Always reliable and amazing g sushi, service and speed! This is our go to sushi spot in cedar park. They have the best value for the price that we've found and the food is always delicious.

This place is a HIDDEN gem! It's so tasty and fresh. The sushi here is authentically Japanese and the owners husband and wife work so hard! They wife is very attentive and quick. I am from LA and I've had sugar fish and Sushi Fumi.... This place is that level. One standout is the scallion yellowtail roll--it's made with a mashed yellowtail and scallion mix, which is hands down the best way to enjoy it. So much flavor packed into every bite. They're always busy, and now I totally get why. This is, without a doubt, the BEST sushi in the Leander/Cedar Park area. Spoken like a true sushi enthusiast!

Very nice neighborhood gem! The menu is as authentic as it can get in Austin. Not all fried or Americanized rolls, if you've been to Japan you can find some favorites here. The service is very nice, the lady recommended some very good food and the food was paced nicely although it's a small place. I think this place is way better than some downtown fancy "Authentic" places, and this place also come with a reasonable price.

**Daichi Japanese Restaurant: A Hidden Gem in Cedar Park** We have been going to Daichi for years since they opened. Nestled in Cedar Park, Daichi offers a genuine taste of Japan. Despite its modest size, the restaurant delivers exceptional food quality with meticulous care in ingredient selection. The welcoming atmosphere, paired with attentive staff led by Tomo, ensures a delightful dining experience. Their lunch specials are particularly noteworthy, offering great value for authentic dishes. Highly recommended for those seeking superb Japanese cuisine in a friendly setting.

Amazing, I've been coming here for 10 years and nothing has changed - in the best way. Lunch deals are amazing value for the quality. Dinner a la carte is full of very special and authentic dishes.

Delicious food paired with fast and friendly service! The restaurant may be on the smaller side, but it's big on flavor. The lunch menu is fantastic, and I'll definitely be coming back!

THE BEST JAPANESE RESTAURANT IN AUSTIN, imho. The ingredients are fresh and high quality, the prices are very reasonable. Seems like a mom and pop joint and the service is kind and efficient. Interior is simple--clean and welcoming. We make the drive from central Austin because it's. that. good.

Tiny rolls.

I don't get the reviews. This place was not good. It was mediocre at best. The rolls were VERY tiny AND under filled. If they had been good, I could have overlooked the size and filling. I promise you H‑E‑B sushi is more substantial. The rice wasn't even sticking to the rolls. Please look at my photos to see the true size and lack of quality. The spicy edamame was the best thing we got. It was spicy as described. For $120, I feel majorly ripped off. Oh and what the receipt showed is way different than what they posted on their website. There was also a 40 min wait to pickup. The long wait actually got us excited because we thought it meant it must be great. NOPE!

Great lunch spot for the weekend. Great service as well, I go here maybe once a month and they remember me. Food is always amazing when we go and decently price which is surprising for Austin/Cedar Park. Small little restaurant so if you have a big party, you might want to call ahead or just know you might have to wait a bit. The owners are from Japan as well and we got to talk about Japan a bit since I able to travel there a few months back.

Chicken Katsu Curry Rice

First off, the service here is what I really love about Daichi. I ordered the fried shrimp curry rice, but the ended up giving me the chicken katsu one. It wasn't that big of a deal and I know mistakes happen so I was just gonna tell the server to not worry about it. But she beat me to the punch, apologized, and insisted that I would get the shrimp on the side as extra for no charge. I've also read other reviews of how other customers feel as if they're treated like family and they really are so friendly. As for the food, I couldn't get enough. The curry was really yummy and came with a small ginger dressing salad and some fried potatoes. But the katsu is to die for!! Both the chicken and the shrimp were soo hot and crispy without feeling oily at all. And the meat inside was literally still so juicy and tender. I didn't expect to finish my whole dish and had planned to take the extra home, but I ate the whole thing up so quick. I will for sure be coming back to try some other dishes next time!

Tempura udon

What a fantastic gem hidden in a random strip mall. The storefront is unassuming but you have to try this spot. The staff is very polite, I ordered takeout that came in 3 bags and they offered to help me bring the food to the car. It's the effort that counts. Now the food: if you order their lunch specials it's an absolute steal. The lunch menu choices is staggering. We got udon, sushi, teriyaki, tempura, and more! Everything came out amazing, nothing would suggest it's of lesser quality. At such high quality with this price, it's pretty much a no brainer. Enjoy your lunch at Daichi!

Just devoured our spicy gyudon and pork cutlet curry. We found this place on Reddit and it went past our expectations! The service was good, it took us longer to get our food because there was only one person waiting tables, but we'll worth it. Can't wait to come back!

