp curry rice, but the ended up giving me the chicken katsu one. It wasn't that big of a deal and I know mistakes happen so I was just gonna tell the server to not worry about it. But she beat me to the punch, apologized, and insisted that I would get the shrimp on the side as extra for no charge. I've also read other reviews of how other customers feel as if they're treated like family and they really are so friendly. As for the food, I couldn't get enough. The curry was really yummy and came with a small ginger dressing salad and some fried potatoes. But the katsu is to die for!! Both the chicken and the shrimp were soo hot and crispy without feeling oily at all. And the meat inside was literally still so juicy and tender. I didn't expect to finish my whole dish and had planned to take the extra home, but I ate the whole thing up so quick. I will for sure be coming back to try some other dishes next time!

The food is always incredible, but what truly sets this place apart is the people. Kylie, Nathan, Maddie, and so many others on the team consistently go above and beyond to make us feel welcomed, cared for, and genuinely valued. Their kindness never feels forced -- it's just who they are. One moment that really stayed with me was when I brought my young niece, who has several allergies and can also be a bit picky with food. The chef personally came out to our table to ask thoughtful questions, understand her allergies better, and make sure she felt safe and comfortable eating there. That level of care meant so much to our family. Now that I'm pregnant, the staff continues to be just as attentive, accommodating, and thoughtful. They always make sure I'm comfortable and taken care of, and it honestly feels like visiting friends every time we walk through the door. Restaurants with great food are everywhere. Restaurants with genuinely wonderful people are rare. Jack Allen's is one of those rare places, and we're incredibly grateful for the amazing team there.

We started off with the queso and guacamole. They queso was delicious and while the guacamole was fresh it needed some salt. For my meal I got the special which was the bacon wrapped meatloaf. It was flavorful and cooked correctly. My only recommendation would have been to give some more sauce for the meatloaf. My husband got the fried pork chop and said it was cooked perfectly and that the gravy was delicious. Overall, an enjoyable meal and we would return.

So I stopped it for lunch one day and ordered one of my favorites. Spaghetti Bolognese. There's not a lot of seating there. Table and chairs are pretty ordinary. Where I sat I had a full view of the kitchen. I don't think they hired all their wait staff yet because I was waited on by someone from the kitchen. Besides the meal, I ordered an iced tea. It didn't take too long for the food to be served. I wasn't sure if this was a good thing or bad because supposedly the pasta is handmade. It was brought to me and my first thought was how small the portion was. But then I figured I would have no leftovers so no big deal. I took my first flight and it was absolutely delicious. The pasta was cooked just right not too mushy not too well Al denta. And the Bolognese sauce was so meaty. I have to mention that because most places don't make a good Bolognese sauce. This tasted exactly like the kind I make it home, which is thanks to Anne Burrell's recipe. I finished the whole bowl. Here's the downside. That bowl cost me $20. There was no salad nor bread served with this lunch. Just a small bowl of pasta. I know prices have gone up, but that was ridiculous. I'm glad I came and tried it. It was good but it'll be a long time before I go there again because of the pricing.