I had a craving for sushi and stopped in for a late lunch at Daichi with a friend. It's one of the few places that are open between lunch and dinner hours. The restaurant itself isn't huge but the owners are very friendly. We decided on the hamachi as an appetizer which was very flavorful and delicious. We split 4 special rolls. I don't remember which rolls we ordered but 3 of them were delicious! All very flavorful. The only one I was a bit disappointed about was the one that was deep fried (the one with shrimp tempura). I will admit it was a misunderstanding in my part as the owner said it was fried (I thought she mean the shrimp tempura was fried). My fav one is the one with the pepper on top. It was SPICY and I loved every burning tingly sensation with every bite!

For roughly $60 the wife was full and we had roughly 6 dishes and one cocktail (I was still slightly hungry). Think of it as more of a tapas style ordering. Soft shelled crab - My absolute favorite and by far the best dish! Crispy from the breading, soft shell and subtle crab taste, and to top it off the fried egg adds some creaminess from the yolk. Not greasy at all due to the way it's fried. And who doesn't like a little microgreen to add some freshness to it?! It could likely use a little more salt, and this particular time the yolk was a overcooked. Sushi Tacos - 2nd favorite! You get two, and frankly I prefer not sharing these (although my wife forced me to). It's such a unique dish. Each taco is palm sized. They take a yummy piece of laver (seaweed), coat one side and deep fry it to make a nice hard shell taco casing. Then they fill it with sushi rice, top it with plentiful tuna, add a slice of avocado, and top it with micro greens. Refreshing, light (once you squeeze the tiny lime on top), slightly filling due to the rice, and absolutely delicious. Takoyaki - I'm not a fan, but the wife is. For me it's a texture thing. Even when visiting Japan I didn't enjoy this dish. Honestly though I do think it deserves far more bonito flakes, as the dish is meant to look alive from the waving flakes. Honestly we love this place so much, I always get engrossed in the food so much I forget to take pics. The overall ambience is chill and refined, albeit no white tableclothes, but it acts like it should have them. This location gets busy during dinner time, however during happy hour it's rarely even 1/4 full. Monday's the happy hour is all day!

Our server said she would remove it from the bill, which I appreciated--but the manager refused. Instead, he insisted I pay for it and even tried to pressure me into eating it. The lack of flexibility and understanding made an already frustrating situation worse. We don't go out to eat often, so this was especially disappointing. Overall, the service was poor and not how customers should be treated.

I started with the gyozas -- filled with chicken and veggies, and really affordable at around $6 for 6. The sauce was delicious, and I shared them with my family, who also thought they were great. You can get them fried or steamed; I went with steamed. Next, I ordered the salmon avocado roll, and it was literally the best roll I've ever eaten. I dipped it in soy sauce, and for those who avoid preservatives, they even offer a soy sauce with just soy, wheat, salt, and water -- perfect for me! I ended up ordering four orders of six rolls (yes, they were that good) and ate them all by myself. Each order was about $9, with $7 for just salmon -- avocado was an add-on. The Sexy Mango roll was my mom's favorite -- she said it tasted refreshing. We also tried sashimi sushi, which was served in a cool cup and tasted amazing. My brother went all out and ate 30 avocado rolls, and the chef was kind enough to give him a super-sized sushi with extra avocado and rice -- I was so jealous! I also tried the Beef Bulgogi, which was delicious and priced at about $13 -- very reasonable. Around 4:00 pm on Saturday, the restaurant wasn't crowded, which made it perfect to enjoy our meal. The K-pop music in the background was a fun touch, too. Seriously, the salmon avocado rolls were the best I've ever had. I'll definitely be back next time I'm nearby!

Our server was super nice and immediately took our order. The rolls, because they are part of the combo, were more on the simple side. Both the yellowtail and tuna roll were really good. The quality of the fish seemed decent, but I wish there was more of it in the roll. And I wish the wasabi was a little stronger. The chicken udon bowl was probably my favorite of the night. The udon itself was the perfect texture and really bouncy. The broth was deep and had a rich sweetness. And the chicken was really juicy. The chashu ramen was okay though. I wish the noodles were cooked a little more, I wish the pork was more tender, and I wish the egg was jammier since the whole yolk was basically hard boiled.

Your party of 3 can have 2 people finish their entire dinner before one of you ever gets anything. This happened to us last Friday at Momo. I sat for 40 minutes waiting patiently for a bento box while my husband and daughter had their entire meal. Someone who was not our server came over and said "it looks like you're missing some things" - yep, dude, you sure are perceptive. Our appetizer came out at around 30+ minutes - it was the veggie and shrimp tempura. And that was after the multiple sushi rolls came out and my family had already eaten them. The bento came out finally, with no offer to make it right. Our server only sheepishly said sorry. I should have known trouble was on the way when we walked in and we were sat right next to the counter with a view of the sushi "chef." I watched him bang a knife (he had just used to cut avocado with) on the inside of a dirty trash can and then proceeded to use it again. Nope. All the way nope. Good luck to you, Momo. I won't be back to even bother finding out if you've gotten your *ish together.
